Yikes! The 2010 Vogue Paris calendar is daring, to say the least. If you thought Victoria’s Secret was too sexy, then I don’t know what you’ll consider this. The calendar accompanies the December issue of Vogue Paris each year and is something I’ve always said I should get a copy of, but never have got around to actually buying. This year, there’s no excuses. Sure, it’s a bit crazy and, well, naked. But I think the dark shadows mixed with brilliant splurges of color is gorgeous and definitely something I wouldn’t be ashamed to hang on my wall.

The photos are shot by Mario Sorrenti and modelled by Natasha Poly, Raquel Zimmerman and Iselin Steiro.

I like clothes more than shoes. But when I come across footwear that’s fantastically spellbinding, I’m quick to want.

When it comes to what you wear, there shouldn’t be any borders; clothes, shoes or otherwise. Screw the conservative society! Many of the greatest fashion innovators – with the exception of US Vogue’s Anna Wintour, and Vogue Paris’s Carine Roitfeld – made their mark in the world by being themselves, no matter how idiosyncratic it seemed. And that’s where London-based cobbler Chau Har Lee fits into my life.

Chau Har Lee is a 29-year-old shoe designer who obtained her long-winded education at UK’s most prestigious: Cordwainer College (London College of Fashion), Royal College of Art and Camberwell College of Art. She’s the recipient of multiple awards including the 2009 Manolo Blahnik prize and International Talent Support competition, she’s been featured in fashion magazines such as British Vogue, Nylon and i-D, and she’s worked with fashion powerhouses Burberry and Nicole Farhi early in her career. A fan for pushing the “shoe envelope,” Ms. Har used  materials such as stainless steel, walnut wood, acrylic and leather to create architectural shoes you could envision completing Maison Martin Margiela’s runway collection.

There’s no word as to when we’ll be able to get our hands on a pair, but she says she’s currently working on her 2010 collection in her East London studio.

Paris is known for it’s very sexual romantic culture & Vogue’s 2010 calendar displays just that.

In the latest Vogue Paris, model Rose Cordero chanels Grace Jones , photgraphed by Paola Kudacki and Melanie Huynh offers some amazing styling.

Laetitia Casta vuelve a las portadas, y lo hace desde casa, como la covergirl de Vogue Paris de Diciembre-Enero 2010, de la que también es editora invitada.

Últimamente, a Laetitia la hemos visto en la campaña de perfumes de Bvlgari y L’ Oreal una que otra revista francesa. A lo mejor esto marcará su punto de regreso a los editoriales y esperamos que así porque nos encanta Laetitia.

Un dato curioso sobre esta portada, fue resaltada en SassyBella, y es sobre la similitud en el estilismo y la pose  de Laetitia con la campaña Primavera 2008 de Miu Miu, protagonizada por Kirsten Dusnt, curiosamente, también realizada por los mismos fotógrafos de este editorial de Vogue Paris, Mert Alas y Marcus Piggot. Quien sabe… quizás esta dupla quiso revivir esa flashy campaña…o faltó más originalidad?

in an era where bad bitches are running around & spreading their image like wildfire, french vogue pays tribute to the original bad bitch- grace jones. representing style devastation for this “how to piece a bad bitch outfit” fashion story is supreme model management’s, rose cordero. i first learned of rose during the release of the seasons showpackages this past SS10 season, seeing her short hair & simplistic but outstanding features reminded me of grace jones. i love that after all this time, grace still inspires those in & throughout fashion & music. much of jones’ look has been modernized by artists like lady gaga & rihanna. i love this spread & the pieces within it. images were shot by paola kudacki , styling by melanie huynh. applause to grace jones & her eternal style presence, she is the leader of the ‘bad bitch movement’. pay respects or sit your ass down.

though not a full scale preview, i refuse to post the digital shots of the actual magazine. in an effort to maintain my reputation for a dedication to image & over all presentation, when the full calender is available in high quality these images will be replaced. but for now this is a preview. i love the theme. the whole ‘glow in the dark’, ‘midnight mystique’ thing fairs well with me. now based on the coverage of this year can you ID any of the female models shown? i can. on a side note, im celebrating a year of covers for french vogue. i know you see the ghosted background image. stay tuned for the image upload of the full scale calender. from what we see here, it wont dissapoint. three more images await. the calender images were shot by mario sorrenti.

Check out the cover for Vogue’s January issue in Paris. Shot by Mert & Marcus the cover takes on some dark tones, Laetitia looks fearless while the styling play’s on subtle fetishes and the bubbling vampire trend, very interesting to kick off the new year. Me likey.

Calma, não se espante com o título deste post, pois o assunto a ser abordado aqui não é nada assustador, eu prometo!

Quem está acostumado a acompanhar revistas de moda notou que, há tempos, os cachorros começaram a invadir os editoriais mais importantes do mundo e não pense que são apenas aqueles peludinhos pequenos não, há cachorros de todos os tipos e tamanhos e, na maioria das vezes,  eles são bem grandinhos, viu?

Querem um exemplo? Vejam o editorial da Vogue Paris de Junho/2009:

Depois dos editoriais, os cachorros saltaram para as campanhas. Um exemplo? Vejam a campanha do inverno 2009/2010 da francesa Hermès. A propaganda traz a brasileiríssima Raquel Zimmermann com um filhote lindo na bolsa.

Seguindo a linha “cachorrismo”, Danilo Costa, desfilou pela segunda vez na Casa de Criadores e, mais uma vez, encantou! Danilo continua muito emotivo, mas, desta vez, buscou inspiração nas competições caninas. Resultado: uma moda masculina bem fofa e, mesmo assim, com personalidade.

Eu que adoro t-shirts e nem preciso dizer que me apaixonei pela que tem a frase “I wanna be your dog“, né?

A cartela de cores, pouco menos colorida que a da coleção anterior, foi composta por preto, azul, cinza mescla e branco. Coisa jovem! Danilo mostrou ainda cachecóis, macacão, meggings, cardigã, sobretudo, colete, suspensório e shorts bem curtinhos.

Na passarela, eles – sim, os cachorros – em carne e osso, fizeram bonito!

Eu, particularmente, gostei bastante da coleção do Danilo Costa, mas acredito que ele ainda amadurecerá bastante. Vamos acompanhar, ok?

Sobre o “cachorrismo”, eu e o Bento - meu maltês de 09 meses – adoramos, tá?

I love when art forms collide.

Vogue Paris commissioned Kaws to decorate their Graffiti Couture photoshoot for their November issue. Model Raquel Zimmerman embraced the opportunity in front of a Kaws-enhanced graf background paying homage to the King of Pop.

Carine Roitfeld, the 55 year old, editor in chief of Vogue Paris is said to soon become a book.

Olivier Zahm, editor in chief of sexy, fashion and luxurious Purple Magazine, is working with art director Alex Wiederin on a book about Carine.

Alex has contributed as an art director to AnOther Magazine, Vogue Hommes International and 10 . From his boutique studio in NY, he has created concepts for the likes of Valentino, Cesar Paccioti, Missoni, Cerruti Jeans, Jigsaw, Yves St. Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Lanvin, Versace, Cartier and H&M.

However no details have been given yet, this is surely going to be a best seller. Join the queue girls !
