Allora: immaginatevi la situazione. Stamattina mi sono dovuto alzare nel cuore della notte (08:00 a.m.) per andare a lezione di Scienza…che già di suo è un pessimo modo di iniziare la giornata. Sveglia e caffè, barba e bidet…presto che perdo il posto in aula. Passo sotto la porta di piazza Beccaria dove se ne stanno appostati i cingalesi addetti alla distribuzione di City e ne prendo una copia…tanto, che la voglia o no, loro trovano il modo di rifilartela. Ed è molto meglio non sfidarli, che diventano maneschi. Comunque…prima di lanciarmi sull’oroscopo,scorro veloce la prima pagina e l’occhio mi cade (e di lì a breve sarebbe stato seguito da entrambi i testicoli) su quel grazioso articoletto intitolato “BUONGIORNO” che ho fedelmente riportato qui di fianco.

Ora… va bene che siamo nati per soffrire, va bene che Leopardi era un ottimista, va bene che  se una cosa può andar male lo farà…MACCHECCAZZO! Dietro questo c’è una mente(?) umana(??) che ha trovato questa citazione e ha pensato :”Che pensiero carino con cui iniziare la giornata, quasi quasi lo condivido con tutti ” , quindi siamo ben oltre la cara vecchia sfiga che ci perseguita…ci sono proprio le intenzioni di rovinare la giornata al prossimo! Questa è cattiveria…anzi peggio, è PESSIMISMO COLPOSO.

E poi anche te, cara la mia Lisa Corva…capisco che con un nome del genere da te non ci si possa aspettare tanto di più, però dai…proviamoci un pochino! Tanto prendersela col prossimo non serve a nulla…magari ridere non sfamerà i popoli del terzo mondo, ma almeno li farà morire più contenti. Rifletti…

E comunque, un cordiale vaffanculo….

Sono appena rientrato da una lezione di Scienza delle Costruzioni (che ho seguito DA SOLO…maledetti bastardi, per vendetta vi spiegherò le cose sbagliate, BUAH AH AH AH AH ), per essere coerente con la mia bulimia intellettuale ho deciso di vomitare tutto il sapere accumulato scrivendo qualche cazzata.

Ho fatto la strada di casa con altre due povere anime che, come me, si trascinano dietro la pesante croce di Architettura – eh già, potete riconoscere uno studente di questa materia dal solco che lascia dietro di sè – e ho ascoltato la Parabola del Binocolo. Pare che la suddetta materia e relativo esame rappresentino il punto di svolta, o “scollinamento” per usare il termine esatto, nella lunga strada fino alla laurea: fino a che non lo passi è come se guardassi alla tua meta con un binocolo tenuto al contrario, come ci riesci lo strumento subisce un capovolgimento e tutto ti sembra vicino.

Mah…sarà, io ci credo…hai visto mai…

PS: quasi mi scordavo. Oggi il nostro prof. Mario Fagone detto “Bip Bip Ballerina” ha commentato l’estrazione di un fattore da radice quadrata con la seguente frase :”Questo lo posso uscire”…in capo a minuti 0,2 si è innalzata un’onda partita dalle ultime file che commentava: “Voglio fare l’USCIERE”

Simon says… Blood, Sweat, and Incense

A great gift was given to St Simon of Cyrene; a gift he didn’t want at first. He didn’t want to become involved in Our Dear Lord’s Passion. He probably would have preferred to be an anonymous face in the crowd. He was merely a strong man in the right place, at the right time. Simon was pressed into service; forced to assist our Dear Lord in His struggle. But, through this forced burden, Simon became a great saint.

What did Simon see in our Lord’s Holy Face as he took up the burden of the cross with Him? Did he see the sorrow, mercy, compassion and Divine Love that Jesus has for each one of us?

With each step, Simon labored one step closer to sainthood. Each step gave him a new understanding of the mission of our Lord and Savior. Only Simon was asked to walk with Jesus in such an intimate way–shouldering His physical burden with Him.

Surely, some of our Lord’s Precious Blood must have transferred to Simon’s tunic. Only Simon was close enough to have smelled the sweetness of our Christ’s suffering–to have put on the Odor of Christ.

It is hard to imagine that the Son of God would have smelled the way we would smell under those circumstances–of dirt and sweat and blood. Is it possible that Jesus’ aroma was, instead, the sweetness of incense as He offered His Sacrifice to Our Father in Heaven?

The sweet aroma of incense at Mass must pale in comparison to the sweetness of the Sacrifice as It was first offered. The altar server who holds the thurible knows how the fragrance of the incense lingers on your hand.

But only Saint Simon of Cyrene walked so closely with Jesus as to have the Aroma of His Sacrifice linger on him.

Il pellegrinaggio diocesano all’inizio di settembre guidato dal cardinale Vallini. In programma visita ai santuari, Via Crucis e processione eucaristica. Anche una delegazione Caritas di R. S.

«Un’occasione privilegiata per approfondire il senso di appartenenza ecclesiale e la corresponsabilità pastorale». È così che il cardinale Agostino Vallini definisce il pellegrinaggio della diocesi di Roma a Lourdes, che guiderà dal 1° al 4 settembre prossimi. La Messa presso la Grotta delle apparizioni, la Via Crucis, la processione eucaristica con la benedizione degli ammalati, la visita ai santuari e ai «ricordi» di Bernadette saranno le tradizionali mete di questo viaggio spirituale che vedrà partecipare anche il sindaco Gianni Alemanno e una rappresentanza dei dipendenti del Comune di Roma.

Presentato lo scorso 24 giugno, l’evento di preghiera è organizzato dall’Opera romana pellegrinaggi in collaborazione con il Comune e l’Ipa (l’Istituto di previdenza e assistenza per i dipendenti della stessa amministrazione municipale). Per quanti vorranno partecipare ricordiamo che sarà possibile partire solamente in aereo (1-4 settembre), e non anche in treno come era stato in un primo tempo ipotizzato dagli organizzatori.

Una delegazione di ospiti e volontari delle case famiglia per malati di Aids di Villa Glori rappresenterà la Caritas nel pellegrinaggio diocesano a Lourdes. Il gruppo sarà accompagnato da monsignor Guerino Di Tora, vescovo ausiliare per il settore Nord, finora direttore della Caritas diocesana.

Lourdes – Dopo la Celebrazione Penitenziale della mattina, nel pomeriggio c’è stata una partecipazione sentita e raccolta alla via Crucis al Prato e, subito dopo, Sua Eccellenza Mons. Alberto Maria Careggio ha celebrato, la Santa Messa alla Basilica del Rosario

Stamattina alla presenza dell’arciprete don Giuseppe Sunseri e del Sindaco Salvatore Badami e del consiglierie provinciale di Misilmeri e di alcuni cittadini, il presidente della provincia Giovanni Avanti ha inaugurato l’apertura del cantiere per il restauro della Via Crucis, all’interno della chiesa Madre. I lavori di restauro sono stati affidati alla ditta Bertolino di Palermo. Questa via crucis ha un’importanza storica molto rilevante, è stata dipinta su tavole di ardesia incastonate nelle pareti della chiesa, ad opera del Pittore palermitano Vito D’anna nel 1767, come risulta da alcuni documenti dell’archivio parrcchiale, un’altra opera del pittore palermitano è la pala d’altare raffigurante l’Immacolata Concezione. Al termine della presentazione si è parlato della rete che offusca la volta della nostra madrice, con la speranza che venga rimossa presto. Il termine dei lavori è previsto per Ottobre 2009.

La Messa presso la Grotta delle apparizioni, la Via Crucis, la processione eucaristica con la benedizione degli ammalati, la visita ai santuari e ai «ricordi» di Bernadette. Sarà un pellegrinaggio come tutti gli altri, quello che dal 1° al 4 settembre porterà a Lourdes laici, sacerdoti, religiosi e religiose della diocesi di Roma. Ma nello stesso tempo sarà diverso da tutti gli altri: all’indomani del Convegno ecclesiale, in apertura di un anno pastorale tutto dedicato alla verifica, sarà un’occasione privilegiata per «approfondire il senso di appartenenza ecclesiale e la corresponsabilità pastorale». Lo spiega il cardinale Agostino Vallini – che guiderà i quattro giorni di pellegrinaggio – in una lettera indirizzata a parroci, sacerdoti e fedeli laici.

E citando il Papa prosegue: «In Maria, l’Immacolata, incontriamo l’essenza della Chiesa in modo non deformato. Da lei dobbiamo imparare a diventare noi stessi “anime ecclesiali”». Per la diocesi di Roma, che ogni anno come tradizione si mette in cammino da pellegrina verso la Grotta di Massabielle, dove la Vergine apparve a Santa Bernadette, è un’occasione per «affidare alla materna protezione di Maria» la comunità ecclesiale e l’itinerario apostolico e pastorale che la attende. Per questo l’invito del cardinale va in particolare a parrocchie, associazioni e movimenti perché si uniscano all’iniziativa diocesana, «favorendo la partecipazione di tanti fedeli».

L’organizzazione, come di consueto, è a cura dell’Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi, che offre la possibilità di partire in nave (30 agosto-5 settembre), in treno (31 agosto-5 settembre) o in aereo (1-4 settembre). A Lourdes quindi tutta la diocesi si stringerà intorno al cardinale per vivere con lui quattro giornate intense di preghiera che si concluderanno il 4 settembre, con la celebrazione della Messa e il saluto alla Vergine. Pope Benedict XVI continues his mission of peace and hope.  The Vatican reports:

At 10.15 a.m. today the Holy Father visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where he was received by six representatives from the three institutions (Greek Orthodox Church, Custody of the Holy Land and Armenian Apostolic Church) responsible for the “Status Quo”, the agreement regulating the administration of the site. Coptic, Syrian and Ethiopian Orthodox may also officiate in the basilica.

According to tradition, the Holy Sepulchre is located on the site where Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again. It was known as Golgotha (which means skull in Aramaic, so-called for the rounded form of the mount). At the entrance of the basilica, in the atrium, is the Stone of the Anointing, a long block of polished red limestone. Surrounded by candelabra and eight lamps, it constitutes the thirteenth station of the “Via Crucis” (Way of the Cross). According to tradition, this marks the spot where Jesus, having been taken from the cross, was anointed. In the centre of the shrine and housed within a rectangular structure, lies the Holy Sepulchre itself, the fourteenth station of the Via Crucis.

The facade of the structure is covered with hanging lamps and silver spheres. Over the door there are three depictions of the Resurrection: Latin, Greek and Armenian. The small wooden door is always open except during the moment that the Armenian or Greek celebrant must remain alone, as prescribed by the liturgy. The structure houses a small vestibule called the Chapel of the Angel (announcement of the Resurrection to the holy women). A further door gives access to the Holy Sepulchre itself where a marble slab covers the original stone upon which Jesus’ body was placed.

Restoration work began in 1971, financed by the three communities that co- own the site. In 1994 the Custody of the Holy Land, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Armenian Apostolic Patriarch of Jerusalem signed a historic agreement for the restoration and decoration of the dome of the Anastasis. Work was completed in 1997.

Benedict XVI prayed at the Stone of the Anointing and at the empty tomb of the Resurrection. Then, having received the greetings of Fr. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Custos of the Holy Land, and of His Beatitude Fouad Twal, Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, he pronounced a brief address.

“Here Christ died and rose, never to die again”, said the Pope. “Here the history of humanity was decisively changed. The long reign of sin and death was shattered by the triumph of obedience and life; the wood of the cross lay bare the truth about good and evil. … Here Christ, the new Adam, taught us that evil never has the last word, that love is stronger than death, that our future, and the future of all humanity, lies in the hands of a faithful and provident God.

“The empty tomb speaks to us of hope, the hope that does not disappoint because it is the gift of the Spirit of life”, he added. “This is the message that I wish to leave with you today, at the conclusion of my pilgrimage to the Holy Land. May hope rise up ever anew, by God’s grace, in the hearts of all the people dwelling in these lands! May it take root in your hearts, abide in your families and communities”.

“The Church in the Holy Land, which has so often experienced the dark mystery of Golgotha, must never cease to be an intrepid herald of the luminous message of hope which this empty tomb proclaims. The Gospel reassures us that God can make all things new, that history need not be repeated, that memories can be healed, that the bitter fruits of recrimination and hostility can be overcome, and that a future of justice, peace, prosperity and co-operation can arise for every man and woman, for the whole human family, and in a special way for the people who dwell in this land so dear to the heart of the Saviour”.

The Holy Father went on: “This ancient Memorial of the Anastasis bears mute witness both to the burden of our past, with its failings, misunderstandings and conflicts, and to the glorious promise which continues to radiate from Christ’s empty tomb. … Even now, the grace of the resurrection is at work within us! May our contemplation of this mystery spur our efforts, both as individuals and as members of the ecclesial community, to grow in the life of the Spirit through conversion, penance and prayer. May it help us to overcome, by the power of that same Spirit, every conflict and tension born of the flesh, and to remove every obstacle, both within and without, standing in the way of our common witness to Christ and the reconciling power of His love.

“With these words of encouragement”, the Holy Father ended his remarks, “I conclude my pilgrimage to the holy places of our redemption and rebirth in Christ. I pray that the Church in the Holy Land will always draw new strength from her contemplation of the empty tomb of the Saviour. In that tomb she is called to bury all her anxieties and fears, in order to rise again each day and continue her journey through the streets of Jerusalem, Galilee and beyond, proclaiming the triumph of Christ’s forgiveness and the promise of new life”.

Having concluded his address, Benedict XVI moved on to the Chapel of the Apparition. There he paused in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament before climbing up to Golgotha where he prayed at the site of Calvary. Then, his visit complete, he travelled by car the Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

Las celebraciones de la Semana Santa y la Pascua han terminado. Nuestra sagrada imagen con su Trono-Anda está expuesta en el Museo de la Semana Santa “SALVADOR CAURÍN” allí, podéis verla. Hemos vivido desde nuestra fundación la más importante para nosotros Semana Santa, nuestra imagen del Señor de Getsemaní ha procesionado en tres ocasiones, la tarde del Domingo de Ramos tras su bendición, la noche de Miércoles Santo, en la procesión del Olivo y la mañana del Viernes Santo en el Solemne Via-Crucis. No pudo procesionar la tarde del Viernes Santo la climatología lo impidió. Esperamos que el año próximo pueda ser acompañado por la imagen del ángel que lo conforta. GRACIAS, a las cofradías de la Junta Parroquial de Ntra.Sra de la Ángeles, a la Junta Mayor a todas aquellas personas que de una manera u otra nos han ayudado.
