If you are thinking of buying a computer then you need to know every thing about it including its accessories. It has been seen that people know only a few details about computers. They are content by knowing only about its hardware, software and processing details, and never give a thought about the accessories that are needed or used along with the computer. The following paragraphs summarize the work of computer accessories experts who are completely familiar with all the aspects of computer accessories. If you follow their advice you can avoid any confusion in buying computer accessories surprises.

Yesterday, we spent about three hours trying to convince a client of ours that brand new computers just don’t come equipped with the all things that most computers need in a PC. We tried to convince him that a fully functional computer is one that is personalized with specially selected hardware and software accessories – and that the computer purchased at the store doesn’t come with these things. Unfortunately, all of our convincing was to our avail. Our client insisted that he should never need more than what came with his boxed product and that we were just trying “bilk” more money out of him.

As computer consultants, it’s our job and mission to make sure our clients are 100% satisfied when they walk out our offices. But our job is unnecessarily made harder when people don’t take the time to learn about computer accessories and familiarize themselves with the limitations of store-bought computers. Hopefully by the time you finish reading this article, you’ll understand the lesson that we were trying to teach our client: “What comes out of the box is really just a starter kit.”

I trust that what you’ve read so far has been informative. The following section should go a long way toward clearing up any uncertainty that may remain.

The typical computer package comes with a CPU unit, keyboard, mouse, and speaker set. That may be just fine for some, but most people require more than that especially in today’s “connected” society. Today’s users require full multimedia capabilities, a wide range of graphics tools, and accommodations for the various portables we now enjoy. These extras aren’t included with “what comes out of the box,” and the only way to get them is to accessorize.

To illustrate the importance of accessorizing, we like to use the “plain dough” analogy. Let’s say that a brand new computer is a batch of plain dough – waiting to be flavored and baked into something useful. If we want to use this dough to make a delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies, we would need to “accessorize” this dough with chocolate chips and a little brown sugar. If we want to use this dough into in a warm loaf of sesame seed bread on the other hand, we’d need to “accessorize” the dough with yeast and sesame seeds.

Like “plain dough,” the brand new computer isn’t very useful by itself. It needs accessorizing.

Depending on what’s needed, accessorizing doesn’t need to be expensive. In fact, you can get away with paying a minimal amount for extra software and hardware if these accessories are for children. It’s when these accessories are work requirements or when they’re needed to produce works of quality for any other reason that they can become rather expensive. And this expense applies to microphones, digital cameras, PDAs, scanners, video cams, and more.

Regardless of cost, it’s important to understand that accessories can become “necessities,” and that the best time to get them is the moment you buy a new computer. Waiting too long to accessorize can cause more problems than necessary because while you wait, manufacturers continuously develop new technologies – technologies that your computer won’t be able to accommodate in the future. Once you’re ready to accessorize, the new products on the market are too advanced for your computer and they just won’t work. This is a typical problem experienced by those who want to use hardware designed for Windows Vista on a Windows XP or Windows 2000 machine.

I hope that reading the above information was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing–the more you understand about any subject, the more you will be able to share with others.

A Beijing court has ordered Microsoft Corp. to stop selling some versions of its Windows operating s

A Beijing court has ordered Microsoft Corp. to stop selling some versions of its Windows operating system in China in a licensing dispute with a local supplier.

The order, which came on Monday, said Microsoft exceeded its rights under licensing agreements with Zhongyi Electronic Ltd., a Beijing company that developed Chinese character fonts used in the software.

Microsoft must stop selling versions of Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 with Zhongyi’s fonts, the Beijing People’s No. 1 Intermediate Court said in its ruling, a copy of which was released by Zhongyi.

Microsoft said it would appeal.

“Microsoft respects intellectual property rights. We use third party IPs only when we have a legitimate right to do so,” the company said in a statement. “We believe our license agreements with the plaintiff cover our use of the fonts.”

Microsoft did not respond to a question about what proportion of its products sold in China use Zhongyi fonts or how many copies might be affected.

Zhongyi said its agreement with Microsoft allowed the Seattle-based software producer to use its fonts only in Windows 95 and they were added to later products without permission.

China is a leading source of pirated copies of software, movies and other goods and its government has long been accused of failing to do enough to stop the thriving underground industry.

China’s small but ambitious technology companies say they are among the biggest victims of piracy and are turning to the courts to help defend their intellectual property.

At first, I wouldn’t want to release this article. But after I see there is so many people who over fancy about Windows 7 and willing to pretend not seeing its disadvantage but continue on bashing Linux, so I have decided to publish this article.

As you all know, Windows 7 is officially released at 22nd October 2009. It is serve as a replacement of Windows Vista. I’m sure a lot people wondering why is Windows 7 release so fast while Vista only on the market officially just for 2 years time? I will explain that later.

Vista was released 30th January 2007. It had been a long waited OS from Microsoft by a lot of people. But everyone was very frustrated with the result as Vista was consuming too much disk space, RAM etc. The minimum requirement that Vista require is too high, until most people not able to catch up. A lot of people was forced to upgrade the PC just to be able to install Vista.

I work in a newspaper office. Its very small and has even a smaller budget. When I started here, I had an older computer that had a few problems. I don’t know how the other people who had my position used it, but it was not long until I was having problems. The power supply was bad and would overheat, causing the computer to lock up and occasionally crash. The control S key was my lifesaver many times as I learned that I often had to rebuild my work from scratch if I did not. It was common for me to work about 10 minutes then save.

Well I kept the beast up for about another year, working with the case off so that it was not quite as likely to over heat. We had a big project beginning of May and it began to get a few quirks. Luckily, it lasted until after the project was complete before it died. I just turned it on one morning and it kept locking up, it would not even run on safe mode! Turns out the power supply finally gave up the goat and died. The hard drive was salvageable and we were able to get the stuff onto a portable hard drive, but the tower itself was finished.

Since the budget here is so limited, we moved the computer from the front to my station. I thought my computer was old, but this thing? It’s a dinosaur! I’m not sure what all it has in it, but I still think there is a hamster in there somewhere doing computations it is so slow. It runs on win. 2000 and barely at that. I have to be careful not to have too many windows open as they will go poof! And the best part? It will not support some of the programs we use here every day, for instance it will only update to Adobe reader 5… the rest of the computers here in the office use at least 6 or 7 I think. I cannot open most pdf’s from the internet or from my email.

This morning, when I turned on my computer I looked at the time. It read 6:48 a.m. Apparently this old dog didn’t get the updates on when daylight savings time begins. I doubt that it can be updated. But heck I wish I could go on its time. I would get an extra hours sleep!
