Victoria is giving her almost vanished denim label a rebirth. Formerly knwown as dVb, it will now simly be called Victoria Beckham Denim.

The jeans were given a high-end makeover, and are sharper and sleeker than the original dVb’s. Not to forget the super slouchy boyfriend jeans, that probably gave her back the ‘denim-credibility’. In the range there are also sixties sweet pastel cigarette pants with contrasting inserts. She even goes beyond jeans with a range of leggings in bright colours.

If one would ask Victoria how to wear the jeans from her refreshed label, she’ll probably answer you this: ‘With towering heels ofcourse!’

I think it’s good that shes doing it with a designer rather than on her own, because when musicians try it it often turns out bad…Yes i’m talking about you Victoria Beckham!

The other day I walked past a store and noticed several flat screen TVs blasting the same concert footage from every window.  I’m not sure who the singer was.  From various angles it could have been Beyonce, Mariah Carey or Britney Spears or someone else entirely.  The honey skinned, blonde-ish sultry chanteuse in question was clad in a shimmery itty bitty bikini and shaking various parts of her anatomy much to the delight of the crowd.

I stopped for a moment, mesmerized.

Based on the size of the audience at the concert I’m guessing she was an A-List singer and a huge draw to potential shoppers.

Based on the fact that I could not hear her voice, but could see various, jiggling and exposed parts, I was incredibly sad.  Why should a talented young woman have to rely on dressing up as a stripper to gain attention for her vocal talents?

I’m not much of a TV watcher, but a few recent musical interludes further fueled my rant on musical exposure of  young women.

Ray Davies appeared on David Letterman last week clad in scruffy pants with a shirt that may or may not have matched.  His performance was sublime with nary a choreographed hip shimmy in sight.  Shakira, on the other hand, who appeared on the show earlier in the week, seemed too busy awkwardly contorting her body to concentrate even on lip syncing.

Lady GaGa appeared on the American Music Awards the other night clad in a pair of flesh colored shorts while draped in some sort of neon snake like body belt.  Think Elton John in his early days, only without pants or a shirt and you’re close.  Her fierce talent was eclipsed by her regularly exposed posterior.

Don’t get me wrong. I love a great live musical performance.  What I don’t love is the notion that it’s become the norm for young female singers to perform dressed as burlesque dancers or strippers to gain some sort of mass approval of their music.  There is enough pressure on women and too much emphasis based on the ideal of female beauty over the realities and struggles that most women face.

Two more pop culture references and I promise that I’m done.

1. Tween sensation Justin Bieber’s appearance at a mall recently set off a riot by over 3,000 screaming young girls.

2. According to The Wall Street Journal “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” beat out both “The Dark Knight” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” by taking in $72.7  million on its first day – the largest opening-day box office gross on record,

My point? Young girls have incredible buying power and clout and what they’re spending on and eager to see over all else is a squeaky clean barely pubescent boy and a film extolling the virtues of abstinence.  It’s only when women get older that they become less desirable and respected a demographic to music marketers and/or the film industry.  Somewhere in the middle of all of that, the more musically inclined amongst them are expected to primp and pout and shimmy while singing for their supper.

Cheryl Cole has pipped Victoria Beckham to land the title of Britain’s top-earning WAG after doubling her fortune over the past two years.

The X-Factor judge was said to have grossed an estimated 6.9 million pounds, thanks to TV and sponsorship deals, a soaring solo music career, endorsements and property agreements.

The 26-year-old, who lives in a 3.5-million-pound mansion with Chelsea star hubby Ashley Cole, beat David Beckham’s better half who reportedly grossed 6.75 million pounds over the last two years.

“It’s the end of Posh Spice’s reign. Queen Victoria is on her way out. And there’s a new princess ready to take her crown,” the News of the World quoted a source as saying.

The source added: “There’s much more in the pipeline. She has the potential to be massive and leave other Wags – including Posh – behind.”

The source went on: “There isn’t the same buzz about new, fresh, lucrative contracts. While Victoria’s slipping down in many people’s eyes, Cheryl’s star is on the up.”

Experts claim that it looks like the mum-of-three stays stick-thin by eating too little.

“She has taken calorie restriction to new extremes,” the Sun quoted Personal trainer Ged Musto as saying.

The soccer ace says he’s impressed how well his three sons have adjusted in their new school in Los Angeles.

David was so proud of his eldest son Brooklyn for scoring top marks on his homework that he purchased a reptile for their 10-year-old child.

“I sat down with him (Brooklyn) the other day to do his homework and I couldn”t understand a word of it. It’’s so complicated that I just help him with his reading. We promised him recently that if he got three As we”d buy him a bearded dragon lizard, which is my worst nightmare,” Contactmusic quoted David as saying.

“He came home from school the other day and handed me three sheets of paper with three As on it, so we had to go to (pet shop) Petco.

“Our house is full of wildlife at the moment, crickets, lizards and all sorts, but they deserve it. Brooklyn works hard at school and then does an hour and a half homework every night.

“He doesn”t have time to play football at the moment, as he goes to baseball practice and plays flag American football, which is non-contact, but he still loves having a kick-around with me.

“As long as they”re involved in any sport, I don”t mind, as it’’s so important for kids to be active,” he added.

Victoria Beckham is thin. Amazingly thin. And not because she’s sick, but because she keeps her weight under strict control. She doesn’t take pills, she’s not anorexic and she doesn’t follow some bizarre diet. she’s just having a very good control over her life.

In an interview with U.S. magazine Allure, Posh Spice said it’s easy to be thin and she manage it in three simple steps, followed each day: in the morning she’s drinking a double espresso, then runs like crazy on the step band, she doesn’t eat fast food or fat dishes and she usually limits to simple salads.

However, the star’s mother said in a recent interview that her daughter doesn’t find it easy controlling when it comes to food and she often goes over the edge. Who should we believe, Victoria or her mother?

This time we gonna give credit to Victoria. Her incredible figure says it all.

I’ve never seen the X Factor, the show that’s pulling in all the ratings in the UK. Apparently nearly 15 million saw Cheryl Cole perform her new single. Cheryl who? She married a footballer, apparently. A dumb one at that. So now we have He Cole and She Cole. Apparently one was enough, we needed a pair of plonkers. He cheated, she put on sunglasses to hide the swollen eyes……and they lived happily ever after. He showed remorse. He had to, she’s the bigger meal ticket now. It won’t be long before he pops up in the audience of X Factor for a personality remake. We’ll have a load of close ups of him,  they’ll tell him  to smile and applaud enthusiastically and he’ll jump up and down so the camera can catch him. It’s called grooming.

Before long it’ll become the two of them. They’ll want to put them in the jungle, ‘I’m an ass Cole, get me out of here.’ The TV program makers nowadays need the easiest, dumbest material to work with, they’ll be welcomed with open arms. They put them in a bath with cockroaches ( insert your own choice of footballers here) and they’ll make them eat things that wriggle. She’ll scream and he’ll sneak off and shag someone and the ratings will hit the roof. He’ll be sorry. He is sorry, very sorry. And then it’ll be over and they’ll go home richer and happier because the publicity will be everywhere. What supermarket wouldn’t want them to open their new perfume department. And then there’s the books

Do I sound bitter? Never, just disillusioned. I’d love to meet the person who first thought all this shite was an idea worth pursuing in the first place. He (it’s bound to be a bloke) should be flogged, publicly. The ratings would be excellent. Worse still why is a public accepting of this. What’s wrong with you Britain, you pay your license fee and you let them do this to you. At least in the USA you don’t have to pay for cable if you don’t like it. ( I don’t) Neither do I have 400 channels, all of them showing varying degrees of crap. People are going to the gym nowadays to work on their wrists so they can channel hop, it’s tiring. I make better TV in my head and it’s free. Pop round sometime.

It’s always interesting to observe from a distance and comment on something you haven’t actually seen but by all accounts, it’s not that hard. Same female judges who just seem to look the part, not that either has any relevance in being able to mentor or guide anyone. They are both nothing short of average, why would anyone give a flying fuck about any advice they gave them. After all no one in their right mind would aspire to wanting to be them….or would they? Has Victoria Spice, sorry Beckham( better brand) shaped the future for the female icon. Wherever she got the name ‘Posh’ from I have no clue unless pops having some dosh allows you to claim the title. Posh must mean wealthy, it used to mean upper class. Mmm, not quite sure where that fits, she’s not that…

This is sure to continue ( I haven’t even mentioned Simon Cowell! )but now I must return to more mundane things like sorting out my life. It’s there it just needs some order. What I can promise you is plenty more from Blog Tone. It all started here for me in Blogsville, I loved it and it lead to my book and already I have more I’m itching to write. I don’t seem to get the time to blog. I’m an idiot, pass me a football and make it a posh one.

Victoria Beckham was spotted treating her 3 boys, Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn to some Yogurtland yesterday.

The petite mama had to wrangle her youngest Cruz after he started to throw a bit of a temper tantrum on their way into the store.

Even in her 5 inch heels, she managed to drag him along when he dug his heals in..Impressive!

She did, however, have a chat with the little sparkplug after he threw himself onto the ground.
