NEW DELHI: CBI has filed a chargesheet in a Delhi court against nine persons, including three officials of Punjab National Bank, for allegedly

granting credit facility of Rs 1.25 crore to a private firm on the basis of over-valued mortgaged properties.

CBI files chargesheet in banking fraud of Rs 1.25 cr

“Investigation has revealed that the accused bank officials, by their act of omission and commission, disregarded the norms and banking rules, entered into a criminal conspiracy with private persons and caused a loss of Rs 1.25 crore to the bank,” the chargesheet filed before special CBI Judge O P Saini said.

After taking CBI’s probe report into the records, the court has now fixed the matter for consideration and cognizance on October 21.

The probe agency has sought prosecution of nine accused including two bank officials, Nisha Jolly and Anil Wanchoo, and Avinash Goel, his wife Seema and Vikas Goel, partners of private firm A B International which had availed the credit facilities.

A L Pahwa, a former Bank employee, who allegedly had played a crucial role in the fraud, died during the probe, CBI said.

The firm, engaged in export of garments, had opened an account with PNB at its Defence Colony branch and sought credit facilities by proposing to mortgage its three properties in the capital, CBI said.

MUMBAI (Reuters) – Mumbai Railway Vikas Corp will invite bids from international players for electrical work for a project in India’s financial capital in the next two months, its managing director said on Friday.

The bids have been called for the second phase of Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP), while orders will be placed in the next six months, P.C. Sehgal told reporters.

“We will be inviting international bids for electrical work worth 15 billion rupees ,” Sehgal said.

MUTP-Phase 2 is a project to upgrade Mumbai’s railway infrastructure with a cost of 53 billion rupees, he said.

The project involves replacing all the coaches of Mumbai’s suburban local trains, converting DC (direct current) lines to AC (alternating current) lines and laying additional tracks and will be completed by 2015.

The first phase of MUTP saw participation from global players such as ABB, Areva, Alstom, Siemens and Korea-based Ilgine, Sehgal said.

Back in January 2009, after we developed the entire concept of Entrepreneurship Development, we wanted to test it out through a small run. We ran the process in Satara in which we gathered applications, put them all on tasks, ranked them, interviewed them and finally selected 3 that we thought were potential entrepreneurs. 

Here’s some info on their businesses and the problems we faced initially. Also have some pictures of their businesses up! Would love to know your feedback and comments.

1) Yogesh Ozardekar + Vikas Ramchandra 

District: Satara

Loan amount: Rs. 2,00,000 (Rs. 1 lakh each)

Business proposal: Manufacturing light bulbs from Wai village in Satara. The two-people team approached a local light bulb company to assemble the bulbs. They invested in two small plants to manufacture for Rs. 1,50,000. The remaining amount was used for furniture, rent deposit etc. The company provides them with all the materials, and they assemble the bulbs, earning Rs. 6 per bulb. 

Problems associated with business: none so far

Average revenue per month: Rs. 20,000 

Average profit per month (EBITDA): Rs. 8000

Started business: March 2009

EMI payments: Regular 

2) Santosh Bapu Chavan

District: Satara

Loan Amount: Rs. 1,00,000

Business Proposal: Cow rearing. Santosh purchased 3 cows for Rs. 30,000 each and built a shed in the land he owned behind his home. The 3 cows together give approximately 30 ltrs each of milk daily and he sells the milk to the dairy at Rs. 8 per ltr. He also grows crops in his land such as corn and jowar for which he gets income twice a year. The cows are purchased when they are pregnant, so the calves they deliver will be sold after 18 months at Rs. 35,000 each. 

Problems associated with business: cows are high maintenance, and fodder is expensive. Also in his case, one of the calves died during delivery, so he is now left with 2 calves and 3 cows. 

Average revenue per month from cow: Rs. 6000

Average revenue per month from other sources (crops etc): Rs. 6000

Average profit per month (EBITDA): Rs. 4000

3) Sandesh Jagannath Jadhav

District: Satara

Loan Amount: Rs. 50,000

Business Proposal: Sandesh asked for a loan to set up a small workshop that manufactures two wheeler (motorbikes, scooters, etc) handle covers. The loan consists of a machine to cut the rubber material, and the rest to build the shed. Sandesh worked in Mumbai as a mechanic, where he was laid off because his heart surgery prevented him from doing any strenuous labour. On returning to his village in Wai, Satara he trained himself in making motorbike handles and approached us for a loan to sell them. His mother once eloquently told us “If you think you have given my son only a loan, you are mistaken; you have given me my son’s life back.” 

Problems associated with business: none so far

Average revenue per month: Rs. 4000

Average profit per month (EBITDA): Rs. 2500

Started business: March 2009

[SHEYPS] FOR PEACE is a fashion art show which involves collaboration between Lasalle’s fashion designes, fine artists, media artists and acclaimed fashion photographer Jerry Aurum. It is also one of the main event of the inaugural Lasalle Arts Management Diploma Show which brings together various faculties to showcase artistic and management talents of future artists and arts managers.

The theme and title of the fashion show is derived from the dictionary pronunciation of ’shapes’. The definition of the theme is to put together different basic shapes like squares, triangles and circles to create work that exemplifies harmony and unity. It parallels with what the exhibition aims to achieve through the collaborative efforts of various shapes represented by individuals of different creative backgrounds. Eventually, these artists will be working together to create a unified and harmonious work, the exhibition. The theme also mirrors the diverse multi cultures of our society and how we have excelled in our quest for harmonious living and Peace.

The idea of [SHEYPS] For Peace came about when I wanted to create something fun in the college. Ever since I moved to Singapore, I noticed that there aren’t very much events within the college and even if there are, they are usually organized within the faculty. Passion, fun and hard work are important factors that has contributed to the success of this project. Although working with different people was very challenging, it served as a great learning experience. It goes beyond getting good grades in school. My aim is to see more of Lasalle students and anyone to undertake such projects as it makes learning more fun, enjoyable and most importantly meaningful. The reason for [SHEYPS] is because ‘Differences are power, Love is the magic, and Peace is what we are looking for.’

Hence, I would like to thank and congratulate everyone who participated in this project from the deepest of my heart, it would not be possible without everyone supports, effort and participations

I remembered, i asked him for his feedback on my work and he told me that “Patricia you are working, but you are running in circles, where are you going ?” and i questioned him about life, after few weeks i tried to find what it is that i am really looking for, and I simply just sit at the garden near my house, doing nothing, at that point of time I know the answer. 

My dearest friend Jerry Aurum, who taught me a lot of things, for every single positive support, and to made me realized my dream. When I first met him, I told him that his work in Femalography inspired me and it gave me this desire to be like them, you know so beautiful and strong. Someone who knows exactly what they want, and unexpectedly he gave me an opportunity to work with him, it was unbelievable. I went to the toilet after he left and was in stoned for like 10 minutes because I was shocked. hahaha! When I complain or in doubt he keep saying that “If you really really want it, everything is possible”. Thank you, really. i will remember it forever as well

My Saturday night began when I went to Råslätt (the neighborhood) and Selma (The girl.). It was her 20th birthday and naturally I brought a gift. kebab-meat.

I arrived around 8. As it turned out I was one out of only 2 boys, surronded by like 10 girls. We played the game sanning eller konsekvens for like 2 hours and I quickly got drunk. I didn’t have to do nothing to nasty. Selma did a lot of shots and was soon as wasted as me.

Around eleven a clock we went back to the city, I meet Vikas, Khalid and Erik. The girls went to centrum, I went to Akademin with the boys. Later one it turned out Hanna and Karin had arrived at akademin as well.

When Akademin closed down at 2 I went to an afterparty at Karins place. It was me and Erik, Hanna, Karin and a lot of random boys I’ve never meet before. Me and Erik left around 4. I pointed him in the direction of the school. The birds were singing and the sun was getting up. I naturally didn’t get home to sleep. I went for a walk. It was cool.

The time is now 5 a clock. The sun is up. I don’t feel like sleepin’. My plan for the day is to make and eat breakfast at 7. Go to the gym around 8. Study at school around half past nine. Eat lunch at 12. Study until 4 and then go home to sleep. It’s going to be a pretty okay day.

I am tired. God morning.

Swedish students party Wednesdays. Mostly because it takes them like 3 days to get over the hangover since Saturday.

My Wednesday night was not an exception. I tried to do my usual routine and sent Erik a text. Erik replied that he was going to study his arse of since he had an exam friday and that I sucked if I were to nag him into partying.I made Vikas and Khalid party with me instead.

When I went to pick up Vikas in school it turned out he was sittin’ in the same room as Erik. We then spent about an hour drinkin’ moderately and ridiculing Erik trying to make him party with us. We did not succeed. He was adamant about the need for him to be able to study the mornin’ after. In retrospect it turns out he didn’t study anyway.

Vikas and I dropped his computer of at a friend of his place in Alpha house. We then proceeded to Akademin, sharing a 50cl vodka bottle between us as we were walking. We finished the bottle about the same time as we reached Akademin, got in and bought beer. Vikas did the stripper-pole thing. We sang TNT by AC/DC and before I knew it Khalid showed up with his Russian neighbor.

It was about this time the Vodka really hit me. And more importantly, it hit Vikas. He started going up towards women shouting “I’m TNT!” on the top of his lungs. He obviously found it to a be a brilliant way to pick up women. It wasn’t. It’s the first time I’ve seen women actually run away from someone inside a bar.

I had 5 more beers, spoke to persons I know and persons I’ve never seen before. This girl walked up to me and said “Hello, your name is Pontus and you study commercial law.” I was surprised as I’ve never seen her before. She then told me that she had meet me like the first week of school. Turns out I had walked around, inside Akademin, and shook everyones hand, stating my name and choice of education and then leaving them. Obviously I have no recollection of the incident in question.

Later on Vikas picked a fight with Khalid about religion. No one of them have any idea why they were fighting today, but they were quite passionate Wednesday. I told them that religion was the opium of the people and only retards would ruin a good evening arguing about some elphantheaded spirit. Then we bought beer.

I Went home around 2. Called Mal. It was expensive. I should stop calling her when drunk. She shows no appreciation of me, not matter how expensive the mode of conversation may be.

Khalid was supposed to crash at Vikas place. Spoke with Vikas Thursday and it turns out he woke up in a friends bed in Alpha house. We still have no ideá what happened with Khalid.

ನಮ್ಮಜ್ಜಿ ನಾವು ಚಿಕ್ಕವರಿದ್ದಾಗ ಬೈಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ‘ಬಾಗಿಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ. ದೇವರು ಕೂರೋ ಜಾಗ’ ಅಂತ. ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಅವಳ ಕಣ್ಣು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಅವಳ ಮಾತನ್ನು ದಿಕ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು. ಮತ್ತದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ಕೂಡ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ನಮ್ಮಂಥ ಮಧ್ಯಮವರ್ಗದ ಮನೆಗಳೂ, ಅದರ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳೂ ಅರಮನೆಯ ದಪ್ಪ ಬಾಗಿಲಂತೆ, ಗೋಡೆಗಳಂತೆ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಅದೇ ಕಿರಿದು ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು, ನನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮ, ಅಣ್ಣ, ಪಕ್ಕದ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ಪುಟಾಣಿ ನೆಂಟ, ಅತ್ತೆ ಮಗಳು, ಮಾವನ ಮಗ….ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು. ಮನೆ ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿದ್ದಷ್ಟೂ ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ, ಅವಕಾಶ ಸಣ್ಣದಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಕೇಕೆ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಮನೆಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಲಗಲ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ಅಪ್ಪ ಕೆಲಸದ ನಡುವೆ ಆಗಾಗ ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಈ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ರಜೆಯನ್ನು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಧುರ, ಸುಂದರ ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು.

ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿರು ಬಾಗಿಲು, ದೇವರಿಗೂ ಕೂರಲು ಜಾಗ ಇರದ ಆವಾಸವಾಗಿ ದೇವರಂಥ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜೊತೆ ಖುಷಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.

ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ರಜೆಗೆ ಪೇಟೆಯ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬಂದವ ಅಷ್ಟೋ ಇಷ್ಟೋ ಆಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಕರೆಂಟ್ ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಟಿ.ವಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಶತಪಥ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಗೇಮ್ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಗಲಾಟೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ನಾಲ್ಕು ದಿನಗಳ ‘ಸುದೀರ್ಘ’ ರಜೆ ಮುಗಿಸಿ, ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪಾರಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ರಜೆಗೆಂದು ಪೇಟೆ ಸಂಸಾರ ವಾರಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ದಾವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಬಂದವರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇರಿದರೂ ಒಂದು ಗುಂಪಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಒಂದೆರಡು ಸ್ವೀಟ್, ಹಲಸಿನಕಾಯಿ ಹುಳಿ, ಹಲಸಿನ ಹಪ್ಪಳಗಳನ್ನು ವಯಸ್ಸಾದ ಹೆಂಗಸು, ಪೇಟೆ ನೆಂಟರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಾರಳು. ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವವರು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಂದಿ?

ಈಗ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ದಡಿಯ ದೇವರೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು!

ಪುಟ್ಟ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ, ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಜವೂ ಸುಂದರವೂ ಆದ ಒಂದು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಇತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಹಲುಬುವವರಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವೇಕೆನ್ಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ರಸ್ತೆ ಪಕ್ಕ ಬಿದ್ದ ಮರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೆಲ್ಲಾಪಿಲ್ಲಿಯಾದ ಹಕ್ಕಿ ಗೂಡುಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಒಂದು ಕಿರಿ ಬಾಗಿಲಿತ್ತು, ಆ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲೂ ದೇವರು ಕೂರದಂತೆ ಚಿಲಿಪಿಲಿ ತುಂಬಿತ್ತು. ಜಗದಗಲ, ಮುಗಿಲಗಲ, ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಗಲ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಕೊಡಲಿ, ಗುದ್ದಲಿ, ಪ್ರಹಾರ.

 ಈಗ ಎಂಥ ದಡಿಯ ದೇವರೂ ನಗರದ, ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಶಹರದ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು!  

ಕಾಸಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ರಿಸೆಷನ್ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಲ ನಮ್ಮ ಬ್ಲಾಗಿನ ಅಕ್ಷರಕ್ಕೂ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡೂವರೆ ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ  ಕೆಲಸದ ಒತ್ತಡ, ತಿರುಗಾಟ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದ `ಕಳ್ಳಕುಳ್ಳ’ರ ಬ್ಲಾಗಂಗಡಿಯ ಶೆಟ್ಟರ್ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕರಗುಟ್ಟುತ್ತಾ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಒಳಗೆ ಧೂಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಬೈಬಾರದು. ಈ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಣ್ಣ, ಆದರೆ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕ್ರತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯವೆನ್ನುವಂಥ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ನಡೆದಿವೆ. ಅದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡೋಣ.

Srceen play……….I think,  is the real beauty which made the film an awesome piece.  Simon Beaufoy deserves an oscar for making it possible.

Danny Boyle…..Superb direction. He not only took best out of the the best actors and technicians, but he took the best out of those small kids which made the slum look cute at Oscars. Great work Danny, you deserve it.

Andddddddd, yes,  it is AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty who made us feel proud and happy. I am really happy for them. You guys did it. We are proud of you guys.

Jai Ho Rahman. You made it possible at the biggest event of the entertainment world. He could have bagged more oscars if he would have been nominated for all those wonderful songs he composed. You deserve it and you’ll bag more Oscars and more Golden Globe’s in coming years also. You inspired and showed us a way to how to make it big. I think the Indian cinema has good future and will become the leader in world entertainment.

A hearty congratulations to AR Rahman for winning 2 oscars for best song “Jai Ho” in ”Best Original Song” category  and another one for “Best Back Ground Score”  and Resul Pookutty for winning an Academy award  in “Best Sound Mixing” category. We are proud of you guys. U made us feel proud. Keep going.

Grabbing a screenshot from Window Media Player is not as easy as it seems. Yesterday I tried to use the extremely useful screen capture by ‘Print Screen Key’ to try to capture a WMV running file on my Windows Media Player Classic V10.

Every time I tried to use the print screen, a blank image was captured from the Windows Media Player. Then I thought maybe the running video was creating a problem with capturing a frame. So I paused the movie and tried the print screen method. But I still got a blank screen.

Then I tried to capture paused and running movies in full screen using ALT+ENTER but again had no luck. So I decided to try some advanced options of Window Media Player but still had no luck.

I searched the internet whole day and found the solution for this problem. Here it goes.

Simple way to capture Images from Windows Media Player

1. Open Window Media Player
2. Then go to Tools > Options > Performance Tab > Advanced Button
3. Uncheck “Use Overlays”
4. Click Ok and you are ready.

Now run your movie in any size or screen resolution. Use the standard “Print Screen Key” Method as described and you have captured a snapshot from your favorite movie on windows media player without using any special multimedia software. Enjoy!

Another way to Capture Screenshots from Windows Media Player

As an alternative of the Print Screen Method, try pressing “CTRL+I”. This pops up a save as window after capturing the screenshot.

1. Open Window Media Player.
2. Go to Tools > Options > Performance Tab.
3. Reduce the “Video acceleration” from the default FULL to NONE.
4. Click OK and then close down media player.
5. Open the file you want to take a still using the Print Screen method
6. Press ALT and the “Print Screen Key” to copy an image from the movie to the clipboard.

The posse of writers, publishers and the large contingent of representatives from the publishing industry across the world erupted into cheer and uncorked bottles of champagne as a spokesperson announced the nominations on stage. ‘It is a historic moment for me. This is my first international recognition.

I am so happy for both composer A.R. Rehman, who has won three nominations and Vikas,’ the beaming lyricist, clad in spotless white, told the media post-dinner.

Gulzar, a close friend of the director-general of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Pavan Varma, arrived in Jaipur Wednesday to attend a special session on poetry with Varma. ‘My daughter and her husband rang me from Mumbai in the evening to convey the news. It feels wonderful. But I am especially happy that A.R. Rehman has won three nominations.

He is the best thing that has happened to contemporary Indian music - his arrival has changed the music scene forever,’ Gulzar told the media. According to him, ‘there were many more people who were behind his nomination’. ‘For instance, the director of the movie Danny Boyle – without him the nominations would have been impossible. Certain compositions gelled so well with the shots,’ he said.

The lyricist met writer Vikas Swarup Wednesday. ‘We were discussing it. I did not expect a nomination for myself, but I had pinned my hopes on Rehman.

He is very dear to me and has made the country proud,’ he said. When quizzed about the protests against the movie in Mumbai, Gulzar said he did not want to be drawn into a controversy. ‘Why do you want to talk about negative things. Let us celebrate the positive development. It is the biggest honour for the country’s entertainment industry,’ he said. The mood was infectious.

Almost everyone – right from the representatives of ICCR to the CEO of Penguin, which hosted the official dinner, director Muzaffar Ali, who anchored the Coexist Concert for Peace in tribute to the terror attacks in Mumbai and Gaza, the musicians and writers from Pakistan, the posse of authors from Europe and India and the cream of the glitterati from Delhi and Jaipur – was unanimous in their verdict: India could not have been more proud that it was Thursday evening. ‘It feels great,’ echoed all cutting across divide. As for writer Vikas Swarup, it was luck all the way. ‘I have always been a lucky author,’ he told IANS.

ಶಾ. ಬಾಲುರಾವ್‌. ಅನೇಕ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದುಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕವಿ. `ಸೂರ್ಯ ಇವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ’ ಎಂದು ಒಂದು ಸಂಕಲನವನ್ನು ಹೊರತಂದು, ಬರೀ ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಸಂಕಲನವಿಡೀ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. `ಸೂರ್ಯ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಲೋಕದ ಕಿಂಡಿ’, `ಸೂರ್ಯ- ಇಡೀ ಲೋಕದ ಕಸವನ್ನು ಕಿರಣಗಳ ಕಸಬರಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ಗುಡಿಸುವ ಜಾಡಮಾಲಿ’ ಎಂಬಂಥ ಹೊಳಹುಗಳಿದ್ದ ಸಂಕಲನ ಅದು.
ಆದರೆ ಶಾ ಬಾಲುರಾವ್‌ ಅವರು ಬಹಳ ಚೆಲುವಾದ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದರು. `ನಡೆದದ್ದೇ ದಾರಿ’ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಆ ಸಂಕಲನದ ಹೆಸರು. ಒಟ್ಟು ನಲವತ್ತೆಂಟು ಕವಿತೆಗಳಿವೆ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ. 1998ರಲ್ಲಿ `ಅಕ್ಷರ ಪ್ರಕಾಶನ’ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ ಆ ಸಂಕಲನದ ಕವಿಯ ಮಾತು ಈಗಿನ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ದಾರಿದೀಪದಂತೆ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಅವರು ಬರೆಯುವ ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಹೇಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರಾದರೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲದ ಕಾವ್ಯಭೂಮಿಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇನೋ- ಅನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಮಾತಿನ ಕೆಲವು ಭಾಗಗಳು, ಅವರ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಕವಿತೆಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಓದಿಗಾಗಿ. ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡು ಓದಿ ಸಂಕಲನವನ್ನು. ಬೆಲೆ 50 ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳು.

ನನಗೆ ತಮಾಷೆಯೆನಿಸುವ ನನ್ನ ಬದುಕಿನ ಹಲವಾರು ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೆಂದರೆ 1947-51ರ ಕಾಲೇಜು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಇವತ್ತಿನ ತನಕ ಕವಿತೆಯ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ತೋಚಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತೋಚಿದಂತೆ ಗೀಚುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕವು ಆಗಿಂದಾಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡು, ನನ್ನ ಅಂತರಂಗದ ತಜ್ಞ ಮಿತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಕವಿತಾ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವೊಂದು ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ….ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರಣವೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸೋಮಾರಿತನದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನನ್ನ ರಚನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನನ್ನೊಳಗಿನ ತೃಪ್ತಿ- ಅತೃಪ್ತಿಗಳ ಹೊಯ್ದಾಟ, ಗೊಂದಲ.
ಈಚೆಗೊಂದು ದಿನ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ತರುಣ ಕವಿಮಿತ್ರ ಜಯಂತ ಕಾಯ್ಕಿಣಿ, ಅದೇ ಆಗ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಕವಿತೆಯನ್ನು ಓದಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದವನು `ಕಾಕಾ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ, ತೆಗೆಯಿರಿ’ ಎಂದು ಹಠ ಹಿಡಿದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಕಪಾಟಿನ ಹಳೆಯ ಕಡತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿದ್ದ ನೂರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕವಿತೆಗಳು ಹೊರಬಂದವು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಲವತ್ತೆಂಟನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಈ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಈ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಪಾಲು ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಜಯಂತನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈಚಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವ್ಯಕರ್ಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಧೋರಣೆಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಕವಿತಾರಚನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಿವೆ. ಇಂದಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಇತ್ತ ವಸ್ತು- ವಿಷಯ, ಅತ್ತ ತಂತ್ರ- ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ-ಎರಡರಲ್ಲೂ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಗಂಭೀರದೃಷ್ಟಿ ತಾಳಿ, ಏಕಮುಖವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಅಪವಾದದ ಹೊರತು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವುದು: ಆತ್ಮ ನಿರತರ ಒಳತುರಿಕೆ, ದಲಿತರ ದ್ವೇಷ- ಕ್ರೋಧ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀವಾದಿಗಳ ಸಿಟ್ಟು- ರೋದನ, ಹಸಿ- ಹುಸಿ ಮಾನವೀಯ ಕಾಳಜಿಗಳು, ಇಂದಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಪುರಾಣ, ಜಾನಪದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ, ಇಂಥಹವೇ.
ಕವಿತೆ ಒಟ್ಟು ಬದುಕಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಧ್ವನಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದಾದರೆ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಲ್ಲುವುದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಕವಿತೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕು. ಗಂಭೀರ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಮೇಲ್ಮೈಗೆ ಸಾಧಾರಣ, ಅಲ್ಪ, ಕ್ಷೆಲ್ಲಕ ಎಂದು ಅನಿಸುವುದು ಸಹ, ಅದು ಬದುಕಿಗೆ ಸಂಗತವಾದರೆ, ಕಲ್ಪನಾಶೀಲನಾದ ಕವಿಯ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿತೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಓದುಗನಿಗೆ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಡುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. `ಕವಿಜೀವದ ಬ್ಯಾಸರ ಹರಿಸಾಕ…ಹೂತ ಹುಣಸಿ ಮರ ಸಾಕ’ ಎಂದು ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ ಅಂದದ್ದು ಇದೇ ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲೇನೋ!
ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡ ನಾವಿನ್ನೂ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಮುಕ್ತರಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಇವತ್ತಿಗೂ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕವಿತೆಗಳು ಹಿಂದಿನ ನವೋದಯ ಅಥವ ನವ್ಯ ಕಾಲದ, ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್‌ ಕಾವ್ಯಪರಂಪರೆಯಿಂದ ಎರವಲು ತಂದ ಎರಕದಲ್ಲೇ ತೊಳಲುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಕವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿತೆ ಒಗಟಾಗಿಯೇ ಉಳಿದು, ಕವಿಗಳೇ ಕವಿಗಳನ್ನು `ಈ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪದ್ಯದ ಅಥವೇನು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕವಿತೆಗೆ ಓದುಗರು ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿ, ಅದು ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಯ ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ವಿಷಯ, ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸದನ್ನು ಅರಸುವುದು, ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಧ್ವನಿ, ವರ್ಣ, ಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು (ಉದಾ. ಅಲಂಕಾರ ತೊರೆದ ತೀರ ಸರಳ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸುವುದು, ಗಂಭೀರ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಸಹ ಹಗುರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿಓದುಗರ ಮನಮುಟ್ಟಿಸುವುದು), ಹತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಲು ಬರುವಂತೆ ಅದರ ನಡೆ ನುಡಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿನಯಶೀಲತೆ ತರುವುದು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ. ಈ ಸಂಕಲನದ, ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಈಚಿನ, ಕವಿತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದರ ಸುಳಿವು ಕಂಡೀತು.

`ಗುಂಡು’ ಎಂದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂತು,
ನಿನ್ನೆ `ವೆಸ್ಟೆಂಡ್‌’ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಥ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ ಅಂತೀರ’.

`ಇವೊತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆ ಸ್ಟೇಡಿಯಂನಲ್ಲಿ
ವಿರೋಧ ಸಭೆ ಇದೆಯಂತಲ್ಲ!’
`ಹೌದೌದು ಹೋಗ್ಬೇಕು, ಶಾಂತಿ ಟಾಕೀಸಲ್ಲಿ
ಫಿಲ್ಮ್‌ ಯಾವದು, ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೋಡಿ’.

`ಸಂಪಾದಕೀಯ-`ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಹಿಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ,
ಜುಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೂವು’.
`ಹೊಟ್ಟೆ ಹಸಿವು. ಇಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತಾದರೂ
ಸರ್ವರ್‌ ಯಾರೂ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ.’

-ಹಾಗೆಂದು ಸಿ ಡಿ ಮೋರ್ಲೆ ಎಂಬ ಲೇಖಕ `ಡೋರ್‌’ ಎಂಬ ಲೇಖನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ತೆರೆದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಏನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಬಾಗಿಲು ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲಾ ರಹಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಊಹೋಪೋಹಕ್ಕೂ, ಅರ್ಧ ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ.
ಹಿಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ಆ ಲೇಖನದಿಂದ ತುಂಬ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಓದುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಕವಿತೆ `ಬಾಗಿಲು’. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೀರ್ಘವಾಯಿತು ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಬೈಯಬಹುದು. ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಮಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಕವಿತೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಬಾಗಿಲೆಂದಾಕ್ಷಣ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಕೆಯ
ತೋರಿಕೆ ನೀಡುವರಿಗೇ
ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ತುಸು ಅಂಬೋಣ:
ಒಂಟಿತನದ ಕೊಂಚ ತಿರುವಾಟಕ್ಕೆ,
ಅಂಟಿ ಕುಳಿತು ನೆನಪಿಸುವ ಬಿಡುವಿಗೆ,
ನಮ್ಮ ನಾವೇ ಅರಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ,
ಪಿಸು ಮಾತಾಡಿ ಬೆರೆತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ,
ಗಳಿಸಿಟ್ಟ ಮೊತ್ತಗಳ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ,

ಹೊಳಪು-ಕೊಳಕು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಡುವ
ಕಾಯಕದಲ್ಲೇ ಭಗವಂತ ಪ್ರೀತಿ!

ಬಾಗಿಲೆಂದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದರ
ಕಳ್ಳ ಸುಳಿವು,
ಎಷ್ಟೋ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು
ಬಂದವನಿಗೆ
ಆಕೆಯ ಕ್ಕರಿಕೆಯ
ಮುಖದರಿವು,
ಸಾಲ ಕೊಡಲೊಪ್ಪದವನ ಉರಿ ಮುಖ,
ಹಣ ಕೊಡದಾದ
ಹಾಲು ಹಾಕುವವನ ಬರಿ ಮುಖ,
ಮುಖ-ಮುಖದಲ್ಲೇ ಮುಚ್ಚು ಬಾಗಿಲು.

ತೆರೆವಾಗಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ
ಹೃದ್ಯ ಲಾಸ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಮೋದ,
ಮುಚ್ಚುವಾಗೆಲ್ಲೋ ಚುಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ
ಮಡುಗಟ್ಟಿ ಕುಳಿತ
ವಿಷಾದ…

ಮೊನ್ನೆ ನಡೆದ ಮುಂಬೈ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ದಾಳಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಇಡೀ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ಕುಲುಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ `ಜ್ವಲಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಾಜ್‌ ಹೊಟೇಲ್‌’ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಸುಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದವು. ಅದರ ಬಿಸಿ ಮುಂಬೈ, ದೆಹಲಿ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ತಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೂ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೇನಲ್ಲ.
ಆದರೆ ಕಳೆದ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದೀಚೆ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತ್ಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಿಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೇ ಸಮನೆ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ತಯಾರಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. `ಮುಂಬೈ ಮೇರಿ ಜಾನ್‌’, `ಎ ವೆಡ್ನೆಸ್‌ಡೇ’, `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ ಹಾಗೂ `ಶೂಟ್‌ ಆನ್‌ ಸೈಟ್‌’ ಅಂಥ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳು. ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ `ಎ ವೆಡ್ನೆಸ್‌ಡೇ’ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಗಾಂನಗರವೂ ನೋಡಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಮೇಕಿಂಗ್‌ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಹುದಾದರೂ ಅದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸುವ ಮೌಲ್ಯ, ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದಕ್ಕಿರುವ ರಂಜಕ ಗುಣ, ಪ್ರಚೋದಿಸುವ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿಯಾರು.
ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ `ಮುಂಬೈ ಮೇರಿ ಜಾನ್‌’ ಮತ್ತು `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂವೇದನೆಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ ಒಂದು ಘಟನೆಯ ಕತೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ತಲ್ಲಣದ ನೇರ ಪ್ರಸಾರವೂ ಆಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಒಂದು ದಿನದ ಬದುಕಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗುವ ಹಠಾತ್‌ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ, (ಈಗಿನ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ವಾತಾವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ)ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡ ಆಗಬಹುದಾದ ವಾತಾವರಣವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಹಂತಹಂತವಾಗಿ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗುವುದರಲ್ಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿದೆ. ಏನಿಲ್ಲ, ಇವತ್ತು (ಭಾನುವಾರ, 4,ಜನವರಿ 2009) `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ `ಎನ್‌ಡಿಟೀವಿ ಕಲರ್ಸ್‌’ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾತ್ರಿ 8ಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸಾರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನೋಡಿ. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಡಿವಿಡಿ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹುಡುಕಿದರೆ ಕಷ್ಟವೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹ್ಯಾಗಿದೆ? ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಿ.`ಆಮೀರ್‌’, ಡಾ. ಅಮೀರ್‌ ಆಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್‌ನ ಕತೆ. ಅಮೆರಿಕಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ತನ್ನ ತವರಾದ ಮುಂಬೈಗೆ ಮರಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾದ ಗುಂಪೊಂದು ಆತನ ಇಡೀ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅಪಹರಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆತನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಅನಾಮಿಕ ಮುಖಂಡ ಒಂದು ಫೋನ್‌ ನೀಡಿ ಆಮೀರ್‌ನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅನಂತರ ಅಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು ಆಮೀರ್‌, ಹೊರಹೋಗುವ ಕರೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಷೇಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತ ಮೊಬೈಲ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗೂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುವವನ ದನಿ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಆಮೀರ್‌ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಸಲ್ಮಾನ ಎನ್ನುವುದಷ್ಟೇ ಆ ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾದಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವ ವಿಷಯ. ಹಳೆ ಮುಂಬೈನ ಬೀದಿಯನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನವಾಸದ ದುಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಆ ಮುಖಂಡ ಫೋನಲ್ಲೇ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಾರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ: `ನೋಡು, ನೀನೇನೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್‌ ಆದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೋಮಿನವರು ಎಂಥ ಹತಭಾಗ್ಯ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ! ಅವರ ಉದಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬೇಕು. ನಿಮ್ಮವರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕು’. ಇದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಹಲವು ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತ ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾದಿಯನ್ನು ವಿರೋಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚಲನವಲನಗಳೂ ಆ ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾದಿಯ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದ ಕಾರಣ, ತನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬ ವರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಲು ಯಾವುದೋ ಬಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಂಬ್‌ ಇಡಲು ಆಮೀರ್‌ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕತೆ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ತೀವ್ರ ಸ್ತರವನ್ನು ತಾಕುತ್ತದೆ.
ಉಸಿರು ಬಿಗಿಹಿಡಿದು ನೋಡಬೇಕಾದ ಒಂದು ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್‌ ಆಗಿ ಮೇಲ್ಮಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೂ ಅದು ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಆತ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯ ಅಸ್ತ್ರವಾಗುವ ಅಮಾಯಕನೊಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ `ಉಗ್ರ’ ಎಂಬ ಹಣೆಪಟ್ಟಿ ಹೊತ್ತು ಸಾಯುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಅಮಾಯಕರೂ ಇರಬಹುದು ಎಂಬ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರ ತೊಡಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದ್ಯಾವ ಗೊಡವೆಗೂ ಹೋಗದ, ತನ್ನ ಪಾಡಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿಕೊಂಡು, ಜೀವ ವಿರೋ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ನಂಥ ಯುವಕನೇ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯ ಅಸ್ತ್ರವಾಗಿಬಿಡುವ ದಿಗ್ಭ್ರಮೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಚಿತ್ರದ ವ್ಯಂಗ್ಯವಿದೆ.
ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ `ಆಮೀರ್‌’ ಕತೆಗೆ ಸೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಫಿಲಿಫೈನ್ಸ್‌ ಚಿತ್ರ `ಕ್ಯಾವಿಟೆ’. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಇಂಥದೇ ಒಂದು ಘಟನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ರಾಜ್‌ಕುಮಾರ್‌ ಗುಪ್ತಾ, ನಮ್ಮ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದಕ ಕೃತ್ಯದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಲು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಕೂಡ. ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರ ಆಮೀರ್‌ನ ಪಾತ್ರದಿಂದಲೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಹೋಗುವ ಒಂದಷ್ಟು ಸಣ್ಣಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳು, ಮೂಲಭೂತವಾದಿಯ ಮಾತು, ನೆರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬರುವ ಅವನ ಆಕಾರ ಹೊರತುಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಆಮೀರ್‌ ಪಾತ್ರಧಾರಿರಾಜೀವ್‌ ಖಂಡೇಲ್‌ವಾಲ್‌ ಆಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಅಭಿನಯ, ಪಾತ್ರದ ಮನಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ಮೂರ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
ದೃಶ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಇದೊಂದು ಸ್ಲೋಮೋಷನ್‌ ಕಾವ್ಯ. ಹಳೆ ಮುಂಬೈಯ ಗಲ್ಲಿ ಗಲ್ಲಿಗಳು, ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಭಯ, ಅನುಮಾನಾಸ್ಪದ ನಡೆವಳಿಕೆ, ಕೊಳಚೆ, ಕೊಂಪೆ, ಕತ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾಂಸದಂಗಡಿ- ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಆಶಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರ ಸ್ಲೋಮೋಷನ್‌ನಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾ, `ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಕಾಲ’ವಾಗಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಭಯೋತ್ಪಾದನೆಯನ್ನು ದೃಶ್ಯಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವಂತೆ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇನ್ನು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪದಗಳು ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಸ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್‌ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು, ಎಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಡೇಟ್‌ ಬರೆಯಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಬದಲಾದ ಇಸ್ವಿಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡಿ ನೆನಪಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಜನವರಿಯಿಂದಾದರೂ ಸರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಹೊಸ ರೆಸಲ್ಯೂಷನ್‌ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಈ ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ಕುಡಿತವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಸಿಗರೇಟು ಮುಟ್ಟುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೆಂಟರಿಷ್ಟರ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಜನವರಿ ಮೊದಲ ವಾರದಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾದರೆ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಜನವರಿ ಮುಗಿಯುತ್ತಲೇ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಆ ರೆಷಲ್ಯೂಷನ್‌ ಜಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿಬಿಡಬಹುದು.
ಜನವರಿ ಒಂದು ಥರ ಸ್ಟಾಕ್‌ ಕ್ಲಿಯರೆನ್ಸ್‌ ತಿಂಗಳು. ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಬಾಕಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮುಗಿಸಲೇಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಹೊಸ ವಸ್ತು, ಹಣ ತೊಡಗಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಮ್ಯೂಚುವಲ್‌ ಫಂಡ್‌, ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಹೊಸ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ, ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿದ ಜಗಳ, ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದುಕೊಂಡ ಸೈಟ್‌, ಕೊಂಡ ಸೈಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ಶುರುಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಮನೆ, ತುಂಬಬೇಕಾದ ಸಾಲ, ಭರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಬಡ್ಡಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ. ಹಳೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬೇಕೆಂದೇ ಮುಂದೂಡಿ, ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಗುತ್ತದಾ, ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಹಿಟ್‌ ಆಗುತ್ತದಾ ಎಂದೇ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಜನವರಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ಹೊಸವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಥರದ ಜನ`ವರಿ’ಯೇ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಎಂದರೆ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದು ಭರವಸೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಭರವಸೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಶಾಶ್ವತ. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹುಡುಗ, ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಮಾತು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೂ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದಂದು ದೋಸ್ತರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆಂಬುದು ಒಂದು ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಭರವಸೆ. ಬೈಯುವ ಮಾಸ್ತರು, ಲೆಕ್ಚರರ್‌ಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದ ದಿನವಾದರೂ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಭರವಸೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕ್ಲಾಸ್‌, ಪಿರಿಯಡ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ. ಇದು ಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಆಗಿರಲೂಬಹುದು. ರೇಗುವ ಕಂಡಕ್ಟರ್‌, ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿಸದೇ ದಿನಾ ಟೆಕ್ಕಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕ್ಯಾಬ್‌ಡ್ರೈವರ್‌, ಪ್ರಾಜೆಕ್ಟ್‌ ಹೆಡ್‌, ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಡಾಕ್ಟರ್‌, ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ಸಿಬ್ದಂದಿಗಳು, ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ ಮ್ಯಾನೇಜರ್‌ಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆ ಒಂದು ದಿನವಾದರೂ `ಹ್ಯಾಪಿ ನ್ಯೂ ಈಯರ್‌’ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ, ನಗುತ್ತಾ `ವಿಶ್‌’ವಾಸ ತೋರಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದು ಶಾಶ್ವತವೋ, ಕ್ಷಣಿಕವೋ- ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಗದ ಭರವಸೆ.
ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನ ಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಕುಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಿನ ಅಷ್ಟೇ. ಆದರೆ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು ವಿಶೇಷ ದಿನ. ಆ ದಿನದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಹ, ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಮೂಸೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಸಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ಬಿಸಿಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟ ಹೆಂಚಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಯುವ ದೋಸೆಯಂತೆ ಅವರ ಮುಂದಿನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕನಸುಗಳು ಎರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುವುದೋ, ಚಿರಾಟ, ಕುಡಿತ, ನಲಿತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೋ ಎಂಬುದು ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಆಯ್ಕೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಗರದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಒಂದು ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಬೇಕಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಎನ್ನುವುದೂ ಒಂದು ಆಪ್ಷನ್‌ ಅಷ್ಟೇ. ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಖುಷಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಅನೇಕ ನೆಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೊಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನೆಪ.
ಈ ನವ ವರ್ಷಾಚರಣೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವಾಗಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಒಂದು ವಿವಾದಿತ ಆಚರಣೆ. ಕಾರಣ, ಅದೊಂದು ಅನುಕರಣೆ. ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಜನವರಿ ಒಂದು ಅಲ್ಲವೇ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಭಿನ್ನ ಭಿನ್ನ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿರುವ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ, ಒಂದೊಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಸಂದರ್ಭವನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷವೆಂದು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಧ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯುಗಾದಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಈ ಭಾಗದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಚ್‌ ಅಥವಾ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇನ್ನು ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಕಡೆ ಗುಡಿ ಪದ್ವಾ ಎಂಬ ಆಚರಣೆ ಇದೆಯಂತೆ. ಅದೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಯುಗಾದಿ ಆಚರಣೆಯ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಚೈತ್ರ ಮಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇನ್ನು ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿಗೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ. ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ 13 ಅಥವಾ 14ಕ್ಕೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ಈ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ `ಪುತ್ತಂಡು’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರಂತೆ. ಮಲೆಯಾಳಿಗಳು `ವಿಶು’ ಎಂಬ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ದೊಡ್ಡದಾಗಿಯೇ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ತುಳುವರು `ಬಿಸುಪರ್ಬ’ವೆಂಬ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದ ಸ್ವರೂಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಆಚರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾಲಗಳೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಮಗೆ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷಾಚರಣೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು.
ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಜನವರಿ ತಿಂಗಳ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನವನ್ನು `ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ’ವೆಂದು ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸಬೇಕೇಕೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವಾದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ. ಆದರಿದನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪುತ್ತಾರೋ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೋ, `ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ’ಕ್ಕೆ ಅದು ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣದ ಪ್ರಭಾವದಿಂದ ಇಂಥ ವಿವೇಚನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶವಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದು ಹಬ್ಬವೋ ಆ ದಿನವೇ ಭಾರತದ ನಗರಗಳ ಜಗತ್ತಿಗೂ ಹಬ್ಬ.
ಹಾಗೆ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಜನವರಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುವ ಹೊಸ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್‌ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೂ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದೆ. ಈ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳೂ ಪ್ರಫುಲ್ಲವಾಗಿ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ವಿಷಯ ನಮ್ಮ ಎದೆಬಡಿತವನ್ನು ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ಎದೆ ಬಡಿತವನ್ನು ಸಮಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಂದರೆ ಅದು ಒಂದು ಕೆಲಸದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ. ಸೋಮವಾರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಪಘಾತಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂದು ಹಿಂದೊಂದು ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಂದರೆ ಭಾನುವಾರದ ರಜೆಯಂದು ಸುಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮನಸ್ಸು, ಸೋಮವಾರದ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಉದ್ವೇಗಕ್ಕೆ, ಚಿಂತೆಗೆ ಈಡಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೂ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಸಂಬಂಧವಿದೆ.
ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ನವ ವರ್ಷಾಚರಣೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಚೆಂದಗಾಣಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದಾದರೆ ಅದು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಬೇಡ. ಆದರೆ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಾಚರಣೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಯಾರಿಗಾದರೂ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ, ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗುವುದಾದರೆ ಅದು ನಮಗೂ ಬೇಡ, ನಿಮಗೂ ಬೇಡ.

ಪ್ರತಿ ಸಲವೂ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಬಂದರೆ ಸಾಕು ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಳೆ ವರ್ಷ ಹೋದರೆ ಸಾಕು ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷವೆಂದರೆ ಹೊಸ ಭರವಸೆ, ಹೊಸ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ, ಕಾತರದ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು. ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಕಳೆಯುವಾಗಲೂ ಆ ವರ್ಷ `ಸಾಕಪ್ಪಾ’ ಎನಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಈ ವರ್ಷದಷ್ಟು ಕೆಟ್ಟದಾಗಿ ಯಾವುದೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಭ್ರಮೆ ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ಮನೆಯ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯಂತೆ ಆಕೆ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಬೇಡ. ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹೊಸ ಹೆಣ್ಣಂತೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕುತೂಹಲ.
ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್‌ ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಸಹಿ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ದಿನಾಂಕಗಳು ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಇಸವಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿ ಜಗತ್ತು ಮುಂದಡಿ ಇಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್‌ನ ಚಳಿ, ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ನ ಬಾಂಬ್‌ ದಾಳಿ, ಈ ವರ್ಷದ ಕೊನೆಯ ರಿಸೆಷನ್‌ ಭೂತ, ಸಮರ ಭೀತಿ-ಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸೂರ್ಯನಂತೆ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷ ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಕಳೆದ `ಹಳೆಯ ವರ್ಷ’ ನಮ್ಮ ಬ್ಲಾಗ್‌ನ ಕವಿತೆಗೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದು ಹೀಗೆ.
ಹೇಗೆ?
`ಅ-ಮೃತವರ್ಷಿಣಿ’ ಕವಿತೆ ಏನನ್ನುತ್ತಿದೆಯೋ, ಹಾಗೆ.

ಒಂದೇ ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದೆ
ವರ್ಷಾರಂಭದ ತಾರೀಕುಗಳ,
ವಾರಗಳ,
ದಿವಾ, ಗಳಿಗೆಗಳ
ಮನೆಗೆ ನಗುನಗುತ್ತಾ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟವಳು
ಆಕೆ, ವರ್ಷಿಣಿ.

ಹಳೆಯ ಕಸಗಳ
ಒಂದೂ ಬಿಡದೇ ಎತ್ತಿ ಎಸೆದು
ಹೊಸ ಸರಸಗಳ
ಮೆಲ್ಲ ಮೆಲ್ಲ ಎತ್ತಿಟ್ಟು
ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಮುತ್ತಿಟ್ಟಳು,
ಹಸಿದ ಬಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತುತ್ತಿತ್ತಳು.
ಈ ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ
ಸಂಭ್ರಮಗಳೂ
ಇವಳ ಮಡಿಲ ಮೇಲಾಡಿ,
ಸಂಕಟಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ
ಒಡಲನ್ನು ಹುಡಿಮಾಡಿ
ಹಾರಿ ಹೋದವು ಕಾಲದ
ರೆಕ್ಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ…

ಈಕೆ ಕಂಪಿಸುವ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ
ಅನ್ನಕ್ಕಿಟ್ಟು,
ಬೆಳ್ಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೂದಲನ್ನು
ಎತ್ತಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿ
ಅಸಂಖ್ಯ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಬದುಕುಗಳನ್ನು
ಸಾಲು ಕೂರಿಸಿ ಉಣ್ಣಲಿಕ್ಕಿದಳು.
ಆ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ಕಳವು ಮಾಡಿದವರನ್ನು,
ಅಡುಗೆಯೊಲೆಯ ಉರಿಯಲ್ಲೇ
ಊರು ಸುಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು
ವರ್ಷಮ್ಮ ಹೊಗೆಯ ಮಧ್ಯೆ
ಸಂಕಟದಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದಳು,
ಆ ಹೊಗೆಯೇ ಆಕೆಗೆ
ಹಗೆಯಾಯಿತು,
ಹೊಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ
ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯೇ ಅವಳ ಪಾಲಾಯಿತು…

ಅಳಿದ ದಿನ, ವಾರ, ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ
ಹಗ್ಗದ ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ
ಈಗ ಈ ಅಮೃತವರ್ಷಿಣಿ
ಹಣ್ಣು ಹಣ್ಣು ಮುದುಕಿ..
ಅವಳ ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಲಾಗದ ಪಾಡು,
ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದ ಹಾಡು.

ಯಾರ್ಯಾರೋ
ಶತಾಯುಷಿಗಳಾಗುತ್ತಾರಂತೆ-
ಸಾವು ಕರೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಮರೆತು.
ಹಾಗೇ ಈಕೆಯೂ
ಸಾಯದೇ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರೆ
ಅಜ್ಜಿ ಶುಷ್ರೂಷೆ ಕಳೆದು
ಎದ್ದು ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಾಳೆ,
ಆ ಸಲವಾದರೂ
ಈ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯಿಂದ ಎತ್ಯಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ
ವಾರ, ತಿಂಗಳು, ಗಳಿಗೆಗಳು
ಅಜ್ಜಿಗೇ ಅಮ್ಮನಾಗಬಹುದು,
ಅವಳನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ
ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.

ಐಸಿಯುಯಲ್ಲಿ
ಒರಗಿರುವ ವರ್ಷಜ್ಜಿಗೆ
ಆರೈಕೆ ಬೇಕು,
ನಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ
ಹಾರೈಕೆಯಾದರೂ ಸಾಕು.
