Heading down to Orlando, Florida to enjoy some holiday cheer at the Walt Disney World resort with family and friends. Will be posting when I can over the next week as I enjoy sights like the Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle. Aren’t they beautiful?

Last year I linked to a post I did for my Disney blog on how to photograph Christmas lights. This year I blogged about how I did last year at Walt Disney World using those tips. Thought you would find it a good refresher for the upcoming holiday light displays in your area: Photographing Christmas Lights at Disney II. If you like, please, post links to your holiday light photography in the comments below.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What shall I be thankful for? Too many things to count, thank G*d, but let’s keep it with the theme here.

While visiting the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Center in the 1980’s, we didn’t really think about how we were going to fuel up for and during the day. We were a “commando-style” family to the max. Stopping for lunch was a no-no, and taking a break during the day to swim or nap was heresy. As a family who kept to a kosher diet (albeit with some leniencies that I’ve dropped over the years), the Disney dining experience just wasn’t happening for us. So, our food-for-fuel consisted of a big breakfast at the hotel (likely cereal & bagels), a snack during midday (Mickey bar, popcorn, etc.), and something for dinner. We’d pick up some nosh at a counter service spot that was deemed kosher enough for us, and made do (or we had more popcorn, ice cream, etc.). Again, food was for fuel purposes only in the Magic Kingdom – not for the nutritional value, and surely not for the culinary experience. It worked well for us and we liked it. We never felt we were missing out at all.

Decades go by, and I find myself in Anaheim for a conference, and my wife and 1 ½ year old daughter come along for a Disneyland experience. Because she is so young, she doesn’t “get it” as much as we’d hoped. So, we think out of the box: why not a character meal? It’s expensive considering we would be able to eat much at all, but two things convince us to give it a go:

•	Breakfast is the easiest way to go for the kosher traveler
•	My daughter is the biggest fan of Minnie I could imagine

So, off to the PCH Grill at the Paradise Pier hotel. Total success! The smile on her face was incredible. It was an experience that was totally new for me, let alone her. I was convinced of the character meal dining experience.

So, what is new at Disney World when I go back in 2005 after a long hiatus? Kosher meals! Happy day! We did kosher meals for character dining at Crystal Palace in 2005 and Tusker House in 2008. What a great experience, and we even had hot kosher food. We also enjoyed the “luxury” of counter service kosher meals to get us through the day. While I didn’t miss this at all as a kid, as a parent I am grateful.

Is the kosher dining at WDW and Disneyland anything close to the dining experience the average Joe has? Absolutely not. As anyone who keeps kosher in any capacity knows and understands, that would be a luxury that is rare on any kind of vacation. But to have that option available makes the experience that much more enjoyable. The food isn’t Victoria & Albert’s, but it beats popcorn for lunch and ice cream for dinner. And the character meals are now a “must-do” for us on any trip to a Disney park.

So, I am thankful for kosher dining at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

(If there were to be a kosher resturaunt with freshly cooked kosher food on property, then expressing my gratitude wouldn’t be possible with words alone.)

Author: Anonymous Source: free-articles Staring cancer straight in the face, Joe Scott did not lose

Author: Anonymous
Source: free-articles

Staring cancer straight in the face, Joe Scott did not lose faith. With his belief in God, support of his family and friends and his own inner-will,, disney acting auditions, Scott took on the battle of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a blood cancer that results in a swelling of the lymph nodes, and ultimately won.

โ€œA year of my life was filled with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, hospital visits, medical tests, fatigue, doctor visits, vomiting and other digestive track problems, lost hair, and a lot of pain,โ€ said Scott, describing his year-long battle.

โ€œCancer treatments, disney acting auditions, in 1991 were an endurance contest between the patient and the cancer, ending with the, disney acting auditions, death of the loser.โ€

Taking advantage of his extended time, Scott began involving himself in local 5K races to raise money for cancer research. After feeling the need to do something bigger, he took on another endurance challenge, Team in Training, a fundraising arm of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society that trains beginner to seasoned athletes for endurance events such as, disney acting auditions, marathons (26.

2 miles), half-marathons (13.1 miles),, disney acting auditions, triathlons, and century bike rides (100 miles). In August of 2002, Scott began to train for the Walt Disney World Marathon the following January, even as doubts were lingering in his mind.

โ€œThe training started out easy and got tougher. But the folks at Team in Training were great coaches. They really prepared, disney acting auditions, me for the challenge. The weekly group training kept me dedicated and focused on marathon training.

โ€

Team in Training โ€” Page Two

Scott’s goal was not merely to train for the marathon but to fundraise and give back to the Society throughout his commitment. Scott used his personal struggle as an opportunity to share with friends and family and give them the chance to fight these deadly cancers. He wrote letters that went in to detail about his fight with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and his victory against the disease. Through his efforts, Scott raised a total of $3439.40 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission to find a cure for blood related cancers.

Once Scott completed his goal and conquered the grueling 26.2-mile course in Mickey’s backyard, he chose to continue his mission. A short three weeks later he added the inaugural year of the Miami Marathon to his repertoire and took home a medal from the 13.1-mile half-marathon.

Today, Scott’s spirits and outlook are high as he is in full remission and ready to take on the challenge, once again, to complete two endurance events in less than a month. He is not only training for the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 11, 2004 and the Miami Marathon on February 1, 2004 he is also a Team Captain for the South Miami training site of Team in Training.

His advice for those contemplating running a marathon? โ€œIf a cancer survivor can do a marathon, imagine what you can do!โ€

Since Team in Training began in 1988, more than 190,000 participants have raised over $430 million through TNT to help the Society advance its mission: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. For additional TNT information, call the Southern Florida Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at (954) 961-3234 / (305) 937-7444; or visit us at www.

We made it back safely from our trip and while we were gone, boys went to play football up north. Not a successful game but there is always next year.

We had a great time while the boys’ grandma Dorothy moved in with them. They complained loudly about not wanting her to fix spaghetti too many times so I thought I had better make things easy on Dorothy and fill the freezer with “pre-fabricated” foods. We don’t usually eat that stuff but it made things simpler and the boys much more appreciative of what I do for them every night.

Alright, where we were, the chefs didn’t cook frozen dinners, they made special things for us and we loved every single bite they served up. We had dinner among other places at Wolfgang Puck’s Cafe’ where we sat at the sushi bar.

The Flying Fish Cafe’, we sat right here

at the show kitchen bar

Raglan Road, Fulton’s Crab House

Here we were sitting at the bar at Fulton’s.

and many other places.

Here are some more pictures of what we saw and where we had fun.

We went on safari at the Animal Kingdome park and saw the king of the animal world sitting on top of his hill. I hope you can see him up there on the right of the tree.

The trunk of this tree holds a huge theater and has been carved or sculpted with over 300 images of animals.

72 year old Jean who gave us a tour of a restaurant

And there is Mike on the back porch of the Hall of Presidents

.

And while we had lunch in France with a very famous rodent, we actually saw the Space Shuttle take off for another adventure

We were thoroughly entertained the whole 9 days

No time today for worry. The positive aspect of vacation anticipation is starting to get intense. My children have been fully exposed to the magic of Walt Disney World numerous times over the years and are as eager to be there as I am.

I still need to make a trip to the grocery store. I still need to drive to C-U to pick up my son. I still need to finish packing. Clothes are out but not in the bags. I haven’t grabbed any toiletries, jewelery, toys, shoes, hair ties…what else am I missing? It doesn’t help that I stayed up way too late last night. I was playing Bejeweled and watching the most recent episode of The Office and still awake at almost 2:00 A.M. Today my head is fuzzy and aching. Not fair that I get a hang-over just from staying up too late.

Woke up thie morning at 7:00 A.M. I putzed around facebook then realized I still needed to frost cupcakes for Hannah’s party. Cupcakes looked great and were delivered with the party girl unscathed and on time. I have a roast in the crockpot for Italian beef that I’ll take to Dad’s tomorrow. Still need to throw together a caramel apple pie, green bean casserole and red beans & rice dish.

I’m never going to get all this done am I? Doesn’t matter…I’m leaving regardless.

It’s been quiet around these parts lately, and for good reason: My family and I spent last week in Walt Disney World, and since I’ve been back I’ve been playing catch-up. Whaddya know, though, while in Disney I observed something that has some relevance here.

Turns out that Disney has a very well-respected college exchange/internship program. Everyone who works at the parks wears a name tag that includes his or her hometown; the college kids have their institutions listed. Like their older counterparts, these younger employees were unfailingly cheery, gracious, and helpful–terrific representatives of their schools.

And that got me to thinking. University communications professionals aren’t internship directors, of course, but the more we can direct our students toward organizations with extraordinarily high standards and reputations, the more we can enhance our institutions’ reputations. How’s that for magic? | TCF

It’s a Small World.

Day 2.

The sun is up and it’s a new day at WDW. I decide what my agenda will be for the day. I called for an 8:30 am wake up call and I am up early with decisions to make. On my past visits with my partner or friends, I would have been in the gym at the Dolphin Resort first thing in the morning, had breakfast at Fresh Mediterrean then headed out for the parks. Since it’s just me, I decide to skip the gym and breakfast and get over to Animal Kingdom for opening hour. Bad move? Maybe. When I arrive at Animal Kingdom, there are not many people there.

The kiosk upon entering where I should have had a pastry, no line!

I am excited to be back in the Animal Kingdom. Immediately I head for my favorite area of the park, Asia. Unfortunately my sense of direction is not keen enough to find Asia without a map. I circle the Tree of Life (is that a personal metaphor?) and I wander pathways for what seems like too long before I finally see the walkway leading into Asia. My favorite area of Animal Kingdom is almost empty. Yak and Yeti is not yet open, the outdoor seating area is empty, the bus that serves refreshments has no line, Kali River Rapids is a walk on, Mount Everest..ALL with little to no people! How great. My camera is in hand and I am ready to take some pictures of these semi-deserted areas.

A rare sight, Yak and Yeti peaceful.

Last chance for a snack before Expedition Everest

But I can not wait any longer. I have to ride Expedition Everest. There is a small line but it moves quickly through the queue. A great part of the experience of the attraction is the story provided in the amount of detail and objects of the queue. There is evidence of travelers who have never returned. Or will they? There are artifacts of the beast that resides inside of the mountain. Valuables collected on previous treks, canned food and climbing gear, there are many objects which build the story and set the stage for what lies ahead.

The comforts of a missing person.

In my excitement to ride Mount Everest, I remember as I approach the ride that I did not yet eat breakfast! Was this a good idea? It’s early morning. I’m about to go on a thrill ride on a empty stomach. There is no turning back now. Well there is. I got a fast pass for later before I got on line, but I’ve come this far. Go for it!

Anticipation for the trek

No turning back!

I am seated next to a boy of who is probably 13 years old. I am feeling hungry and a little nervous about the ride. Maybe it’s starting to show. As we approach the ascent the boy asks me if I’m afraid. I put on a brave face and say, “No, are you?” Nervously he says, “No” then he blurts out, “I puked on Big Thunder Mountain.” Good to know! I laugh to myself. His mother turns around and shushes him. The train then makes it’s way to the summit and stops. Then it starts slowly…to…plunge backwards….aaah…darkness…dizziness…the Yeti. Quickly we are back in the station.

It's all a blur.

I am feeling dizzy! I can’t believe it. Don’t pass out. No. Immediately after the ride everyone is unloaded into the gift shop before exiting. I am so disoriented that I start snapping some pictures to distract myself.

The first picture I took after departing the ride accurately depicts the haze I was seeing.

As the blood returns to my head, I smile and quickly decide to eat something. (Tomorrow I will definately have breakfast first thing). The outdoor seating area of Yak and Yeti now has a few guests. As I order a new item from the menu, the Mandarin Chicken Salad, the cashier tells me that I’ve made a good choice. She tells me that the salad is very good, and it is. I’m glad to be eating something healthy. Maybe I just made up a little bit for skipping the gym.

Even the outdoor seating area of Yak and Yeti is nicely themed

Within the hour, the park has become extremely crowded and excessively hot. I spend the next five hours exploring parts of the park and attractions that on previous trips I had neglected. Here’s where I begin to learn what I hadn’t learned on previous trips. It is important to pace myself. When I begin to feel hot, tired and slightly claustrophobic, go take a seat at one of the many indoor shows. It is a good way to recuperate. I recommend It’s Tough To Be A Bug to anyone who hasnt seen it. It is a fun show in 3D with unexpected special effects. Finding Nemo the musical was very good but honestly I enjoyed the rest and air conditioning most. I will take this lesson with me to the other parks for the remainder of my trip. In the process, I will experience some enjoyable shows (Impressions of France in Epcot) and some that were not so enjoyable for me (Hall of Presidents, sorry fans of that attraction). There is still much of Animal Kingdom that I haven’t explored and will have to wait until next trip.

After a full day, it is time for me to leave the crowds of Animal Kingdom and get ready for a new experience. I booked a reservation online for the Spirit of Aloha show at the Polynesian Resort. I am hungry and looking foward to and endless supply of food and an entertaining show. It begins at 5:30pm and I have an hour to get there. Let’s go.

Crowds rolling in, goodbye until next time Animal Kingdom

Stay tuned for Part 2 of Day 2 next. Spirit of Aloha at the Polynesian Resort.

With an awesome musical soundtrack by Sir Elton John, Tim Rice and Hans Zimmer. Ideally I’d have liked the DVD, but with copies online going for upwards of £20 ($32.80), I think it’s best I stick with the VHS for now. Thanks for reading.

Space Mountain is back open after a nearly six month rennovation where everything from tracks and queues were rehabbed. At one point, the roof was even off and track was being pulled out and put in. From the video I have seen, the qeues are really cool. You can play video games while waiting line!

This takes me back to my first trip to Disney World©. I went with my dad when I was ten. My parents are divorced and it was a special father daughter trip. We had a blast! My dad, still in my mind can do anything, he is a salty sailor and seems to be fearless. So when he said “let’s go on Space Mountain”, I wanted to show him I was too. But the whole time in line, I was scared to death! Keeping in mind this was the early 80s, there were no fast passes and no interactive queues, so you looked at what they had on display and made small talk while waiting in a very long line. Close to the end of the line I had to go to the bathroom so badly, I nearly had an accident but refused to tell my dad and get out of line. We rode the ride, I got off and looked at him and instantly realized, I had found the thing my dad did not like, coasters… But he did it for me as he did not want to disappoint me, thinking I wanted to ride it. He says now he was waiting for me to chicken out. I remember that day like it was almost yesterday. It wasn’t my favorite thing I had done and I wasn’t running to go back and get in line but I had conquered a fear and was proud I did it. Now, throw me on it, I am fine but I will always remember that fear in my stomach and the thrill of riding it first with my dad. That trip was full of memories and to think 28 years later, we have a business that started with a love for a place that first came into my life on that day I conquered Space Mountain.

I am a blubbering mess. Currently listening to the music of Walt Disney World at Magical Mouse Radio and envisioning possible upcoming vacation moments. Seeing my family all together in the sunshine, without the stress, smelling the smells, hearing the sounds, breathing the air and walking the walk…gets me teary-eyed. OH! Don’t forget the FOOD!! And the shopping! Hard to believe the Magic is only days away now!

While I’ve decided it will be okay if the house isn’t spotless when I leave, there are certain areas that must be taken care of before we head south. The dog has had his bath. He’ll be staying with my dad and my canine siblings. The guinea pig cages have been cleaned and plenty of hay and alfalfa have been purchased. My niece and nephew from 2 blocks down, will come to tend to my little cavies.

The dishes were done…and I’m doing them again now (sort of). Pretty sure I’ll have to do them again at least once more. Two of three bathrooms have been cleaned and trash has been taken out. I really wish I had time to put up Christmas lights, decorate the tree and paint my family room. There’s also the Walt Disney World map project that I want to finish.

Always so much to do in daily life. So many appointments to remember, errands to run, chores to complete, kids to feed and all those nasty bills to pay. …but in a few days, I will be in a perfect World. For one week, I’ll be immersed in total perfect magic…MY without-a-care-in-the-world World…where Disney can take care of me.

Hierna gingen we kijken waar we iets zouden gaan eten ontbijt/lunch.

- 2 Polo’s (Sander)

- 2 Polo’s (Danielle)

- 1 zwarte korte broek (Sander)

- 1 riem (Sander)

Excitement is growing. Euphoria is beginning to take effect. I’ll be on vacation after only three more sleeps! Arrive in Walt Disney World in 6 more days!!

I’m trying to ignore all the usual worries. “Dread” tries to partner “excitement” in the vacation anticipation. It refuses to be ignored. Please let nothing go wrong on our long drive. Please let all of us get along and please keep us all healthy. I’ll add pleas as they come to mind. Thank you and Amen.

We’re watching our favorite vacation planning DVD–Happiest Celebration on Earth. I’m leaning towards ignoring my usual demand of a spotless house at departure. I love to come home to a clean house, but this time, I just don’t care. While I’d still love to be welcomed by a spotless abode, I don’t want to get stressed over preparing, packing and Thanksgiving.

I’m going to look for a chant to ward off dread and a cheerleader to keep me on the excited side. My nerves are starting to get…well, nervous.

There are some things going on at the Walt Disney World Resort in November that you need to know a

There are some things going on at the Walt Disney World Resort in November that you need to know about:

Crowd Warnings:

Jersey Week – The New Jersey Public schools all have November 5th & 6th off for teacher-in-service days. This has a huge impact on attendance during the first week of November as thousands of families take the opportunity to take a few extra days and head to Disneyworld. Expect moderately high crowds for the whole first week of November.

Thanksgiving Week – “Holiday Season” is even more crowded than “Peak Season” so expect very high crowd levels November 21st – 28th. Heavy crowds can be fun because Disney extends park hours and adds extra show times but you’ll need a good touring plan to help you avoid horrible lines.

Pop Warner National Football, Dance & Cheer Events at Walt Disney World – November 30 – December 12. These events take place at Disney’s Wide World of Sports and the events themselves won’t affect you but you may encounter groups of young athletes (and their families) in your resort and – during their spare time – in the theme parks.

Fantasmic! (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) –This great show is no longer presented every night. It will be offered November 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30 . This is a very popular show and we highly recommend it – arrive 60-90 minutes early, if you do not have a Fantasmic! Dinner package. Disney may add a second, later performance on certain evenings during the busiest times – if they do, the later showing of Fantasmic! will always be less crowded than the earlier one Warning: When there are limited performances, you know Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to be busier on days featuring a Fantasmic! show. Afternoons will be especially busy as those with Park Hopper tickets come over to see the show. A good touring plan will help you manage this. Warning: This show is excellent but it does feature villains for a good 8-10 minutes. The scene is fairly intense and can be frightening to small children.

SpectroMagic Parade (Magic Kingdom) – This wonderful nighttime parade is not offered every night and the Magic Kingdom will be more crowded on days featuring a SpectroMagic Parade. The SpectroMagic Parade will be presented on November 2, 5, 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 3o. If Disney offers a second evening parade, the later parade will be less crowded than the earlier.

Avoid going to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot on Thanksgiving Day. There is a good chance that the park could close because of capacity level crowds and the lines will be horrible. Disney’s Hollywood Studios & Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme parks are much better choices for Thanksgiving Day.

Extra Magic Hours – (Special hours only available to Disney resort hotel guest) We recommend that everyone avoid the Extra Magic Hour park(s) of the day. Disney has 33,000 hotel rooms and no one goes to Disney alone – that means too many people are pointed in the same direction at the same time. You’ll have a much nicer time by going to a less busy park. This is doubly important if you are not staying at a Disney resort – you don’t want to get to the theme park and find a bunch of Disney guests in line in front of you.

A good touring plan will keep you ahead of the crowds and out of the long lines. We provide three choices for custom touring plans – our Custom Touring Plans, the 2009 Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World (book), or a subscription to Tour Guide Mike (online service) – at no charge to you when you book your trip through Build A Better Mouse Trip. For more information, see: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/freetouringplans.php

Special Events:

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Disney’s Magic Kingdom)- 7:00PM to Midnight – November 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 29. This special event is a lot of fun for families, with rides, a parade, shows, and fun party type events. These nights require a special event ticket ($49 – $63 per person, depending on age and date) – you cannot enter using your Magic Your Way or Park Hopper tickets. Ticket prices vary with an advance purchase discount offered on select nights. There are a limited number of tickets sold for each party Warning: The Magic Kingdom will close to the public at 7:00PM on party nights. Magic Kingdom resort area restaurants (Chef Mickey’s, 1900 Park Fare, Whispering Canyon, etc.) will fill their reservations early as people look for something nearby to enjoy after the early park closing. Contact us today to purchase your party tickets.

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancng Lights (Disney’s Hollywood Studios) – November 10, 2009 – January 4, 2010. This is an incredible holiday light display beginning around dusk. Every 15 minutes, the display will glow and dim to correspond with the holiday music. It is quite a sight! No extra ticket needed – included with your park admission.

Holidays Around the World. (Epcot) – November 27 – December 30th. The World Showcase pavilions will each feature a special holiday storyteller that tells about Christmas (or other holiday) festivities in that country. No extra ticket needed – included with your park admission. Check your Epcot times guide.

Candlelight Processional (Epcot) – November 27 – December 30th. Nightly: 5:00, 6:45, & 8:00PM. A large choir, orchestra, and celebrity narrators retell the Christmas Story in the America Gardens Theatre. This beautiful production is extremely popular and fills to capacity. People sometimes line up hours early. TIP: Arrive at least 45 minutes early for the 5:00PM performance for your best chance to get in with a minimum wait. TIP: Candlelight Processional Lunch/Dinner Packages eliminate long waits. You have several restaurant choices and you’ll receive a voucher that guarantees seating at the Candlelight Processional. These packages aren’t cheap but a nice meal and the wonderful Candlelight Processional are certainly a special occasion worth celebrating. The Candlelight Processional Dinner Packages are included in the Disney Dining Plan but will take two table-service meal credits per person. Call 407-WDW-DINE to check availability and to make reservations.

This year’s celebrity narrators:

November 27-29 Isabella Rossellini

November 30 & December 1-2 John O’Hurley
December 3-5 Steven Curtis Chapman
December 6-8 Anika Noni Rose
December 9-11 Andy Garcia
December 12-14 Vanessa Williams
December 15-17 Abigail Breslin
December 18-20 Whoopi Goldberg
December 21-23 Brian Dennehy
December 24-6 Edward James Olmos
December 27-30 Angela Bassett / Courtney B. Vance

Celebrate Tonight – Downtown Disney’s West End Plaza. Mini Street Parties featuring a DJ and stilt walkers lead dances, the limbo, party games, and sign-alongs. They only last about 20 minutes each but are a lot of fun. Sunday – Thursday: intermittently 5:00pm– 11:00pm. Friday – Saturday: intermittently 6:00pm– Midnight. Check on the hour and half hour.

Temporary Attraction Closures and refurbishments:

Liberty Tree Tavern (Restaurant – Magic Kingdom) the restaurant will be open but – beginning January 5th – Liberty Tree Tavern will no longer offer character dining.

Space Mountain has been closed for refurbishment and is scheduled to re-open on November 22nd.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon (water park) – will be closed November and December for its annual refurbishment.

Liberty Belle Riverboat is closed to guests until January 4th, 2010 due to the Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee.

Disney’s Magical Express (Airport Shuttle Service) - New luggage procedure for late night arrivals. As of March 30th, luggage service will no longer be available for arrivals to Orlando International Airport after 10:00PM. Collect your luggage at baggage claim and take with you to the Disney’s Magical Express check-in desk.

Can You Save Money with the “Free Nights” Promotion?

Disney recently released a “free nights” promotion that includes select dates in December. There is very limited availability for December but the savings can be significant. Guests staying at a Disney Value resort for 5 nights can receive two additional nights free. Guests booking a qualifying Magic Your Way package at a Disney moderate or deluxe resort for four nights can receive up to three nights stay. Your ticket length is also increased but you still have to pay for the dining plan for those nights, if you are using a Disney Dining Plan Did you book your reservation under the “Free Dining Promotion”? For value & moderate resort guests, that is usually the better value. Deluxe resort guests may save more with this promotion. Use this online form to contact us to book your reservation.

If you find this report helpful, please consider using us to book your vacation reservations or for custom theme park touring plans. We are authorized Walt Disney World Vacation Planners and book directly with Disney so you never pay more than if you booked the reservation yourself. Then we provide lots of help and advice designed to take the stress out of vacation planning.

At Build A Better Mouse Trip, we are convinced that everyone can benefit with good touring plans. During busy times, a good plan will absolutely keep you ahead of the crowds and out of the lines – our clients typically wait less than 20 minutes for rides, even thrill rides and headliners. During less crowded times, a good plan factors in shorter park hours and fewer performance times. But the most important benefit of a good plan is that everyone gets to ride and see the things that they are looking forward to because everyone’s priorities are included in a plan that tours the parks efficiently and effectively. For more information see: http://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/freetouringplans.htm

You can purchase custom planning services from us but most of our clients get them for free. We accept Disney and other hotel commissions as payment for our planning services. If you’ve already booked your own reservation, it may be possible to have our name added as the agent of record. Your rate, confirmation, and benefits all stay exactly the same. In this situation, Disney just pays us the commission they would’ve kept for themselves. Then – free to you – we provide you with custom touring plans that let you enjoy more attractions with less lines.

We bezoeken dan It’s Tohough to be a Bug een leuke 3D belevenis.

I’ve been thinking a lot about traveling lately and and it’d be great to visit places that I’ve longed to go to ever since I was a kid. As has been the trend in my past few posts here’s list of places that I’d like to visit one day in the U.S. of A.

Universal Studios

#1 – Universal Studios, Los Angeles. Yeah, yeah … Hollywood included as well. I’ve seen L.A. so much on TV and in movies but it’d be pretty cool to see it for myself. I don’t even know where to start cos’ the city sprawls so I guess I’ll start with Universal Studios then figure out where else to go to in L.A. once I really am going.

The Grand Canyon

#2 – The Grand Canyon, Arizona. I’m not really a nature person but being to take a drive all over the States with a stop at the Grand Canyon seems perfect for some reason. I’m a city-boy I guess but I don’t mind the outdoors in short bursts. So a road-trip of sorts seems cool.

Boston

#3 – Boston, Massachusetts cos’ I’ve got family there and it’s really beautiful there in the fall.

Disney World in Orlando, Florida

#4 – Walt Disney World, Florida. Why? Cos’ it’s Disneyworld!

New York City

#5 – New York City. No particular reason why except that I wanna see what a city of that size & bustle would be like.

And there you have it. The top 5 places I’d like to visit in the States one day. I hope I’ll get to go to these places soon but travel is expensive and the Malaysian Ringgit isn’t that great. *sighs* Oh well, it’d happen one day. I know it!

Day 1 It’s my first day in Walt Disney World. I begin my ritual of heading to the Magic Kingdo

Day 1

It’s my first day in Walt Disney World. I begin my ritual of heading to the Magic Kingdom first and riding my favorite attraction The Haunted Mansion.

I walk through the turnstiles. It is 2:25pm. Under the train station, I take time to look at the posters of some classic attractions. Next, I continue past the sculpture of Roy O. Disney and Minnie Mouse. The topiary is decorated for Halloween. Now, I am standing before Main Street, alone! I can do whatever I want. I take in all of the details of Main Street, the shops, the windows, the merchandise. I see things I never took the time out to see before.

There is the mailbox perched on a lampost from which you can send mail from within the Magic Kingdom. I take my time noticing more details. The second floor windows reference Disney Imagineers. I make a left past Casey’s Corner and cross the bridge with the colonial street lamps leading into Liberty Square. I can see the Haunted Mansion down and to the left. It is all mine! I enjoy the experience of the attraction in the way that one would lose themself in a good book. It’s my world.

I spend the entire day indulging. I ride whatever attraction I want. I eat in whatever restaurant I choose. I shop without shame.
I take time to explore attractions I never made time for before. The Carousel of Progress is not all that bad!

I have taken both my Nikon camera and Canon camcorder. One is stashed in my over the shoulder camera bag. The other is in constant use. Having my camera and camcorder added a sense of purpose. The need to document my experience enhanced my experience. I took many pictures.

The park is to close at 10pm. I stay until Wishes fireworks. Then head for the monorail for Extra Magic Hours at Epcot.

At this point I am deliriously tired. Still I have to get those extra hours! I arrive at Epcot. Again I am noticing details. The sidewalk in Future World is glittering with lights. As I make my way to World Showcase, the Illuminations fireworks begin to explode. The welcoming display is relentlessly pleasing. One explosion of sound and color outdoes the next. When it is over I decide to end the night with some late night dinner.

Every restaurant I go into is booked completely at 10pm! Nine Dragons is completely mobbed. Akershus has some seats available but honestly it looks tired. From the staff to the buffet. It has peaked for the night. I make my way to Japan. Teppan Edo has got a line out of the door. No chance. Down the stairs I go and up again across the way. Yakitori House is just what I need. Some sushi (ok California roll but close enough) and a large lemonade hits the spot. I enjoy my food while texting my partner to share my experience.

It was an exhausting but fun day. Time to head over to the Friendship IV and head back to the Dolphin Resort.

In the morning I will get up early. Animal Kingdom then Spirit of Aloha with a last stop at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Stay tuned for Day 2.
