This event brings a unique experience to our small beach town, that many aspiring ballerinas could only dream of about.  Rhythms Dance Academy, located in Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach, is having free pictures with the Sugarplum Fairy.  On Friday, November 27th from 4 – 6 pm, head over to 710 Arnold Avenue before the Christmas Tree Lightning and get a picture with this classic Christmas Fairy. 

  Rhythms Dance Academy will be having its second Holiday Show on December 20th, 2009 at 1 pm.  This show is put on to raise funds for Make A Wish Foundation.  All students participate in this special performance that also includes a Chinese Auction.  100% of the proceeds go to granting a wish to a child.  The first year proved to be a great success for the fundraiser and is a nice afternoon out with the family, for a good cause during the Holiday season.

   Git’ Fired Up in Point Pleasant Beach is hosting its 4th Annual Paint A Free Ornament with Santa! event.  On Sunday, November 29th from 1-5 pm, stop by the pottery shop and receive one free ornament per person to paint(no purchase necessary).

The H1N1 Swine Flu virus knows no borders,has no boundaries, and has absolutely no respect for religious or cultural traditions.

This year at the annual Hajj to Mecca,  Four foreign pilgrims have died of swine flu, the Saudi Health Ministry announced on Saturday.

The Saudi Arabia Health Ministry  said none of the four foreign victims had been vaccinated against the H1N1 virus, as has been recommended by The Health Ministry.

An official statement released by the ministry said all had underlying health problems, including cancer and respiratory illness, AFP news agency reported.

Three of the victims died in Medina and one in Mecca.

The BBC is reporting that….up to three million Muslims from around the world take part in the holy pilgrimage every year, but health officials have expressed fears that it could provide a breeding ground for the virus.

Authorities had tried to prepare for any outbreaks by installing thermal cameras at airports and sea terminals, deploying 15,000 additional health workers and ensuring hundreds of extra beds were available.

The Hajj (Arabic: حج‎ Ḥaǧǧ) is a pilgrimage to Mecca. It is currently the largest annual pilgrimage in the world,^[1] and is the fifth pillar of Islam, a moral obligation that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so. The Hajj is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people, and their submission to Allah (God).^[2] The pilgrimage occurs from the 7th to 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar. The Health Minister has reported that there are 16 other people that have been diagnosed with swine flu and four remain in hospital in “critical condition”.

He added 12 others had recovered following treatment.

The Saudi government has recommended the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic diseases and children skip the Hajj this year.

The Saudi government has said all pilgrims need a certificate of vaccination before they can apply for a visa.

This is real people, and this disease is spreading worldwide,at a rapid pace.

I encourage everyone to get a H1N1 swine flu shot as soon as you can.The reports of any side effects are exaggerated, and will cause millions of people to perish from the lack of the vaccine.

Any paranoia surrounding any alledged complications from the shot are totally unsubstantiated, and if those people out there insist on not receiving the vaccine, then we as a society should only expect more mounting mass casualties from the swine flu, as exhibited this weekend, unfortunately in Mecca.

If it can happen in Mecca, it can happen anywhere.

Please everyone, wash your hands, and go get the shot.

  “You better watch out.  You better not cry”(I hope my boys are reading!)…Santa Claus is coming to Point Pleasant Beach!  The Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting.  And what better guest to help kick off the Holidays at the Beach than Santa Claus.  On Friday, November 27th at 5:30 pm, join the Chamber and local businesses on Bay Avenue for thetree lighting and Santa’s big arrival by fire truck at 6 pm.  

    Once Santa has safely arrived, there will be free pictures with the jolly guest at Ocean County Music, located on Arnold Avenue.  Point Pleasant Beach Fire Companies 1 & 2 will be giving complimentary fire truck rides for all to enjoy.  The evening will have “refreshments, Karaoke, horse and carriage rides, and live music by Ed Austin and Backstage Entertainment“.  There will be a drawing to win 1 of 6 bicycles presented by Cara Realtors.  All winners must be present to claim prize.

Hello reader!As this is just my meet and greet first post I’ll leave this as short and sharp as possible to avoiding unnecessary ramblings.

This is my own little blog space which I will be sharing my ‘metaphorical never ending basket of goodies’ with you! I will be featuring all things Second Life, but focusing mainly on fashion and to share my personal styles and views on in world happenings. I may even give you an insight to my hectic real life if you’re lucky.
