Sportschuhe sind keine Schuhe!

Wer wie Chloe den schwarzen Gürtel für Qualität inne hat, der weiß auch dieselbigen zu organisieren! Ihre Accessoires sind daher alle prozessorientiert nach dem First in – Last out-Verfahren (FILO) im Flur angesiedelt. Für den normalen Anwender wie folgt zu merken:

Tret ich herein, leg ich zuerst ab. Tret ich heraus, leg ich zuletzt an.

Ferner ist mein offenes FILO-Regalsystem ganz nach den Leitfäden des visuellen Managements gestaltet. Auf einen Blick erschließt sich der Garderoben-Projektmanagerin – nachdem sie zur Sicherheit noch ihr Weather-Pixie zu Rate gezogen hat - die Match-Plantechnik. Ob Handschuh, Regenschirm, Gürtel, Handtasche oder Schuhe: alles kann blitzschnell der Damenoberbekleidung zugeordnet werden. Die Reduzierung der Durchlaufzeiten ist höchstes Prozessziel! Dadurch schaffe ich mir mehr Freiräume für Telefonate, Make up und Leibesübungen. Zum Glück kann ich meine 5 S auch morgens um 5 im Schlaf sowie anderen betäubten Zuständen aufsagen:

Seiri (Sortieren: Jahreszeit ferne Handschuhe werden eingemottet)
Seiton (Systematisieren: Schuhe werden nach Absatzhöhe und Farbe abgelegt)
Seisō (Säubern: Das Regal wird stets um alte Saisonmodelle und -farben bereinigt)
Seiketsu (Standardisieren: Handtaschen immer mit der Öffnung nach vorne aufstellen)
Shitsuke (Selbstdisziplin (engl.: MONK): Erhaltung der Ordnung, Sauberkeit und Einhaltung der Standards)

Wenn nun ein Mann zum ersten Mal die Wohnung dieser Total Quality Woman betritt,

könnte er von Chloes bis zur Perfektion angewandten Kaizen-Methoden schon etwas verunsichert sein. Um meine Dates nicht weiter zu irritieren, habe ich daher vorerst von einem Kanban-System im Schuhregal abgesehen. [Anmerkungen des Über-Schuhs: Zu gerne würde ich bei jedem Kauf eines neuen Paar Schuhe die Mindestabsatzhöhe ermitteln, um eine Just-in-Time-Besohlung in Auftrag zu geben].

Zwangsneurotische Abgründe beiseite… wieder zum Wesentlichen: in puncto Handtaschen wissen männliche SpreeSee-Leser bereits, wie sie Maya manisch und mich cholerisch werden lassen. Aufpassen, Jungs! Nun wieder Notizblock und Stift zum Thema No Gos beim ersten Date zücken. Einen wahren Trampel erkennt man am folgenden Satz:

Du hast aber viele Schuhe!

ICH habe keinen Schuhtick! Männer können einfach nicht zählen. Das ist alles. Laut meiner für Chloe typischen 5-Sekunden-Recherche besitzt eine Frau im Durchschnitt knapp 14 Paar Schuhe. Da liege ich sogar drunter!
Denn, nun an alle Männer, hier der wesentliche Tipp zur Schuhrechnung des Fußwerks: Sneaker sind keine Schuhe, Kletterlatschen sind keine Schuhe, Wanderstiefel sind keine Schuhe, Adiletten sind keine Schuhe, FlipFlops sind keine Schuhe, Gummistiefel sind keine Schuhe und meine Joggingschuhe erst recht nicht!

Warum? Weil der Kauf dieser Schuhe mit keinem Glückshormon oder hysterischem Schrei verbunden ist. Weil der Kauf dieser Schuhe uns in den Rande des Wahnsinn treibt. Weil: “Iiiiiihhhhh, das ist so hässlich, das kann ich niemals tragen!!!” Am Samstag durchlief ich ganz München mit meiner lieben Freundin und bekannten SpreeSee-Chefkommentatorin nach einem beschissenen Paar Indoor-Sportschuhen. Zwei Kriterien waren lediglich zu beachten: helle Sohle und Funktion. Ich konnte mich dennoch nicht überwinden, über die altbackene Optik hinwegzuschauen. Und jeder Versuch gewisser Brands, ihren Hallenschuhen etwas Pepp zu verleihen, war einfach nicht Ernst zu nehmen:

Ja, wir Frauen geben gerne mal 300 Euro für einen Hauch von Leder aus. Aber bei 125 Euro für nen Sportschuh, den ich gerade mal zwei Stunden in der Woche hinter vier geschlossen Turnhallenmauern trage, weicht die Kaufsucht der Nüchternheit. Ja, liebe Männer: Wo die Rationalität anfängt, hört der Schuh auf, Schuh zu sein !

Am Schluss kaufte ich nix. Schob das Problem auf bzw. warte immer noch auf Mayas Hilfe!! Du kannst mich doch nicht so fahrlässig hässlich meine Sportdates… äh Matches antreten lassen! Wo bleibt Dein Mode-Altruismus??

Ein Tannenbaum auf Weltreise

Liebe Chloe, wenn du schon nichts über Indien schreibst, dann lass ich eben meiner Fantasie mal freien Lauf und übernehme das…

Tja- da verfolgt dich die Adventszeit doch tatsächlich über die Erdteile hinweg. Ich kann es nicht fassen, dass dein indisches Weather Pixie neben dem gleichen Tannenbaum steht, wie deine See-Elfe und mein Berliner Ebenbild!

Eine Reminiszenz an den Weihnachtsjunkie in dir oder ein Missionsauftrag?
Vielleicht könntest du – entgegen deiner letzten Nachrichten – doch noch auf den spirituellen Hippie Trail aufspringen und eine neue Sekte begründen:

Chloe, der Tannenbaum-Guru

Inhaltlich stelle ich mir das so vor:
Einfach nur an den Händen fassen und dann mit dem Fahrer und anderen Reisenden rund um den Baum tanzen und folgendes Mantra singen:

Hare Tannenbaum, Hare Tannenbaum, Tannenbaum Tannenbaum, Hare Hare/Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

Opfergaben gehen in Form von bunt verpackten Geschenken direkt unter den Baum und von dort an dich.

Schöne Sache, oder?

Darüber hinaus leuchten auch schon die Lichter an deinem Baum – wobei mir einfällt, dass hier in Europa bald nur noch Energiesparlampen erlaubt sind. Was deine ökologischen Sorgen bezüglich des Lichtmülls in Schwaben vielleicht lindern mag könnte zum Problem für die indische Tannenbaum-Sekte werden, hier sind ja noch die bösen alten Glühlampen im Einsatz. Man stelle sich vor, ganz Indien schaltet plötzlich die Lichtlein am Baum an, die Durschschnittstemperatur würde weltweit wohl direkt um 1 Grad pro Woche steigen, bei all dem Co 2. Und das wollen wir natürlich nicht.

Sollen die Inder lieber weiter Kühe verehren – die Energiebilanz von brennenden Kuhfladen, wie ist die eigentlich? Könnte man die an den Baum hängen?

Na ja – jetzt wirds zu albern und ich höre auf.

How To Use a Blog

Today’s entry is dedicated to Claudia and all of us who are wondering how to make a Comment. What is a Comment? Let’s look at the process.

A blog is a social networking tool. Note the word ’social.’ That means that I write an entry and post it in the window on the left. Then people visit my blog, read what I’ve written and either go away (sob) or reply (yeah!) The reply part would be Making a Comment. Comments make a blog ’social.’ People generally Comment on the topic of the day (using the link under the daily post Make A Comment) or they look at the recent posts, pull up a previous topic, and Make A Comment on an earlier entry. Yes, you can do that. : ^ ) You can also poke around the blog and open some of the links I have placed on the interface for your enjoyment. I happen to like cats so I have cat photos that constantly refresh. No, there is no reason to believe these cats have any association with the library or reading except that they may, on occasion, take a nap on a book.

The links at the right are themed to the general interests of librarianship since my entire life is dedicated to learning about libraries, working in a library, graduating from library school and landing a full-time library position in Anywhere, CA. I happen to enjoy reading these library-oriented folks. No, I don’t agree with each and every thing they post. They are outstanding librarians in their fields of interest. I’ve included job hunting tools as so many of us are, or soon will be, looking for employment in public and school libraries. Typical visitors are interested in talking about Storytelling, children’s and YA literature, library graduate school and library life.

I have removed the Sonific widget by popular demand so you can read in silence so you won’t have to turn off your speakers before secretly logging on at work (sob). Why the Weather Pixie? you ask? Sometimes it’s just nice to know what the temperature is out there in the real world when you are cooped up at the computer. The weather reads from The Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville (where I’m at) so the weather girl is not “wrong”–she’s just not in your area. Yes, the weather girl can be a weather boy if you like. If you ask, I’ll can make him a Goth male with spiked hair if you prefer. This pixie seemed a nice update to our last weather girl. I post videos and yes I’m open to posting pictures. If you don’t want to see my library book displays all the time, send some of yours. It’s fun to see what other librarians are up to in the other end of the pond.

So that’s it. Many people visit the blog and just read or link to stuff. Others ask questions or just say hello. Next time I’ll talk about how to use TAGS. Thanks Claudia.

Ga-ga over Karaoke

Heh, just like I’ve expected, the movie could’ve done with a much better hero. In fact, it could have done much better itself, but it was still quite fun to watch. It was one of those mind-puzzling games where one pieces together his life after having his memory wiped out. Interesting. I wish I can wipe out bits of my memory, how cool would that be! Oooh, in fact it would have been even better to do that on P so he won’t keep mentioning the ‘Bedok South incident’ every time we fight. Err, I am not gonna bring that up. Guess some things are much better kept as memories

Now lets see, here’s what DVDs I would love to get next…

i) Memento
ii) Pirates of the Carribean – don’t think this is out yet, but I shall check.
iii) Black Hawk Down

…and a few more English Karaoke VCDs *grins*. But not so soon, I have…erm…used up the whole of next weeks’ allowance Just this afternoon I bought 4 Malay karaoke VCDs, about $12.90 per CD set. My sis, Di, wanted that Siti song badly – Bukan Cinta Biasa, and that came with a few other good Malay songs so I’ve tempted myself to buying those.

Heh, now after 5 straight hours of singing, I oughta give my throat a rest.

Ps: Feck, now I have Yasin’s song stuck in my head. Screw you, Di! :p
