When you have to go to hospital, don’t you just WISH for a vicodin popping, abusive genius wit

When you have to go to hospital, don’t you just WISH for a vicodin popping, abusive genius with a limp for your doctor?! Okay, maybe not, but it certainly makes for good TV viewing!

The show House stars actor Hugh Laurie as Dr Gregory House, the abrasive, insulting, sometimes cruel genius of a medical diagnostician. At this point, we are up to series five with series six about to air – and let me tell you: I’m totally hooked! House is not just another medical show like E.R. and the like, but a brilliant show about one man and the impact he has on the people around him. Greg House is a Doctor like no other – he is completely politically incorrect, sometimes so disconnected from people that he treats them like dirt for their show of humanity, but makes up for it with acerbic wit, obsession to diagnose patients, intelligence which is so focused its awe-inspiring and a rebellious nature which just makes his character fun to follow. He is a maverick in the true sense of the word.

The character House works at Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital as the Head of Diagnostics, and for the first three seasons had three Doctors on his team whom he abused, taught and challenged into being better doctors. They then all quit, being replaced by a new team, with Foreman (From the original team) coming back into the fray while his other former teammates continued to work at the hospital in different roles. House’s boss, the Dean of Medicine Dr Cutty, is the only person who is ever able to reign House in, but often by trickery due to the fact House follows no rules other than his own. Cutty and House have a sexual tension that dances through the plotlines, never quite turning into anything (Yet!) but adding a scintillating depth to their characters tug of war over right and wrong. House’s only friend is another Doctor at the hospital, the head of Oncology, Dr James Wilson who is almost the opposite of House. Wilson is caring, decent and thoughtful. The friendship makes no sense and yet they both need each other, play off of each other, gain strength from their friendship.

With all of the players now in place, let me tell you a little bit more about the show. Basically, every episode introduces a new medical case in which no one can diagnose what is wrong with the patient. House will only take on the most interesting or bizarre cases, and doesn’t care much for the patients themselves. His main goal is ascertaining what ailment the dying patient has and treating them. Quite often he breaks ethical rules to gain this insight, pushing his team to work alongside him. House is brilliant, and picks up on things that no other Doctor would ever notice. He saves people in the most fantastic ways, and comes across illnesses and complications which just boggle the mind. It makes you really appreciate the amount of things that can go wrong with the human body, I’ll tell you that much!

It’s not easy – Even House gets things wrong. Due to his cases being so difficult, sometimes the diagnoses are wrong. Sometimes this is because of the circumstances surrounding the patient, wether they have lied to him, wont let tests be done or freakish environmental factors. Sometimes it’s because of House’s state of mind, or that of his team. Wilson and Cutty spend a lot of their time trying to keep House in check, for the sake of the patients and the hospitals reputation, but also to look out for House himself. Despite his acidic nature, they care for him, and even though he doesn’t quite accept it himself, he cares right on back. It is a startlingly dark look into the human psyche, into pain and suffering. These characters make you think, make you laugh, make you cry. They each have their own personal demons, their backstories which unfold across the seasons. In each episode you learn another little piece about every one of them, you understand their motives more and you marvel at the brilliance of each medical case and what they bring to it.

This series isn’t about heartwarming moments (Although there are a few), it’s about the darkness in life, in sickness and self hatred, but finding a place within that. Finding a reason to BE. The acting is flawless, the plots absorbing. It is never boring, always insightful and totally addictive. I highly recommend it to anyone with an attention span. You wont “Get It” if you don’t follow it closely. You wont understand its REAL brilliance unless you catch on to the undercurrents. But man, this show is so worth watching. Hugh Laurie is one of the best actors ever, and his character House is a surly, selfish genius that you cant help but love. House is safe in my top five shows EVER.

Description (page 121)

If you are interested in any of these files then please contact the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick.

“The documents in this series were kept by two brothers, William Henry Street and John Ambrose Sherman Street, who were born in Burton, Sunbury County, the sons of Hon. Samuel Deny Street and Abigail Freeman. They were educated at public schools in Burton and Fredericton.

William Henry Street was born April 11, 1793. After completing his education, he engaged in the mercantile business in Saint John. He was twice mayor of Saint John (1835-1836 and 1848-1849) and served in the militia. In the General Election of 1842, he ran for Saint John City and, after protest, was awarded the seat. He sat until the dissolution of the House in 1846 when he retired from politics. W.H. Street was married twice: in 1824 to Mary Bruce, and in 1847 to Sarah Boyd Orr. He died in Saint John on April 4, 1875.

John Ambrose Sherman Street was born September 22, 1795. He studied in his father’s law office and was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar on February 22, 1817. He practiced law at Chatham, Northumberland County, and in 1823 married Jane Isabella Hubbard. He was elected to the Assembly as a Conservative member for Northumberland County at a by-election in 1833. He sat in the House almost continuously until his defeat in 1856. He then moved to Fredericton and unsuccessfully ran for York County in 1861 and 1865. He was made a member of the Executive Council in 1851, and served as Attorney-General until 1854. He died in 1865.

The Street Records pertain to the legal and business affairs of the brothers. The material is catalogued alphabetically according to client’s name. The types of documents found here include: indentures, deeds, declarations, bonds, assignments, correspondence, and leases. The material dates from 1812 to 1863. This series measures 9 centimeters.”

About ten years before Emilio Wilson died,

I used to spend a lot of time visiting and chatting with him at his home which is now called ‘The Emilio Wilson Memorial Park’. The old timers might remember Emilio, a flamboyant extroverted figure, but even at that time, and to this day, very few people of my generation and my mothers generation really knew who Emilio Wilson was.

Being driven down LB Scott Rd as a child, I had often wondered what the story was behind ‘Golden Rock’, ‘St John’s Ranch and Emilio Wilson.

One day my curiosity got the better of me, and I walked to his front gate, marched up to his doorstep, and introduced myself.

There was some fear that he would chase me away, but I figured if he did, no one would know about it.

I told him who I was, but more importantly who my family was, and he was polite but ambivalent.

I explained to him that I was a writer, and was determined to find out the story behind his home and how ‘Golden Rock’ got its name.

The first thing that struck me about Mr Wilson, was that……………

well…….let’s just say he was very prim and proper.

I remember thinking to myself as a teenager, “could he be…?” “Nah!”

I loved everything about Mr Wilson, from his personality to his thigh-high poom-poom shorts.

Mr Wilson had GREAT legs. And he knew it!

He would invite me in, and give me a soda.

He would then flutter around tidying up, which was funny to me since his house was always immaculate.

He would sit down and cross his long, smooth legs. As a teenage girl, he actually taught me a few tips, about maintaining the smoothness of my legs.

Embarrassingly enough, this teenage girl could never get her legs up to par with this ninety year old man.

Mr Wilsons memory was long as his flawless legs, and he loved to show it off. There was not one date that you could name in his lifetime that he could not tell you specific details about.

Another thing that I loved about Mr. Wilson was that there was always a lot of sarcasm, and a little bit of bitchiness in whatever historical, personal or political tale he would be telling.

His favorite thing on earth was the perfume “Poison”.

He loved “Poison”, and actually at that time if you wanted to be in Mr. Wilsons good graces, it was known by insiders to present him with a gift of “Poison”perfume. It was a part of his daily beauty ritual, He would “singe” with his “Poison”, meaning who would basically rub it on his legs to singe away the hair rather that shaving which he felt destroyed the skin.

He singed the hair on top of his hair rather than cutting or clipping it. The strong chemicals in the perfume would remove the top layer of his hair, he told me that it was how the old-timers did it.

Whenever I entered Mr Wilsons yard, I somehow felt like I was in that book “The Secret Garden”, we would sit down on his porch and discuss history and of course gossip.

Often as we sat chatting, people would visit him to check in on him-he was getting on in age, and they would exchange pleasantries.

No one seemed to notice the young girl in the corner, patiently sitting and absorbing everything that was being said.

I wasn’t usually noticed, because these men tended to be older businessmen and politicians. They didn’t see me, because they could only see Mr Emilio Wilson, and the reason that they could only see Mr Wilson, was because he had something that they desperately wanted……..

Land, beautiful land.

Lots of it, prime property, and the hilarious part was, Mr Wilson knew it, his brain was as sharp as a stiletto.

As soon as the politician or businessman left, Mr. Wilson would make the cattiest comments about them.

So being a gossipy, teenager I would ask him questions, and each question would lead to another epic tale.

As a budding writer at that time, I of course started documenting my visits and our conversations in my journals. From historical facts, to stories about St Maarten politcs and more.

It’s been several years since Mr Wilson has passed on.

I’ve visited the park, but nothing’s the same.

The last time I visited the park was a weekend, a few months ago.

On one side of the park were kids playing in inflatable pools, and running around after each other, just like Mr Wilson would have wanted it.

On the other side of the park were the brand new coalition of Theo Heyliger and The National Alliance.

In all honesty, I’m sure Mr Wilson would have appreciated the irony, as he loathed the political manoeuvrings that were going on a few yards from where we used to love to sit, and gossip about St Maarten politicians.

I have transcribed and edited my journals, and I’ve decided to add it to my daily blogs.

The twisted history of St Maarten politics never ceases to amaze me.

Mr Wilson knew that I was a writer, and that I documented everything.

They are his unadulterated perspectives and opinions about St Maarten, its people, and of course the politics.

• Michael Jackson

Since there weren’t any choices, it goes to Michael. It goes to him not because he was the best this year but because he died this year, let’s keep it real. This music industry is so politically inclined they couldn’t just say we are giving MJ the accolades we haven’t given out of guilt…maybe if more of us were supportive and loving toward one of the greatest to ever do it then maybe the people closer to him would have done more to protect and take care of him.

Looking forward to seeing who actually wins! Maybe the industry can take notes from the AMAs by giving awards based on sales and not politics since sales mean PEOPLE chose the winners! *Pardon me Grammys* but the voters are not necessarily in tune with the music…I’ll get on their case in another blog coming soon!

Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Rick Tocchet is claiming he is playing rookie defenseman Victor Hedman like a top-4 defenseman, but averaging upwards of 24 minutes a game suggests the six-foot-six Swede is more like a no. 1. (Hockey’s Future)

What a whirlwind 24 hours for Torrie Jung. From Edmonton Oil King to Edmonton Oiler in less than a day, Jung was signed to an amateur try-out by the Oilers after starting goaltender Nikolai Khabibulan injured his back. The precautionary move on Khabibulan left little time to call up Devan Dubnyk from the AHL, so Jung, already in Edmonton, got the nod to play backup against the Chicago Blackhawks on Hockey Night in Canada. Though he didn’t see any action in the game, the Oil Kings netminder had the best seat in the house. (WHL)

What a difference a fresh start can make for a player, specifically Spokane Chiefs defenseman Jared Cowan. He came into camp (almost) healthy this year after suffering both an ACL and MCL injury last season which saw his draft stock dip and his participation at the combine be near non-existent. He was selected by the Ottawa Senators, gotten back to 100 per cent and hasn’t looked back. (Coming Down The Pipe)

The start to Colin Wilson’s professional career hasn’t quite gone according to plan for the Nashville Predators. Wilson was re-assigned today to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. In 10 games this season, the former Boston University standout has one goal and one assist and has missed the last eight games due to injury. (Nashville Predators)

So we’ve seen the parents’ responsibility and the fact that all education is religious.

So we’ve seen the parents’ responsibility and the fact that all education is religious. Now we get to the point. What is Wilson arguing for?

Contrary to what you might expect he is not arguing for homeschooling (see the comments on #2 for one reason why). Instead he is arguing for a private school with a classical and Christian curriculum. I’ll limit this post to answering the question ‘what is a classical education?

What is Classical Education? Some of you may be wondering what a classical education is. As I mentioned before, Sarah was familiar with it before we met, so it’s something I heard about several years ago but only recently read about in any depth. A classical education is divided into three categories: grammar, logic, and rhetoric. Prior to the grammar stage the focus in on literacy. Then grammar stage begins with lots of memorization. In the logic stage involes logic (obviously), analyses, and learning through questioning. In the final stage, rhetoric, students are trained to bring together all the information they have learned and present it reasonably and persuasively. This is only the most basic introduction. For a better introduction, see here. Those familiar with child development may be interested in how these three stages fit the with how children develop. For that I point you to Wilson’s book.

Additional features of a classical education include an emphasis on Latin (and possibly Greek) and interaction with ‘the Great Books.’ The goal is not just for students to learn, but for them to learn how to learn and to develop a love for learning.

That sure beats preparing for the next TAAS test (or whatever their calling it now), don’t you think?

Long-time correspondent and author of Escaping the Matrix, Richard Moore has recently circulated a m

Long-time correspondent and author of Escaping the Matrix, Richard Moore has recently circulated a message that, I think, is worth close consideration. I believe that he is right about contemporary politics being staged theater. We should not take it as real.

Here is Moore’s message in its entirety:

The fascist takeover is being facilitated by a particular psy-ops strategy.

The right-wing is being hyped up with all sorts of nonsense about Obama being a socialist, along with other disinformation, and so we have one segment of society that hates Obama, and opposes his programs, for all the wrong reasons. Simultaneously, we have what appears to be a strong conservative resistance in Congress to Obama’s legislative agendas.

Meanwhile the left, those at whom the mainstream propaganda is aimed, are presented with an ongoing snow job regarding Obama, portraying him as a modern saint, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, spreading reconciliation and sober wisdom everywhere he goes. Those on the left look at the right, and they see a reactionary force, a popular constituency plus conservative representatives who are together preventing Obama from realizing his visions. They see a battle between good and evil, between wisdom and ignorance… Obama may not be perfect, and his agendas may be flawed, but he is clearly our standard bearer in this battle. Without him on the front lines, we’d be deluged by a conservative backlash.

Reality, on the other hand, is quite different than either of the propaganda lines. For example, there is no battle happening on Capital Hill over healthcare. The healthcare bill was finalized long ago by the insurance and pharmaceutical companies, and we’re simply being presented with theater, whose final act will be the unveiling of that bill, and whose purpose is to make us think that is the best we could get.

More generally, the perceived battle between good and evil, a perception created by the effect of the psy-op campaigns aimed at left and right, is itself just theater, the final act of which will be outright fascism, and whose purpose is to distract us from the real course of events. To the extent those on the left blame the right, or those on the right blame the left, they are participating in that theater, and thereby being herded like sheep toward fascism.

Obama has been groomed over the years for one particular job, he has embraced that job, and he is carrying it out with enthusiasm and skill. That job is to be the point man for ushering in global fascism, to play a key role in the transition to a world government controlled by the global financial mafia, the same folks who funded Hitler and Mussolini. His role is to project a persona of global leadership, a wise, friendly face that can make the establishment of global tyranny appear to be the onset of global harmony and reconciliation. A bit like Woodrow Wilson, whose job was to usher in the Federal Reserve, and make it appear to be to be the onset of financial stability.

Biography

Holy Wood (2000-2001)

Marilyn Manson and Twiggy, Drawing by Sw Eden

The greatest serial killer in history has never been named. But what if we are looking in the wrong place?

In 1888, a deranged killer stalked his prey on the streets of east London at night. After 121 years since the murder and mutilation of at least five prostitutes, the case remains unsolved and the true identity of Jack the Ripper has never been known. The world’s greatest criminal investigators have focused on searching for answers in London. However, in the 1890s a series of horrific murders took place across the United States in New York, San Francisco, Galveston and Atlanta, that mirrored the attacks in attacks in the UK. In this one hour special, Discovery Channel’s viewers will witness the new evidence, science and analytical techniques being used to reveal the true identity of Jack the Ripper.

NYPD Cold Case Detective Ed Norris

The Discovery Channel’s documentary, Jack the Ripper in America focuses on Detective Ed Norris, former head of the NYPD Cold Case Unit, who investigates and uncovers new evidence not seen since the time of the murders. In trying to solve the 118 year old murder of New York prostitute Carrie Brown, he begins to note the similarities between her murder and the famous Whitechapel murders in London. Brown’s murderer had a three-stage MO (strangled, penetrating wound, pulled apart) Because of the unusual and gruesome nature of the crime, the press of the day, immediately began asking the question, “Is Jack the Ripper in New York“. Norris sees the same unusual ‘signature‘ in both the London and New York killers. They both kill prostitutes by strangling, cutting the throat, and eviscerating the body. For Norris this indicates that he might be looking at the same killer.

Carrie Brown aka Old Shakespeare

The key in all cold cases is finding the clues missed by the original investigators. Although, Brown was murdered on April 23, 1891, Norris decides to let a new set of eyes look at the evidence. Enter Dr. Jonathan Hayes, the Manhattan Senior Medical Examiner. Dr. Hayes combs through the autopsy report of Carry Brown. He reaches some interesting conclusions, including a special marking on the body, which I won’t reveal here, you’ll have to watch the show. On August 7th, 1891, another unidentified prostitute is murdered with the same MO as Brown, and pulled from the East river. Visiting the New York Municipal Archives, Norris finds that the old newspapers of that time, reveal another shocking detail. The killer actually wrote to the NYPD, before the murder of Carry Brown. His letter is recreated below:

Capt. Ryan,

You think that “Jack the Ripper” is in England, but he is not, I am right here and I expect to kill somebody by Thursday next, and so get ready for me with your pistols, but I have a knife that has done more than your pistols. Next thing you will hear of some woman dead.

Yours truly,

Jack the Ripper

Richard Jones

Detective Norris wants to get into Jack’s head, and walk in his foot steps. He feels that he was an organized killer that took advantage of the conditions of the time: no ambient street lighting, a black curtain of smoke over the city caused by burning low quality coal, and counting on his victims to naturally take him to the dark, secluded places used in the prostitution trade. Norris takes viewers through a summary of the Ripper murders by using re-enactments and walking through the crime scenes. Next, Norris consults London historian Richard Jones, owner of Ripper Walking Tours and author of Uncovering Jack the Ripper’s London. Jones has spent more than two decades investigating the Whitechapel murders. He asks Jones if any of the serious Ripper suspects had ever traveled to the United States after the death of Mary Kelly. Jones provided him with three names: Severin Klosowski, Francis Tumblety, and James Kelly.

Known as the From Hell or Lusk Letter

Norris then consults with Sheila Kurtz, a Forensic Hand Writing Analyst, Master Graphologist and President of Graphology Consulting Group. Kurtz had successfully worked on the Son of Sam case among many others. After reviewing samples of the Ripper’s hand writing, Kurtz identified the writer as a very disturbed individual, who she said, “I wouldn’t want to be in his company“. For additional details on her analysis please visit her blog. The graphic to the left shows the letter was purportedly written in 1888 by Jack the Ripper.

Dr. Thomas Bond

Norris then paid a visit to Britain’s National Archives. The archives hold thousands of original documents in the Ripper case. There, Norris discovers a document not previously used in the investigation. A profile of the killer. Sir Robert Anderson, the head of the police Criminal Investigation Departments, asked Dr Thomas Bond, Britain’s top police surgeon in 1888 to examine material connected with the Whitechapel murder investigation. Bond wrote a 19th-century version of a modern day unsub profile, based on personally examining the body of Mary Kelly and reading the autopsy reports on the first four victims. In the report, he describes in detail the type of person they should be investigating. Dr. Bond was sure that all five women had been killed by the same hand, because the throats of all victims had been cut in a similar way and the victims were presumably lying down when murdered. (for additional details on Dr. Bond’s profile, click here to read the report) Norris ultimately uses this 121 year old profile to narrow the three suspects down to one name. James Kelly. In the world of police parlance, Norris says that “Kelly looks good“.

Jack the Ripper victims: Polly Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catharine Eddowes, Mary Kelly

In 1883, James Kelly only one month married, argues with his wife and accuses her of being unfaithful. In a psychotic rage, he uses the methods of strangulation and throat slashing to kill her. Kelly is caught, convicted and sentenced to die by hanging. Then his employer comes forward and explains that he believes Kelly is mentally disturbed. Kelly was then examined by a alienist and committed to the Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum. Kelly’s psychiatric report has been sealed for over 125 years, until Norris examines it.

Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum

In 1863, Broadmoor was the first custom-built asylum to house criminal lunatics. In Broadmoor, Kelly is a outwardly a model prisoner, but at the same time he is secretly planning his escape. Working in the asylum’s carpentry shop, he cunningly uses a piece of medal he carved into a key to aid his escape. In January of 1888, Kelly escaped and just disappeared. At that time a series of stabbings and slashing attacks of women start in London. Three victims: Annie Millwood, (February 25, 1888, stabbed repeatedly, but survived), Ada Wilson, (March 28, 1888, slashed in the throat, but survived), and Martha Tabram, (August 7, 1888, stabbed 23 times, did not survive). Norris feels these are the early attempts of Jack the Ripper, who like many serial killers, escalates and only gets more brutal over time. After these three attacks, the first London Ripper murder occurs. Surprisingly, Kelly was once considered a suspect by London police, but after only minimal checking at his old residence, they simply gave up, and were never able to find him. With the huge amount of pressure they were under, the case against Kelly went cold…

Astonishingly, in 1927…forty years later, a much older Kelly voluntarily returns to the insane asylum and began to chronicle his travels. A typed copy of Kelly’s confession letter survives in the National Archives, and Norris is the first detective to read it. In the letter, Kelly describes having “problems dealing with society“, and being “overtaken with feelings of envy, jealousy, and malice“. Kelly states, “the thing has been hard because of all kinds of ’skank’” (a term he uses to refers to women of low moral character) and “I’ve been on the warpath since I left Broadmoor Asylum.” Also in his letter, he admits to traveling to London after his escape, and more interestingly he tells of traveling to the United States and arriving in New York conveniently before the Carrie Brown murder. He was by profession, a trained upholsterer, and would have known quiet a bit about knives and how to use them effectively for the purpose of murder. Kelly also mentioned traveling to many cities in the US before returning to England and admitted that he came to the US many times over a period of 40 years.

USS Zaandam

First Norris wanted to check to make sure that Kelly’s confession matched up with actual travel records of the day. In Britain’s National Maritime Museum, they kept track of every ship that came to the United States. Kelly said he traveled to America aboard an Anglo-German steamer named the Zaandam that sailed from Rotterdam to New York. At the museum, Norris not only confirmed the ship existed, but that it sailed from Rotterdam to New York on October 7, 1890—two years after the last Ripper murder in London (11/88) and months before the April 23, 1891 murder of Carrie Brown in New York. You might be thinking, “How does a ‘wanted man’ get into the United States without detection?” Professor Dan Citrum is an expert in 19th-century immigration and explains how easily it could have been done. Remember this was before Ellis Island was established, so getting in and out of the country was very easy. No drivers licenses, no passports, and no photo id whatsoever. Many people back then, came to this country to start over, and remake themselves and get lost in the huge crowds of New York city. In his confession, Kelly admits to changing his name once his ship arrives to ‘John Miller‘, one of the most common names both then and now. Kelly used his new name like a disguise to blend in and escape police scrutiny.

Knowing from experience that many serial killers travel extensively, to avoid detection, Detective Norris plots the cities Kelly claims to have visited against the murders written about in the newspapers. He begins to see similarities in Ripper-like murders committed in other cities: New York NY, Trenton, NJ, Galveston, TX, New Orleans, LA, Philadelphia, PA, Baltimore, MD, Jackson, CA, San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO. Each of these murders occurred during the time that Kelly, thorough his confession letter, said he was in that city. Even the city newspapers asked the same question “Is this the work of Jack the Ripper” and “Is this the fiend of Whitechapel?” and “Has Jack the Ripper Invaded Texas at Last“. Detective Norris identified twelve murders across five states in just four years…and remember, Kelly was gone for forty years…you can do the math. To read an amazing collection of news reports, please visit Casebook: Jack the Ripper.

Using a asylum photo of Kelly provided by the National Archives, he was able to see what Kelly looked like at age 67. Norris then contacted Steve Mancusi, a NYPD senior forensic artist who has helped solve the most difficult cases for the last 30 years. He wanted Mancusi to use forensic imaging technology normally used for age-progression in missing child cases, but with this case, he wanted him to reverse the effects of aging, to show what Kelly would have looked like in his 30’s. The striking illustration below on the right is based on their findings.

Both illustrations of Jack the Ripper

The left composite, was drawn based on 118 year old eye-witness accounts of Jack the Ripper in London. They examined different witness statements and used modern day forensics to come up with a portrait of the killer, even indicating what type of hat he wore.

The drawing on the right, is the result of Mancusi shaving 40 years off of James Kelly’s photo at age 67. As you can see, once they added the type of hat mentioned by eye witnesses, the drawings are a very close match.

In the end, there is no doubt in Norris’ mind that he has found Jack the Ripper. We may never know. John Kelly died of natural causes in 1929 inside Broadmoor Asylum and took his secrets to his grave. In my opinion, Jack the Ripper in America was very well done and is a must-see for all forensic buffs and amateur Ripperologists. I’m interested in seeing further research, analysis and discussion of Norris’ theory. Regarding any factual errors in this post, I apologize in advance, and encourage everyone to let me know what needs to be corrected.

Time After Time

McDowell played H.G. Wells, who uses his time machine to chase his friend, Warner (aka Jack the Ripper) through the streets of modern day (1979) San Francisco. After watching Norris’ documentary, maybe Hollywood’s silly (but entertaining) version of the Ripper story had a sliver of truth to it after all.
