HP has finally come out with an affordable All-in-One PC with the HP Pavilion MS200, its first non-touch option in the segment.

The MS200 is a stylish, fully featured, one-piece PC where everything is tucked away behind the 18.5-inch diagonal 16:9 widescreen display.

So, no more cable clutter or messy peripherals, just lots of space on the desk. The MS200 features an AMD dual-core processor for increased efficiency and speed and is Energy Star 5.0 qualified.

The MS200 is available from Rs 36,990 onwards. HP has also announced two new TouchSmart models — the HP TouchSmart300 and HP TouchSmart600 priced Rs 59,990 and Rs 89,990, respectively.

A new view of IndiaVIEWSONIC is becoming serious about the India market and launched a wide range of its products here last week.

While ViewSonic LCDs and projectors were available till now through resellers, the company now plans to open exclusive outlets for its products like the ViewBook, All-In-One PC, Mini PC and mediaplayers.

The ViewBook, which looks strikingly like the MacBook, could be a winner with its Aluminum-Magnesium alloy enclosure, extendable battery life and other high performance features.

Hope the company gets its pricing, yet unannounced, right. Another thing that caught our eye was the VPD 500 Mediaplayer with the 5″ screen, 8 GB memory and HD output. The player, ideal for movie buffs, also supports ebooks.

Zino attacks the Mini spaceHAS the Mac Mini met its miniature match? Well, the Dell Zino, or the Inspiron Zino HD, comes in a box a bit bigger than the Mini, and adds some cosmetic flavor to the category with a selection of ten replaceable, colorful lids.

The “nettop” will arrive in a few configurations, starting at about $230 running Windows Vista operating system. The processors in all models will be supplied by AMD—not your everyday Intel Atom—and will be able to accommodate an optical multi-drive as well as a Blu-ray disc player.

The higher-priced model (at $650, including a 20-inch monitor) also gets an HDMI output, a 500-GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Home Premium.

The Apple Mini, meanwhile, soldiers on the desktop, starting at $600 and recently updated with slightly faster processors and more memory.

In July alongside with other gear, ViewSonic showed this VPD400 MovieBook media player, which is available right away for $129.99.

It has a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 display, 8GB of internal memory, a micro SD card slot for more, an AV out port for some bigger screen viewing (not HDMI, it seems), and 12 hours of battery life for audio and six for video. You can choose between black, pink or white color options.

The bad part is that has no WiFi connectivity and no touchscreen options.

ViewSonic VT2430 HDTV, Great Tv all arround. ($249.99~$382.33)

The VT2430 24-inch was selected as the smallest set compatible with our dinette area. One thing usually overlooked as regards sizing is how legible English subtitles appear at typical viewing distances. The 24-inch set gives ample legibility for the furthest viewer (11 feet) without sacrificing detail for the closest (7). Tech recommendations specify a minimum screen size of 40 inches for 10 feet viewing distance — much too large to keep in our dinette.

This works out perfectly with the 1920×1080i signals coming via my cable. And…the pictures are absolutely stunning! More so than I even expected, even already knowing the quality of Viewsonic monitors. And there are plenty of options for modifying and managing the images from all inputs. One reason for returning a Toshiba unit was that it’s native resolution is 1680×1050 pixels, which, when fed a 1920×1080 pixel signal (HDTV) stretches the image vertically…without any way of correcting the distortion. In fact, the manual states that “image size adjustments are not available with 720i and 1080i signals”! VERY poor planning as most cable signals are either 790i or 1080i. The audio was another problem I found with all of the other units I tried. Most of them were either too low in volume or, when the volume was turned up became very distorted. Not so with the VT2430. Plenty of clean sound at all volume settings, including loud enough for filling the rooms where I do my training.

Set-up and remote use are very easy. The best surprise was perhaps the on-screen DTV program “Guide” the VT2430 provides. The program listing was not expected and is sometimes very convenient, as our local newspaper does not carry DTV channel listings yet. Wish my old Sharp had that feature. The overall picture of this monitor is far more accurate, clean, and viewable than any of the other monitors I looked at. The dynamic range is very wide, including the darker colors and grays and blacks, but closer than any other comparable sized monitor.

First off: my Monitor dies, i had a very good Samsung monitor for about 3-4 years, i’ve newer had a single problem with it. its a Syncmaster

930BF. a nice 19 inch 5:4 Monitor… and all of a sudden: Poof! no monitor for Frank anymore

So i consulted with my dad who had a 19 inc Viewsonic standing and collecting dust, i could have that till my own was working again

Well, i guess it could be worse, at least my computer didnt die… [Facepalm]

Now skip to about one and a half month later. i wake up a morning and turns on my rig… no signal to the monitor
i try replugging the cables, turning both monitor and rig off, testing with the Laptop… the Monitor works, but i still dont have a signal from my computer… so what i do is: pop open the case, have a look at the graphics card, dust it off and try again… still nothing.

i try repluggin the cables and the Power supply but nothing… I try the onboard VGA input and PRESTO! i got signal.

The WD TV is still more or less the king of the tiny media player boxes, but now Viewsonic is getting into the game at a lower price point — and minus the whole network compatibility bit. The VMP70 is a "direct connect" media device, so it will play content from your choice of USB-compatible storage, pumping it at up to 1080p to your display over HDMI or component cables, also sporting composite for lower-def fare. It packs an S/PDIF port to get clean audio, and supports a slew of formats including the usual suspects (DivX,Xvid,H.264) along with some slightly less usual ones (RM/RMVB, DTS, OGG). It’s all available for an MSRP of $129.99, but order now and you’ll get special holiday pricing of $98.99. Operators are standing by… somewhere… probably.

I was having some issues when trying to use my ViewSonic VX2835WM Monitor with my ATI Radeon HD 3200. Basically when using HDMI I was losing an inch or so on each side of the screen… well the fix was simple, change to VGA… hehehe just kidding.

If you click the button 1 on your monitor you will invoke a menu; select the option “Manual Image Adjust”, then you select the option “Aspect Ratio” and make sure (or select) the option “1 : 1″. For me it fixed all the issues and I see now the screen as should be with a resolution of 1920*1200.

Enjoy and hope this will also work for you.

ViewSonic’s new ViewBook netbook is a 10-inch machine running the Intel Atom, and is expected to ship soon at around $349.

A new 13.3″ laptop is also on the way from ViewSonic, using an Intel CULV chip and shipping at $899. Both the Viewbook netbook and the new laptop are designed by an outside firm that’s done work on ViewSonic displays before.

ViewSonic VP/GM Jeff Volpe explained that the new netbook and notebook will offset depressing sales figures in the display market in recent months. ViewSonic’s recently announced e-Reader is expected to make a dent as well.

In late July we heard about ViewSonic offering new netbooks in the future, more specifically the VNB100 and the VNB101. As a refresher, both of these models have: a 10.2-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, WiFi, and a card reader. The differences? The VNB100 has: an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU, a 1.3MP webcam, and three USB 2.0 ports; meanwhile, the VNB101 has: an Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz CPU, a 0.3MP webcam, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and two USB 2.0 ports.

These two notebooks are now available. The VNB100 weighs 1.4kg and costs £299 ($488 USD); the VNB101 weighs 1.1kg and costs £329 ($537 USD).
