Ja he parlat molt del Version 2.0, el segon disc de la Shirley & Cia, i a aquestes alçades ja sabreu que és un dels meus àlbums preferits de la dècada dels 90.

Difícil escollir un tema entre tots els que formen un disc gairebé perfecte, a vegades em vé de gust el romanticisme de You Look So Fine, a vegades el rock de Push It, i d’altres el so més punk i barroc de Hammering In My Head, però avui em plau escoltar un mig temps com Medication, que he tingut la sort d’escoltar en varis concerts seus, a vegades en la versió original, i a vegades sorprenent-nos amb una magnífica versió exclusivament al piano, que sona realment genial.

Ya he hablado bastante del Version 2.0, el segundo disco de Shirley & Cia, y a estas alturas ya sabéis que es uno de mis álbumes preferidos de la década de los 90.

Difícil escoger un tema entre todos los que forman un disco casi perfecto, a veces me apetece el romanticismo de You Look So Fine, a veces el rock de Push It, y en otras ocasiones el sonido más punk y barroco de Hammering In My Head, pero hoy me apetece escuchar un medio tiempo como Medication, que he tenido la suerte de escuchar en varios conciertos suyos, a veces en la version original, y otras, sorprendiéndonos con una íntima version exclusivamente al piano, que suena realmente genial.

I won’t lie… today’s song is sort of a placeholder before I begin another theme week tomorrow. In my blog queue, I have a handful of songs that I’ve collected but never written about or featured. I grab them because I like them but they don’t make it onto the blog because I don’t really know what to say.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. As the old saying goes, writing about music is like dancing about architecture, so being at a loss for words over a particular song is in no way a knock on the song or the artist. On the contrary, maybe it’s the songs that you can’t explain away, the ones that appeal to you for reasons you can’t express, that really matter.

Of course now, in an effort to keep from underselling this song, I’m attaching more importance to it than it deserves. Can’t win, I guess.

I’ll leave it at this: I can listen to (and watch) Shirley Manson sing just about anything. And Garbage is one of the most under-appreciated bands of the past decade.

Also, I love the Chrissie Hynde impersonation Manson does at the end of the song as she cribs a line from ‘Talk of the Town.’ Apparently the band asked Hynde if they could use the lyric and she responded via fax, saying they could “sample her voice, her music or, indeed, her very arse.”

Fantasies - 2009

My very first impression of Fantasies is that it sounds a whole lot like Garbage’s Version 2.0.  And that wasn’t a good thing.  The overarching theme between the two – and in my opinion, the downfall – is the slick as glass production value of every track.  Each song on Fantasies sort of blends together in a wall of generic electronica rock that could have been released in the 90s.  Hey, maybe they should have played the ACL Festival!

90s sound or not: Metric does not attempt to re-invent any formulas, tinker with the genre, or offer up unique additions to it, and that’s the main problem with the album.  I listened to Fantasies twice in a row and no song stuck out to me as having the punch to back the positive reviews the album has received (but On the Record still rocks!).  Emily Haines voice is paper thin here, gliding along the record on top of the shiny-sounding instruments, but essentially carrying no weight.  Her voice isn’t very unique, at least in this capacity, and pitting it amidst a streak of sonic neatness makes it almost indistinguishable.  That fact causes many of the lyrics to be difficult to focus on, but the ones I did hear I found to be insipid and cliche.  Most of the album reeks of trying way too hard for radio play and underutilizes the maturity that it seems the band might be capable of bringing to the table.

I can see the album’s merits as a purely new wave electronic wall of sound.  Fantasies would make good party music because of the driving beats, but ultimately what it lacks is heart.  That’s what keeps it from being truly great.

There has been great years in music.  Sure the Grandpas and the Pappas will tell you all about them from the 50s, 60s, and 70s before you and I were born and there’s been quite a few during the 80s and 90s and even the 00s depending on your taste.  For me, the 97-98 yearbook was one of the best if not my personal favorite.  Sure I’ve probably discover a higher number of new bands, gone to more concerts, bought more records, and liked a higher count of songs released during other years but 97-98 remains a top year for me, and this first of three post dedicated to that yearbook will tell you why.

Arguably, the most important/relevant thing that happened during that time was how female musicians took over the reigns of popular music by producing exhilarating collections of music that took them out of their comfort zones, and confronting personal issues while staying accessible to the masses, and taking on some risks not many thought will pay off.

After years of working as a pop act in her native canada, Alanis Morrisette gave the world the seething, male-revenge, pissed off beauty of 1995 JAGGED LITTLE PILL and few thought she would ever be able to match that album, and though she has never produce a full album capable of reaching such heights since, for a moment in 1998 she had us believe she could:

“UNINVITED“ from the CITY OF ANGELS soundtrack was at the time of its release (and remains to this day) Alanis Morrissette’s greatest songwriting/crafting achievement in music.  Gothic, dramatic, darkly-poetic and haunting, that song was better than any single from JAGGED LITTLE PILL, any other song off the CITY OF ANGELS soundtrack, heck, the song was even better than the freaking movie.  A witching hour-lightning strike that hasn’t been duplicated.

Funnily enough, Jewel, who along with Alanis would ended up releasing follow ups to their blockbuster debut albums at the tail end of 98 with mixed reviews, also gave us her greatest single: “FOOLISH GAMES.”

“YOU WERE MEANT FOR ME” may have been more popular and it may have sold a gazillion records, but that’s only because a commercial single of “FOOLISH GAMES” was never issued and instead was pegged as the B-side of the ”YOU WERE MEANT FOR ME” single, which is probably why it sold so much.  But bet it, re-recorded for radio with a new shiny pop-friendly coat or less glamorous, more acoustic and somber, as it appears on the album, ”FOOLISH GAMES” is a gem of domestic disillusionment and abandonment no matter how you look at it.

Sheryl Crow, Lauryn Hill, Whitney Houston, Sarah Mclachlan, and Shania Twain went onto release great if slightly overrated albums as well.

I’ve never (up to that point) cared for Whitney Houston enough to own an album of hers ’til MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE, ditto Sarah McLachlan and her SURFACING album.  Sure both women have great pipes, but Whitney 80s catalog ALL SOUNDS THE SAME! every song, especially the ballads, have the same structure/production as the one before it, and she and her producers weren’t the only ones doing this back in the 80s either; just listen to Janet Jackson’s CONTROL and RHYTHM NATION back to back and you’ll see.  Whitney sounds hungry, reinvigorated, and ready to try different things on MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE and it pays off.

Now, Sarah Mclachlan was, I don’t know, too out there, too feminist, too Sarah Brightman for me to find something in her music to like until the pop sensitivities of the excellent SURFACING.  It may not be her best album but it’s certainly her most accessible and she didn’t even had to fully sacrifice her love for the dark as evident on singles: “BUILDING A MYSTERY” and “SWEET SURRENDER.”

Yes, the come-hither look of mass appeal.

Shania Twain, much like Sarah, decided to expand beyond their niche and into a more pop-friendly sound with her mammoth of an album COME ON OVER.  I don’t personally own the album but I have friends that do and have played it in my presence, not to mention my exposure to its singles through radio airplay so I know the album was created with the single purpose to appeal to anyone and everyone no matter who you were and what your stance on country music was.  It is the album blamed for every other country artist since, appropriating pop sounds into their twang in order to widen their commercial success.

Take me serious

Sheryl Crow’s THE GLOBE SESSIONS was met with praise (and grammys) just like everything Sheryl does, which can be irritating since not everything she does is gold BUT that overpraising does takes away from one enjoying and appreciating her music.  THE GLOBE SESSIONS isn’t her best record but it is very competent and she did pull a few new tricks out of her hat. “My Favorite Mistake,” “Am I Getting Through part 1,” “Anything but Down,” “The Difficult Kind,” and “Crash and Burn” are proof that she can create amazing, layered, pop-leaning rock with the best of them.

Why didn't I think about doing this to my elementary school desk?

Lauryn Hill’s THE MISEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL is no doubt a great album and yet not the second coming.  The album is too long, the ratio of singing vs rapping is off and some songs, especially towards the end, veer a little too much into melisma-singing for my taste.  On the other hand, her rhyming skills are off the charts, especially on songs like: “Lost Ones” and “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and with “Ex-Factor” she crafts one of the most heart-wrenching songs about a breakup.  “Zion” tenderly captures a woman uncertainty and unconditional love for the life growing within her.  A breathless slice of R&B and in the pantheon of black music this is definitely a milestone.

Other notable albums: Daft Punk’s HOMEWORK reinvented dance music with brilliant french experimentation; that the whole album feels loose and made on the ease speaks volumes, and it is a welcome compare to how overproduced dance music was up to that point that it took the “fun” out of it until HOMEWORK came out.

Gay Messiah

Rufus Wainwight’s self title album announce the arrival of new breed of pop singer and a type of songwriter working on a whole new level of greatness.  Yes, he would go on to create masterpieces with his next 3 releases but none of that would have been possible without his first LP.  A singer that from the get go refused to be told what to do, what to sing about or compromise his artistry and persona.  You know the record co would have love it if his sound was more pop-oriented, less dramatic, less classical/orchestral, and he kept his sexuality hidden, but that’s exactly the reason he’s gifted, why his music is surrealistically sublime and his singing unmatched.  And that’s why we love him.

ghost, witch or vamp?

Smashing Pumpkins’ ADORE was not their best album but it was a worthy addition to their catalog.  Another reason why the 97-98 yearbook was so amazing was the total and complete embrace of electronica by established artist and ADORE is a prime example.  But electronic-dipped guitar licks were not the only surprise the album had; we were also treated to subdue, precious, lullaby-like moments like opener “For Sheila” and of course a new Gothic look that also invaded their lyrics, like on the excellent lead single “Ava Adore.”

Garbage VERSION 2.0 was another rock album that took on electronic sounds and ran away with them into dancefloor territory.  Granted, Garbage had been experimenting with electronic sounds long before VERSION 2.0 as evident on their debut album but they took things farther into the recess of computer hard drives with this one, and their daring was justly awarded with an album of the year grammy nom.

Marylin Manson’s MECHANICAL ANIMALS and Hole’s CELEBRITY SKIN continued this trend further into 1998.  Some may argue that both acts had previously given us superior albums, and that they were selling out by being overtly commercial, especially Hole and I’ll agree with this to a certain extent. Yes, their sound was more commercial than their previous releases but they remained as defiant and in your face as ever.  And one good listen proves that their lyrical skills, especially those of Ms. Love were as awesome as ever.  I don’t care what people think of Courtney Love; whatever opinion you may have of her persona, you cannot deny that when it comes to music, that woman is a force to be reckon with, a force that only PJ Harvey can tromped, and those are Courtney words, not mine.

My friend the AL can say what she wants but Third Eye Blind’s self titled debut album is worth a mention when talking about the best of 97-98.  Yes, the album as a whole isn’t a masterpiece, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t full of great singles: “Losing a Whole Year,” “Narcolepsy,” “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper,” “Graduate,” “How’s it Gonna Be,”London,” and “I Want You” are bona fide pop-rock gems.

Notable singles include: Hanson’s “MMMBop”  The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony”  No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak”  Matchbox Twenty’s “Push” and “3am”  Blur’s “Song #2″  Prodigy’s “Smach my Bitch Up”  Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody?”  Marcy Playground’s “Sex and Candy”  Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” and “Slide”  Green Day’s ”Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”  Alanis Morrissette’s “Thank You.”

Last week on 3/25 I woke up with this song in my head. I had never seen the video before then and I think Shirley Manson is some combination of hot and scary that appeals to me. She seems like the kind of person who corrupt ’sweet little innocent me’ and I would be corrupted willingly.

My listening to Garbage 24/7 days are over though. I was a little obsessed when I first started listening to them. Listening to this bonus song of the day now I still feel like I just want to take my whole collection of Garbage and put it on shuffle.

I was lucky to be able to review this kit, MG MS-06F Zaku II Ver 2.0, courtesy of John Melvin. This kit is an updated version of the kit that first introduced in October 1995.

Another armament of Zaku II is the bazooka. Parts are included to make either standard bazooka, or the giant bazooka pictured above.

Bazooka’s scope has a to cover up when not in use.

Standard bazooka are smaller in size and looks more like mass-produced.

Overall, this is also a good kit, with great articulation. Each fingers have two joints. Legs are amazing and sturdy. What i like is the kit quality (better than average for an MG kit) and the moveable mono-eye!

However, what i dont like is:

• Bazooka seems quite hard to mount, especially with the big parts (giant bazooka) interfering the shoulders
• Individually moveable fingers (two joints for each); means more time required to adjust fingers, and they not strong enough to hold the weapons (so it is a must to mount it onto the palm). This particularly not good if you want it to hold other kit’s weapons such as beam rifles etc.

Still, i would recommend people to buy this kit because it’s pro’s are much more than its cons

Bé, ja estem definitivament instal.lats a la nova casa, i avui m’acaben de donar d’alta la línea ADSL, per el que espero que a partir d’ara podré tornar a actualitzar més sovint el blog, que els darrers 6 mesos he tingut força aturat, doncs sense la línia d’alta velocitat era impossible pujar videos o intentar treballar-hi amb una mica de continuitat.

A més és un dia rodó, doncs canviem l’any, un any que espero que per tots vosaltres sigui el millor de la història, i per la humanitat en general, que ens porti nous aires, tant pel que fa a l’economia, força assotregada darrerament, com a l’estabilitat i pau en els països que actualment viuen conflictes, i en general, tot i que ja sé que és una utopia, espero que es resolguin, o es posi la primera pedra per fer-ho, alguns dels grans problemes que ens afecten a tots en major o menor mesura, com el ditxòs canvi climàtic i especialment els que considero més greus, que són la fam i les malalties en el tercer món.

I com que espero molt d’aquest any, i crec que serà un any potent, vull entrar-hi amb un tema dels més canyers dels Garbage.

Aquest Temptation Waits, quedava una mica amagat entre la pila de grans temes que hi havia en aquell Version 2.0, malgrat obrir el disc, però els qui hem tingut la sort de gaudir-ne en directe, sabem de la contundència que la Shirley i Cia. poden arribar a donar-li. Us en poso un parell de versions de dues gires diferents.

Pareu especial atenció a la lletra, segurament la més suggerent de la discografia d’un dels meus grups preferits.

Bueno, ya estamos definitivamente instalados en la nueva casa, y hoy me acaban de dar de alta el ADSL, por lo que espero que  a partir de ahora podré ir actualizando de nuevo con más frecuencia el blog, que he tenido bastante parado en los seis últimos meses, ya que sin ADSL es difícil subir videos y en general trabajar en un blog como este con cierta continuidad.

Además es un dia redondo, pues cambiamos de año, un año que espero que para todos vosotros sea el mejor de la historia, y para la humanidad en general, que nos traiga nuevos aires, por lo que respecta a la economia, bastante tocada últimamente, como respecto a la estabilidad y paz en los paises que actualmente viven en conflicto, y en general, pese a que ya sé que es una utopia, espero que se resuelvan, o se ponga la primera piedra para hacerlo, algunos de los grandes problemas que nos afectan a todos en mayor o menor medida, como el dichoso cambio climático,  y especialmente los que considero más graves, el hambre y enfermedades en el tercer mundo.

Y como espero mucho de este año, y estoy convencido de que será un año potente, quiero entrar en él con un tema de los más cañeros de Garbage.

Este Temptation Waits quedaba un poco escondido entre la gran cantidad de buenos temas que contenía su disco Version 2.0, pese a que era el primer tema del mismo, pero los que hemos tenido la suerte de gozarlo en directo, sabemos de la contundencia que Shirley y Cia. pueden llegar a darle. Os pongo un par de versiones de dos giras distintas.

Prestad especial atención a la letra, seguramente la más sugerente de la discografia de uno de mis grupos preferidos.

When the iPhone first came out, I scoffed at the whole thing.  The lines, the outrageous price tag, the low capacity, the having everything in one device, everything.  Majority got one when they first came out and Unsvelt Girl Who Runs went on and on about how cool they were (but she didn’t get one).  I already had a 60G iPod that I’d gotten a year earlier and a cell phone that was old and worn out and needed to be replaced but didn’t have to cost $500.00 to do so.  I just didn’t think it made sense to buy an iPhone.

And then HE came in.  He is beautiful.  Must be nearly seven feet tall, but might as well be 20.  Slim, rugged good looks, soothing soft spoken voice and noticeably lacking in the abject pretension that I’ve grown accustomed to dealing with in my company.  Also, he’s black, so if the stereotype holds…  Perhaps I’d never go back.  And again, he has children, (I assume a wife) and he’s probably straight as a rule– well, a yard stick.  None the less, the day get’s a little brighter when he walks in the door.  He works for our in-house construction “company” and is, therefor, someone I deal with regularly. (Sidebar:  Hmmm.  Fantastical Engineers, Adorable Little Contractors and Beautiful Construction Workers!  I seem to like the rugged ones don’t I?  Don’t know what that’s about…  Anyway!)

The first conversation I ever remember having with him was about his iPhone.  He had an iPod Nano attached to his shirt, and an iPhone in his pocket.  We discussed the fact that he doesn’t put his music on his iPhone.  “Then what’s the point,” I wondered.  He told me how he’d dropped his first iPhone down an elevator shaft, and though he had paid so much money for it, and though they don’t offer replacement plans for them he “had” to have another one.  And then he let me play with it.

Nice as it might be, there was no double entendre there. I played with his iPhone for a few minutes.  After that, I was hooked.  That very day I ran out, with my “new cell phone fund” and bought my very own 16G iPhone.  I couldn’t wait to get it home and activate it and load it up and have my new functioning iPhone.  Activation was a piece of cake.  I had my phone service switched to the new phone in less than 10 minutes.  I love my iPhone.  The music on the other hand was a nightmare. I hate my iPhone.

I started to sync my music and it was dragging.  Taking several seconds for each song.  It loaded about 300 songs (I have over 3000) and it errored out.  I hate my iPhone.  I restarted it and it picked up where it left off.  This time it ws going faster (I love my iPhone) but it still was taking hours.  When I finally gave up to go to bed, I found that it still had about 800 songs to go.  I left it to finish and I went to bed. I hate my iPhone.

Out of my 300+ albums, my iTunes has located album art for all but about 12-15 of them.  I was looking forward to listening to my new iPhone, and enjoying the larger view of the album art and the “cover flow” feature.  Imagine my dismay when I picked up my phone the next morning and found that only the first 300 songs had album art and all the rest of the albums had the “no art” graphic of the music notes. I love my iPhone.  I hate my iPhone.

I had no time to deal with it, I had to go to work.  I would try again that evening.  That evening the exact same thing happened.  This time I was determined to babysit it!  I was awake until after 2:00 in the morning, only to find that the exact same scenario played out again.  I hate my iPhone.  So I did what any one would do.  I called in sick to work so I could fix it.  Any excuse not to go to work.  I love my iPhone!

I ended up having to uncheck all the music in my library and then recheck them a group at a time (I did alphabetically) and sync it and then resync it and then re-resync it, over and over again until I had all the music on my iPhone with the album art.  I hate my iPhone.  It took a lot of jumping through hoops to do it but once it was set up it was great and I loved my new iPhone. I was even rational enough to know that I was dealing with an Apple product and it was only a matter of time before something bigger and better (and cheaper) came out.  This was in April.  I didn’t know then about the 3G model, but I knew it was only a matter of time…

So it came as no surprise when I heard about the “twice as fast for half the price” 16G iPhone 3G.  And then I found out about the 2.0 version of the software for my archaic iPhone.  It’s new and exciting! Of course I had to load it up!

I did not know that this new software would wipe my iPhone clean and then take hours to load.  This was yet another overnight endeavor.  I hate my iPhone.  But when it was done all my music was there, and I had the Apps store!  I lay in bed for three hours that Saturday morning, surfing the apps store, and loading every free application I thought I might even be sort of interested in, I could always delete them later if I wanted to.  I love my iPhone.  Downloading software version 2.0 was the worst thing I’ve ever done with my iPhone.  It’s just been one problem after another!  I hate my iPhone!

A month or two ago, there was an update to the software.  Version 2.0.2.  I went ahead and downloaded that because it must only be an improvement, right?  Now my updates won’t download.  The Apps store tells me there are updates and right now I have this lovely little red circle with a white 5 in it hovering over the corner of my Apps Store button.  But if I try to install the updates it tells me that I’ve already “purchased” this application and that if I’m having trouble downloading the App, I should select “check for purchases” in iTunes.  I hate my iPhone.  When I follow these instructions I get an error message from iTunes telling me that some of my Applications couldn’t load because there was an “unknown error”.  I’ve gotten this message before, and the number of applications not loading properly is growing.  I hate my iPhone.

So last night, for the third or fourth time, I connected my iPhone to my computer to try and resolve this issue with iTunes.  For the second time, iTunes reflected the 10+G of music I have as “other”.  I disconnected my iPhone from my computer and went into the iPod function.  “You have not loaded any music.” it says. (I’m sure I’m paraphrasing.)  Bullshit I didn’t load any music.  I don’t have 12G of “other” on here.  So I had to restore my iPhone.  I hate my iPhone. I have had to “restore” my iPhone on three separate occasions, and the only good thing I can say is that the first two times my music reloaded with no issues.  (I love my iPhone?)

I started the restore process on my iPhone last night at around 5:30 p.m.  iTunes loaded about 300 songs and errored out.  I looked in iPod and the music was there but with no album art.  I restarted the sync and it picked up where it left off.  I hate my iPhone.  I went to bed at 12:30 a.m. and it was still syncing.  I hate my iPhone.  I got up at 7:00 this morning and looked at my computer.  No longer syncing.  I wasn’t sure if it was done or not so I restarted the sync and it started loading music again.  It had over 800 of my over 3000 songs to load.  I walked away and started my morning routine.  When I left for work at 8:20 it had only loaded about 120 songs.  I had to manually stop it so I could leave.  I hate my iPhone.

Ironically, all the music it loaded in my second attempt last night, and my third attempt this morning does have album art.  I love my iPhone a little bit.  The first three hundred songs however, have no album art.  I’ll have to uncheck those albums resync my phone, let it delete those albums and sync the last 700+ songs and then recheck those albums and resync it again!  If all goes well, it’ll load all the remaining music and all the album art that goes with it.  If all does not go well, I may pull a Russell Crowe and throw my iPhone at the head of one of the “Geniuses”.  I hate my iPhone.

For those of you keeping score at home, there are far more hates than there are loves.  But at $500.00, I better love the hell out of my iPhone.

The truth is, I love my iPhone.  I really love the concept of my iPhone.  And if and when they get all these bugs worked out, I will petition the state of California for a marriage license for me and my iPhone.  But until that happens, my iPhone is my bitch!  It complicates my life.  It’s uncooperative.  It points and laughs at me.  And it tells me that I’ll never be truely happy.

Come to think of it, I think I am my iPhone’s bitch.

I really can’t believe how much this kit is growing on me. I first wrote about this in detail here, and the response was mixed. But I have really come to believe that this kit exceeds what the original was capable of, as well as the ver. Ka and ver. OYW. Fine, it doesn’t have panel lines, and other cool angles and corners. But the articulation, the amount of internal detail, justifies it being at par with the Zaku II ver. 2.0, particularly Char’s Zaku II.

It can do everything that the previous RX-78-2’s were capable of…AND THEN SOME. Not all the reincarnations had the beam javelin, nor the double-jointed fingers, the core fighter with the clear plastic hood, the rocket launcher on the beam rifle and the inner frame detail that was only seen in recently release Zeon units.

Definitely a must-buy!

Media sources all over the country are reporting Apple’s iPhone’s diminishing stock. Many retail outlets are sold out and their request to acquire more is met with a resounding “no” from Apple. Pundits and techno-obsessed consumers are predicting a new version of the ground breaking iPhone will be announced at Apple’s next June keynote.

The big question that has clogged the blogosphere has been what improvements will this new version have. While most of the expected features are based on an improved network and real time GPS functions, it’s been a race to find out what else Steve Jobs has up his mock turtle neck’s sleeve.

Until now…

Folks, it’s not often that I report breaking news. Most of my stories take place in the past well after the point of them being painful. However, last week, an email fell into my inbox that I couldn’t keep to myself.

Apparently, Paul Morris at Apple didn’t get his email called “Upgrade in iPhone Features”. Instead, Patrick Morris (me), did. It brings me great pleasure to report on the new features for Apple’s upgraded iPhone called “Sabortooth”.

Smaller Size

The first version of the iPhone was small – 4.5″ x 2.4″ x 0.46″ and only weighed 4.8 oz. The new version will be even smaller. How small? How about 4.5″ x 2.4″ x 0.46″ and only weigh 4.78 oz small?

Anti-Bacterial

While Apple condemns the idea that any of its customers have germs, iPhones are often touched and held by non-Apple customers. Now iPhone users won’t have to coyly wipe down their iPhone after their friend has marveled over its brilliant touch screen capabilities.

Improved Mapping

iPhone users who often look for a faster way to get between points A and B will now have improved mapping functions. More specifically, Apple’s maps will be right while all Google-based gmaps and Yahoo/AOL-based mapquest maps will be wrong due to an unprecedented “sabotage agreement” between the respective companies.

Enhanced Sensors

Apple worked around the clock to make the design of the new iPhone even more stunning. People won’t be able to take their eyes off of it. However, Apple recognizes their users want privacy and don’t want to deal with constant onlookers watching them check their email on the subway to work. That’s why Apple installed a new sensor that can tell when someone is starring at your iPhone too long and will emit a loud laughing sound followed by a, “In-your-face-poor boy!” chant.

Also, the new iPhone will alert male users when an attractive woman is in the vicinity so they can pretend to be busy on their phone and avoid any possible human interaction.

One spot on the touch screen makes the iPhone go absolutely crazy.

Pricing

The last version of the iPhone was a major success. The one complaint centered around pricing. People were shocked to see a $600 price tag and even more shocked to see that price slashed mere months after the product was introduced. This version will start at the introductory price of $800, but in three months, the price will sky-rocket to $1,200 and a 4lb weight will be placed on to each remaining iPhone. It’s Apple’s ultimate reverse “fuck you” to its most obsessed consumers.

Stock Commitments

Unlike the first version, the second version will never sell out. In fact, Apple has created an unprecedented reward system when each milestone in quantity sold is reached. Apple has committed to the following:

- 1 million iPhone’s sold: Apple will murder Joey Fatone
- 2 million iPhone’s sold: Apple will murder Star Jones
- 3 million iPhone’s sold: Apple will murder Jay Leno

To show the consumer Apple is committed to this system, they will kill Brandon Frasier after the first iPhone is sold.

One revolutionary way iPhone is changing the way we use our mobile phones is to introduce dynamic voicemail (DyVo). iPhones cannot be operated by people who can’t name more than 8 types of cheese, 6 classical composers or have laughed at a “I’m a white guy trying to act black” joke.

Now your new iPhone can link directly to your bank account so Apple can take money directly out whenever they introduce a new product, you brainwashed robot who is too stupid to realize Apple has tricked you into buying a fancy memory chip 5 times!

I used to have big misgivings about this redesign of the old, old RX-78-2 design that was the first master grade model kit ever released. I didn’t like the face. I didn’t like the lack in detail on the shoulders. I didn’t like the feet. In short, I didn’t like it (didn’t think I was leading up to that eh?).

And then I saw the photos.

What I would like to do is buy this model kit, the Gundam ver. OYW TV colors and the Gundam ver. Ka and have them stand side by side. That would look awesome!

After seeing these photos, has anyone previously not purchasing this model kit now want to buy it?

Personally, I’m also interested in how Keita’s going to remodel this baby.
