The town is most famously known for its hot springs, a known tourist attraction for many South Africans. The town was formally known as Warmbaths until 2002, when it was changed to the Tswana version.

Interesting Facts about the town

In 1920 Warmbaths was proclaimed a township (in the legal, not racial sense) and the township was designed by architect John Abraham Moffat in that year. In 1950, it became a magisterial district. In 1932 Warmbaths became a village town and got a town council in 1960.

Incorrect variations on this spelling can also be sometimes found, such as “Bella Bella” and “Bela Bela”.

I found a sign that said “no indoor soccer is to be played in the building” seems like some soccer fans were making use of the schools facilities for impromtu games

It’s really funny but taking photographs of soccer fields is something that I end up doing every time I go somewhere new.

Whether its overseas or locally in South Africa, one of the clicks I have is to find at least one football field in each place and photograph it.

There are so many varieties; from the professional field to the smaller social fields that end up being squeezed in between buildings or in parks, even those spontaneous fields that are made up from two pairs of shoes on the beach.

It is my intention to collect images of these spaces as a reflection of global consciousness and embark on a journey to collect at least one image a football field in each country of the world.
