We are being driven down a dead-end road. When our president says “Only the rich will have an increase in their taxes” or “It’s time that the rich pay their fair share”, it really makes me cringe.

Bill Cosby is one of the richest men in America. He earned his own fortune and he doesn’t owe me a dime. Neither does Bill Gates or Bill, my neighbor.

History always repeats itself. Hitler said that the Jews should pay. Mussolini said the Masons needed to pay. Stalin said those who have something must share it with others or give it up. Now, Obama is telling America that it’s time for us to pay up.

I’m not a Jew or a Mason and I don’t even have anything the government wants, but I do have principals and I do know right from wrong.

The people who want their neighbor to pay for their mortgage, health-care or ongoing welfare are truly nescient. They blindly accept the handouts, unaware that every time they accept another dollar, they empower the government a little bit more.

I do not expect my neighbor to pay for my wife, my family or me regardless of my neighbor’s income level. For any politician to use this as “justification for confiscation” is criminally, if not morally, corrupt.

I’ll pay my own way, thank you.

It’s time to wake up America!  WAR ON POVERTY  Our elected officials are forced by laws they passed themselves, to give themselves another raise!  No social security increase for 2 years, following a government approved panel of review.  How does this work?

The silence from our taxing us again crew in Washington DC is deafening!  We know those Representatives and Senators that spend a couple of million dollars to get elected, don’t have any financial gains made while serving us citizens!  I would spend $50,000 to get hired at WalMart!  Somehow this doesn’t add up?  Could it be they find extra money because Representative Rangel runs a school for scandal?  Representative Jefferson only had $90,000 in his freezer!

The fact finding spirit can be ignited, by getting some of these Senators and Representatives on the unemployment line!  Of course, they got some money stashed here and there for a rainy day.  When it rains on us, it pours for them!

This may seem like an odd question.  Why are the 8 million unemployed invisible?  Nobody shows the children without winter clothes, while mom and dad face eviction into the street.  How many shelters and food pantries are being run by church groups that are ridiculed as ultra right threats to the elite intelligentisia of the liberals?  How many atheist liberal aid organizations are there helping the homeless and hungry?  Oh, forgot, the government is their church.  We pay taxes, so they can feel good helping the people they got out of work by more taxes and regulations on us.

When we are lectured about being sensitive to offending those less fortunate, that’s us!  Wake up America!  We are marching into poverty.  WAR ON POVERTY is not possible if we are all poor.

It’s obvious to this blogger that President Obama is no friend of the military. Marines are still being slaughtered in Afghanistan and General Stanley Mcchrystal  called on the President to urgently send in more troops. What did he get from the President? No response.

Soldiers were slaughtered yesterday in Texas by one of their own. And what does the military, the families and the American public get from the President? This Robert A. George story says it all.

President Obama didn’t wait long after Tuesday’s devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a “shout-out” to “Dr. Joe Medicine Crow — that Congressional Medal of Honor winner.” Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That’s the least that should occur.

Indeed, an argument could be made that Obama should have canceled the Indian event, out of respect for people having been murdered at an Army post a few hours before. That would have prevented any sort of jarring emotional switch at the event.

Did the president’s team not realize what sort of image they were presenting to the country at this moment? The disconnect between what Americans at home knew had been going on — and the initial words coming out of their president’s mouth was jolting, if not disturbing.

It must have been disappointing for many politically aware Democrats, still reeling from the election two days before. The New Jersey gubernatorial vote had already demonstrated that the president and his political team couldn’t produce a winning outcome in a state very friendly to Democrats (and where the president won by 15 points one year ago). And now this? Congressional Democrats must wonder if a White House that has burdened them with a too-heavy policy agenda over the last year has a strong enough political operation to help push that agenda through.

If the president’s communications apparatus can’t inform — and protect — their boss during tense moments when the country needs to see a focused commander-in-chief and a compassionate head of state, it has disastrous consequences for that president’s party and supporters.

All the president’s men (and women) fell down on the job Thursday.  And Democrats across the country have real reason to panic.

It Began the same with "power" with HItler, are we repeating history?

Today I had the privilege of speaking with an 80 + lady who came here from Lithuania in 1948. Her father was in a bread line in Germany and shot by Hitler’s military for speaking his mind. She and her other 4 siblings eventually made it to America, she’s an immigrant who is now a proud citizen of this country. I will call her” Maggie…”.

Today, as she recanted the many details to me of her life, with a quiver in her voice and I would bet tears streaming down her cheeks with her english touched with her European accent, she expressed the fears of so many of us.

She has a wonderful daughter and son-in-law that are taking awesome care of her since they relocated here from Chicago a few years ago. This fabulous woman was schooled in Europe where she learned 4 languages and still speaks all of them and educated  in the health care field as an RN and also able to work with the pathologists, she’s no dummy by far and fine tuned her skills during the World War II era. 

She said she prays every day to God to save the United States from the destruction which lies ahead. She grew up with socialized medicine and the same type of  plans President Obama is now implementing, all for the sake of power,as Hitler did. She survived and her siblings and her Mom…..many didn’t and she watched as they died the elderly from lack of adequate medicine or the wrong dosages and children and lack of food. It was a period of living hell. All her siblings were separated and sent to different countries, she went to China first,and eventually they all were reunited here. She spoke of the amazing courage of her Mom and her brother. Her voice quaked again.

She said that what we are currently experiencing here is all about “POWER AND CONTROL” by President Obama and his cohorts which has been planned for some time. She said most Americans are not aware as the history of that time hasn’t been told accurately. She is filled with fear for all of us. She knows first hand what is coming down the pike within the next 20 years. “It starts slowly with Socialized Medicine and little by little more and more rights are taken away until the government has total control’….”

I could relate so well to her story, I have read enough, talked to history students and scholars and know the evidence is clear. We are becoming a communistic society by the whims of our current Presidents desire for power. She merely confirmed to me all I have already suspected.

Her plea for all of us….to act now. To pray to God daily for courage and help to undo this mighty threat to our freedoms, to speak out before it has gone on so long we have no right to speak…to write….to educate. She knows full well from working in the environs of the hospitals here that the elderly are already suffering maltreatment and improper use of medications, after all she only retired a few years past when she was 72 as a highly respected professional. She has nothing to gain….except she knows she is doing her part to educate all of us as to the dangers that lay in front of us.

Now will you heed my warnings? Listen to the thoughts of Fox News or Mr. Beck? Will all of us unite and see the tremendously huge threat to the existence of our very nation before it’s too late?

I am not really sure what any of us can do except PRAY for God’s help….and to spread the truth from sea to shining sea…..If we are all united there is power, much more than on elected official has. Wake up….research and read the current events….We all can save this country but it takes is not burying  our heads in the sand and knowing how Communism, Socialism gains a foot hold….Do you know? Do you remember? Talk to a woman like Maggie or a survivor of the Holocaust if you have doubts…..they lived it and escaped to a free America and are trying to help all of us to remain free and powerful in our own rights, not at the hand of a dictatorship of a power monger,leader  and his Czars, which we elected.

Do your part….spread this word….help all of us to survive.

The government is moving ever so quickly to push their new Health Care Bill.  They talk about how great this new health care reform is, how it will provide health care to all the uninsured Americans, how it will ONLY cost $800 billion, and the most ridiculous of all – that is will not add ONE DIME to the federal debt.

Okay, so let’s look at this from an economics standpoint, since the big worry on the minds of Americans is the economy.  When the government puts money IN to the economy through things such “stimulus” spending causes an interesting effect known as inflation.  So what happens when inflation goes up?  Good question, and the simple answer is that prices for goods and services go up, and when that happens your income is shot to hell.  How that works is this, let’s say you have $1000 leftover from paying your mortgage and other bills.  Well, when you used to spend $300 on food, you’re now spending $400.  And when you used to spend $100 on various fun things, you’re now spending $200.  Well, now you’ve only got $200 left when you used to have $600 left.  You’re LOSING money when inflation goes up because it’s all based on percentages.  Inflation causes costs to eat up a larger percent of your income.

Oh but the government is SAVING our economy by saving jobs and preventing companies from going bankrupt.  This is why you’re buying in to it.  The White House even says that the increases in GDP are a direct result of the stimulus spending and other federal maneuvers from the last year.   That’s hogwash!  Why? Because the GDP increased as a direct comparison from where it was the previous quarter – and where was it?  Oh that’s right it had fallen 14.5% before this 3.5% increase.  That’s right for three consecutive quarters after and throughout all the billions of stimulus spending the GDP continued to fall, the stock market didn’t make significant movements, and the unemployment continued going down.  Obama said himself unemployment wouldn’t go lower than 8%, but now it’s at 10%.  Besides that, where did the stimulus money go?  Well, it mostly went to the financial sector and business that were in trouble of going bankrupt.  WHAT ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!  WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO SEE A DOLLAR!  If you ask me, the only reason the economy is coming back to life is because the American people never gave up.  They looked for work, they still spent money, and they took their lumps and kept on going.

That’s right Mr. President, and the rest of you government communists – it was us, not you!

These businesses, the ones that got the stimulus money… they were going under, and were doing so because of foolish business practices and faulty investments.  When I lost money in the stock market no one from the White House said, “Oh, you didn’t know that was going to happen so here’s your money back.”  In fact, if I decided to invest in someone’s new business and it went under then it’s my fault isn’t it?  Take the car companies for example; is it the taxpayer’s fault that their foreign competition was producing products that Americans wanted more?  Why is the government throwing money into a broken system?  It would be so much better to let them fail, because then other Americans would come forward, with new businesses and better products that would succeed where the others failed.  I’m not saying that it wouldn’t be hard for all the jobs that get lost – but again, it’s their own faults.  In fact, I wonder if the labor unions were created so much cost that the businesses couldn’t compensate with sales and therefore adding to the problem.  Something to… think about.

This Health Care Bill will INCREASE our federal debt.  There’s no doubt about it, it will increase taxes, fees, and the costs of healthcare.  When the healthcare industry is unable to compete with the government they will have to decrease their monetary output to doctors, hospitals, and what they are willing to pay for your care.  The White House keeps calling it the “competitive” option, but that’s not true because the government can make their rates whatever they want, and as low as they want.  How you ask?  TAXES!

I don’t even know why Congress is even working so hard to pass this bill.  Because the President said so?  Last I heard the congressmen were supposed to answer to the people, not the president.  In fact, in my first posting about the US Constitution I talked about their responsibility to keep the president in check, not follow him blindly over a cliff.  What do the American people have to say about the bill?  Gallup reports that only 25% of Americans support the health care bill, 33% oppose it, and another 39% say that it depends on the details of the bill.  Well, how do Americans see the details working out?  49% of Americans think their personal costs of health care will get worse.  77% say that health care coverage will either not improve, or get worse.  Finally, 79% think that the quality of insurance will either not improve or get worse.

Government spending does not promote economic growth, and the growth that does happen is short term if at all.  The only way they can stimulate growth is by providing motivation for the people to spend, rather than government.  When people purchase goods and services they promote business spending, job growth, and more people able to spend and contribute to the cycle.  Preventing further job loss doesn’t necessarily create job growth.  Why doesn’t the President realize this?  Oh that’s right, he has no education in finance, economics, or accounting.  He’s a public planner.

AMERICA… say no to bigger government, government spending, and laws that hand your freedoms over to them.  Vote against the socialists and communist reformers currently in Washington.  It’s time to tell politicians, Democrats and Republicans alike, that we’re done with their unethical rule of OUR nation.

Old B.O. has been  a busy boy this week and if you weren’t paying attention, he took a little more of our freedom yesterday. The Allied Defense Fund calls it “another nail in the coffin of The First Amendment”. I think that is a pretty good summation.

A “hate crimes” bill opponents claim will be used to crack down on Christian speech, even the reading of the Bible, was signed into law today by President Obama.

The Senate approved the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act by a vote of 68-29 on Oct. 22 after Democrats strategically attached it to a “must-pass” $680 billion defense appropriations plan.

Most Republicans, although normally strong supporters of the U.S. military, opposed the bill because it hands out federal money to states and local governments in pursuit of “preventing” hate crimes. The bill creates federal protections and privileges for homosexuals and other alternative lifestyles but denies those protections to other groups of citizens.

Obama signed the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act at a White House ceremony today. Prior to signing the act into law, Obama spoke briefly of the hate crimes bill.

“After more than a decade, we’ve passed inclusive hate-crimes legislation to help protect our citizens from violence based on what they look like, who they love, how they pray or who they are,” he said. “I promised Judy Shepard when she saw me in the Oval Office that this day would come, and I’m glad that she and her husband, Dennis, could join us for this event. I’m also honored to have the family of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy who fought so hard for this legislation. I just want you all to know how proud we are of the work that Ted did to help make this day possible.”

American Family Association President Tim Wildmon warned that the new law “creates a kind of caste system in law enforcement, where the perverse thing is that people who engage in non-normative sexual behavior will have more legal protection than heterosexuals. This kind of inequality before the law is simply un-American.”

Wildmon said the legislation creates possible situations where pastors may be arrested if their sermons on sexuality can be linked in even the remotest way to acts of violence.

“It threatens free speech and freedom of religion and is totally unacceptable,” he said.

If you’re against illegal immigration and for states rights, then you just gotta love Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The famous Arizona lawman told the Obama administration to take a flying f%#k at a rolling doughnut this past week.

The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Arpaio’s office over allegations of discrimination and unconstitutional searches. The Feds limited his powers to make federal immigration arrests on Friday, but Sheriff Joe says it’s gonna be business as usual.

“It doesn’t bother me, because we are going to do the same thing,” said Arpaio, whose department had arrested 16 more people by Friday evening on unspecified charges. “I am the elected sheriff. I don’t take orders from the federal government.”

This is another instance of the federal government and the Obama administration in particular over stepping its bounds on the rights of the states. How can the border states possibly let illegal immigration go unchecked? The answer is they just can’t.

The border states are currently drowning under the massive financial burden of caring for the millions of illegal aliens already here, California being the poster child. Unlike the federal government, the states aren’t able to go out and print more money whenever they need it.

The flood of illegal aliens has to be stopped somehow. The feds solution? Legalize them all and the problem will just go away. If we legalize them all, our problems now will seem very petty by comparison.

We’re lucky that we’ve still got Sheriff Joe on the job.

Do our elected officials in D.C. really want what’s best for our troops? Sure doesn’t seem that way. It seems like they just want more pork for their constituents. Lots of Pork = Easy Reelection.

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.

While earmarks are hardly new in Washington, “in 30 years on Capitol Hill, I never saw Congress mangle the defense budget as badly as this year,” said Winslow Wheeler, a former Senate staffer who worked on defense funding and oversight for both Republicans and Democrats. He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.

Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, called the transfer of funds from Pentagon operations and maintenance “a disgrace.”

“The Senate is putting favorable headlines back home above our men and women fighting on the front lines,” he said in a statement.

Wake Up America!

Many Americans who thought that the health care debate was important must have wondered where their congressmen were in early August during the first two weeks of the House of Representatives recess.  It turns out they were not hosting town hall meetings or listening to constituents because many of them were in Israel together with their spouses on a trip paid for by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).  Fully 13% of the entire US House of Representatives, 56 members, traveled to Israel in the largest AIPAC-sponsored fact-finding visit by American politicians ever conducted.  And the leaders of the two congressional groups, 25 Republicans for a week starting on August 2nd followed by 31 Democrats beginning on August 13th, were drawn from the top ranks of their respective parties.  House Minority whip Eric Cantor headed the Republican group and House Majority leader Steny Hoyer led the Democrats.

Cantor and Hoyer are longtime enthusiasts for Israel and all its works.  In January, when Israel was pounding Gaza to rubble and killing over a thousand civilians, Hoyer and Cantor wrote an op-ed entitled “A Defensive War,” which began with “During this difficult war in the Gaza Strip, we stand with Israel.”  Why?  Because “Instead of building roads, bridges, schools and industry, Hamas and other terrorists wasted millions turning Gaza into an armory.” Hoyer and Cantor, clearly noticing a militarization of the Gaza Strip that no else quite picked up on, also affirmed that Israel occupied the moral high ground in the conflict, “While Israel targets military combatants, Hamas aims to kill as many civilians as possible.”  That Hoyer and Cantor were completely wrong on this vital point as well as others, in fact reversing the truth, has never resulted in an apology or a correction of the record from either lawmaker.

And there’s more.  In May 2009, Cantor and Hoyer teamed up again in a congressional letter sent to their colleagues in congress.  The message described how Washington must be “both a trusted mediator and a devoted friend to Israel” because “Israel will be taking the greatest risks in any peace agreement.”  AIPAC couldn’t have put it better.  In fact, AIPAC wrote the missive since Cantor and Hoyer apparently needed a little help to get the message just right. The actual source of the letter was revealed when the document was circulated with the file name “AIPAC Letter Hoyer Cantor May 2009.pdf,” which the intrepid congressional duo had failed to change before sending out.

The August congressional junkets were paid for by the American Israel Education Foundation, which is a non-profit foundation that is part of AIPAC.  The non-profit foundation part means that the trip to convince already acquiescent congressmen that Israel needs more aid and special treatment was more-or-less subsidized by the US taxpayer.  Taking congressmen to Israel to make sure they understand the issues properly is not exactly new, but the scale and seniority of the recent visits sent a clear message to President Barack Obama that he should not pressure Israel in any way or he will face bipartisan opposition, opposition that he will not be able to overcome.  It appears that Obama might have already received the message loud and clear if the rumors that he will harden his line on Iran and soften his approach to Tel Aviv to permit Israeli settlement expansion are true.

The current Israeli government line as regurgitated by AIPAC is an attempt, aided and abetted by the congressional visitors, to shift the narrative.  According to AIPAC and Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, the settlements have nothing to do with the issue of negotiating peace so Israel should be able to continue to expand its occupation of Arab East Jerusalem without any restraint while permitting “natural growth” in the other West Bank settlements.  Israel claims to be willing to talk peace with the Palestinians while decrying that there is no one to talk to. Tel Aviv and its cheerleaders in Washington insist that the real threat to peace in the Middle East is Iran, which is seeking a nuclear weapon and will use it to bomb Israel and arm terrorists to attack the United States.

Eric Cantor was fully on-message, prepping his group by writing an op-ed for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz on August 3rd.  He wrote that “Israel is not only a democratic ally and our only true friend in the Middle East; it is also a vital pillar of US national security strategy…Israel has a right to accommodate the natural growth of its population…excessive handwringing over natural growth is a diversion from the main threat in the Middle East:  Iran.”  If the line sounds familiar, it should as it is straight out of Israel and AIPAC’s playbook garnished with its ridiculous pretense that Israel is some kind of strategic asset and an eternal friend.

Cantor and Hoyer’s lawmaker colleagues apparently benefited greatly from their travels, which included a visit to the illegal West Bank settlement of Alfei Menashe to express solidarity with the heroic and widely misunderstood Israeli settlers.  According to Cantor there should not be any confusion about who is doing what to whom in the Middle East.  In describing the purpose of the trip, he noted that his Republican colleagues were eager to learn about “…the challenges on the ground in the Middle East, especially those challenges faced by Israel.”  He then returned to his script, describing the situation in more detail and expressing his concern about the “…focus being placed on settlements and settlement growth when the real threat is the existential threat that Israel faces from Iran and the impending nuclearization of Iran.”

During the trip itself, Cantor could hardly shut up about how much he loves Israel and its policies, no matter what those policies are.  When two Arab families were evicted from their homes in Jerusalem, resulting in a worldwide protest that included criticism from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Cantor discovered another way to look at the situation.  He complained about Clinton, “I’m very troubled by that, because I don’t think we in America would want another country telling us how to implement and execute our laws.”

Cantor’s travelmates evidently agreed with his rosy view of all things Israeli.  Steve Scalise marveled at “all the things that the people of Israel have been through,” while Louie Gohmert pressed Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad for a commitment to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, apparently oblivious to the fact that the status of a Muslim or a Christian in a Jewish state would be somewhat precarious.  Leonard Lance called for working together against Iran while Mike Coffman noted that the Obama Administration failed to comprehend “the magnitude of this threat of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.”  Perhaps Coffman and Lance should read some of the intelligence that the US government produces at great expense which reveals that Iran has no nuclear weapons program.

Congressman Pete Olson reported that he had known in “his head” how important the relationship with Israel was and, after three days, knew it also in his heart.  Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who has been to Israel seven times and is the author of numerous pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian resolutions in the House, called Israel “our US ally against the violent extremists” and twittered to her constituents a gushing account of her “amazing dinner with soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces.  Courageous young men…”

Hoyer, who has been to Israel a dozen times, led the cheerleading for the Democrats.  The House Majority leader contradicted his own party’s president in finding that the settlements were not a “big issue” hindering a peace agreement, noting that they should be a “subject of negotiations.”  The real problem for Hoyer was completely predictably the Palestinians, specifically the “unwillingness of Abbas to sit down now.”  Hoyer also declared Jerusalem to be a “unified city” under Israeli control and reiterated Congressman’s Gohmert’s demand that the Palestinians recognized Israel as a Jewish State, neither of which is US policy.  Shelly Berkley, who has never met an Israeli she didn’t like, put it more bluntly, “The goals of this trip are to express Congress’s solidarity with the State of Israel and to find out what Israel’s needs are.”  Representative Kendrick Meek welcomed his opportunity to visit Israel to help him “make better decisions as a member of congress.”

President George Washington counseled explicitly against getting involved in the quarrels of foreign nations.  What would he think of Hoyer and Cantor and the drones that followed them to Israel on a “fact finding” trip paid for by the Israel Lobby?  Words like “disloyalty” come to mind immediately, but the AIPAC trips targeting congress are signs of a deeper problem.  Many congressmen undoubtedly display knee-jerk support for Israel either because it is career enhancing or because they are afraid not to.  Those who truly believe that Israel’s interests are of paramount importance and that the United States ought to go to war on its behalf should perhaps find another line of work.  If they retain even a shred of decency and love of country, it is time for Cantor, Hoyer and others like them to go away.  They should leave quietly but do so quickly.  The well-being of the United States and its citizens demands it.

THE RECLAMATION OF INDEPENDENCE

WHEN IN THE GENERATIONS  SUCCEEDING the one that pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to usher in the birth of the world’s only truly free nation, Liberty’s Progeny incrementally ceded their birthright to the government conceived and designed to serve a free people, and not be its servant, this generation is awakening to the terrible mistake that we, and our ancestors allowed to happen.  Charged with the terrible knowledge that comes with opened eyes, we now take up the long abdicated duty to rouse our fellow citizens and actively wrest the power and the liberties that have been progressively talked, cajoled, threatened, wheedled, and extorted from us, not only by those who ostensibly served us, but by their supporters and enablers who, by accident or design, saw fit to usurp and disdain such freedoms, that they might be withheld, and where impossible to withhold, might be condemned, until a corrosive contempt for these liberties, wrapped in velvet gloves, might so suffocate the circulation of them that this nation, conceived in liberty and the providence of a wise and benevolent creator, might indeed perish from the earth, plunging the rightful heirs of a proud and noble heritage in the the darkened waters of chaos, despair, and evil that surround them, a dank deluge that even today, other human beings actively seek to escape from in the inspiring embrace of this blessed and free country.

1. We reclaim our independence from the tyranny of ‘Political Correctness’.

The Constitution does not now, nor has it ever guaranteed a right to be free from being offended.  Early successes in causing the disruption of free speech by insisting on the use of words or terms stripped of their meaning or altered by redefinition and deliberate use of ephemism, in order to avoid offending more delicate sensibilities lead to its use to deliberately avoid, delay, or prevent the free exchange and communication of ideas because we allowed ourselves to be more afraid of offending someone or being branded with a label chosen to imply that there was a problem with the offending speaker, rather than the intended recipient.

No more.

Words have meaning and names have power.  But truth overcomes, when it is given the opportunity to exist unfettered by the artificial restraints that those who fear it would place upon it.  The Founding Fathers knew this, which is why they favored the “marketplace of ideas” approach.  And we now ratify and affirm this concept, having borne witness to the damage and impaired decision making that results when we remain silent and let others avoid any real discussion of topics, events, and ideas out of the fear that we might offend someone.

2. We reclaim our independence from your victimhood.

For too long, we have stood by silently, and allowed some to increasingly balkanize this country with sob stories of how one thing or another makes them a victim, and therefore they deserve some special deference, special preference, and recognition that they are special.   We watched for too long, with growing alarm, as the hyphenated-Americans increasingly failed to take it upon themselves to overcome their victim status, yet continually expect to be rewarded for it as they brandished their victimhood like a cudgel, ready to bludgeon any who dared to question their entitlements and almost rapacious appetites to expand them.

No more.

One of the many unique blessings that this country has to offer is the presence of second and third and fourth chances.  Others know this, and rather than think that the good things available to those who work for them were something that they were simply entitled to by virtue of their sob story, real or imagined, they decided to man up, and overcome.  That doesn’t happen through accepting help and deciding to continually demand more. We are a generous people, but there are limits.  Decide of your own accord to know the satisfaction of making your own destiny, rather than subsistence on the labor of others.  You might be surprised at what you accomplish, or how that might come to benefit your fellow citizen in ways that you cannot even imagine.

3.  We reclaim our independence from the myth of a compelling interest in diversity at the cost of excellence.

The latest affront to the ‘American Exceptionalism’ that our current President feels the need to apologize for in foreign capitols is the recent notion of a “compelling interest in diversity in our government, our institutions, and our culture”.   This is the bastard child of Political Correctness and victimhood, which would not have been possible without the misapprehension of the concept of equality as enshrined in our law, the correct interpretation being that citizens of this country have equality of opportunity and equality in stature in the eyes of the laws that govern us.  Once the “right” of offense took hold and started keeping company with victimhood, those benefiting from the employment of both decided that equality really meant that everyone had a right to be to be surrounded in all walks of life by people who looked just like them, whether those people were qualified to fulfill those roles or not.

No more.

Americans rose to prominence in the world in no small part due to the idea of merit and the pursuit of excellence.  This was embodied in our government and institutions as much as in the private sector.  Civil Service exams for public sector jobs ensured not only that people could do the work required of them, but that the best qualified were hired to do the job.   Now, the standard in many fire departments, police departments, government agencies, and university staffs is not excellence, but the color of skin, gender, or sexual preference.  The identity has eclipsed ability and we are all the poorer for it.  Prepare for a change.

4. We reclaim our independence from the contempt of our citizenship.

For too long, we have silently permitted others to use the appeal of emotion to exact our acquiescence in their actively allowing people who have violated our laws to come here to live and work among us without asking permission to do so, or obeying our laws in doing so.   We have allowed others to cajole us into allowing these persons to use our resources, and take benefits intended for citizens, without them being required to become citizens or apply for residence.  We have been too long silent as others continually advocate for the application of the protections that are conferred upon us as our birthright to those who are not citizens and have tried to kill citizens, or have expressed a deep-seated desire to do so.

No more.

No sane person so despises something of value that is theirs by virtue of “the accident of birth” that they simply would give it away to others who want it and yet show contempt for those who have it by stealing it from them.  Likewise, no sane person so dishonors a gift purchased with the blood of others that they will give it to those who only desire to kill or enslave them.  No longer will we be silent as others confer all the benefits and protections of citizenship upon those who disrespect it, or would steal such benefits and protections without assuming the responsibility to pay for them, or worse yet, murder us because we have them.

5.  We reclaim our independence from the “Freedom from religion” that has erroneously been read into the Constitution.

From the institution of Thanksgiving, to the architecture of our public buildings and monuments, the opening of government proceedings, down to the acknowledgement on our currency, this country has very deep and undeniable judeo-christian roots, and has been governed by leaders who unashamedly proclaimed their according personal beliefs while in office.   It has influenced our laws and been the bedrock of every ideal that has allowed this nation to grow and prosper.  This heritage has been the target of a decades long campaign to shove God out of the public square and exile him from congress with our elected officials by people who have refused the notion of a higher authority, because their own beliefs and desires are in contravention to those expressed by that higher authority.

No more.

Assaulting our national heritage with such dubious legal notions such as a separation of church and state that forbids any mention of God or expression of religion on or in state-owned property, and dismantling existing law with the fallacious statement “You can’t legislate morality” does violence to our history and demonstrates weak logic and understanding of what law is.  The Founding Fathers’ intent with the Establishment Clause was the prevention of any one church gaining the favor and sanction of the Federal Government.  A ban on ANY expression of religion or belief in God was never their intention, and the evidence of that is still surrounding us to this day.  The current state of the law is based on a false premise that can be easily dismissed by a simple walk around the monuments and buildings in the District of Columbia, and taking out you wallet to pay for an ice cream cone.   As for the “You can’t legislate morality” canard, this is also false.   The law is, in its most simple essence, an expression of morality, codified.  The question that then arises is whose morality should be expressed in the law?   Those of people who can point to no particular belief system that has certain valuable virtues at its core, or those that can?

6.  We reclaim independence from the cynical attempts to use shame to stop us from speaking out.

We have all felt this.  The accusations that we are poor Christians because we refuse to give the government power not granted to it in the Constitution and go along with the currently contemplated healthcare reform bill.  The charges that we hate the Earth and our children, because we oppose the highest single tax increase ever, combined with the deleterious effect on American jobs that would result in the passage of the Cap and Tax bill, which owes its existence to the myth of man-made global warming and the fact that it feeds the Federal Government its two favorite entrees:  money and power.  The charges that we are bad, greedy, selfish people for not supporting the idea that government and welfare entitlements are the way to improve the lives of Americans who are struggling, whatever the reason.   The charges of “Racism” whenever we raise a provocative question or level a criticism at a person, policy, or idea that might happen to involve a person or persons who are not Caucasian.

No more.

Charges like “racist” and “racism” made without objective, quantitative support, and only the subjective justification of emotion will be ignored.  The race card is maxed out, and the bank is no longer willing to extend the credit line.  As for attacking our faith, or our practice thereof, we will no longer be held to account by people who do not understand the faith they would use as a weapon against believers, when the wielder subscribes to no belief system at all.   Those who rely only on themselves for the regulation of their conduct and ethics no longer get to condemn those who answer to a higher authority.  Not any more.  We reclaim control of the shame that you have opted out of, and we will no longer allow you to use it to make us answer to you.

7.  We reclaim independence from the notion that the Federal Government is the solution to every problem and the answer to every question.

For too long, we stood by and allowed debate and action on all matters, predicated upon on a destructive and dangerous idea:  That the Federal Government is the only way to meet a need, fix a problem, or prevent a problem.   In time it became a security blanket, and we became a nation of thumbsuckers, eager to give the federal Government more power and more money, if only it would keep us safe from life and the living of it as free people, until we no longer looked to it for protection from others who would have our liberties or destroy them; we looked to it for protection from the consequences of our own actions.

No more.

We were so fixated in seeking the federal government’s assistance with every aspect of our daily lives, no one within or without the Federal Government ever exercised restraint and said “No.  The Consitution does not give the Federal Government the authority to do that.”   And now that people are alert to the fact that the Federal Government is poised on the cusp of the largest power grab it has ever made with the healh care bill, some of us are finally saying  “No.  You do not have the authority.”    The stakes have never been more obvious.  Met with the anger of constituents who are actually paying attention, elected officials are employing various means to intimidate these citizens who are expressing their disgust and anger that a government that serves them would ever feel so entitled to our money and our data in the passage of something so clearly opposed by those who wold have to live under it, these servants have resorted to insulting their constituents, calling them shills in the pay of their political opponents, calling them stupid and saying that they simply did not understand the printed words on the pages of the bill, brazenly lying to them outright about what they have proposed and are considering, and filling audiences at public meetings with rent-a-mobs from the SEIU, ACORN, and others,  so that they will face a friendly audience that is also hostile to the voters opposed to this latest demonstration of government of its leash.   The days of promising good governance but delivering graft, corruption, and self serving sinecures are over.   We do not care about your party; both have proven themselves reckless and dishonest.   We demand that you act responsibly, that you do the people’s business, not your own, and we demand that you act within the confines of the Constitution.  No more will we simply accept legislation that exceeds the authority strictly enumerated in the Constitution.   No more will we accept interpretations of the Commerce Clause and the Necessary and Proper Clause that are so tortured and stretched beyond reason or recognition as to be unrecognizable to anyone who has read the Constitution.   No longer will we accept legislation from the bench that relies not on interpretation of the Constitution, but mystical divination of mysterious penumbras that only a few ‘right-minded’  jurists can see.  Those days are over, and you can return usurped powers to the states and the individual citizens in whom the Constitution rightfully places them, or you can have them stripped from you.

We, those who have come together in virtual congress to reclaim our independence from those who have by various means obtained it from us, realize that this probably wasn’t the HOPE! and CHANGE! that those persons had in mind, but nevertheless, the time has come.

Two DeKalb County police officers have been placed on paid administrative leave after an investigation revealed they ran a background check on President Barack Obama.

A representative for the DeKalb County CEO’s office identified the officers as Ryan Wright and C.M. Route.

Officials said Obama’s name was typed into a computer inside a DeKalb County police car on July 20 and ran through the National Crime Information Center.

The secret service was immediately notified and contacted the DeKalb County Police Department.

A representative said both officers have been with the department less than five years.

A representative said one of the officers denied involvement.

An official investigation is being conducted by the DeKalb County Police Department’s Internal Affairs division.

It is unclear why the officers ran a check on the president.

I grew up watching Walter Cronkite on TV. One of my earliest childhood memories is of my mother crying after Cronkite announced to the country that President Kennedy was dead. He was always there for us, as the seemingly trusted friend.  Delivering the evening news and holding the nation’s hand during times of grief and trouble.

It wasn’t until later in my life that I learned how truly anti-American he was. As I learned more about his anti-American sentiments and his sell out of our troops in Vietnam, I came to dispise the man.

It’s not a surprise to me that todays liberal media has only reported on what a great American he was. I’ve read many comments online over the last couple of days about Cronkite’s life. Almost all the comments portray him in a very positive light. I think many of the commentors are either to young to have known him or maybe just never knew the true story of Walter Cronkite.

I don’t dispute the fact that the man was the pioneer of early television news reporting. I do dispute the fact that he was a great American. WASHINGTON – Walter Cronkite is dead at 92 – but most Americans, many of whom considered him “the most trusted man” in the country during his reign as CBS News anchor – still don’t know what motivated him and how he secured such an influential and lofty position.

He was like a grandfatherly institution in the early days of TV. People believed him. Uncle Walter wouldn’t lie, America believed.

Thus, when he gave his opinions, they had impact. One example was his report on the Tet offensive in Vietnam, which is credited with swinging the tide of opinion against the war.

Even in his death, however, nobody has addressed how and why an otherwise obscure figure at the time was elevated to become the most prominent anchorman on television.

The Original Anti-American Anchorman

The story was told publicly in the July 10, 2000, edition of the Nation, a Marxist-oriented journal, in a report on death of Blair Clark, who served as editor of the Nation from 1976 through 1978: “Whether it was calling on Philip Roth to recommend a Nation literary editor or persuading CBS News president Richard Salant to make Walter Cronkite anchor of CBS Evening News, Blair had a gift for the recognition and recruitment of excellence.”

Clark was not only the editor of the Nation, he was also heir to the Clark thread fortune, a Harvard classmate and friend of John F. Kennedy, a buddy of Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee and the manager of Eugene McCarthy’s 1968 campaign for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

He veered back and forth between politics and journalism seamlessly as an associate publisher of the New York Post, a reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, vice president and general manager of CBS News and yet remained a fixture in Democratic Party politics throughout his career.

Clark wasn’t the kind of man who would promote Walter Cronkite for the most visible job in journalism because of his press accomplishments alone – and his press accomplishments were noticeably meager.

Cronkite never graduated from college. He had entered the University of Texas at Austin, but left to take a part-time job reporting for the Houston Post. In 1939, he got a job at United Press and covered World War II.

While working for UP, Cronkite was offered a job at CBS by Edward R. Murrow – and turned it down. He finally accepted a second offer in 1950, and stepped into the new medium of television.

He became the host of “You Are There” in which key moments of history were recreated by actors. Cronkite was depicted on camera interviewing “Joan of Arc” or “Sigmund Freud.” But somehow, he managed to make it believable. From that entertainment series, he went on to be named host of “The Morning Show” on CBS, where he was paired with a partner: a puppet named Charlemagne. In 1961, CBS named him the anchor of the “CBS Evening News” – a 15-minute news summary anchored for several years by Douglas Edwards, thanks to prodding from a socialist activist who edited The Nation.

Just a few years later, his commentaries on the Vietnam War were credited with turning the tide of American opinion against that conflict.

“But Walter was always more than just an anchor,” said Barack Obama upon his death. “He was someone we could trust to guide us through the most important issues of the day; a voice of certainty in an uncertain world. He was family. He invited us to believe in him, and he never let us down. This country has lost an icon and a dear friend, and he will be truly missed.”

After leaving his position with CBS, Cronkite’s political activism and offbeat ideas had no restraints.

In 1989, Cronkite spoke to a dinner organized by People for the American Way, a group founded by Norman Lear. His candid politics surprised even that audience.

* “I know liberalism isn’t dead in this country,” he said. “It simply has, temporarily we hope, lost its voice.”

* “About the Democratic loss in this election … it was not just a campaign strategy built on a defensive philosophy. It was not just an opposition that conducted one of the most sophisticated and cynical campaigns ever. … It was the fault of too many who found their voices stilled by subtle ideological intimidation.”

* “We know that unilateral action in Grenada and Tripoli was wrong. We know that Star Wars means uncontrollable escalation of the arms race. We know that the real threat to democracy is half a nation in poverty. … We know that religious beliefs cannot define patriotism. … God Almighty, we’ve got to shout these truths in which we believe from the housetops. Like that scene in the movie ‘Network,’ we’ve got to throw open our windows and shout these truths to the streets and the heavens. And I bet we’ll find more windows are thrown open to join the chorus than we’d ever dreamed possible.”

In 1999, he appeared at the United Nations to accept the Norman Cousins Global Governance Award from the World Federalists Association. He told those assembled, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, that the first step toward achieving a one-world government – his personal dream – is to strengthen the United Nations.

“It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace,” he said. “To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order.”

In his acceptance speech, Cronkite added, “Pat Robertson has written in a book a few years ago that we should have a world government, but only when the Messiah arrives. He wrote, literally, any attempt to achieve world order before that time must be the work of the devil. Well, join me. I’m glad to sit here at the right hand of Satan.”

Later, in an interview with the BBC, Cronkite described this new order as something that sounded like a militaristic world dictatorship.

“I wouldn’t give up on the U.N. yet,” he said. “I think we are realizing that we are going to have to have an international rule of law. We need not only an executive to make international law, but we need the military forces to enforce that law and the judicial system to bring the criminals to justice before they have the opportunity to build military forces that use these horrid weapons that rogue nations and movements can get hold of – germs and atomic weapons.”

He spoke openly about the need for America to give up its national sovereignty.

“American people are going to begin to realize they are going to have to yield some sovereignty to an international body to enforce world law, and I think that’s going to come to other people as well,” he said. “It’s a fair distance to get there, but we are not ever going to get there unless we keep trying to push ourselves onto the road.”

The Judge assured Dr. Orly that the case would be given top priority and would be quote, “resolved quicker in this court than in any other court.”

I just got off the phone with Attorney Charles Lincoln who has been working with Dr. Orly and was at the hearing today.

The judge denied default BUT he ordered that the case proceed without any objections, and that the case would be decided on its merits.

Obama has 60 days to answer. The Judge assured Orly that the case would be given top priority and would be quote, “resolved quicker in this court than in any other court.” Charles said he feels the best about this Judge than any other Judge in his entire career as a lawyer. Sarah Brooks

At the hearing today at the Federal Court building in Santa Ana, Judge Carter said the following:

1. There will be a trial.

2. It will be heard on the merits.

3. Nothing will be dismissed on procedural issues.

4. The trial will be expeditious, and the judge pledged to give case priority.

5. Being a former Marine he realizes the importance of having a Constitutionally qualified POTUS/CINC.

6. Judge stated that if Obama isn’t Constitutionally qualified he needs to leave the White House. The DOJ will be involved with the case also….

I wasn’t clear if they would be trying to get to the truth or they would just be blindly representing Obama. Orly will be adding members of the military from California as plaintiffs. [Whoooohoooo! The time is drawing nigh! It has been a long slog!

Perhaps the slog will be shortened, now that we have a Marine Judge in charge of our destiny! Semper Fidelis]

In what ultimately could prove to be a turning point in the legal challenges to Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president, a federal judge in California has planned a hearing on the merits of a federal court case raising those questions.

According to attorney Orly Taitz, who is working on multiple cases alleging Obama is a “usurper” because he doesn’t meet the constitutional requirement that only a “natural born citizen” can be president, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ruled in a hearing today that her case will move forward.

The hearing was on her motion for a default order against Obama, because although Taitz said she notified him of the action, Obama’s attorneys did not make an appearance.

Her complaint was filed against the president on Jan. 20, the day of his inauguration, over his actions before he became president.
