I thought I would show you another use for the mobile studio.

The IDNS website is shortly due a revamp in time for next years trade shows and what better way to introduce your staff to potential customers than the ability to post their image on the site. I believe the site is being built in house so I licensed all the images to meet their requirements taking into account any future needs.

After the studio session all the staff braved the bitter cold and downed telephones to pose for a group photo outside their very impressive office space in the heart of Bolton.

I provided both high and low key backdrops within the studio, remaining on the high key side for production as I didnt believe dark and sinister looking portraits would create the best impression! I also used a mild form of HDR for the images of the Boardroom. I superimposed the company logo onto the screens being careful to retain the glare and reflections from the glossy surfaces.

Hope you like. As always comments welcome!!

Are you selling affiliate products? If this is how you make your money, then you will without doubt

Are you selling affiliate products? If this is how you make your money, then you will without doubt end up having many websites. Indeed, it’s possible you’ll have some sites focussing upon the affiliate products¨ you are promoting. Each on of your internet sites could include lots of articles or reviews sprinkled with affiliate links spreaded in the thick of the site. In such case, quality is not the most important, but content is vital. The purpose is to get your readers to have a look over your info over and visit your affiliate links and purchasing the item providing you with a commission cash. The more sorts of information based internet sites you may have on the web, the better. In this scenario there’s not as much need for special solutions. An automated website builder would be ideal for the objective. They are composed of pre made templates that you can easily modify for your own wants. I review this strategy on one of my websites, The software is called Auto Profit Launcher and I explain precisely a way to use web applications like this to make money online .

1. A Net based biz depends upon a nice looking website. This is the same as your shopping center shelf. You would presume people to step into your shop and skim around, and as well, you’d want folks to click around your internet site and read what you are writing about for example. If you’ve got a unattractive designed website, you might give up valuable clients which will cost earnings in the long term. Well, do you do it yourself using a commercial HTML modifying software application, like MS FrontPage, or do you employ a professional designer to create your internet site for you?

2. Which type of webhosting should you choose? No matter if you will be hosting your sites on your own server or a virtual server, then you need a application that lets you produce documents and upload them to any server. A few website builders have your files hosted all alone server managed by a database. So, check out this before you get into or sign up to any product. In the best case, you must get FULL control of the internet site building software, including the functionality to edit already built templates, or generate your own, and to store the files in any area. You also need free upgrades and at minimum e-mail support for any issues you may confront.

3. You need to accept credit card cash on your site? Do you own a local business where you market products you buy in or perhaps create? You’ll need store front solution and a catalog function so an individual can search for and buy your products. Professionally created websites for this sort of scenario can be costly, but worth it in the future. Except for you are a techie yourself, I would say either buying an ‘ready-made’ application, or pay a programmer to design a individualized website to meet your requirements.

4. Are you offering subject information, and wish to publish pay per click advertisements on your internet site? If your most important objective is to provide information based websites on various niche subjects, then encore, the presentation is secondary to content quality. Content commands so far as the web is concerned. Incorporate Adsense advertisements with your original content, and you will have a winning website. It is feasible to design a pair quality sites manually using one of the off the ready-made HTML software packages like FrontPage, on the other hand why spend your time on the laborious task of building the site when you can procure some application that essentially makes it for you. This would allow you to focus on exposing more profitable niche markets which you could take advantage of by creating more auto web sites. You need fast results, so you should check out PPC Loophole if you want to make serious cash using PPC advertising.
.

So you want to get your online business up and running but theres one small problem you want a websi

So you want to get your online business up and running but theres one small problem you want a website! For any business, large or small, a professional web site is crucial if you need to draw in potential customers or clients and create a solid foundation for continued success. But many of us have no ideas how to go about the method. Fortunately , its basically quite straightforward to get a functional, well designed and accessible internet site online in a reasonable period of time. And depending on your particular situation and budget, there are many options available to make your business goals a fact.

the first possibility is to hire a designer. If you’re willing to invest a good amount of cash into the initial stages of developing your business, hiring a professional website designer or website design company should be something to seriously think about. The job will cost thousands of dollars ( if you hire a reputable designer ) but all of the pressure and work will be on someone elses shoulders. Spending a lot of cash right at the beginning of your enterprise may seem a little dodgy, but compared to other business endeavors the pricetag and risk are minimal. And the amount of money you have the potential to make after your internet site goes live will far outweigh the sum of money originally invested in its construction. Also, if you expect a professional job, hiring a professional is the best way to reach that target.

A designer will consult with you re what you need in a site a straightforward basic website, flash-based design, and ecommerce sites are the most typical. You will also discuss form, functionality, color range, graphics, and other vital points. Often content can be procured thru your website designer also or you can fulfill your content needs after the basic web design is completed. In the end, hiring a website designer offers you a lot of flexibility and gives you the facility to fully customise your website in all sides of its design.

Do it Alone

If you dont have the cash to spend on a good website designer or you think its pointless for your purposes, theres no reason why you cant create the website yourself. And this option is applicable to everyone even if you know nothing about HTML or web design. Of course, if you do know a bit of HTML – or are willing to put your nose to the grinder and scour the web and your local library to learn HTML – you can certainly build an internet site from scratch. But these days there are more methods to make your own business website without struggling with HTML or a costly designer.

web site templates, as an example, combine the professional design skills of a seasoned web designer with the cost-effectiveness of doing it alone. Templates are ready-made net pages that a designer or design company sells for a small sum the cost is so low simply as the template can be resold repeatedly again. In addition, if you purchase a website template that wont be resold after you buy it the cost will rise but still ends up being much more affordable than working with a designer one on one. The cost is kept relatively low because, although the template cannot be sold to another person, the design was already made and the buyer agrees to get it as is.

When you visit an internet site selling templates you are given the freedom to flick thru a big choice of different styles of internet site designs. When you find the perfect match for your business you purchase and download. All thats left is to edit it using a simple HTML editor to add content, graphics you want it. One such website template company I revealed that offers top quality, fairly priced templates is TemplateDogma ( see the link in Resource Box ).

The final choice is to use an internet web site builder to do the job. This type of program holds your hand each step of the way so that you can build a website without knowing anything about PC languages or design methodologies. Even if you use a WYSIWYG editor it is feasible to get lost along the way, and as mentioned above, templates do require modifying after you make the purchase. A website builder is the only option that basically automates the whole process. You won’t be able to customise every side of the site, as templates are often part of the procedure, but adding content, footage, charts and tables to the site is made totally trouble-free.

As you can see, there are many alternative ways to build an internet site from the bottom up. In the final analysis, select the option you suspect will lead you down the path toward net success and youll be happy with the results.

.

Which comes first, the domain name or the site? Points to consider before starting

Everyone in the business will have their own opinion on which to do first, register domain name or build a website first. But one hand washes the other, my friends. At some point you want to secure your domain name, and of course you want to get the most out of your site for the months/years the name is registered. My advice would be have your domain registered and website started with-in the same months. And as tempted as you may be to tell the world about your new project, keep it to yourself or only between those who are actively working on helping you launch your site.

Digital Hammers and Wrenches

There are many tools available for website building. There are just as many online user generated guides available in the use of these tools. If you are already an elite website building professional this guide is not for you. All the experience you need is basic word processing skills and the ability. Otherwise you can search for more resources on Google or other preferred search engines. Many times just using “HTML”, “JavaScript”, or “How do I… ” as search tags in Google returns the bits of code I tweak to use on my site. You can always visit your local bookstore if you prefer a manual on hand to refer to. Now, in lieu of the series title, I use is two great website building web apps. Both are what we refer to as WYSIWYG. Described this means what you see on your screen is essentially what you’ll get on the finished product. From real hands-on use you will see that this is not always the case though, but it comes pretty close.

The two sites I found most useful were Moonfruit and Webnode. There are other applications, even as simple as a text editor like Notepad, that you can use. In using a web app I am able to access and edit my work from any place with internet access. Obviously the limitation would be not having internet access, but welcome to the new century! Now, due to the nature of how these site builders work, they have their strengths and weaknesses. Moonfruit is flash based (www.nestorsanchez.info) and Webnode is HTML/CSS based (www.mentalgearunlimited.com). Flash based sites are very, well, flashy. But if your goal is to have the sites found easily by search engines, you may want to lean towards the HTML/CSS based site. This practice is actually highly suggested by SEO groups.

Keep it Simple

Keep your site simple. This means do not add more clutter than necessary. A common mistake that many new comers to the practice make is cluttering their homepage. Your homepage is also known as the landing page. I recommend you to keep this as simple and clear as possible not only for aesthetic reasons. This is the first page most search engine bots will crawl first and gather most of the key words found. So make the best use of your homepage. Notice the site www.mentalgearunlimited.com created through HTML/CSS has a couple of images and a brief description on its homepage. The verbose information is separate on the “about us” page. Remember, less is more!

Now, there’s always the possibly that you don’t care if search engines index your site, or deny them access altogether. This si fine when you are not as concerned with people being able to find you through searches. Instead, when you include your personal/portfolio website on resumes, business cards, social sites you want to cater to a more specific audience. You can show your art to potential clients through a digital art gallery. You can have a video you produced available for streaming. You can have a directory and listing of sample work done for previous clients. Just remember not to share too much personal information. Last thing you want to do is give out your physical address, phone number, social security number, or any other sensitive information that can easily be provided to people you truly need to share it with!

Here’s a neat little tool to help you have a better idea how crawlers see your website. Visit tld-tools web crawler tool and run your website through the query window. Most important is the title, description, and keywords of your site.

Nothing would please me more if this series raises your enthusiasm to build pages beyond hobby purposes!

Becoming an Affiliate: Essential to Remember, Take These Steps!

Now that you have decided to become an affiliate congratulations on your decision!

You are on your way to become financially independent and you are on a track many have taken to become wealthy with using little more than wits and the power of the Internet. Before becoming an affiliate there are few basic steps and some important things to remember.

“You should consider link building techniques and link swapping techniques. To get your URL on to other sites where more people can find it”

Affiliate Step One: Building a Website

It is important to build a website if you do not own one yet. It is important to own a website with fresh content. This content should be updated from time to time. There needs to be something that makes people come back. It is important that visitors come back. The content should be the main issue why they return. For example if your site provides a mortgage loan calculator then this should be the attraction for visitors to return. You can insert a feed that provides fresh content.

Affiliate Merchant Step Two: Finding a Good Affiliate Program

Now you will be in need for an affiliate programs like http://live247support.com/affiliate.php to partner up with. Be thoughtful that the products on the affiliate program need to be relevant to the products or services you are promoting. Then compare the payment methods (does the affiliate program pays per click or per sale or per lead). Ask your self how much it does pay. And do some research how successful the affiliate program is.

Affiliate Merchant Step Three: Directing Traffic

Traffic is important. Without traffic there is no profit. To get traffic you should consider link building. This can be writing articles and submitting into article directories. Write fresh content for your website and make the visitors return. You also can swap the links with other web masters.

Have a Nice Day!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this summer I’ve gotten into designing and building website

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this summer I’ve gotten into designing and building websites. Now, at the beginning of the summer, I had no previous experience at building websites what-so-ever. The very first time I started, I used iWeb which is extremely basic and easy to start off with. But if you want any kind of control and want to go into any detail at all, it becomes useless pretty quick…

I then started researching, through the power of the inter-highway, for an alternative that would still keep things at an understandable level but allow me to learn more and more and go into more complex things as I went along. Then I found Rapidweaver.

Rapidweaver is truly the perfect tool, you can make a very simple website with the templates that are given, but you can also go into much more detail by customising the HTML and CSS and more. It’s very affordable and there are loads of fantastic plug-ins from third party developers that make the website creation even better. I’ll be posting more on the plug-ins in future posts, but I’d just like to mention one great company called YourHead.

YourHead is a company that solely concentrates on making plug-ins for RapidWeaver and does an amazing job at it. Namely, the plug-ins Blocks and Stacks, two of my favourites They are such powerful tools and again easy to use but allow more complex work too.

There are also some great third party developers for new themes to use. I personally like starting from blank, literally. For that I use a theme called BlocksBox, which allows me as a building to design everything myself from scratch. There are some very useful tutorials on the website, so just check it out if you’re interested.

The great thing about Rapidweaver and everything around it, is that it’s all so affordable. Rapidweaver itself is just $79 (Adobe Dreamweaver is $399) and it is so simple and user-friendly. Some people just don’t need/want to go into as much detail as Dreamweaver offers. I mentioned a few posts ago, a program called Pixelmator, “the alternative to Photoshop”, well you can see Rapidweaver as the alternative to Dreamweaver, in my opinion anyways. Also, all the great plug-ins are very affordable too. They vary in price from $5 – $25 (mostly) and after that, updates are free (until a whole new version number comes out: eg. v 1.x = free updates, v 2.x = new license needs to be purchased).

So to sum up, it’s a great application with great power and I’ve learned an awful lot from it. I can now even read and edit some CSS to customise my websites even more and get everything to work and look exactly the way I plan. And in addition to that, the plug-ins and themes that third party developers keep creating and updating, makes it even more worthwhile. If you don’t want to build a website as complex as for example, Amazon.com, then Rapidweaver is definitely worth looking into. Just download the demo and have a look for yourself.

For the past few weeks, we have been working inclass in Digital Portfolio with Adobe Dreamweaver attempting to do some custom site building.

First, we had to design a logo (already done for me) and a color scheme for our sites off of Kuler.

The color scheme I orginally picked was called TOOL Remix. But I did a little work and adjustments myself to create my own custom color swatches.

While our sites are far from finished (as we still have a lot to learn), here is a preview of what I have done so far:

The natigation on the site has roll over tabs (which turn red when hovered over) that allow the user to pick other pages to view images.

I had already photographed some last year as part of my Editorial class and looked forward to tackling jewelry again.

Since then, we have already photographed and updated her website with the new images. However, as you will see, it is currently a mixture of my photography and ones taken by an employee. The goal is to eventually update the whole site with all new images (in fact, I will be taking over the design and updating of her website if all goes well).

Here is some of my favorite images from the shoot!

No special software is needed to upload your HTML files or images. Everything is provided for you for the $9.99 per month price.

There is NO long term contract. Pay for 30 days at a time.

Of course you will have to come up with a domain name, which is NOT included in the $9.99 price. You can register your domain name with GoDaddy through this company at no extra cost.

The total cost to you for the frst month will be $24.94, if you also have to register a domain name. That price includes the first month of web hosting.

Detail steps explained below :
Minimal system requirements:
Divine 0.5.0 version was developed as the plug-in for the popular editor Photoshop.
This is why minimal system requirements straightly depend on your Photoshop version’s requirements.
Step 1
Launch your Photoshop editor. (We have Version CS3). As you can see, Divine item has appeared in the editor menu.

Step 2
Open template ( Click to Download )

Step 3
After the template is loaded, launch the Divine plug-in.

Step 4
Next, we must assign the main roles to our template’s elements. Creating the elements blank parts of the template in advance and assigning roles to them, you assign the styles to all those elements at the same time.

Step 5
Additional elements assigning. To create a valid page you’ll need additional elements besides the main ones. To do that, highlight required elements and assign UserItem roles to them. After that we can assign links to them and change their ID.

Step 6
New theme creation and publication. After we assigned all necessary roles to the elements, we can set to creating a theme. All we need to do that is press Publish. And if your account is set correctly, the theme will at once be uploaded.
(See detailed instruction on profile settings in the chapter Documentation. Interface. Menu)

Step 7
Activate your theme and enjoy the result. After short and easy work we see the result.

I am undertaking a new adventure. This will take much knowledge that I already possess, but I also

I am undertaking a new adventure. This will take much knowledge that I already possess, but I also see that I have a few things to learn, most likely by trial and error, before this project is presentable.

For quite a while now, my mother has insisted that I take my grandfather George Wood’s sermons and make a website where people can easily download them. Many people have sat under his preaching and been impacted. His preaching changed the course of many people’s lives, according to the stories that he and my mother have told me.

Back in the 1970’s, my grandfather moved his family from Australia, to Wichita, KS in the middle of America to pastor a church in downtown Wichita. That church was, and is, Central Christian Church. What was a withering urban house of worshi would be transformed into an overrun downtown church. I have heard tales of how Sunday morning was incredibly busy. In between the three services, people would trample over each other to grab a good seat.

The messages of the man whose leadership shaped the Christian character of so many are what I need a website to host.

My first order of business will be finding a web-hosting service and choosing what kind of website I would like to have. When someone visits the site, I need them to arrive at a nice welcome screen with a nice link to go into the sermon directory. The next page will contain a list of sermon series that my grandfather has preached along with a short description of when they were preached and on what subjects. After choosing which series they would like, they will be directed to a page that lists every sermon accompanied by a brief, one-sentence description of it. Finally, they click the link on the sermon they would like, and the visitor will be directed to a page that has a full description of the sermon, about one-paragraph long, and a link to download an mp3 file of the message which they chose.

This is the navigation I would like. I am considering using WordPress or PHP-Nuke. I am looking for something easy, affordable, and easily customizable. If you have some input on this subject, please leave a comment below.

I’ve got my recording equipment going. I have a few tapes from my grandfather’s Sunday School class that he teaches from 2005. The quality isn’t the best, but this is because of the recording onto the cassette. I recorded a Neil Diamond cassette onto my computer, and it sounded great. If you have any tips on audio editing for this type of thing, again, please leave a comment below.

This is what I will be spending my free time doing before I go off to college.

I wonder how many people set out to make their own website and have failed. I imagine the number is staggering. From personal experience I know it can be tough to get going.

I’ve wanted my own site for a few years and even tried a couple times to make one, but I wanted to do it for nothing. I tried a couple of those free site builders and never got off the ground. There may be some good free site builders, but I didn’t happen to get the luck of the draw.

Then I came upon a site builder that cost about $300, but it helped me step-by-step to get my site up and going. It helped with the:

Topic of the site, and it had tools to determine if this was a good choice based on supply and demand of keywords in that area. I didn’t even have a clue about this before.

How to write webpages

How to build traffic to the site.

The analysis of each webpage to be sure the search engines would index it.

How to monetize the website with pay per click ads, affiliates, e-books, etc

The money for the site builder may turn some people off, but if you really want to get a site up and going and want it to be a success than this is a very small amount.

Even the free sites are not free. There is a hosting fee, website name charges, etc. All this is included in the price of the site builder.

To get my site up and going I paid the $300 for the site builder and less than $20 for a couple of directory submissions.

If you are considering your own website, please check out this site before you waste a lot time on other things that might not help you:

I hope this is of help to you. Please let me know if I can answer any of your questions.
