The Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA) is a membership-driven professional organization for accountants working in the state of Wisconsin. Founded in 1905, the WICPA today includes over 8000 member accountants, all of whom are CPAs working in public accounting, corporate accounting, government, education, or the non-profit sector. The mission of the WICPA is to uphold the high standards and integrity of the accounting profession in Wisconsin and to provide a network of opportunities in continuing education, peer review, and community service specific to accounting.

As a professional advocacy group, the WICPA also maintains relationships with federal and state regulatory agencies to promote the best interests of Wisconsin-based CPAs. WICPA’s public policy committee holds fundraising events throughout the year, the proceeds of which sustain a political action committee in the Wisconsin legislature that helps influence legislative and regulatory decisions to protect CPAs and their clients in Wisconsin.

Terry Gaouette is a Wisconsin business owner and management consultant offering nearly 30 years of expertise in niche business accounting and strategic planning. He is a CPA and a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
