Wednesday roundup: Marlies make it three over MonstersNovember 25, 2009

  Wednesday’s AHL Boxscores

TORONTO 4, LAKE ERIE 1
Rookie forward Viktor Stalberg netted a pair of goals as Toronto took a 4-1 win over Lake Erie on Wednesday afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum. Troy Bodie scored the game-winner for the Marlies, who beat the Monsters for the third time in six days and improved to 4-0-0-0 against Lake Erie on the season.

Stalberg gave Toronto a 1-0 lead with a power play goal at 10:16 of the opening period, and Bodie made it 2-0 at even strength just 3:42 later.

The Marlies padded their lead on a second-period marker by Alex Berry – his first professional goal – and a third-period power play strike off the stick of Matt Beleskey.

Lake Erie finally got on the board when Chris Durno potted his team-leading ninth goal of the year 7:10 into the third stanza, but the Monsters fell to 1-6-0-1 in their last eight outings.

Darryl Boyce chipped in a pair of assists for the Marlies, and rookie goaltender James Reimer (6-1-1) made 25 saves to earn the victory. Reimer was the winning goaltender in all three Toronto wins over the Monsters during this recent stretch.

ALBANY 4, SYRACUSE 2
Albany scored twice in the first period and twice more in the second to double up visiting Syracuse by a 4-2 count at the Times Union Center.

Jerome Samson notched his team-leading eighth goal of the year for the River Rats, who also received markers from rookie Matthew Pistilli, Chris Terry, and Jamie McBain.

Rob Hennigar chipped in two assists in his Albany debut, and Rats goaltender Mike Murphy earned the victory with 30 saves in net as his club beat the Crunch for the second time in a week.

Bates Battaglia netted his first goal of the season for the Crunch, and second-year pro Maksim Mayorov also found the back of the net. Syracuse dropped to 1-4-0-1 in its last six contests.

  MANCHESTER 3, BRIDGEPORT 1
A three-goal first period sent Manchester on its way to a 3-1 road win over Bridgeport at the Arena at Harbor Yard. The Monarchs improved to 2-0-0-0 against the Sound Tigers this year and have outscored them 5-1 in the two contests.

Manchester’s Geoff Walker scored his first career AHL goal just 39 seconds into the contest to put his club on top. Jesse Joensuu responded for the Sound Tigers at 5:50, but Corey Elkins quickly restored the Monarchs’ lead 1:08 later.

Kevin Westgarth registered his first goal of the year for the Monarchs at 13:39, and neither team scored in the second or third period.

Gabe Gauthier chipped in two assists for Manchester, and goaltender Jonathan Bernier (9-5-2) earned the victory with 29 saves in net.

The Monarchs (13-6-1-2) halted their brief two-game losing skid and reclaimed sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division, two points better than Lowell.

WORCESTER 3, SPRINGFIELD 2
Rookie forward Logan Couture broke a 2-2 tie with a power play goal at 3:40 of the third period, sending Worcester to a 3-2 road win over Springfield at the MassMutual Center.

Couture, drafted ninth overall by San Jose in 2007, netted his sixth AHL goal of the season and extended his scoring streak to eight consecutive games (6-8-14).

Sharks defenseman Mike Moore registered a pair of assists, and rookie goaltender Alex Stalock secured the victory with 25 saves. Worcester has now won three straight games – all by scores of 3-2 – on the heels of a seven-game losing skid.

The Bruins fell into an early 1-0 hole but then got goals from Kirk MacDonald, Drew Larman, Jamie Arniel, and an empty-netter by Brad Marchand en route to the victory. Providence goaltender Dany Sabourin earned the win with 24 saves in net.

Arniel extended his goal-scoring streak to an AHL season-high six games (6-5-11), while MacDonald now has a goal in four straight contests (4-0-4).

Providence moved to 4-1-0-0 in its last five games and climbed back to the .500 mark overall at 10-10-1-0.

Defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti and AHL scoring leader Corey Locke each posted two assists in the victory, and Hartford rookie goaltender Chad Johnson earned the win with 22 saves in net.

Patrick Davis originally gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a power play strike at 9:30 of the opening period.

WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON 3, NORFOLK 1
Tim Wallace scored twice and was plus-3 on the night as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton dropped visiting Norfolk by a 3-1 count before 6,082 fans at the Wachovia Arena.

Wallace scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season just 1:47 apart in the opening period, with ex-Admiral Wyatt Smith picked up an assist on both.

Juraj Simek brought the Admirals within 2-1 with just 16 seconds to play in the first frame, and it remained a 2-1 contest until Smith extended the Pens’ lead 33 seconds into the third period, capping off a three-point night.

Luca Caputi registered two assists for the Penguins, and goaltender John Curry stopped 20 of 21 shots in the winning effort.

Aeros goaltender Anton Khudobin stopped all 26 shots he faced to earn his ninth victory of the campaign (9-4-0) and league-leading fourth shutout.

The Bulldogs, who visit Lake Erie for a pair of games this weekend, suffered their first shutout loss of the year.

CHICAGO 3, GRAND RAPIDS 2
Chicago rallied for a pair of late second-period goals and held on through a scoreless third to post a 3-2 win over visiting Grand Rapids at Allstate Arena on Wednesday.

Chicago’s Tim Stapleton and Grand Rapids rookie Tomas Tatar traded first-period goals. Stapleton registered his 12th goal of the campaign, moving him into a tie for second in the league.

Goaltender Peter Mannino (3-0-0) stopped 25 of 27 shots in net for the Wolves, who won their third straight game and improved to 10-3-0-0 in their last 13 contests.

The Griffins lost for just the second time in their last 13 outings (11-2-0-0).

ABBOTSFORD 6, PEORIA 2
Abbotsford kicked off a four-game road trip with a 6-2 win over Peoria on Wednesday at Carver Arena. The Heat reached the six-goal plateau for the third time this season and snapped their three-game winless skid (0-2-0-1).

Riley Armstrong netted a pair of goals for the Heat, Carsen Germyn and Garth Murray each posted a goal and a helper, and Abbotsford also received scores from Kris Chucko and defenseman Keith Aulie.

Dan Sexton and Brian Salcico each picked up single assists on Pettinger’s goals, which helped Manitoba snap a four-game road winless skid (0-3-1-0). The Moose have now earned a point in five straight games overall (4-0-1-0).

Yesterday was one of the most wackiest days i have had…not that i have not had as bad but some

Yesterday was one of the most wackiest days i have had…not that i have not had as bad but something in recent memory beats..here it goes anyway..

i had worn some good clothes to office since i had the meeting with the VP..not that i wear bad clothes but usually what i wear is what ends up on the top of the heap of good clothes….hehehe..the way it turned out…in the bus one of my frens took one look at me and commented abt the combination i had worn..and too boot i have worn the same combo lotsa times b4..harrumph…reached office at usual time and got down to business after a quick breakfast..by 10 30 am when i was abt to leave for coffeebreak my manager pinged me abt some google site i was developing and which i had mentioned to him..i told him that i had completed much of it but some content was left and he asked me if i cud show it to him post lunch and i mentioned that i had a meeting or rather power break with the VP…so he suggested a time arnd 4 30which promptly splashed water on my plans of scooting early from office after the meeting..sheesh…

my team mates with whom i was supposed to leave by 12 30 for the meeting so that we cud catch up with some lunch as well..got stuck with last minute work and we left by 1 and had to ask the cab driver to drive a little faster….hen we were travelling we happened to miss a turn and realising this our driver braked hard…many people yelled t him and ranted and abused obscenely..we reached the meeting by 2 pm when schedule was set for 1 45 but it so happened that it started after we joined …the meeting began with a customary round of introductions and after a quick 15 min update..he opened the forum for Q&A session..everyone started asking questions abt projects, promotions, onsite and so on and we somehow ended up at 4pm a good 40 mins after schedule…since i hadnt had lunch…like other team mates..we grabbed a quick lunch of egg sandwich and juice and returned to office by 5pm…this time with no untoward incidents…
after reaching office, i went to my manager if i cud show him what i had done and he said we l have it tomoro…hehehe…i was feeling let down..now i had to be in office for another hour before the bus left….somehow i managed to finish some arbit stuff i was planning to do..sent a few important mails as well..and promptly at 6 15 winded up my days work and headed off..in the bus i shared a packet of biscuit i had bought a lil while earlier with Kit and Ram..and after a while i got back to catching up on sleep since i was feeling bad…that is when mom called to ask what time i was reaching home and when i said 7 45..she cut the call..when i reached home..i got to know that i had to accompany dad to a fren’s daughter’s reception and since mom wasnt going i was to go…

the venue was in mission road and so dad decided to drive down there..only to find out major traffic jam ..meanwhile i was chatting with tgp and somehow we ended having a bet abt what time i wud reach home..and i had claimed i ll reach by 10 30 pm…we reached the venue by 8 45 and after standing in the queue for a while we started off towards the dining area..there was a separate area for veg and non veg ..the non veg section smelled delightful and i expected the same from veg as well only to end up with a menu of puri, pulao, rice and curd rice while non veg guys were having atleast 2 types of biryani…..hmmm…after all this the only thing that made me smile…i managed to reach home by 9 57 pm hich meant i won the bet..hahahaha..that made my day somehow.. i guess whenever i m happy i have to be grounded …..sez who..till next post..

Thanks for asking…No Paula. (They have stopped mentioning it…I suppose I should too) Thi

Thanks for asking…No Paula. (They have stopped mentioning it…I suppose I should too)

This week the Judges had the task of cutting the the top 12 to make the Top 10 (and a job for next year, touring the country), Cat took a piece out of Donny Osmond’s personal collection, wearing another ‘mirrorball trophy’ outfit.(guess we know what the Oscar trend will be…)

Here’s the rundown:

Bottom Three couples- Victor and J-LO (not a surprise), Mollee and Nathan (a pleasant surprise) and Ballroom Ryan and Ellenore (a nasty surprise!).

Each dancer completed a solo, wherby the contemporary dancers ALWAYS outshine (is Mia Michaels secretly backstage creating solos for them?) and the Ballroom dancers look like they are missing something…oh right, a PARTNER! At any rate, Ballroom Ryan made an intelligent costume choice (full shirt or open chested vest…hmmm) As the judges deliberated, Shakira recycled her AMA performance, as the REAL dancers looked on wondering if they would ever be desperate enough to be back-up dancers for her—a sad reality.

Results:

Girl- Ellenore is too cool, Mollee is (still) too cute, J-Lo goes home (fell on her bum! …sorry)

Guy- Ballroom Ryan is ….Ballroom Ryan, Nathan should be in Twilight, Victor goes home.

Is there such thing as Vegas bets for reality shows? Because my track record is pretty impressive (yes, I will toot my own horn, as irritating as it may…). Here’s what I’m looking forward to next week: Mollee and Nathan forced to dance with ADULTS, the prospect of Ballroom Ryan dancing with Wifey, Russell continuing to point his toes and wear tight-high-waisted pants, and the weekly item of suspense…Paula Abduls career.

Many things. Below, you will see the list from my last post, with the completed tasks appropriately marked. I have to say, I’m pretty proud of how well I’ve done, at least when it comes to the house! I’m working on the things for class too, but have not made the progress I’d LIKE. But I have made some, and that’s better than nothing.

Wash clothes – done. And brought them to the laundromat because the clothes HAD to be washed like NOW because of a small mishap with thawing the turkey, and the clothes in Mt. Washmore were the only things to soak all the water up (the towels too, but the clothes helped A LOT!).
Pick up floor – done
Pick up garbage – done
Vacuum – done
Sort P’s toys – done (I’m proud of this, it’s usually the kind of thing I DON’T get around to!)
Sort and bring down old toys for my nephew (to be) – done (same as above)
Fold clothes – done! I swear, I’ve never folded clothes faster than I did at the laundromat!
Get rid of game consoles
Dishes, dishes and more dishes – down to a few things from today, plus the glasses!
Weave in ends of baby blanket
Work on response paper – some—a start on part 1, not sure WHAT I’m going to do for the rest. I’ve got to find a way to watch the movie!
Research for debate on torturing terrorists – started! yay!
Do Social Statistics exercise

Also, I managed to:

Make a good grocery list for food
Go get groceries
Bring paper to be recycled
Bring sorted toys not to be handed down to Salvation Army
Make up the brine for the turkey
Make 2 apple pies

I think that’s it. I’ve been busy. I think my house looks pretty good I plan on taking the rest of vacation, after Thanksgiving, doing work for class.

I haven’t written anything since Monday night. It makes me sad. I hit a wall, which makes me feel real sad. But I’ll get through it. Sometime soon I’ll be able to make up all those words! I know I will!

Sometimes the “Hockey Gods” show you good favour…other times they smite you. After

Sometimes the “Hockey Gods” show you good favour…other times they smite you. After a devastatingly undeserved loss in OT last game…The Leafs garnered HALF the shots…but the outcome was (finally) a different story!

Result: Leafs 4 Islanders 3

The Good:

Rookie Gunnerson got 3 assists, helped on 3 of the 4 goals

Leafs NEVER got behind, they lead after the First period, second period and (obviously) the third.

Leafs scored 2 goals BEFORE the other team scored.

Hagman scored 2 (pretty, not ugly/lucky) goals, and had at least 3 good shots at a Hat-trick.

Kessel is becoming a face-off guy…winning 9 of 10.

Leafs have now had more than 30 shots in the last 6 straight games…

The Bad:

After scoring 2 goals and looking to cruise through the first, Leafs cough up 2 quick goals in 30 seconds…ugly.

Gustavsson needs to work on handling the puck better–If Tampa Bay had been a smarter and more observant team, they would have been able to capitalize on a few more bad rebounds.

Kessel DIDNT score.

As you can see, there were FAR more positive elements in this game for the Leafs than bad, which usually spells a win for a half-lucky team, but the Leafs have had some BAD Karma lately. But with a Sens and Habs loss…if the Leafs could get on a roll and win tomorrow night and saturday…they could be right back in the hunt for a playoff birth in a badly unperforming Eastern conference.

Next try: Tomorrow night vs Florida, LEAFS TV (boooo…)

hi. it’s wednesday… day before thanksgiving. Imma nom turkeys tomorrow, guzzle sparkling cider, crumble cornbread, get killed by little children, all that jazz. You know how it is… well… TBK probably doesnt. cuz… your not american…..

that just got awkward. TWO holidays in the same month is weird TBK.. so no.. the proper time IS NOT october. halloween is in october.

so… i WOULD update you all on my awesomely sad and depressing weekend, BUT.. every person that actually participates has already heard my story. the other two losers with swine and grounding problems are gonna have to wait to hear how horrible my weekend was. Its hard. I’m getting through it, and hopefully i’ll be stronger in the end.

ANYWAISE… I got into the school play!! YAYA its the wiz. im in the ensemble.

I gave up on NaNoWriMo for obvious reasons if you know what my story was about.

December is going to be busy. I’m performing with my singing group.

If any of you two people know ken… that ken guy is pretty fly for a white guy. he goes to teh grocery store… and does rebellion things… like buy bbq fritos instead of get turkiesz and thanksgiving stuffsz.

Im convinced bad luck is following me everywhere. EXAMPLES: bfrand being douchey and not being clear about our “break”

monday i was walking to school at 6:30.. and this big crazy psycho foaming at the mouth ravaging evil deathly growling giant coyote thing jumped out of the bush in front of me. (when i say big crazy psycho foaming at the mouth ravaging evil deathly growling giant coyote thing? i mean… skinny small coyote FYI.) it ran in front of me and ran across the street and towards the bay. where it belongs. IT WAS STILL TERRIFYING THOUGH!!!! DONT HATE. i jumped… i didnt scream.

and then yesterday… walking home from school, doing mah thing. A giant ass mother-fucking rabies infested scraggly hairless evil black cat jumped out of the bush in front of me. (when i say giant ass mother fugging rabies infested scraggly hairless evil black cat i mean scary skinny black cat FYI.) walked across the sidewalk in front of me…. hissed, then preceded to walk BACK across the sidewalk and back into the bush.

….im serious. this shit happened. all after i lost my key necklace. like… really? IM ON A SEARCH FOR MY MISSING SPECIAL KEY NECKLACE. FUGG MY LIFE.

anyone wanna help in the search? awww pew.

tomorrow night me and the family are hitting the beachsz till saturday… i wont be online cuz our condo doesnt have interwebsz connectorsz. so… IM DEPRIVED.

Happy thanksgiving everyone!!! (besides tbk)

PLAN A: Japandroids, Surfer Blood @ The Casbah (early show-7:30 p.m.). Canadian fuzz-rockers Japandr

PLAN A: Japandroids, Surfer Blood @ The Casbah (early show-7:30 p.m.). Canadian fuzz-rockers Japandroids have had a pretty good year on the strength of their debut, Post-Nothing (check out CityBeater Sammi Skolmoski’s cool article about them), but it’s worth showing up extra early to this early-evening show for Surfer Blood (above)—south Florida youngsters that somehow combine ’60s good vibrations, garage-rock and even Dinosaur Jr.-style indie rock into something all their own. Expect them to be headlining this time next year. PLAN B: The Old In Out, Shapes of Future Frames, Sus Hijos @ Radio Room. Sweaty garage-rockers The Old In Out have proven to be one of the hardest-working bands in the local scene (check out some of that cool video below). Both opening bands feature members from the headliner, and judging by the Future Frames show I saw a month ago (featuring Gary Hankins from Scarlet Symphony on vocals), these guys know how to spread the talent equally. PLAN C: Linnzi Zaorski @ Bar Pink. For those of you who want a more mellow Thanksgiving Eve experience, check out this gorgeous jazz chanteuse from Louisiana. We did a story on her not too long ago (you can read it here) and I’ve been thanked by many a person for turning them on to her. Hopefully, the True North douche runoff will stay in their designated douche areas. BACKUP PLAN: Immovable Objects, The Hundred Days, Mexico City Rollers @ Ruby Room. I have a feeling every San Francisco hipster worth his fixed-gear mettle shuns The Hundred Days for sounding just a bit too much like The Killers and U2. Don’t be afraid. Pop wants to be your friend.

MORE COOL STUFF:

Rifat Ziadeh @ Voyeur. The last time this guy gigged at Voyeur, he played an electro remix of Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothing.” I didn’t really know I wanted to hear that until I did.

“My, What Big Cans You Have” feat. DJ DeVoy @ Side Bar. OK, OK. Despite the name and the location, this is a pretty cool event for a Wednesday night. They’ll have a hosted bar from 9 to 10 p.m. for anyone who brings in two canned food items for local food banks, and DJ DeVoy will be on the wheelz of steelz. If anything, a fantastic and altruistic way to start the night before heading to…

“Jivewire” @ The Casbah. This every-month-or-so dance party featuring DJ Atari is probably the only night when non-scenesters are tolerated and Casbah bartenders have to make something more complicated than a vodka and tonic. In any case, it’s sweaty, it’s dank and if you can’t hook up here, then you must not be a good dancer.

“Fall/Winter Drink Menu Unveiling” @ El Dorado. The El-D wants some feedback on their new cocktail menu and everything on the list (and there are some goodies–check out the menu here) is only $5 all night long. The “Buster Brown” certainly caught my eye.

DJs Gabe Vega, Adam Salter, Saul Q, Shark Attack @ Beauty Bar

Café Tacuba @ House of Blues

DJ Mario Orduno @ Whistlestop

Buckfast Superbee (acoustic show) @ Vin de Syrah

The Dickies, Systematic Abuse @ Brick by Brick

Buck-O-Nine, Skanic, High Tide @ Belly Up

The Stalins of Sound, 357 Magnum, Chango Rey @ Ken Club

“Commune Wednesdays” @ Soda Bar

“Broke $oul Night” feat. DJs Selectakon, Cota Pop @ Tin Can Ale House

Eve Selis, Tim Flannery @ Anthology

1. Effort

2. Results

3. Reward

The Man let me lie in till 7am. ”Well done for staying in your bed again Son 1!” I beamed, as I went downstairs to where he was eating his breakfast. He beamed back. “I’ve got a sticker. And I’m eating two breakfasts.” ”He’s already eaten a pancake,” said The Man. You will remember yesterday that Son 1 aged 5y 2m had four stickers to go on the breakfast line of his sticker chart. This morning he had two. Hence the bowl of cereal as well as the pancake. You will also note that this process would not stand scrutiny by the Electoral Commission. At some point yesterday, an extra sticker was stuck on the breakfast line. It wasn’t me, and it wasn’t The Man. We don’t care; Son 1 has never in his life stuffed himself at breakfast time. Yes I know, all your children tuck in gratefully to rolled oats and wheatgerm with slivers of dried apricot and ground linseeds sprinkled on top. Ours have Coco Pops Moon and Stars because we have tried EVERYTHING to get Son 1 to eat before he goes out for his 10-hour school day. Sometimes he can’t be bothered to add milk and eats a few dry from the bowl. Sometimes he doesn’t touch them, and drinks the chocolate milk they make after soaking. And now he eats two breakfasts. Hooray.

Son 2 aged 2y 2m and I went to the Town Pool for a swim with the Wednesday Mums. Really good. I do like swimming with small children. It’s so easy and stress-free. The water was cold, so Son 2 headed for the Bubble Pools. I’m a bit wary of these, as there was a lot of “spa baths cause scarlet fever” anecdotes pinging round when Son 1 was ill. But Son 2 loves them. He was playing with a green sea horse. I took my eye off him for a couple of seconds. “Where my see ‘orse?” It had vanished. ”I don’t know, where is your sea horse, what have you done with it?” I looked over the side into the swimming pool. I peered into the foaming depths of the bubble bath. I squinted along the channel running round the outside. There was a gap in the cover. We went back into the big pool and I told a lifeguard. Two of them dismantled the filter and found the sea horse. Son 2 had posted it through the gap. He swam, he played with a surf board, and he was a joy to be with. After an hour we all got out and went for a coffee in a hotel. The boys were all horrible, climbing over sofas and running up and down. We consoled ourselves with the thought that things would have been much worse with the elder three around.

The Man collected Son 1 from school, because we were meeting Elder Brother and Nanna for pizza in Town. The phone rang. Son 1. “Daddy hasn’t brought my Gormiti Egg.” “Oh dear,” I said. “It was Daddy’s job to get it.” “He says he didn’t know it was his job.” “Silly Old Daddy.” We agreed they would head for the other end of Town so they could get a Gormiti Egg. I’d push Son 2 in the Big Pram to see if he would sleep, and we’d see Nanna and Elder Brother in Pizza Express. I pushed, Son 2 slept, we met the others. Son 1 turned up with his Gormiti Egg. £6. I thought it was like a Kinder Egg. Oh boy. I am being seriously out-classed here. Son 1 ate his food, Son 2 woke half way through and cried and grumbled. Elder Brother is leaving very early tomorrow to get to the Aged Aunt’s funeral. The Man and I were planning to drop Son 1 off at School and then drive over. We have booked Wonder Nanny to do tea, bath and bedtime. Elder Brother says it could take six hours to get there. Oh boy.

In the spirit of not wasting during this Thanksgiving season I wanted to share a quick DIY tip. Remember when I wore this skirt I hemmed a couple weekends ago? Well, I took the excess and stitched up the side I cut creating a circle scarf! I threw it on over a babydoll dress and some oxford-esque shoes straight from 1993 and headed to the office for a half day before the holiday. I saw there was a doublescreening of Clueless and Mallrats this weekend. I am telling you, the 90’s is on a hot streak!

We’ve made it back again to “Hump-Day” (mind out of the gutter please…) and

We’ve made it back again to “Hump-Day” (mind out of the gutter please…) and another stellar TV line up attempts to make waking up this morning…better! Can it top last night’s Osmond win, SYTYCD performance show or Allen voted off Biggest Loser (to be followed closely by an appearance on Leno) ?

Let’s take a look at what I’m watching tonight:

Biggest Loser: Where are they now? - Can you imagine the stress of a) competing on the Biggest Loser b) living through months of personal workout sessions (the 9th ring of hell) with Jillian, and c) completly exposing your biggest weaknesses (inner demons, darkest secrets and “daddy issues”) on national TV…all to NEVER be safe from a “drop in” or check up (wonder if that was in the fine print of their contract…)? That makes for GREAT TV…and it’s all happening tonight!!! Beware former competitors, y’all better not have any ice cream in the freezer or pizza take-out on your speed dial…Because your favourite trainers (devil’s henchmen) will be susprising you with a visit and revealing your ability to “stay on track” and “keep it off”…for millions to watch (judge). Tune in for a full 2 hours of entertaining success stories, and the occassional falling -off- the -wagon interventions, tonight at 8pm on NBC.

SYTYCD Results- A great show last night, but 12 becomes 10 tonight! My favourites from last night were: Ballroom Ryan and Ellenore, Wife of Ballroom Ryan (Ashleigh) and Billy Elliott, and Russel (minus his partner, she was pretty, but I cant remember her…) Legace and Noelle had a solid first dance, but came up slightly short on the ballroom…but Legace did not wear a shirt and he showed his soft side (swoon) by crying– smart, very smart.

Predictions: I predict the bottom couples will be JLO and Victor, Mollee and Nathan and Russel and…his partner. In the end, I think the judges will then choose to send home JLO and Victor. Both have been in the bottom before, and both have faded into the background after starting very strong…judges are ALL about “growth”…that is what I foresee for the evening, but I will NOT be betting any useful body part or member of the family on that. Results tonight on FOX/CTV 8pm

Leafs vs Tampa Bay- what happened to Tampa Bay? They used to be such an exciting team (much like Chicago this year), with young, fast, Canadian boys like Lacavalier , St Louis, Stamkos, Tanguay and Downie…they should be dominating every game (isnt that the kind of game the “new” NHL predicted would succeed?) But lately they have not lived up to their talent…sound familiar? The Leafs are in town tonight, and after a big confidence boosting win at home against Washington, followed by a kick in the pants loss to the Islanders…what team can we expect to show up tonight? If the team continues to shoot from anywhere and rack up an insane shot total…eventually one or two will go in…and there is no Roloson on this team to steal a game. Tune in for another bottom-dweller duel tonight, TSN 7pm.

Other shows to try:

Dragons Den on CBC -Seriously, this is a very entertaining and intelligent show…A Canadian production, which has recently been copied in the States under the moniker “Shark Pit” (produced by the KING of Reality TV, Mark Burnett…)…but we do it better! So tune into CBC for it’s Gemini Award winning reality show where wanna-be inventors and entrepreneurs vie for money and a chance infront of 5 rich business minds. CBC 8pm

CSI NY- If you arent a fan of Horatio…This is a good option for you! CSI is the best in Police Procedral, so don’t let an eccentric red-head throw you off the wagon…The NYC version of the 3 city franchise is grittier, and has a better accent than it’s Vegas and Miami counterparts. Tune in tonight, CBS/CTV 10pm

Whatever you decide to watch, have a great TV Night.

Jesus said, "What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How many times do I ha

Jesus said, "What a generation! No sense of God! No focus to your lives! How many times do I have to go over these things? How much longer do I have to put up with this? Bring the boy here."

Matt 17:17 (MSG)

You will notice that this verse comes from the same passage as the verse for Monday. What was going on was that some people came to Jesus and told him that there as this demon posed boy, and they couldn’t get the demon out. They wanted Jesus to do it. They thought it was to hard for them.

We see a different Jesus than we learned about in Sunday School. This is not the lovy dovy Jesus what says everything is fine. This is a God who can and does get mad at His people when they refuse to get it. Jesus knew that they had not really tried.

Before they even started, they thought it was too much for them. They did not have the faith. Also, they did not see this as a problem because Jesus would always be around to do the hard stuff for them. This is why Jesus was mad.

He wanted them to step out and do the hard things. He wanted them to take a risk. He wanted them to put their faith into action. He wanted them to trust that God would give them the strength to do what they were commanded to do. He wanted them to grow up.

Consider This…

Are you taking the easy way out of life? Are you waiting on other people to do the hard things for you? Are you still acting like a kid?

Pray that God will help you to grow up. Pray that He will give you the courage to do the hard things.
