We have good word that the sun will be shining on 20th July, perfect for our Summer Extravaganza party!

First off enjoy a canape and champagne reception on our Terrace with a live jazz band playing as the sun shines in the early evening.  Wine tasting with Matthew Clark will then begin alongside a fantastic BBQ from our award winning chefs.  Later head down to the Lower Deck to enjoy more live jazz, hit up the dance floor and sample our cocktails!

Bristol’s attractiveness as a good place to set up and run a business is highlighted in the new edition of the Bristol Business Guide.

The guide features over 5,000 Bristol companies and promotes the goods and services they provide. It also sets out the advantages Bristol has to offer to prospective national and international companies wishing to do business or invest in the city.

The Guide will be launched next Tuesday (27th) by Bristol City Council Leader Barbara Janke at a major business to business exhibition in the city.

The Federation of Small Businesses Best of Bristol Business Exhibition at Ashton Gate has over 140 companies from a diverse range of business sectors taking part. It is the fourth event where the city council has joined forces with the FSB and Best of Bristol to showcase Bristol businesses.

Cllr Janke said: “The guide is a popular and practical way that the City Council can support business in the city by showcasing the depth of expertise and capabilities across a wide range of sectors. It also makes the case very strongly that Bristol is a great place to set up and run a business for prospective investors both in the UK and abroad.”

Guy Kingston, Chair of the Bristol branch of the FSB, said: “Collaborations such as the FSB’s with Bristol City Council really do make a difference to the local small business economy. The new directory is an excellent initiative and along with the business to business trade show is testament to the difference organisations such as ours can make when we work together.”

The Bristol Business Guide features a CD Rom directory of companies. The newest exhibition at View @ Harvey’s Cellars is Jubilee Art, celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The exhibition opens on the evening of the 31st of May.

Definitely worth a look and they do yummy cocktails there too!!!

Give them a call on 0117 9294812 to book a table if you want to indulge with a few cheeky pre Jubilee weekend cocktails, munch on their British themed tapas menu (Can you really do have British themed tapas?!) and chill out to some live music vibes on Thursday!

The event starts at 2pm (yeah not much notice I know, but I’ve been seriously busy!). There’s a full days line up and they have stages both indoors and outdoors at participating venues, perfect for unpredictable May time weather.

The full day event is free before 6pm. After 6pm you will need to purchase a wristband, £8 in advance or £10 on the day, the wristband allows you entry into all the participating venues. Line up are said to include some of the regions well known and top DJs and live acts.

Participating venues include Lakota, Blue Mountain, The Croft, The Bank, Full Moon and Attic to name a few.

The public will have their pick of over 60 different venues which will be open to showcase work of 150 different artists, performers, musicians.

Venues are open between 11am and 6pm on both the 19^th and 20^th of May.

Finally this year there is also a treasure hunt incorporated into the trail, with 100 objects hidden in the venues in the trail. So get yourselves down there and get hunting!
