Le “président” tchétchène Ramzan Kadyrov vient d’officialiser l’ouverture de la plus grande mosquée d’Europe. Située au coeur de Groznyi, elle pourra accueillir 10 000 fidèles. Mais alors qu’elle doit symboliser la pacification de la région, son inauguration soulève une nouvelle fois la question d’un islam russifié en Tchétchénie.

«La (seconde) guerre en Tchétchénie a été déclenchée (en 1999) pour détruire la Russie mais le peuple tchétchène soutenu par le centre fédéral a fait échouer ces plans», a déclaré M. Kadyrov. Les deux derniers leaders du pays ont toujours entretenu des rapports à géométrie variable avec le dogme. Avant d’être un président pro russe toujours suspecté d’être le responsable de milliers de disparus, Ramzan, dans l’ombre de son père, avait tout d’abord rallié le camp des insurgés et des rebelles. Akhmad Kadyrov, ancien grand mufti du pays avait, quant à lui, lancé le jihad contre les troupes des mécréants venus de Moscou avant de s’aligner sur les positions du Kremlin. Il est mort le 9 mai 2004 dans un attentat perpétré dans le stade de la capitale lors de célébrations nationales.

Le lieu de culte doit, à terme, se muer en véritable complexe religieux. Une Université islamique, une madrasa, une bibliothèque islamique et un foyer pour étudiants font, avec la mosquée, partis d’un ensemble baptisé «Coeur de la Tchétchénie». La Russie expérimente, depuis plusieurs années, une politique de russification de l’islam caucasien. Des centaines d’imam sont formés chaque année au sein de la Fédération loin des courants wahhabistes de la république caucasienne. L’enjeu est clair. Il s’agit de contrôler la région durablement ou de voir se profiler la menace d’une nouvelle guerre basée sur une philosophie échappant aux moscovites. Qu’il s’agisse des troupes impériales, des soviétiques ou de celles de la jeune Fédération, les armées russes ont éprouvé le plus grand mal à pénétrer la forteresse spirituelle du massif. La résistance acharnée de Chamil, troisième imam de tchétchénie, face aux troupes du tsar, en est le parfait exemple. Les rebelles, retranchés dans leur Akhoulgo (forteresse montagnarde conçue à la faveur du relief) avaient alors tenu tête à des unités redoutées partout en Europe.

Après avoir vanté les mérites de ses milices, cultivé un esprit guerrier et affirmé son emprise sur le pays par des actes belliqueux, Ramzan Kadyrov arbore aujourd’hui les atours d’un homme pieux. Il a d’ailleurs fait le pèlerinage à La Mecque et Médine, prône le port du voile et interdit les machines à sous. L’édification du plus vaste lieu de culte musulman d’Europe a été rendue possible par l’injection massive de capitaux russes dans l’économie tchétchène et correspond à une volonté d’instaurer une foi officielle et puissante; une foi qui échapperait au contrôle de rebelles, certes moins actifs mais toujours présents sur le sol de l’ancienne Itchkérie et des républiques alentours.

De naam Adam Gadahn zal voor de meeste bezoekers hier compleet onbekend zijn. Ik kende hem alvast tot voor kort ook niet. Even een kleine achtergrond (recht van Wikipedia gekopieerd en hier geplakt):

Adam Yahiye Gadahn (Arabic: آدم يحيى غدن‎, born Adam Pearlman, September 1, 1978) is an American-born English-speaking senior operative, cultural interpreter, spokesman [1] and media advisor[2] for the Islamist terrorist group Al-Qaeda.

Hij heeft uiteraard geen gelijk met zijn keuze voor Al-Qaida. Het radikale derivaat van de reeds radikale wahhabistische ideologie kan men zowat de “trotskistische groep” binnenin de islam noemen. Een constante wereldrevolutie prediken, los van grenzen of culturele verschillen, waarbij andere interpretaties van de leer worden afgedaan als verraad. Ze zullen niet rusten tot de wereld is verenigd in één grote federatie: het globale kalifaat. Goed vergelijkbaar met een bepaalde strekking het trotskisme, waardoor de groeperingen in die strekking dan ook niet echt graag gezien zijn in de rest van de wereld. De ideologie van Al-Qaida is dan ook verwerpelijk.

Net zoals de Katholieke Kerk verwerpt de islam winst door woeker en rente. Het is inderdaad waar dat de hebzucht van een kleine elite kapitalisten in de VSA heeft geleid tot het opblazen van een enorme zeepbel, waar de bevolking nu de lasten van zal moeten dragen. Privatisering van de baten, nationalisering van de lasten. Dringend tijd om over te gaan tot een nationalisering van de banken en een socialisering van de politieke kaste. Aangezien sociaal-democraten en hun radikalere broeders op de linkerkant incapabel blijken om de oorzaken te bestrijden, zij zien enkel baat in de strijd tegen de gevolgen, zullen het de nationalisten, de solidaristen, moeten zijn die de strijd zullen voeren.

Così mons. Shlemon Warduni, vescovo ausiliare di Baghdad, ha commentato all’agenzia Sir la condanna a morte – da parte dell’autorità irachena – di Ahmed Ali Ahmed, leader di Al Qaeda coinvolto nel rapimento e nell’uccisione dell’arcivescovo di Mosul Paulos Faraj Rahho. Come è noto il presule caldeo era stato rapito il 29 febbraio scorso e trovato morto il 13 marzo. “Mons. Rahho – ha affermato Warduni – non avrebbe accettato una simile condanna. I principi cristiani affermano che non è consentito condannare a morte nessuno e ci invitano al perdono, alla riconciliazione e alla giustizia. Alla Chiesa irachena interessa la pace, la sicurezza e la riconciliazione del Paese”.

Riferendosi all’attuale situazione, mons. Warduni ha riferito di “un qualche miglioramento ed anche a Mosul la gente dice che va un po’ meglio. La speranza è che duri nel tempo e che Al Qaeda venga sconfitta”. La notizia della condanna di Ahmed Ali Ahmed, noto come Abu Omar, è stata data ieri dal portavoce del Governo Ali al-Dabbagh. Fonti militari già due giorni dopo il ritrovamento di mons. Rahho dissero di aver arrestato un uomo coinvolto nel rapimento. La condanna a morte è stata salutata con soddisfazione dall’Ambasciata americana a Baghdad. Non è nota la data dell’esecuzione. (R.G.)

Abu Ayyab al-Masri

BAGHDAD (AsiaNews/Agenzie) – Il capo di al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, è stato arrestato. Lo riferisce il ministro iracheno della Difesa. Ancora nessuna conferma della notizia, però, da parte delle forze statunitensi nel Paese. Il portavoce del ministero dell’Interno, il generale Abdel Karim Khalaf, ha riferito che “a mezzanotte le forze di sicurezza hanno catturato nella provincia di Niniveh uno dei leader di al Qaeda, l’uomo durante l’interrogatorio ha confessato di essere Abu Hamza al Muhajir” (l’altro nome con cui è noto al-Masri). L’arresto è avvenuto durante un’operazione delle truppe irachene in un villaggio a nord di Mosul, capoluogo della provincia e ultima roccaforte urbana dei fondamentalisti sunniti.

Cautela e scetticismo nell’esercito Usa in Iraq, secondo il cui portavoce “sono ancora in corso verifiche”. Un ufficiale americano a Baghdad, invece, sostiene addirittura di dubitare della veridicità dei fatti.

Al-Masri è un egiziano, noto per essere uno dei fedelissimi del giordano al-Zarkawi, il leader di riferimento della rete terroristica in Iraq, rimasto ucciso nel giugno 2006 durante un bombardamento delle forze statunitensi. Ufficialmente l’uomo è dall’aprile 2007 “ministro della Guerra” dell’ “Esercito islamico in Iraq”, organizzazione terroristica comprendente vari gruppi di militanti sunniti e guidata da Abu Omar al Baghdadi. Ma secondo Washington, quest’ultimo è un personaggio fittizio, e il vero capo è al Masri.

Iraqi forces: al-Masri, al Qaeda leader, captured

BAGHDAD (AsiaNews/Agencies) –The head of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyab al-Masri, has been arrested. This according to the Iraqi Defense Minister. The news has yet to be confirmed however by the US security forces. Spokesman for the State Minister, general Abdel Karim Khalaf, referred that they “arrested one of al-Qaeda’s leaders at midnight and during the primary investigations he admitted that he was Abu Hamza al-Muhajir” (also known as al-Masri). The capture took place during an Iraqi troop operation on a village north of Mosul, the provincial capital and the last bastion of Sunni fundamentalism.

The US army in Iraq is cautious and sceptical, their spokesman declaring; “we are still attempting to verify the report”. An American official in Baghdad has also said outright that he doubts the truth of events.

The Egyptian-born militant Al-Masri took over the leadership of the group from Abu Musab al-Zarqawi shortly after he was killed in a US air strike in June 2006. Officially in April 2007, he was named “minister of war” in the 10-man cabinet of the Islamic State of Iraq, an umbrella organisation of Sunni militant groups led by Abu Omar al Baghdadi. But according to Washington the latter is a fictitious identity, and the true head of the organisation is in fact Masri.

Un décret royal vient d’autoriser les Saoudiennes à séjourner seules dans les grands hôtels “sans être accompagnée d’un Mahram” (tuteur). D’après la déclaration de Mofleh Al-Qahtani, vice-président de l’Association nationale des droits de l’Homme (ANDH), cette autorisation sera soumise à des règles strictes concernant l’emplacement des chambres réservées aux clientes. Selon une circulaire du ministère saoudien du Commerce et de l’Industrie, les chambres des femmes devront en effet être éloignées de celles des clients- masculins, cela va sans dire. Une pièce d’identité sera nécessaire pour accéder aux hôtels dont la direction en informera le poste de police le plus proche, tout “en lui fournissant une copie de la carte d’identité” de la cliente.
Les milieux féminins ont accueilli favorablement cette mesure permettant de faciliter les déplacements des femmes à l’intérieur du pays, en particulier des femmes d’affaires qui essuient souvent les refus des hôtels parce que non-accompagnées d’élément masculin. En Arabie saoudite, qui applique rigoureusement les principes du wahhabisme, une femme ne peut se trouver en compagnie d’un homme n’appartenant pas à sa famille proche, c’est-à-dire son grand-père, son père, son oncle, son mari, un fils, un frère. Elle ne peut pas voyager sans autorisation de son mari ou d’un homme de sa famille. Ainsi une Saoudienne ne peut obtenir de passeport sans la présence du mari ou d’un membre masculin de sa famille proche. Ni d’ailleurs contracter un prêt. Vêtue de manière “correcte”, c’est-à-dire couverte de la tête aux pieds, elle ne peut également manger seule dans un restaurant, n’a pas le droit de conduire, et reste privée des droits civiques (¹)
L’Arabie Saoudite est le seule pays de la planète à interdire aux femmes de conduire, qu’elles soient saoudiennes ou de nationalité étrangère. Les femmes dépendent totalement d’un parent masculin pour aller travailler, faire diverses démarches ou se faire soigner. Les familles les plus argentées engagent des chauffeurs pour 216 à 360 euros par mois. Mohammed Al-Zulfa, membre du conseil consultatif de la Shura (une assemblée de dignitaires religieux), avait demandé en mai 2005 une réflexion sur la possibilité d’autoriser les femmes de plus de 35 ou 40 ans à conduire seule en ville et accompagnée d’un chaperon sur les routes nationales… Cette proposition pourtant rétrograde avait déclenché un tôlé parmi ses collègues, qui lancèrent des appels au limogeage et au retrait de sa nationalité !
D’après le monde.fr (²), des Saoudiennes ont visiblement fait circuler, dès janvier, une pétition sur le net adressée au roi Abdallah, pour obtenir la levée de cette interdiction dans l’année 2008. Tandis qu’une ONG pour la défense des droits des femmes est mise en place sous le vocable “projet Ansar Al-Marah” (Les Partisans de la femme). D’après Soulimane Al-Salmane, l’un des fondateurs de la future organisation, “aider les femmes à obtenir leurs droits, qui sont ignorés ou abolis par la loi ou les coutumes, ne contredit pas l’islam, qui ne prive pas la femme de ses droits de disposer de son propre argent, de conduire ou de choisir son mari”. En somme, il est temps de permettre à la femme saoudienne de jouir pleinement des droits potentiels que la charia peut lui octroyer ! Du 04 au 13 février à l’invitation de Ryad, Yakin Ertürk, rapporteuse spéciale de l’ONU sur la violence contre les femmes, rencontrera des représentants du gouvernement saoudien, des élus et responsables locaux, des officiels des Nations Unis et des “victimes de la violence”. On imagine qu’elle se rendra au pays de la famille Saoud pour défendre la condition féminine, en “abaya”, en “hijab”, ou au pire sous “niqab”.

pt. 1: 200 lashes for Saudi gang rape victim

A Saudi woman has been sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in prison after she was the victim of a gang rape.

The sentence against the 19-year-old Shia woman from Qatif, in the Eastern Province of the country, was passed because she was in the car of a man who was not a relative at the time of the attack, which contravened strict Saudi laws on segregation.

A court had originally sentenced the woman to 90 lashes and the rapists to jail terms of between 10 months and five years but increased the punishment after an appeal, saying the woman had tried to use the media to influence them.

According to the Arab News newspaper, the woman was gang-raped 14 times.

Her offence was in meeting a former boyfriend, whom she had asked to return pictures he had of her because she was about to marry another man.

The couple was sitting in a car when a group of seven Sunni men kidnapped them and raped them both, lawyers in the case told Arab News.

The former boyfriend was also sentenced to 90 lashes for being with her in private.

The victims’ lawyer, Abdul-Rahman al-Lahem, was also ordered to face disciplinary action after he spoke to the media about the original sentence.

“My client is the victim of this abhorrent crime. I believe her sentence contravenes the Islamic Sharia law and violates the pertinent international conventions,” he said.

“The judicial bodies should have dealt with this girl as the victim rather than the culprit.

“The court blamed the girl for being alone with unrelated men, but it should have taken the humane view that it cannot be considered her fault.”

The crime of rape can carry the death penalty in Saudi Arabia.

pt. 2: Saudi Arabia to review sentence on rape victim

Saudi Arabia has promised to review a court’s decision to sentence a rape victim to 200 lashes after the verdict sparked international outcry.

The US State Department was joined by human rights groups in condemning the ruling. Hillary Clinton, the Democratic frontrunner, described it as an “outrage”.

The 19-year-old victim was raped by seven men after the car in which she was travelling was forcibly stopped.

She was sentenced to 90 lashes and six months in prison because she was in the car with a man who was not a close relative.

When her husband then publicly criticised the judicial system, an appeals court judge increased the sentence to 200 lashes. The sentence has yet to be carried out.

Adel al-Jubeir, the Saudi ambassador to Washington, said the case would be re-examined.

“This case is working its way through the legal process. I have no doubt that justice will prevail.”

Saudi Arabia has condemned Western interference in the case of a rape victim who was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in prison.

The Saudi Justice Ministry today confirmed that the flogging sentence would be carried out after the 19-year-old admitted to cheating on her husband in violation of Islamic laws.

The case sparked an international outcry after a Saudi court sentenced the girl to 90 lashes and a prison-term because she was in a car with a man who was not a close relative.

When her husband then publicly criticised the judicial system, an appeals court judge increased the sentence to 200 lashes.

Her offence was in meeting a former boyfriend, whom she had asked to return pictures he had of her because she was about to marry another man.

A review of the sentence was ordered after condemnation from the international community and human rights groups.

However the Saudi Justice Ministry today maintained that the ruling was legal and followed the “the book of God and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad”.

The Justice Ministry’s account of the incident differed substantially from that given by the woman and her lawyer.

It largely glossed over her rape, focusing instead on her plan to meet her lover in his car “in a dark place where they stayed for a while”.

“Then they where spotted by the other defendants as the woman was in an indecent condition as she had tossed away her clothes, then the assault occurred on her and the man,” the statement said.

“The Saudi justice minister expressed his regret about the media reports over the role of the women in this case which put out false information and wrongly defend her.

“The charged girl is a married woman who confessed to having an affair with the man she was caught with.”

Under Saudi Arabia’s strict interpretation of Islamic Sharia law, women are not allowed in public in the company of men other than their male relatives.

Jadi, pertama wanita yang (dengan berprasangka buruk sedikit) dinikahkan paksa di usia 19 ini, menemui mantan pacarnya untuk ‘menyita’ sejumlah foto-foto; tentunya didasarkan niat menjadi istri yang baik. Kemudian, shit happened dan sang wanita malang di-gangbang sampai empat belas kali. Hadiahnya, jangankan dihibur dari sebuah syok psikologis yang hebat, pemerintah menghadiahinya hukuman cambuk, plus tiket menginap selama beberapa bulan di hotel prodeo.

Lumayan berbahaya buat image Islam secara umum… IMO mesti ada upaya menolak hak Wahhabisme untuk tampil seolah-olah sebagai aliran yang representatif terhadap Islam. Atau ada komentar lain?
