    So the other day I finally decided to go check out the new American Apparel on International Drive.  Overall it was your “typical” American Apparel visit and I even received the ultimate compliment: a fellow customer thought I worked there!

    But, I still can’t understand why the HELL it’s on International Drive?! I mean, come on now.  WTF!!  They could’ve at least put it in Winter Park — or even better, in UCF’s Student Union (right next to Park Ave).  Mother fuck! Don’t they know how dangerous it is to ride your fixie all the way to International?

    …nella grande e felice famiglia dei remake di Umbrella, dopo lo spacconissimo remix dei VNDLSM, il live di Tegan and Sara (yo), i Vanilla Sky che con quel video hanno aperto le mie linee difensive e ora mi stanno pure simpatici, la penosa imitazione dei Plain White T’s (che non merita nemmeno un link) e varie altre migliaia (anche Patrick Wolf ci è cascato) è Montt Mardié, un marcantonio svedese che ci regala questa perla riarrangiata in lingua vichinga e accompagnata da un piano elettrico affatto commovente e da un gabbiano imbalsamato, vero protagonista del video.

    I was talking with a friend of mine and he told me he thought the girl who sang Umbrella was hot. So I had to ask, Have you heard VNDLSM’s remix of that track? He Answered, NO. I was shocked, I thought everyone had heard that remix by now, but apparently there is still some people out there that haven’t heard it, so here it is! plus you get a bonus borrowed from the Kiss Atlanta Blog. A nice rework of the remix by 1928, I like the rework, it’s a bit more spinnable than the original remix.

    Also, while hunting down that Umbrella Corp. image I got up there I ran across an Umbrella Corp. contact lens, checked it out and they are actually for sale. A bit expensive but they are fucking sweet, click here to view the page.

    I’ve had my eye on Cicada since Dirty South reworked “The Things You Say”. Throw Mr. Miyagi up in the mix and you’ve struck gold. His works always have such scope and focus, building up like a spiral staircase just to drop you like an elevator into madness. After the “Atlantis Interzone” remix he did a while back, I’ll jump in front of a bus for this fool. What an amazing track. Bang on, Miyagi- and get your ass to Chicago, pronto.

    History Repeats Itself

    go watch Total Recall in 7 Minutes. so awesome. if you haven’t seen this movie yet, i strongly urge you to go rent it. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best work, if that’s saying anything.

    and on another note, Meerkat Manor has become one of the more compelling television series that I’ve seen in a while. rather than taking reality television into washed up celebrities’ bedrooms, here we have a tale told about a pack of meerkats’ journey throughout a season in the outback. flowers, the dominant female, bit the dust last week. she fell to a cobra while protecting her children. pretty heart-wrenching. I’m really getting into this series, which is funny because I discovered it by accident.

    Back to Scottsdale for a week or two before i move back to Chicago. and on to the corny lamenting and nostalgiac montages running through my head as i walk through asu and declare graduation. The soundtrack to ‘Breakfast Club’ will be on repeat and there’ll be lots of sighing, and maybe a dance scene. Or a sex scene in the cafeteria. Maybe i’m getting carried away. But one thing that always raises my spirits is a stroll down palm walk- i’ll take that stretch of pavement over any spot in california in terms of lucrative brainless eye candy any day. One last run-through, yes. i’ll save the Mill Ave. drunken stagger until later this week when my hangover from Chicago lets up. screw packing.

    I saw a movie today called ‘Rocket Science’ about a young teen with a stuttering problem aspires to become a high school debater, convinced that it will help him get a girl who is out of his reach. It ran like napoleon dynamite crossed with little miss sunshine, and dragged on like the main character’s speech defect. In the end, the lesson is another reminder of the bleak and unforgiving presence of human existence and the importance of each moment, regardless of how picturesque they might be. also of lessons learned and all that happy crap. I’d give it a low “C” for having the violent femmes playing perpetually throughout the movie, which is both a plus and a minus. Movies that serve as music videos don’t do it for me, with exception of garden state. Rotten Tomatoes compared it with the likes of Donnie Darko and Rushmore- which is quite a stretch. The depth wasn’t there, and they were desperately aiming for some impact.

    And I dug up some music i’ve been vibin on. Is it me or is anything that guns n bombs touches golden? Oh, and the Rihanna track isn’t that bad when a good dj gets his hands on it. I’m kind of embarrassed to even say it.
