I do not like Lady Gaga’s music.

I’m sorry to say it, but I am not a fan of these Pop Singer/Song Writers, or as I like to call them “glorified strippers”. After having tuned into numerous popular radio stations, such as Z100 or the disappointing now 92.3 (formerly KROCK), I was coerced into listening to the same five “popular” songs of the week, month, etc. by these so called musicians.

The Lady herself.

With every one of these songs that come out, I still ask the same question every time. Wh….

So after a big break the bad guys are back. For this week we bring in some enjoyable villains many from comedies. Some play with the lines of reality, some are satirical caricatures, and some are just hilarious in their own way. Either way, a good villain can make you cringe as well as make you laugh or even rethink your personal political views. Here are some slightly over-the-top performances that are nothing short of entertaining.

80. Aaron Stampler (Primal Fear) played by Edward Norton

“Looks to me like They’re gonna shoot ol’ Aaron so full o’ poison it’s gonna come out of his eyes!”

79. Col. William Tavington (The Patriot) played by Jason Isaacs

“You know, it’s an ugly business doing one’s duty… but just occasionally it’s a real pleasure.”

78. Orin Scrivello (Little Shop of Horrors) played by Steve Martin

” Let me ask you something. Does this scare you? Would you like it if I took this and headed right for your damn incisors!”

77. Xenia Zirgavna Onatopp (GoldenEye) played by Famke Janssen

“It’s clean. I had to ventilate someone.”

76. Ernie McCracken (Kingpin) played by Bill Murray

“Believe me, as a bowler, I know that right about now, your bladder feels like an overstuffed vacuum cleaner bag and your butt is kinda like an about-to-explode bratwurst… Was I talking out loud? Sorry.

75. Mickey Knox (Natural Born Killers) played by Woddy Harrelson

“At birth, I was cast into a flaming pit of scum forgotten by God.”

74. Simon Skinner (Hot Fuzz) played by Timothy Dalton

“Lock me up. I’m a slasher! I must be stopped! A slasher… of prices!

73. Vincenzo Coccotti (True Romance) played by Christopher Walken

“I’m the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood. You tell the angels in heaven you never seen evil so singularly personified as you did in the face of the man who killed you.”

72. Leonard Smalls (Raising Arizona) played by Randall “Tex” Cobb

Communion is a 1989 drama/thriller film based on the book by Whitley Strieber with the same name, starring Christopher Walken and Frances Sternhagen. It tells a story of a family that experiences the extraterrestrial phenomenon while on vacation at a remote vacation home in the wilderness. According to Strieber, the story is a real-life account of his own encounter with “visitors”, with Walken playing the role of the author.

Trivia:

Cameo: [Whitley Strieber and son] in the museum sequence near the end.

While serving as executive producer, author Whitley Strieber, whose experiences serve as the basis of the film, expressed concerns about Christopher Walken’s abilities in portraying him. When Strieber finally told Walken that he might be portraying him as a little too crazy, Walken replied, “If the shoe fits.”

Whitley has a picture of “The Great Wave of Kanagawa” by Hokusai on his wall, with an added cartoon character, facing the tsunami with an exclamation mark above his head, drawn in for comic effect.

Anne Strieber is referring to Joseph Campbell’s four-volume compendium of World Mythology with her “Masks of God” observation.

Whitley Strieber’s Alien Contact books are usually cataloged as “Psychical Research” or “Paranormal”. However, the cassette audio-book of Communion, read by ‘Roddy McDowell’ and produced by a Hertfordshire company called “Redback”, simply has the word “FICTION” on the back of the inlay. This could have been a compromise to preserve the credibility of a start-up company and increase publicity for Strieber at the same time.

I readily admit a longtime affinity for all things Christopher Walken. And with guilt, I’ll add Lady Gaga as probably one of the most extraordinary artists to emerge from the pop cesspool. Put them together? I have an orgasm.

Of course, we can measure the historic significance of this act… It’s been done before. But who cares?!

Just consider the possibilities:

If the whole acting thing doesn’t work out, Walken already has an entire sideline in reading things. How great would “Christopher Walken Presents: The Bible” be, for example?

Or even better:

I would buy a whole CD of just him reading Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus and Gaga, and I think such an endeavor would go platinum in no time. Think about it Chris, think about it.

Right on. But would Walken be game for something like this? He’s always up for making fun of himself… Gosh Mr. Walken, make this little boy from Astoria’s life meaningful.

Oh, and if you think Cartman has Walken beat, you’re sadly mistaken. Judge for yourself.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed. Now get cookin’!

Please check out the imdb here. Anyway Chris Walken decides to make fun of Lady Gaga’s poker face just by reading the lyrics. Amazing man truly, truly, inspirational. Enjoy the vid.

so i love christopher walken. i think he is an awesome actor and a hilarious person, and i seem to l

so i love christopher walken. i think he is an awesome actor and a hilarious person, and i seem to like every second of his performances every time. hyperbolic? yes. is walken worth it? yes. i don’t know what exactly it is – maybe it’s that even though he’s an actor he appears to be able to be nothing but himself. or maybe that’s what makes him a great actor. but the ego that is walken fasinates me. and then i heard that he was reading lady gaga on the bbc!!
i just watched the christopher walken/ lady gaga video. it was everything you would hope for and more. in celebration and in an effort to do something other than watch the rest of season 3 of “lost” on hulu, i’ve compiled a small gathering of fantastic walken videos, in no particular order despite that they are numbered.

1. walken poker face. OOH. i just wish he’d gotten farther in the song. walken saying “bluffin’ with my muffin” might have been the greatest six syllables to never exist.

2. snl – walken as a census taker. deliberate, dedicated absurdity. i think it’s my favorite snl bit of his (sorry cowbell, i still love you). “do you own or rent this apartment?” “sure.”

~~~walken fun fact: christopher walken did not run for president in 2008!~~~
3. weapon of choice. i could watch walken dancing to a man plucking a rubber band and snorting rhythmically. happily the song is also rad. he actually helped choreograph this because he is that awesome.
4. puss in boots. oh my god every time i thought he was gonna say “these boots were made for walken.” it doesn’t happen, but this is tragically ridiculous anyway and he still makes it compelling.
~~~walken fun fact: eight separate actors impersonate christopher walken in the play “all About walken”!~~~

5. conan interview. this is long but it’s worth it because 1) it’s 10 minutes of walken and 2) he talks extensively about how he wants a tail and what he would do with it and it makes him soooo happy, which, in turn, makes me happy. i especially love how he owns the interview the whole time, like says nothing for 45 seconds and then cracks conan up. the psychiatrist story at 3:00 is a thing of beauty.

6. henry rollins interview. walken’s best moment is 0:37, “i’m not sure i am an actor.” (side note: anybody else feel like henry rollins is mostly a tool? someone being worth their weight in salt would mean they were worth probably around $200-$300. ner.)

~~~walken fun fact: christopher walken prefers not to discuss his family life in public!~~~
7. pennies from heaven. how could anything possibly better than the fatboy slim video? how about he also strips! and he’s young and rocking the slightly gender ambiguous eyeliner look, double plus.
8.  three little pigs. this is probably the most amazing video i came across tonight. more children’s lit. also his sweater is hot. (untrue)
Summer holidays are almost over, the hay has been on the ground for 3 weeks and the barley is waitin
Summer holidays are almost over, the hay has been on the ground for 3 weeks and the barley is waiting patiently to be harvested. Another disaster year for farming. Although the rainfall volume has been lower than last year (judging by ground conditions) the frequency of low pressure bands of rain  pushing across the Country is woeful. Just as it drys up and you get ready to start turning hay or cutting corn another cloud will creep up on you and mockingly dampen your spirits.
Didn’t those Eco-maniacs say global warming would mean warmer Summers and Colder Winters? I think whether we cut emissions or not, the climate will change naturally as it has for millions of years. I smell a money making scam.
My work experience in Bluebird Studios went extremely well. I learned a shocking amount about recording, mixing and mastering music. This Studio is one of the top studios in Ireland. Just check out the site and you’ll know what I mean when you see the equipment and comfortable surrounds. I should be one step ahead of the posse in college when it comes to analog gear.
Music today is from Wilco. I had 2 of their albums stored away on my computer for a few years and never really made the effort to listen to them. Their latest self titled album is very accessible and made me sit up and listen. My friend Shane has been a huge fan of them for years and managed to win free tickets to see them in Vicar street (27th and 28th of August). Two tickets for each night. Unfortunately he couldn’t go so myself and Niall went on the Thursday.
I don’t usually say OMG but OMG!! 6 old guys rocking out. Each of them were fantastic musicians in their own right, their timing and stage presence were second to none. There was even a guitar off during the second encore!
It was great to see a hard working, under rated band playing brilliant songs with such ease.
I am currently listening to a few of their older albums and really appreciating the work put into them. They have been on the go since 1994 with a few line-up changes yet not many people have heard of them. Check them out!
Wir wissen es ja alle: ohne Sport geht nix im Leben, schon gar nicht Abnehmen…. Aber trotzdem:
Wir wissen es ja alle: ohne Sport geht nix im Leben, schon gar nicht Abnehmen….
Aber trotzdem: Lust dazu hat man gerade am Anfang überhaupt nicht. Man muss seinen bequemen Tagesablauf unterbrechen, durch sowas wie “Sport”. Man schwitzt und schnauft, vor allem, wenn man, wie ich, völlig untrainiert ist und ein zwei Monate altes Baby mehr Kondition hat als man selbst. Und wenn es nur so etwas wie Walken und mit dem Hund spazieren gehen wäre (selbstverständlich jeden Tag und mind. eine halbe Stunde), dann würde es ja noch gehen. Aber als Frau hat man leider noch andere Probleme, die mit dem Übergewicht einhergehen, außer das Übergewicht an sich: Bei vielen Frauen hat das Bindegewebe an Oberschenkeln, Bauch, Armen und Brust nämlich eine schreckliche und gemeine Angewonheit: es dehnt sich mit jeden neuen, dazugewonnenen Kilo mit, wird wabbelig und man hat schöne kleine Reißnarben, wenn es sich dann irgendwann nicht mehr dehnen will/kann.
Wenn man, bzw. Frau, nun abnimmt, dann wäre es ja eigentlich schön und einfach, wenn sich das Bindegewebe auch einfach wieder in seinen Urzustand begeben würde, aber denkste! Es bleibt wabbelig und rissig, da hilft auch Walken nicht viel. Wenn Frau nun, so wie ich, auch noch eine erblich bedingte Bindegewebsschäche hat (meinen lieben weiblichen Urverwandten möchte ich hier danken   ), dann belibt Frau nix anderes über als Krafttraining zu machen. Muskelübungen, die spezielle Muskelpartien trainieren und beanspruchen. Beliebt sind Übungen für den Po, den Bauch, die Oberarme (ja, auch da hat man das liebe, nette Bindegewebe), Oberschenkeln und so weiter. Die Muskelübungen können helfen, das Bindegewebe zurückzubilden und ein wenig zu festigen.
Bei der Brust allerdings hilft auch zum Teil das nicht mehr: Kurz gesagt: Was hin ist, ist hin. Diese tatsache finde ich sehr demotivierend und glaube, ich spreche vielen aus der Seele, wenn ich sage: Man könnte sich regelmäßig selbst dafür schlagen, was man sich und seinem Körper angetan hat, da einiges einfach nicht zu reparieren geht und man folglicherweise nie wieder so aussehen wird als hätte man nie zugenommen.
Mit dieser Tatsache müssen sich auch immer mehr Krankenkassen auseinandersetzen. Immer mehr Frauen, die viel abgenommen haben, haben dasselbe Problem: Hautlappen am Bauch (ja, schon wieder das liebe Bindegewebe) oder Brüste, die sich im unteren Drittel des Körpers aufhalten und nicht mehr im oberen. Je jünger die betreffenden Frauen ist, desto bedrückender kann ein solches Aussehen sein, vor allem, wenn man Anfang 20 ist und leider noch keine Schwangerschaft als Ausrede für seine eigene persönliche Schwäche benutzen kann. Diese Frauen kommen früher oder später mit einem Thema in Berührung: Plastische Chirugie. Heute ist es möglich, die Brust zu straffen (ohne sie aufzupumpen, sie wird einfach wieder in das obere Drittel des Körpers gestrafft) oder die lästigen Hautlappen vom Bauch abzunehmen, die einen immer noch daran erinnern, wie es war, mit 30 Kilo mehr herumzulaufen.
Also, wie gesagt, möglich ist heute (fast) alles, aber zum einen stellt sich die Frage:  Will man, dass an seinem eigenen Körper rumgeschnippelt wird und man hinterher evtl. etwas künstliches in sich hat (Brustimplantate)? (Man bedenke die OP-Risiken oder die Tatsache, das Implantate erneuert werden müsen) und die zweite Frage ist viel wichtiger und bietet viel mehr Diskussionsstoff:      Sollen die Krankenkassen solche Eingriffe bezahlen (schließlich wurde niemand gezwungen, zuzunehmen, aber trotzdem leiden viele Frauen unter diesem deformierten Aussehen, bis hin zu Depressionen)
Für diese Frage sollte eine einheitliche Lösung gefunden werden, da für die Entscheidung pro Operation es nur wichtig ist, in welcher Krankenkasse man versichert ist. Eine einheitliche Lösung wäre wünschenswert. (Bezogen auf notwendige Mindestabnahme, sonstige Kriterien wie Alter etc. sowie die notwendigen Gutachten). Im Moment muss jede betroffene Frau für sich allein kämpfen, was nicht einfach ist. Man kann sich nicht darauf verlassen, dass die Krankenkassen einem die “notwendige” Generalüberholung nach einer starken Abnahme bezahlen. (Was vielleicht ein Anreiz für viele Frauen wäre, abzunehmen, und damit die mit Übergewicht einhergehenden Risiken für die Gesundheit zu vermindern; wovon dir Krankenkassen profitieren würden.
Aber bis dies soweit ist, hilft nur eins: Sport, Sport, Sport!!!
Today I will review the last movie I have legally purchased, This for the discount price of €2,50. But I’m bringing it to you for free! I apologize in advance, I have not been able to find an online streaming video.
Trailer:
YouTube – Man Of The Year Trailer.
Review:
For starters, thumbs up with the casting of Robin Williams. This man is the only actor who was suited for this part, and he did well. Obviously, because he played a character very close to himself. nontheless, great acting.
Also pleased with the casting of Christopher Walken. I think he is an amazing actor. A simple and humble man, who’s acting attracts media, but who’s personal life does not. I don’t like knowing to much about an actor when watching a film. It gets in the way of enjoying the experience. Well, I know nothing but previous work about Christopher Walken, so no problem there. And ask yourself, neither do you.
The idea for the film is great. A comedian as president of the USA. What if a funny man gets in charge of the most poweful nation of the world. What if a humorist gets to be the most powerful man in the world? That is what the film is about. That is also why I bought it. But there is a side-story, which gets in the way of the actual story. This is, that he is not fairly chosen. A computer-glitch has made him president. I personally would have liked it better if the idea of a comedian as president was worked out more as the main story, but the film is good either way.
I rate:
* * * *
Casting: *
Acting: *
Plot:
Humor: *
Originality: *
Director: Michael Cimino Genre: War Summary: Three Russian-Americans travel to Vietnam to fight for
Director: Michael Cimino
Genre: War
Summary: Three Russian-Americans travel to Vietnam to fight for the USA during the war. The movie chronicles their lives before, during and after the war, and how it changes them.
Impressions: I have heard amazing things about this film for years, and the fact that De Niro and Walken are the principal actors just made me even more eager to view it. I came into this viewing with high expectations and was not disappointed.
Let me make it clear, The Deer Hunter is not a nice, relaxing, fun film. It is intense, there is death, psychosis, insanity, intense sadness, rage, and other horrible emotions. I spent most of the second third of the film holding my breath, hands clasped together in silence. I spent the first third wondering why I was watching a wedding take an hour to complete, but it all made sense in the last third.
I didn’t know Michael Cimino was responsible for Heaven’s Gate, the massive film failure that bankrupted the company he was working for. I can see how The Deer Hunter’s acclaim fueled his credentials and got him such leniency on spending. This film is nothing elaborate. The sets are usually fairly intimate except for the wedding and some scenes in Saigon.
The subtext of the film is brilliant, with clever use of foreshadowing during the wedding sequence that hints at the future of each of the three main characters, Michael (De Niro) Nick (Walken) and Stevie (John Savage). To sum up their futures in the words of the Green Berets, “fuck it.”
The title for the film comes from the hunting experiences of De Niro and Walken in the first and third portions of the film. It’s interesting to see how the hunt changes in a post-war reality for the survivors of Vietnam.
Watch the film, think about it, then watch it again so you can catch all of the references in the first part, because I will tell you now that by the end of the second hour you will have forgotten everything you saw in the beginning.
5 out of 5
Heute morgen also der 2. Lauf nach 3 Wochen Pause. War ich vorgestern noch völlig begeistert, war ich heute mindestens ebenso verzweifelt. Meine Beine wurde etwa alle 100m ein halbes Kilo schwerer und ich hatte das Gefühl, auf der Stelle zu laufen. In meiner Begeisterung hatte ich 10km geplant, mit hängen und würgen sind es 6 geworden. Endlose 6 km in noch endloseren 48 Minuten.
Ich fürchte, ich hätte mich im Gehen selbst überholt. Meine Oma, die ca. alle 2 Wochen ihre Stöcke aus dem Schrank holt um Walken zu gehen, hätte mich vermutlich Staub schlucken lassen. Wirklich kein freudiges Erlebnis, ich werde es mal mit Stretching und einer Runde Pilates am Abend probieren, um die elefantengewichitigen Beine verschwinden zu lassen.
Hat jemand den ultimativen Tipp gegen schwere Beine? Muss man mehr als einen Tag pausieren? Besser Dehnen? Das am Anfang aushalten weil es später von selber besser geht?
I have a GPS. My family hates it. It’s not that we don’t get where we’re going (although, sometimes it takes us through some amazingly, out of the way routes). They cannot stand the voice of the woman who tells us when and where to turn. In all honesty, she does seem to have a speech impediment, as everytime I’m told to turn left, she seems to say, “turn bleft.” All I know is, my sense of direction is down there with my sense of stockpicking. And because of this, I appreciate my tourguide.
However… in today’s piece of awesomeness, I found the GPS that will replace my current “blady”.
Oh, don't worry... I'll getcha there.
Is this a great country, or what? Homer Simpson will tell you where to go… literally. Go to the site and hear some samples of Homer’s guidance.
TomTom? or HomerHomer?
This is genius. Not only because I’m a huge Simpson lover, but I have to think this is the tip of the iceberg. Imagine these voices guiding you across the country:
“TURN RIGHT ON WILLOW, FOOOL!”
