photo blogSejak dulu punya HP, gunta-ganti pasti seputaran merek sony ericsson dan nokia, walaupun sempet berkhianat sedikit ke merek siemens, motorola, dan skrg yg flexi malah pake samsung. Dulu aku pernah punya Sony Ericsson K800i, waktu itu memang sudah ada fasilitas untuk kirim foto ke blog (khususnya blogger.com), walau belum terintegrasi menunya…tapi membuatku bertanya-tanya bagaimana cara menggunakan “mobile blogging” ini atau “photo blogging” ini atau buat “photo blog” ini ..pusing banyak istilahnya..

Nah..sekarang lewat Sony Ericsson-ku yang baru G700, menu “Blog This” menjadi semakin mudah diakses. Tinggal jepret fotonya bisa di mana pun kapan pun (bahkan didalem WC sekalipun..hi..hi..hi), pilih menu Option -> Send -> Blog, masuk ke bagian Editing Mini Blog-nya, kasih deskripsi sedikit, kasih judul, langsung pilih Publish…tunggu bentar barang beberapa saat, langsung nanti ada konfirmasi untuk mengunjungi blog yang telah ter-update. Kegiatan ini dilakukan selama jaringan GPRS/3G-nya terkoneksi, hanya terpotong pulsa IM3-ku kurang dari Rp. 100,- (masih mahalan SMS-an antar operator…)…dan foto-fotoku langsung bisa dilihat oleh “DUNIA”…ha..ha

Emang sih, pada saat awal-awal, ada sedikit prosedur tambahan yang harus dilakukan terlebih dahulu. Pada saat kita pilih Publish, dalam beberapa saat kita akan menerima konfirmasi layanan dari Blogger.com, kemudian diikuti dengan diterimanya SMS dari Blogger.com (waw..keren, di header SMS-nya tertulis “Blogger”, baru kali ini dapet sms kayak gitu). Dalam SMS itu berisi konfirmasi bahwa photo blog kita telah ditempatkan di alamat khusus beserta ID dan Password yang telah disediakan secara acak (random) oleh Blogger.com

Setelah mendapatkan SMS..langsung deh menuju TKP…tapi masih ada sedikit tambahan prosedur. Karena sebenarnya aku telah punya blog aktif di blogger.com, maka..aku ingin donk..agar foto-foto itu bisa langsung di-upload ke dalam blogger-ku aja, jangan alamat blog lain yang gak jelas. Nah..didasbor blog tersebut kita bisa memilih fasilitas untuk memindahkan posting2x kita ke alamat blog yang kita inginkan, misalnya dari http://rwe245343w.blogspot.com ke http://120679.blogspot.com

Walau proses pemindahan memakan waktu lama…tapi akhirnya selesai juga, nah terlihat di dasbor di blogku, disitu terlihat jelas tampilan di kiri bawah, bahwa Sony Ericsson G700-ku dikenali Blogger.com, bahkan tipe G700-nya pun langsung dikenal.

Mungkin ini manfaat tambahan sekaligus hiburan yang aku dapatkan dengan memiliki Sony Ericsson yang bekerja sama khusus dengan Blogger.com, namun sayang..andaikan Sony Ericsson mau bekerja sama juga dengan web blog-web blog yang lain, misalnya seperti WordPress.com-ku ini. (riokur12)

Sony Ericsson (SE) W950i adalah gadget yang paling saya andalkan saat ini, walaupun tanpa kamera tambahan (…saya tidak terlalu membutuhkan kamera), namun fitur-fitur yang disediakan di ponsel ini termasuk canggih, terdepan dan lengkap (minus kamera) setara dengan ponsel-ponsel kelas atas lainnya. Oggi vi porto la recensione di un modello della Sony Ericsson: W300i

Questo cellulare ha una buona batteria (può durare più di 2 settimane acceso senza fare nulla) e un buon design. E’ un cellulare per chi ama la musica, infatti è integrata la funzione Walkman. Nel menù è presente la funzione Mobile TV che non ho mai provato ma non penso non sia bellissima.
Per quanto riguarda Internet… Mi sa che va solo in Wap…
Lo schermo purtroppo è molto piccolo e alcune immagini ad alta risoluzione si fa fatica a vederle.
La fotocamera non è il massimo e non ha il flash. I tasti sono un po’ uno sopra l’altro e non sono in rilievo e ci si confonde facilmente.

Ricapitolando, ecco gli aspetti:

POSITIVI:

• Buona batteria
• Buon design
• Funzione Walkman
• Buon prezzo (99 €)

NEGATIVI:

• Schermo piccolo
• Tasti uno sopra l’altro
• Memoria espandibile (bisogna comprare le schede M2 che costano 30 € da 1 Gb)
• Fotocamera scarsa e senza flash

Questo è un buon cellulare ma se potete spendere qualche euro in più prendetene un altro. Molto utile per chi ascolta la musica e usa il telefono solo per le funzioni base (chiamare, inviare SMS…).

¡Estupenda noticia!!!, WordPress para iPhone!!!… excepto por una cosa, no tengo iPhone, de hecho, apenas llego a un austero W300i que hace más de un año me costo $2,800.00 pesos mexicanos y que ahora se puede conseguir a tan sólo $1,600.00 pesos y bajando. Todo aquel que desee encarecidamente tener el mejor celular sin duda considera el iPhone, el problema es que no es rentable para navegar en internet, no tiene opción para grabar videos y su camara, para su nivel, es de muy pocos megapixeles.

En lo personal me conformo con el iPod Touch, de preferencia el de 32 gigas por favor, tal vez no pueda hacer llamadas ni tomar fotos con el pero bueno, el carecer de estos elementos es una muy buena excusa para poder hacerse de un celular que además de que por logica ofresca la posibilidad de hacer llamadas, también incluya si no la mejor camara del mercado, si una más decente. En fin.

En todo caso de que en nuestro pais el precio resulte inaccesible por mucho tiempo como suele pasar con tantas cosas en este México surrealista, pues bueno, tendre que conformarme con el iPod Classic de 160 gigas…

another useful advice for all your mobile phone needs is how to backup your phone data (important contacts, txt/sms messages…)

this can easily be done by using KMobileTools and a USB cable that came with your phone. KMobileTools has also bluetooth support in their most recent release, so if you fancy bluetooth more than usb, there’s also a way to connect your phone. The more reliable way is USB though, as I’m still using edgy.

The most recent release is 0.5.0-beta3, I’m using 0.5.0-beta1 because it seems some packages of beta3 are not yet supported with edgy. However beta1 doesn’t look bad either with its easy-on-the-eye interface

My phone is quickly connected and recognized by the computer. go to the Device Manager and add your phone there. It lets you pick various connection modes (USB, Bluetooth, Infrared, and Serial Cable…). Pick what suits your best, configure it and then you’re all set.

KMobileTools is distinctive and very easy to use. You shouldn’t have a problem navigating around and backing up all your data!

the reason I’m posting this blog is to remind myself what to do in case I forget the steps that need to be done in order to remote control my machine by using my bluetooth-ed mobile phone (or for yanks “cell phones”).

ok, let’s get started – it might look mega complicated, but in fact it’s a few steps and loads of text explaining why. so don’t panic

this is a mini how-to for ubuntu/linux computers, windows and mac users may look out for a proprietary software called “salling clicker“. linux users don’t need to pay money for the same effect
ok, so here’s a checklist what you need or already should have:

1. a bluetooth enabled sony ericsson phone e.g. W300i or V630i. why sony ericsson? because they come with a special application called “remote control” that you’ll later need.
2. a bluetooth usb dongle …. can be found here: Amazon.com
   shouldn’t cost you more than a few $, pounds, €, etc…
3. ubuntu or any linux distribution installed

ok, after this is sorted, we move on to pair our phone with the computer.
first make sure the usb dongle is plugged into your computer and bluetooth is “switched on” on your phone.

I’m testing this with Ubuntu 6.10 «edgy eft» so if you have a newer release e.g. «feisty fawn» configuration settings might look a bit different.

<EDIT>:

YOU DON’T NEED THESE FOLLOWING STEPS IF YOU’RE USING UBUNTU GUTSY (or even FEISTY) — all of this should be already configured and correctly installed.

Here we go:

First you start a terminal/konsole and install the bluez-utils

sudo apt-get install bluez-utils

next you open the file “/etc/init.d/bluetooth” in your favourite editor (make sure to be root!)

sudo nano /etc/init.d/bluetooth

and search for “HIDD_ENABLED=” it’s probably set to 0 and change it to 1. You’ll need that later to successfully connect your phone to your computer. Apart from that nothing needs to be changed, so just hit ctrl+x, save and you’re set.

Now you need to restart your bluetooth services by typing

sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart

The next step is to “pair” your phone with your computer. But how does your computer find your phone? There’s something called MAC Address that your computer needs to identify your phone.
To find out what’s your phone’s mac address is, simply just type this into your terminal/konsole

hcitool scan

Your output will be something like this: 23:57:F2:0R:78:L4 W300i (note this is a made-up MAC address)

The final step is

sudo hidd --connect YOUR MAC ADDRESS

You will be asked for a password both on your computer as well as on your phone. Make sure it’s the same
This connects your phone with your pc, asking you to allow using sony ericsson’s remote control feature on the phone.

Now you should be all set, you can use it for an Open Office/Power Point presentation, or controlling your mp3 player (Amarok, XMMS, ….) from your bed, or just simply show off in front of your friends by moving the cursor on the desktop

If something doesn’t work, because I may have skipped a step, then you may find this link helpful.

Ubuntu Help
(here you’ll find other remote control plugins/configuration files for your linux machine! amarok.hid , totem.hid, xmms.hid files…..I thought they all work pretty much the same, you might be fine by using the default ones…)

If you’re using the KDE Window manager and enjoy using these KDE applications, like Amarok, Kaffeine, KDE Desktop (you can now even shut down your PC with your phone), then you may find these hid files useful – I did!

In order to send these .hid files to your computer you need to type this in your terminal/konsole:

gnome-obex-send -d YOUR MAC ADDRESS /path/to/filename.hid

ALTERNATIVES:

If your phone doesn’t support hid (Human Interface Device) files (as far as I know only Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones support HID) then you may want to have a look here:

There are several applications (mostly java applications) that do the basically the same – note your phone has to support JAVA. I recommend checking out,

• Remuco – http://remuco.sourceforge.net/index.php/Remuco – seemed a bit complicated from the start, but I’m it’s great!
