From what I am able to determine, Zoho Notebook is another Web 2.0 Tool that is available to help students, adults, or anyone that is doing research or looking for a new online tool.  It seems as if you can create pages, books, enter data, verbally record information, import files, pictures and so much more.  With all of the technology that is available in the newest available programs, this appears to be free of charge for those willing to work with the basic version.

It seems to be a great way to organize and create a network for sourcing and keeping track of progress made during research.  From scanning through and signing up for an account, I was able to check out a few of the features, that also seem to be available in the Word Office Suite and other programs similarly designed for student and adult interaction.

Students that may benefit from this web tool are those with a reading or writing disability.  It is easy to record and manage content without writing, because the system has a built in recorder.  I could see this being an important tool for an extremely slow writer too.  Students that aren’t overly organized may also benefit, as they are easily able to adapt and organize notes at a later date.  The final groups this will probably work well for are those collaborating on group work or projects, as it is able to adapt almost any format written format into it, such as Word, Works, or other web-based tools.  Students can be very creative and create many projects without having the capability to only work in school.

Der Typetester ist ein praktisches Online Tool  für Webdesigner um verschiedene Fonts/Schriftarten “live” auf dem Bildschirm zu testen und miteinander zu vergleichen.  Die verschiedenen Fonts werden ständig aktualisiert und beinhalten sowohl Windows- als auch MAC-Fonts.

Eu adoro mapinhas, inclusive participo de um mapinha muito simpático feito no começo desse ano pelo pessoal do Xiscando, sobre as agências digitais aqui no SimViral.

Esta semana eu vi em vários blogs, esse mapa da malha viária de pontocoms que o Google Adquiriu nesses 11 anos de vida. e de uma década que eu estou fora de moda*.

E parece que o frisson do momento é o Google Wave, se você ainda não ouviu falar nele, relaxa que ainda irá, bem ou mal, mas irá…

Sabe aquele negócio de mandar um anexo com arquivo de trabalho para um colega ou cliente e fica na história sem fim da troca de e-mails, seguindo em paralelo com instant-messages, planilhas  e as 300 versões de download do mesmo anexo com pequenas mudanças que a gente tem que fazer download, ver/testar/mudar e mandar de volta?

Então, o Google já tinha criado aquele vício excelente do Gmail de agrupar conversas, a segunda revolução do sistema de e-mails depois da invenção do Outlook; agora eles querem eliminar as 30 milhões de cópias do mesmo e-mail com um ambiente colaborativo em que se mantém um original que vai sendo mudado pela ferramenta web em tempo real, misturando Youtube, Picasa,  Docs e o Gtalk.

É o conceito de projeto, já familiar em ambientes corporativos e para a galera que usa o Project da Microsoft, que estava se metendo a funcionar em rede (não do mesmo jeito, claro) ou qualquer outro similar.

Parece que o que o Google (e os investidores) pretende, é desafogar os servidores da bagunça e espaço perdido com duplicatas de mensagens, arquivos e etc escondidos nas mesmas mensagens agrupadas que a gente adora, que também consomem incontáveis terabytes diários dos servidores (mesmo que o CVS também consuma espaço, a organização fica melhor).

Além disso centraliza tudo num aplicativo só.

Quebrando o hábito de publicar um beta eterno das ferramentas e ir “arrumando” até ficar usável, (como aconteceu com o blogger, gmail, orkut, calendar, docs e etc) o Google segurou o  beta para programadores, designers, influentes e etc para ver a repercussão, corrigir bugs e adicionar funções antes do lançamento oficial.

A mesma empresa que ficou bilhonária e ensinou todo mundo a ir fazendo as coisas como dá, agora está querendo seguir os trilhos de instituições mais rígidas como a dona Microsoft, Apple, etc…

Mudanças de comportamento empresarial dizem muito sobre a saúde de uma empresa.  Se houve mudança de diretoria por exemplo, toda a organização interna é afetada, o que pode alavancar ou destruir um modelo de negócio, imagine um açougueiro cuidando de uma sorveteria? . Modelos parecidos com o de outras empresas mostram também quais são as expectativas de futuro e dos investidores.

Ao mesmo tempo, essa seleta-porém-enorme equipe presenteada como “beta-tester” vem reclamando sobre instabilidade do serviço, assim como aconteceu com o beta do Yahoo tumblr Meme.

Claro que existem uma onda de ver quem fala mal primeiro sempre que surge um novo hype, é um comportamento previsível e esperado mas gente: é Google mas é B-E-T-A e não daquele tradicional beta que estamos acostumados a usar.

my laptop isn’t well.  last wednesday in the midst of a technology meeting my hard drive decided to go on strike and it seems no part of the cpu is willing to cross the picket line.  i called in the job to the help desk, but it hasn’t been looked at yet, more than likely that will happen monday or Tuesday.  oddly enough, i was leading a session at a school the very afternoon that it died.  i also had a session two days later.  both of these sessions were technology intense with some presentation tools and other tools to help the flow of the sessions and most people, who hadn’t backed up their hard drive in the past 3 months would have panicked, but i didn’t have to.  don’t get me wrong, if the hard drive isn’t able to be saved (i’m saying a silent prayer and crossing my toes as i type!) i’m going to lose documents, pics, etc. that is going to be a bit of an inconvenience and will create lots more work for me to recreate, but all and all i’m safe for a very simple reason…i have embraced the cloud.  my team uses a wiki where we house our presentations, documents, pdf’s and the like that we all need access to.  true, i may only have pdf versions of some word documents that might be tough to edit, but it sure beats having nothing!  likewise, many of the webtools that i have been using for presentations (prezi, wallwisher, issuu to name a few) afford me space to keep them on their server, so once again i’m safe.  i don’t mean to make light of this potentially very sad situation, but because i didn’t put all my eggs in one basket, i was able to take care of business.  we all have witnessed someone losing EVERYTHING when their hard drive crashes, right?  we all look at each other and say, “man, i’m going to back up my stuff”, then learn from that very unfortunate situation.  hopefully you can do the same from this.  while my situation doesn’t have the same ending, i recommend you embrace the cloud as well.

I like Google Docs. I am a member of the Truman Committee for choosing books that make the list that students get to vote on to receive an award from Missouri Association of School Librarians from the hundreds that are published each year. Members of the committee submit names of books that are put up on a spreadsheet that each of us is able to access. We put in the score that we give each book after we read it.  This way each person who reads a book does not have to email all the  members when we feel a book is worthy to be considered for the award. We just email the person responsible for putting up the names and score any books already on the list that we have read. At least 2 members must read all the books that get added to the list so the spreadsheet gives the chair of the committee a quick way to see how many people have read each book.
With Google Docs you can create spreadsheets, documents and presentations. You can share and collaborate in real time. Several people can work on the same document.This site safely stores and organizes your work. You get to control who sees your documents. You can upload existing files or create new ones. Nicenet is a wonderful tool to use in the classroom.  The site is similar to a blog, but more secure and offers more gadgets.  I have used this site for four years and have had success each time.  In one project students post questions and responses based on the books they are reading.  With this particular project, students’ names are shown, but in some projects, I allow students to remain anonymous.  This allows students who might not otherwise stick their neck out and ask a question to do so.  One thing to be careful of is the web address: be sure the students type in nicenet.org and not .com, as they will end up at an inappropriate site.

Der Color Palette Creator erstellt 10 weitere Schattierungen/Abtönungen der gewählten Ausgangsfarbe.

Die erste Reihe mischt den Basisfarbton mit Weiss, die untere Reihe mit Schwarz. Benutzerdefiniert ist jeder beliebige Farbton wählbar, mit dem der Basisfarbton gemischt werden soll.

hab ich übrigens mit dem Webtool Mindomo hergestellt (hab nur mal die Demo ausprobiert, weil bubbl.us, wo ich schon registriert bin, anscheinend gerade down war ), mit Evernote (ein absolut tolles Teil!) einen Clip- Screenshot gemacht, den kopiert und in Paint eingefügt und abgespeichert.

Evernote ist ein Notiztool, mit dem man direkt aus Webseiten Teile herausclippen und abspeichern kann. Auch für jede andere Art von Notizen ist es geeignet. Man kann sich einen kostenlosen Account anlegen und darunter mehrere Notizbücher verwalten. Es gibt eine Software für den PC, die sich mit der Webseite synchronisieren lässt. Auch über den Handybrowser (leider nicht über Opera mini) hat man Zugriff, und für manche Handys (leider nicht für mein S60- Betriebssystem) gibt´s auch offline-Software. Ich nutze es richtig viel, sammle Ideen und Links damit.

Alle diese Tools sind in der Grundversion frei, man muss sich nur registrieren.

Students in the regular classroom often have planners to tote around from class. Sometimes they have en electronic planner rather than a paper one, which is nice because you can set it up so that events reoccur automatically. Better still is to use an online planner like Remember the Milk. Remember the Milk lets you set up all your tasks and events, have them autorepeat, and because it is online you can access it from any cell phone or computer.

Remember the Milk is extremely easy to use! Once you sign in to Remember the Milk, you just click on the add task button. You can put a time with it if it is a scheduled event, or you can leave the time off and have it be a to-do item instead of an event. All of the to-do items are sorted alphabetically, so if you want them sorted into categories you can use the priority buttons to color code them or you can add symbols to the front, like inserting a # in front of every school task and inserting a ^ in front of every home task. To get the task to reoccur, just put a checkmark in front of the task and then click “repeat” on the right side of the screen. You can also tag different tasks, or if you have friends with the same tasks you can get them on Remember the Milk too and then share tasks with each other. There are lots of other features, but these help out most with schoolwork.

To access your task list, you can sign in to Remember the Milk’s website from any computer or cell phone. Remember the Milk is also set up to work with you Blackberry or iPhone, or if you have a gmail account you can set it up to have your Remember the Milk list embeded right next to your inbox. But you can also make the task list come to you. If you have an iGoogle home page, you can add the application to make Remember the Milk appear there. You can manipulate your list from any of these places, so it is really easy to stay on top of your responsibilities. Being able to check off items from your task list will motivate you to work harder and you will be less stressed.

とか言ってるけど知り合いに身バレしたくないだけ。

（8）会社の人には絶対に言わないでおきましょう。
激しく同意。特に転職率が高い私は、すぐに付き合いが切れることが多いので言わない。
mixiのマイミクで失敗したと思ってるので。

参考にしたエントリーが「隠フェミニスト記（仮）」さんなので、それに対してのコメントみたいになってしまいますが
まぁ、私はこういうスタンスですよと言う事なので、否定とかそういうんじゃないです。

Twitterにはコミュニティが無いのが醍醐味。
これには同意。mixiみたいに足跡つかないから見るだけでも気にしない。
足跡つくのって「見てるのにコメント無しかよ」と思われるんじゃないかと気を使う。
つってもコメントする事なければしないけど。

ただ、まったく興味が無い分野の人達はフォローする事ないからなんだかなんだでジャンルは偏るかな。
興味がある分野にいる人をフォローしたら情報入ってくるの早いし。

「ひまだから新宿ぶらぶらしてる」とかつぶやいていたら「おお偶然。近くにいるじゃん」と
直接携帯に連絡してみたり、とかできるから。「いまなにしてる？」をつぶやいてくれてオッケー。
「リナカフェなう」に近いか。

私は、つぶやいてる相手自身に興味があればフォローするので、思ってることポロポロつぶやいてたら嬉しい。
相手の日常が魅力的かどうかは受け手が判断する事であって「俺の日常って魅力的だからつぶやくぜ」という人は私は嫌だなｗ
どこに住んでいようが、何してようが、相手が魅力的だと思えばフォロー。

ようするに･･･、
○つぶやきたい事を自己判断で好きなだけつぶやくがいいよ！それを見て気になれば誰かがフォローするし。

○ずーっとフォローされなくても気にしないなら続ければいいし、寂しいと感じたならアピールする場所を変えればいいよ。

○フォローされても変に気取らず、それまで通りつぶやくがいいよ。今までのを見てフォローしてきたんだから。

Ich bin ja vor einer Weile von slidestar zu slideshare gewechselt, weil es ohne Benutzungsaccount bei slidestar keinen Zugang zu den Folienpräsentationen gibt, die ich explizit aus diesem Grund dort hochgeladen habe. Wie gesagt, leider stand diese Funktion seit geraumer Zeit nicht mehr zur Verfügung.

Bei slideshare (dank auch nochmal an mari*, durch den ich u.a. darauf gekommen bin) können alle problemlos und ohne eigenen Benutzungsaccount die präsentationen anschauen – sogar ohne extra auf die seiten von slideshare zu wechseln, da ich diese in meinen weblog einbinden kann.

Und seit heute gibt es eine weitere tolle Funktion bei slideshare – das einbinden von youtube-videos in die folien!

Hab ich dann auch gleichmal gemacht …. die youtube-videos zur Quantenphysik bzw. die jeweiligen Experimente zu Zufall, Unbestimmtheit, Beobachtungsabhängigkeit und Verschränkung können nun dirket im (bereits geposteten) Vortrag zu Barads Agential Realism angeschaut werden.

Med Google’s seneste omstrukturering og følgende lukning af visse webservices, deriblandt det forholdsvis populære og for nogle helt afgørende værktøj, er det måske tiden til at se på, hvilke alternativer, der findes. Her begynder jeg dog at arbejde mig ind på den knap så ideologiske grund, da mange af disse alternativer, er bygget op sammen med et program til OSX, Windows eller Linux. Der følger dog til alle et webinterface med og strækker det så langt, som til at kalde det et webtool.

Min personlige favorit er Evernote. Evernote’s logo er en elefant, ikke fordi det er tungt at bruge, men fordi det simpelthelthen husker alt. Jeg blev aldrig en fan af Google Notebook, men Evernote ville jeg aldrig kunne undvære. Det tager imod alt, webudklip, pdf, billeder, scanninger. Og det bedste af alt, er at alt er søgbart. Selv dine billeder, så knips et billede af, hvad som helst, og læg det i din virtuelle tilføjelse til din hjerne. Men en video er bedre end 10.000 ord, og her en kort intro til nogle af de bedste features.

Et alternativ kunne være Snipd. I virkeligheden nok et alternativ, der lægger tættere på Google Notebook, dog med visse tvists. Der er en kort videopræsentation her.

Lifehacker har en god kommentar, der beskriver, dels nogle alternativer, og især er der nogle rigtig gode ideer til, hvordan man redder sin data fra Google Notebook, og dermed bruge dem i det program, man kaster kærligheden over efterfølgende.

En vigtig lektie; er dog at ingen værktøj er sikre, ikke engang Google’s. Derfor er det mere end vigtigt, at man dels har alternativer, og dels sørger for at lave et backup af ens data i cyberspace. Jeg ved da i hvert fald, at det første der kommer til at ske nu, er en backup af min Gmail.
