We passed through Westside  Radio yesterday to check our pals Dj No ID & IC4… The show was big, although the studio was HOT, as apparently Beenie Man had broken the air conditioning in there during an over-zelous interview on the station!

We are literally putting the finishing touches on an interview montage from the last few weeks, it will be up here by the weekend! Make sure you check it out 4 an interesting insight!

Apoligies to those of you who locked in last week, our appearence on Westside was cancelled @ the last minute, due to illness, but not all is lost, as you can catch us on there tonight!

Its a straight up UK Hip Hop show, so expect an in-depth interview & of course some freestyling too…

We’re just in the process of editing a lot of the interview footage/freestlyes from the various radio stations we’ve attended over the last few weeks & will have it up in the next couple of days! So keep your eyes peeled for that!

I spent an hour today being interviewed by the lovely Carla Battista at Westside Radio on her community show.  We covered a wide range of topics including the current campaign to get more police officers in Ealing, local democracy week, the £1million youth fund, school places and even the US elections. I enjoyed myself and it was an interesting experience – anybody out there in blog land hear it?

I’m often asked to define what I mean by “social media”.

Here’s what I came up with in the heat of a live radio interview with Pooja on Westside Radio on Friday. (skip to minute 30:30)

Social Media is editorless content prioritised by popularity.

It is articles and programmes that have been published by individuals directly to friends and the rest of the world without going through an editor.

The filtering and prioritising role, traditionally done by an editor, is achieved by monitoring the popularity of the article. The more people that read it the article, comment on it, agree with it and pass it on – the higher that article appears in the list of social media items.

A great way to see this process in action is at Digg where you can see the headlines ordered in terms of popularity by all the members.
