Camo Rock Climb Slide

Our camo rock climb slide is a double 22 foot slide that will have everyone racing to see who can finish first. As they enter, guests will race through obstacles and up a “rock climb” to the top of the slide. From there, guests slide down an exciting, fast slide. At the bottom of each of the slides lies two obstacles that must conquered before completing the ride.

From start to finish, this obstacle course is tremendous fun for everyone. Not only do guests love the slide, but they love the challenge of racing against an opponent on a difficult, yet fun rental. With this rental, there’s no draft needed. Volunteers will be pouring in to complete the training! How will you handle the training? Will you successfully conquer the slide, or will you merely pass the fun to someone else?

Remove junk foods from the house and you eliminate temptations, while promoting healthier choices. Not keeping unhealthy food around means that your child won’t have anything to beg for. Simply think of such items as rare pleasures in which you indulge only on holidays or vacations.

Take a less domineering approach with your children and guide them towards what you think they should be doing. When children are told that they cannot do this or that, they might feel that their freedom is restricted. Focusing on what your children are able to do will make their restrictions seem less like a punishment.

Imagine how your child will interpret what you tell him! You will want to gain the trust of your children.

You need to make a clean space on the counter where your child can lay. Allow your child to hold their head over the sink while you run water over it. Most toddlers find this method less stressful than having their head placed under water.

Try to maintain your usual routines with regard to sleeping and eating when you travel with a young child. Traveling with young kids can be stressful on them, particularly when they are infants. Maintaining bedtime rituals can provide comfort for your child in the unfamiliar space and can permit all of you to get the sleep you need.

Rules should be clearly defined for children, and a list can help you accomplish this. They must also be aware that there are consequences when the rules are broken. These rules and restrictions help your children understand that you love them and want only the best for them. Rules are essential to healthy relationships between family members.

Make sure your children have reflective materials on their backpacks or coats if they walk to school. It is easy to attach and remove the material from these items when it is purchased as strips with Velcro backing. This helps crossing guards and drivers see your kids better, especially when it’s early in the morning.

Children have a natural need for independence. Give them household chores so they will feel the sense of independence that they need. For example, you could allow your young child to hand you some dishes out of the dishwasher when unloading it. When you fold laundry, have your child sort through the socks. Helping out around the house will help them to feel independent and gain self-esteem.

Focus on the positive with your children, such as what they should be doing instead of what they shouldn’t be doing. When children are always being told what not to do, they may feel as though their freedom is being taken away. Instead, if you focus more on what they are allowed to do, it will give them some sense of control.

If your children are like mine, they love helping out in the kitchen. Why not make a party of it. In order for your party to be a success, simply follow these steps:

3. Have the children decorate their apron’s with fabric paint (they can then take their apron home with them as their party favor).

Let’s face it: Planning a birthday party is extremely difficult! There are ton’s of choices. I recently saw a birthday party where the girls at the party put feathers in their hair. Who would have ever thought that feathers would be the foundation for a great party? Okay, so we might be a little bit biased, but if you ask Bounce and Slide Texas, Bounce House Rentals are the way to make any party perfect! Of course, when you do decide to rent a bounce house, there are still a lot of questions that you should ask of the company that you decide to rent from. Today, we’re going to give you ten questions that you NEED to know the answer to before you schedule your event:

1)Is the company licensed? There are literally thousands of bounce house companies in the United States. Many companies throw a website together, and don’t go through any of the legalities to make sure they are actually allowed to rent bounce house rentals. There are laws in place to protect you. Before renting, make sure the company is licensed.

2) Is the company insured? Although we never like to mention it, unfortunately accidents can happen. Many companies choose not to insure their bounce house units because insurance for our industry is EXTREMELY expensive. However, a reputable company such as Bounce and Slide Texas insures all of their units to make sure that you are covered. If you choose not to rent a bounce house or water slide from us, make sure you rent from someone who is both licensed and insured!

3)How old is the inflatable rental? To save money, many companies by old, used, dirty bounce houses from larger companies. What they don’t tell you when you’re ordering your bounce house is that the unit often looks old, used, and dirty. Reputable companies are constantly buying new inventory to replace the old, used, dirty inventory. Make sure to ask about the age of the bounce house that you will be receiving for your special event

4)Are the units cleaned before every use? It’s gross, we know, but there are tons of companies that do not properly clean and sanitize their inflatables before and/or after each rental. It’s gross, and unsanitary. Bounce and Slide Texas cleans and sanitizes our units before each rental!

5)Are the company that you’re renting from using quality equipment? There are many manufactures that sell cheap equipment which is made of poor quality material. Commercial equipment comes with strong, sturdy, vinyl that you can see in the quality.

6) What happens if the owner gets sick? Does everything shut down? For whatever reason, there are thousands of people that they can own an inflatable rental business. So people buy a jump thinking they will set it up on weekends and make some quick cash. But what about weekends when the owner of the business gets sick. Well, normally, business shuts down. A reliable company will have the staff and inventory to make your party a success no matter what!

7)Do they return calls in a timely manner? In the party rental business, customer service is everything. Unfortunately, there are many companies that treat this business extremely casually. Small, unreliable companies will stop returning phone calls as it gets closer to the time of your event. Make sure you’re happy with the customer service of the company that you decide to use from the very beginning. How you’re treated at the beginning of the process is a good indication of how much integrity your chosen company has.

8) What type of inflatable does the company offer? They say that it takes a village to raise a child. I personally believe that this is wonderful, and that moms and dads can use guidance to shape how they parent their children. But it really helps when that ‘guidance’ is given in such a way that supports and helps the family, not in a manner that judges and brings them down. The Hunger Games

I don’t enjoy reading. In fact, I generally dislike reading. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book all the way through. That was, until I recently read The Hunger Games. My son and my wife (both of whom love reading) had recently read the book and had been talking about how great it was. I knew the movie was coming out soon, and for once wanted to actually know for myself whether the book was in fact better than the movie. So, I decided to read The Hunger Games last week. I LOVED IT! It was so well written, I couldn’t put it down. I neglected my seven month old for the better part of a weekend so I could finish the book before the movie premiered. You’ve undoubtedly read the book, seen the movie, or at least know about both, so I won’t bore you with the details. No, this blog is about how The Hunger Games gave me a great day.

My wife and I wanted to go see the movie on opening day (one of the reasons I read the book so quickly) but didn’t have a baby sitter for our seven month old. My son also wanted to see the movie, but we thought the lines would be too long during the weekend. So, yesterday, my wife and I decided to surprise our kids by breaking them out of school for the afternoon so we could watch the movie.

My family is usually very strict about everything school related. My kids strive for perfect attendance every year, and usually get it. I say this so you understand that we don’t go around looking for reasons to take our kids out of school. Our history of not doing this type of thing actually made our deviance even sweeter. The looks on their faces as we pulled them out of school and told them what we were doing was priceless. Both of them had gone through a long day of standardized testing, and didn’t have much going on at school, which made me feel less guilty about taking them out of school (although we probably would have done it regardless of what was going on in school).

When we got to the theater, we bought tickets for the early showing, but I quickly realized that it was not in our theater’s new XD room that comes complete with speakers that make your seat rumble and a HUGE screen. So I quickly returned the tickets and spent almost twice as much so we could see the movie on the largest screen any of us had ever watched a movie on. We normally sneak candy from the Dollar Store (yes, we’re that family) into the movie, but didn’t have time to go before the movie started. So, we spent an enormous amount of money on candy, drinks, and popcorn at the theater. When all was said and done, after calculating in extra childcare expenses for the baby, we spent nearly $100 for the four of us to enjoy The Hunger Games. And it was worth every penny!

For 2 1/2 hours during the movie, and even a couple of hours after the movie, we were all one happy family. We had a common purpose, a common act of deviance. We felt like rule-breakers, and loved every minute of it! And then my son began acting like Cato and was trying to kill his sister. And just like that, life was back to normal again. But those hours were precious hours that I hope to never forget. Thanks Susanne Collins! Now hurry up and release Catching Fire so I can have a few more hours of pure bliss with the family!
