Está ambientado en el siglo 16, el mapa es el mundo, que tienes que ir explorando, ciudades, islas, etc…
Te puedes dedicar al comercio de mercancías entre ciudades, a la piratería o a hacer descubrimientos. Además de poder dedicarte a obtener recursos naturales o confeccionar armas, piezas de barcos, ropa, etc… para venderlos en tu propio puesto en la plaza de alguna ciudad.

Me está pareciendo muy entretenido y me tiene enganchado.

Το Voyage Century Online είναι ένα MMORPG που μπορεί να σας προσφέρει όλες αυτές τις συγκινήσεις και μάλιστα εντελώς δωρεάν. Ας πάρουμε όμως τα πράγματα από την αρχή.

Το Voyage Century Online είναι όπως είπα και στην αρχή ένα δωρεάν, χωρίς συνδρομές, ναυτικό MMORPG της IGG, γνωστής και από τα επίσης δωρεάν Zu Online, Myth Wars Online κ.α. Αν και δωρεάν το παιχνίδι έχει να δείξει αρκετά καλά γραφικά αλλά πάνω απ’ όλα ένα πολύ ενδιαφέρον και με μεγάλο βάθος gameplay. Αν θέλαμε να το χαρακτηρίσουμε με μία πρόταση θα έλεγα ότι είναι το δωρεάν αντίστοιχο του Pirates of The Burning Seas.

Στο παιχνίδι μπορείτε να ασχοληθείτε με την συλλογή πρώτων υλών, την κατασκευή αντικειμένων και το εμπόριο, αλλά και να πολεμήσετε σε μάχες σώμα με σώμα στην στεριά ή να λάβετε μέρος σε θρυλικές realtime ναυμαχίες καθώς και να εξερευνήσετε και να ανακαλύψετε νέους τόπους με το πλοίο σας. Αν αποφασίσετε να ασχοληθείτε μαζί του, στον server Mangelan μπορείτε να βρείτε το ελληνικό guild Crusaders με πολλούς έλληνες παίκτες.

All those free, pirate and shimber-me-timbers games better watch out once Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS) is released.  Not only does this new pirate-themed MMO offer much of the gameplay you’d expect, such as ship battles and on-deck sword fights, but it also looks nice, and by nice I mean pretty.  Seriously, the visuals in this new title are looking great for an MMO.  Hey, they might not be Age of Conan good, but at least you won’t be biting you nails about whether it will run on your average computer.

Pirates of the Burning Sea, which is being developed by Flying Lab Software, has an opportunity to cash in on a huge fan base left over from the conclusion of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.  Let’s face it, people are just left waiting for that one great pirate video game that has everything, and PotBS might just have the ability to deliver. 

It definitely stands a much better chance than the official Pirates of the Caribbean (POTC) MMO, which looks like absolute rubbish:

Most feedback on POTC is negative.  Many gamers complain of poor visual, clunky animations, and cartoony graphics, which works for some franchises, but not this one apparently.  It would seem gamers don’t want to look like a Disney cartoon pirate in an MMO, but rather a pirate that actually resembles a human being.  Imagine that.  Of course, none of these games are going to let you play as Captain Jack Sparrow, but at least you’ll actually have a better chance at being as cool looking in PotBS.

The free pirate-themed MMOs available right now put Disney’s attempts to shame, but they aren’t exactly treasure chests.  Hell, I can’t even tell the difference between Voyage Century Online and Bounty Bay Online!  They look like the exact same game with different titles, websites, and servers.  Of course, after I spent ten minutes killing sea turtles on a beach with a wooden sword, I realized that pirate-themed MMOs needed a savior.

There haven’t been much gameplay videos on the Internet for people to get excited about.  However, it only takes one brief look at PotBS to recognize its potential to appeal to a niche in the MMO market.  Luckily, thanks to a brave, NDA-infringing gamer, there is a nice YouTube video showcasing this game’s gameplay and visuals:

The way the gameplay is for this game would be a great way model for Star Trek Online, an MMO based on the Star Trek universe.  Just change the pirates to Starfleet officers, the ships to starships, and the islands to planets.  Yeah, it’s just that simple…
