Albam and Barbour have got some new style’s for this winter if you’re after a nice classy outer garment.

Albam Hunting Cagoule. Very similar to the Albam Fisherman’s Cagoule,  which I got for Christmas last year, but heavier in fabric. Not as stylish as the Fisherman’s but still nice and a good one for the autumn/winter season. Barbour have a nice new jaiket out they call Dunelm. Looks very similar to the Durham, which I also own, but has more pockets and looks a heavier waxed cotton. It looks like a good rain jacket and i’ll consider it once the Durham has given up on me. Now I’m not really a parka wearer, but I like Volcom and they have normally have some nice little details on their garments. The Discovery Parka, quite plain in black, but probably has some nice features and those Volcom angled pockets are always distinguishing.

You could do a lot worse than to mack one of these this winter.

I have always been a big fan of Hellz Bellz, though recently I have become a mega fan. Blogging about the line, going to their 2nd ever sample sale and actually meeting the designers made it all possible. Miss Wax jewlery has become a favorite of mine also, thanks to the baddest female, CL. She has rocked the jewlery during  2NE1’s I don’t care promotions.

So I almost had a hard attack when I found out that the two were collaborating!

Han surgido noticias de que la icónica fabricante de tocadiscos Technics detendrá la producción en sus universalmente amados  Technics 1200s y Technics 1210s.

En una declaración que se ha colocado en el foro Global Hardstyle, la compañía detrás de la producción de los platos Technics (Panasonic) anunció que cesaría la fabricación de plataformas giratorias Tehcnics en febrero del próximo año, citando una disminución creciente de las ventas como la motivación detrás de la desaparición de la línea.

La sede de Panasonic en Australia  emitió una declaración similar el día de hoy, expresando su decepción de que la marca de 35 años haya llegado a su fin.

“Es un día triste hoy, pero debido a la baja de ventas a nivel mundial en tocadiscos análogos, se ha tomado la decisión de detener la producción de platos Technics. Para Australia, esto significa que recibiremos nuestro último envío en marzo” Explicó el portavoz para Panasonic, Ian North.

Aunque estamos seguros de que los clásicos platos Technics vivirán en los corazones de muchos artistas, también lo harán en los corazones de los clubes más puristas.

i first met this fine young man in 1997 at the bmg offices with rainbow if memory serves me correctly.

he couldn’t have been a day over 15 at the time and to see that earnest youngin turn into the well rounded dude and peer he now is puts a smile on my face.

i don’t have many close friends, and definitely not many “new” ones. It takes a special person to last 10 years in my life and in all honesty, i am just getting to really know kaelah since moving back to toronto in 2006.

congrats on making it to this first milestone, homie. i hope your 25th year is amazing and brings you perspective, growth and promise!

Okay, there was a very good reason I hadn’t had a Brazilian in 2.5 years. It is as painful as childbirth. I have to admit, though, that I feel like a better woman for having done it. As I said to a friend last night (part of my crisis intervention is to have one night a week “off;” that is, I get out of the house while my husband stays home and watches the baby video monitor), getting waxed makes you feel good—after the fact, of course—because you’re paying attention to things down there, just like doing a Jillian Michaels DVD during your lunch hour makes you feel like you’re taking care of your abs and triceps.

Anyway, it hurt, but it’s done. And I’ll put it on my iCal to do it again in a month or so (along with a note: TAKE MORE ADVIL).

Long day for no pay
Well, atleast I got my Texas Burger that satisfied my belly alot.
I also got something today that satisfied my hair, a new deep conditioner.
‘Aussie 3 minute miracle Deep Conditioner for coloured hair‘, that reconstructs damaged hair ( partly from colouring), antifrizz, straightening and nurishing.
Apparently it is made mainly from all natural ingredients, specially found in Australia.
I just tried it and it worked very nicely actually, just what I need:P
It is also especially good because I tend to wear and tear my hair alot because when I style it I use pretty rough products.

I just found a website that ships Gatsby and other japanese hairproducts worldwide for very nice prices!

Well, for now I’ve finished my mastering Astoronomy assignment. I was expecting a low 60% but got a low 70%! Awesome. *pat on the back*

Anyways, not too happy about Tuesday. Why you might ask? Well i have my first EVER in-class essay. Not ready! I hope Dr. Spring shows up easy films like Wizard of Oz or Do the Right thing. I would so demolish the essay! One setback though, I need to remember the director and year the film was released. HOW IN THE WORLD WILL I REMEMBER THAT?!

FML. PLUS, it is worth 20%. The same weight my mid-term was. Ah. Fonna=Dead.

Anyways, I finished reading another book just a few days ago (it’s due tomorrow, so i can grab another book for the beloved library).

It is called The House of Forgetting by Benjamin Alire Saenz (there are accented letters in his name, but you get the point).

It was okay. I’d rate it 3/5. When I read the summary, I thought story would dive into the progression of the relationship between the kidnapper (Thomas Blacker) and the kidnapped (Gloria Santos). Instead it mostly told the story of the outcome of this relationship, occasionally dipping into the past so that readers could understand the present.

Sometimes the plot gripped my attention, but only for a short while. For people who don’t have a library due date, they wouldn’t really read this book in a short amount of time (it’s not really a 1-2 day read, but a 9-10 day read).

Other than what was mentioned, I would have to say that someother lingering things are going on in my life:

• I might get one thing off my Christmas List
• Piano Lessons are expensive and I want to take them but gosh.
• My budget gives little to no room for “me money”
• I’m becoming more involved in school! (yay)
• My sleep pattern is MESSED UP
• I am considering not having kids (random right?)
• I desperately want to go shopping (even thrift store shopping)
• Readings are so constant, I’m going brain dead , yet I’m retaining info.
• I’m nervous for my psychology and sociology tests next week
• My eyesight is weak without my glasses
• I want to get waxed (like a FULL BODY WAX)
• I desperatley need a massage
• Movies help me pass the time
• Tumblr is also helping me pass the time
• I’m not suppposed to be doing things to pass time, instead I should be doing h/w
• Sitting around in sweats is the way to live your life (well at least uni. life)

Anyways, now that that’s done, I have one last thing:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

Yes, this post is actually about my upper lip. No, it’s not a euphemism for something more meaningful.

After a lovely evening across the street, a fireside cookout on a sunny, unseasonably warm fall day, I came home and decided to take care of my mustache. I’ve tried every remedy known to man to de-hair myself. I’ve used chemical removers that smell like it’s 1988 and my upper lip’s getting a permanent. I’ve tried bleaches, but you have to mix that crap and that’s just one step too many for this girl. And I’d have to bleach my fucking face everyday, so it’s not really a solution. I’ve actually resorted to just giving my mustache a haircut; trimming it with scissors or, in moments of desparation, using an eyebrow razor to shave that shit off.

I’ve moved up in the world. I am now a complete, full- grown add-ult, and a sophisticated one at that, as I’ve actually been waxing. I can’t afford the time or money to go to a she she poo poo salon and, honestly, I’m not sure I want this done publicly, so I bought a home waxing kit.

Last night, while Sissy brushed her teeth, I pulled out said waxing kit and proceeded to rip hair out of my face. It worked, a little too well. I have unfortunately traded in my mustache of hair for one made of bright red, raw skin. It seems the top layer of skin on my upper lip came peeling off along with the no heat wax strip. And not even all of the fucking hair.

Darling Husband says to me this morning, whilst I’m looking, and smelling, rather glamorous (last night’s mascara under my eyes, vitamin E and neosporin smeared all over my angry red upper lip, morning breath, bedhead, you get the idea), “Is that really worth it?” The waxing, he means.

Oh, praytell, Darling Husband, what would you have me do instead? Walk around with a manstache on my fucking face? I don’t want to be the mom with the mustache! Or the one with the chin hair. Or the fat one. I don’t exactly want to be the MILF either but there has to be a happy medium, no?

And I’d like to see how long my husband would last if I didn’t take care of those unsightly, mannish hairs on a regular basis. What if I quit shaving my legs or (ee gad!) my underarms? I don’t really know why I shave anyway, except that I feel like an ape when I don’t. That and Society, at least American Society, has made it perfectly clear to me that hair anywhere other than my head is U-G-L-Y.

Last night, after applying vitamin E to my upper lip and putting on my coziest, gnarliest jammies, I heard a faint knock at the front door. Darling Husband was nowhere to be found; all of the children tucked in bed. Obviously I couldn’t answer the door with my bright red manstache staring whoever it was in the face. Whether it be neighbor or serial killer, I was far too humiliated to let them see my upper lip in such a glaring, awkward state. So, like most mature adults, I went scurrying out of the living room and hid in the downstairs half bath. I stayed in the bathroom, eating a chocolate chip cookie, until I was certain the coast was clear.

Unfortunately, my lip is just as red today. I’m still in my rumpled pj’s. Last night’s make up is still smeared across my face. And I’m not answering the door. For nobody.

This collaboration team comprised of four girls.

We found that our shared passion was TEA.

We thought that the tea culture was an apt subject to study for a collaborative project. In Britain, many of our social events revolve around tea.

Tea is also used to soothe difficult life problems.

We used our various creative talents and interests to inspire the project.

All of these objects were created collaboratively by the team.

My personal study over this time, was to experiment with different kinds of teas as a paint or dye.
