As I was saying in my last blog, the so called problems surrounding wallpapers are all myths. A lot of people think that wallpapers peel off easily and are not long lasting. Well, that’s a pure myth. Wallpapers stays on the walls as long as 7 to 8 years.

There may be only a couple of instances when your wallpaper might peel off. The first time your wallpaper might peel from certain places is within the first week of installation. That happens because different walls have different absorption power. The adhesive used to paste the wallpaper is absorbed by the wall, rendering the wallpaper base dry thus it leaves the wall. There is no need to panic. Even you can put the adhesive and re-paste it. The second time wallpaper might tend to peel is during the first winter after installation. If you have noticed, during winters, doors tend to expand and jam up. The walls too expand during winters, thus making the wallpaper peel. All you need to do is re-paste the peeled off portions.

Apart from these two times wallpapers do not peel off on any occasion. Marshalls has introduced a Permanent Joint Sealer, which is used inside the wallpaper joints. This ensures that the edge of each sheet of wallpaper stays glued to the wall. Good life of wallpapers on a dry wall surface is as long as 7 to 8 years.

Hello everyone! I am Maya, and I will be writing on this blog addressing different issues regarding wallpapers and home decoration.

Yesterday, while visiting a friend’s house, a very serious thought hit me. Setting up a house and turning it into a home is not an easy task, and I’m sure you would agree with me, it’s becoming a serious status problem. When I bought my house, it was nothing more than a 3BHK apartment with bare walls and expensive furniture kept around the rooms. But today when you see it, it’s nothing less than a complete home. Every room is a piece of art, a beauty to every beholder’s eyes, adorned with beautiful wallpapers complementing the furnishing and décor.

What… did I hear you say “wallpapers?!” I have heard this from so many people! They keep telling me wallpapers are messy, old fashioned, blah, blah; blah… it’s all a myth! Don’t believe me? Ok, you tell me what you think, and I’ll tell you how true it is.

New walls and stuff

So, our long-awaited and debated conservatory is finally underway. Tuesday was a lot of digging, …

… yesterday was a lot of concrete …

… and today we finally get some walls!

(Unfortunately we also have a lot of drilling into the house and sawing, which isn’t doing much for nap times, but hey – we can see the end of the road…)

We’ll also get some steps and a path down to the shed at the end, but that’ll be a bit later. Right now – just glad it’s started!!

I don’t have the money, the stamina, the beauty, the charm, the wit, the figure, the laugh I need to keep up with you, to keep in with you. And you don’t have anything I want to buy.

Break down those walls

Acts 16:3 – Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

This took place in the period of the New Covenant, where Paul and Peter preached salvation based on our Faith in His grace and not by our works. So, technically speaking, circumcision was no longer needed. The Gentiles who accepted Christ were baptized by the Spirit and water and no longer needed to be circumcised to be pronounced clean.

Why then, did Paul circumcise Timothy? Weird isn’t it?

Wrong. The Jews still did not believe that Jesus had risen. They were still and are pretty much still stuck in the Old Covenant. They had not yet embraced the New Covenant. Paul wanted to take Timothy to minister to the Jews. You see, to the Jews, only those who were circumcised were considered clean and righteous. Only the Israelites were the circumcised bunch, as they are the chosen people.

So, for Timothy to be able to reach out to the Jews, he had to break the wall between himself and them. As He was of Greek origin, obviously he did not have to be circumcised. and the Jews knew that. So in order for Timothy to reach into the hearts of the Jews, first he had to lay down his rights to not even go through the circumcision since he was saved not by his works anyway.

So, Timothy went through that painful process of… you know what… and yes, in that way, he broke down the wall which stood between him and the Jews. In the same way, if you know that by doing some things, you would create a wall between you and another person, preventing him/her from receiving the gospel, don’t do it. It can be clubbing, partying, getting your ears pierced (for guys), drinking, etc. You will know it yourself. The Holy Spirit will prompt you to do what’s right. When the walls are removed, then, it’ll be easy for us to reach the unsaved.

We have had quite a few requests to provide décor ideas to hide unsightly air conditioning units in gardens. Badec Bros Deco specializes in feature walls, such as gabion feature walls.
