Once the familiar formation of rocks appears in his line of his vision, Wally lets himself go. He lets the overwhelming feeling of relief bloom in his chest and knows the first thing he’ll do is tell Rob how fast he was going. He plans on sweeping into the kitchen as Megan finishes baking cookies and give her a kiss on the cheek, plans on introducing the classic movies to Supey (The Breakfast Club and then Singin’ in the Rain) and plans on assuring Aqualad that running is his safe haven.

His security blanket. If he didn’t know how his speed works, he’d lie to Kaldur, then he wouldn’t be Kid Flash. He knows that once he bluffs, Robin will give him that knowing look (one that knows Wally is freaking) and they’ll discuss it away from the team.

But first off, he collides face first into the side of the mountain.

You don’t get another best friend. You don’t get another person who basically knows everything about you, knows your flaws and insecurities, was the first person you trusted and who always had your back. 

YOU DON’T GET A RELATIONSHIP LIKE DICK AND WALLY’S. Not once it’s gone. Dick’s never going to have a relationship like that. The trust and their dynamic. 

What’s Dick supposed to do? You can’t get a new best friend. At least not one like that.  That’s not how it works.

And that’s what’s breaking me.

~ No one else will be the first person he told his ID to … no one else will be friends with both Robin AND Dick since he was 11. It’s so nice to have something special like that, though. :’(

A/N: I should be in bed right now, but I had to write it.
Summary: It’s been one whole year since Wally has died, but somehow, he’s made it back, and he is ready to fix the broken bird he left behind. Wally/Dick. After Season Two.

To say Wally was fed up was an understatement. He was fed up of being constantly watched over, to have to give more blood out for testing (he was beginning to think Batman was actually a vampire or something) and was really fed up as being referred to as a ‘clone’. Now he really knew how Connor felt. He sighed, sitting in his make shift room in the Watchtower – more like a small prison – and waited for someone to bring him some food. A speedster had to eat, after all.

He had been back for… a week? Something like that. And all he really wanted to do was go home and see Dick. Not explain over and over again that he honestly had no idea how he was back, but he was and that’s what mattered. His uncle had informed him in a shaky voice that it had been a year since his apparent ‘death’ but it had felt like a heartbeat to Wally. One second he had been telling Barry to tell Dick he loved him, and the next? Crash landing next to the Flash museum, with no idea of what had just happened.

A small knock on his door shook him out of his thoughts, sending Barry a small smile as he came through with a tray full of food. “Hey kid, thought you would be hungry after giving half your blood away.” His uncle’s voice was light, the way Wally remembered it. That was a change – the whole week it had sounded strained, as if he was physically stopping himself from getting his hopes up that Wally was actually back.

The Totally Essential Travel Collection of ‘Where’s Wally?’ – Mainly I bought this as in America ‘Wally’ is known as ‘Waldo’ and I’ve always wanted a ‘Wally’ printed version!

Butter by Erin Lange I bought for my friend Alli – she’s currently undertaking her PhD in psychology and has spent the past year working with eating disorder patients. I thought she’d find this book particularly interesting. 

This month I supported the Liverpool Street Station WH Smith bookstore. Things have been in a bit of a rush and it was the best I could do. I enjoyed the bright yellow theme this month though. May everyone have a happy Easter/Passover!
