Bueno, no siempre… Espero que en este caso la Pantalla Azul de la Muerte sea para la maquina y no para mi dinero. ¿¡A quién quiero engañar?, lo guardo en un cochinito debajo de mi cama

Test: Go to some company and tell them about a free product that outsmart theirs..they will fuss over the free software and free software culture. Now, go to some foss activist, and talk to them about some proprietary software or Microsoft. They will start harassing them.

I ask you, why? Why are we deepening the bay between free software culture and proprietary software culture? The answers lie in our minds, deep..buried, because we never want to reveal them.

Each one has its own significance. Take the example …you are a techno-geek who is just passed out from the college, securing excellent marks, and you look around for jobs. All you get is the slogans of free software and develop free software. Will you get paid? Yeah, only in a few cases. Most of the work is volunteer-based, so you won’t get paid for it.

There are the questions related to this main question. Proprietary software are bad? No..actually, they aren’t. I am also a foss-activist, but unlike some others, I do not criticize proprietary software. I do not have enough abilities to do so. People might say that I am a foss-activist and I am supporting proprietary software. I am not taking anyone’s side. I am on my way, on both sides, there are two worlds..foss and non-foss. Choose what fascinates you.

Lets talk about advantages. Microsoft has recently built up an excellent ope

The New Microsoft?

rating system, Windows 7, which covers all of the uncovered or incomplete aspects of Windows Vista and Windows XP. Of course, I do not deny, and nor Microsoft will, that Windows Vista hadn’t gained as much popularity as Windows XP or Windows 98 did. Some FOSS activists call it the ultimate failure of Vista. I do not agree. Even if Vista hadn’t been much popular, it isn’t a failure. Now, Windows 7 is appealing product of Microsoft Corporation, but what I comment on it, is that it’s priced too high. In the meaning, too high for students, and economic classes. So, not everybody will benefit from it. Also, proprietary software includes great support and help from manufacturer. So, Its a good deal.

Score: Proprietary Software 1:0 FOSS

Free & Open Source Software, like my own group, Free & Open Source Software For Youth Foundation have its own significance. However, I am going to start my own proprietary group, so no offence Free software has no limitations on how you use them, except being free too. So, this is one advantage ..oops..two advantages over proprietary software…use them or throw them in dustbin…you can use them anyway..no matter how. Now, there is one gaping hole, because the software are free and there are very few organizations offering free software..(please note that ‘very few’ is in context of total organizations…5 every 100) ..so, there is a lack of support and patches, as well as people has low enthusiasm towards free software. But overall, it doesn’t stops me to say that FOSS are great!

Score: Proprietary 1:1 FOSS

Results: What I think, is that FOSS and Proprietary software are just two wheels of a cart. Both has their own position and dependencies and effects and reliabilities. We shouldn’t deepen the bay between them, but, We should bond them together. Proprietary software and free software should be bound together, because, both of their target is one: Get customers enough satisfaction with their products. So, Why not end this war? Only if FOSS and Proprietary software will work together, then they will be able to attract more customers, users and who knows, this theory might change the world!

A Beijing court has ordered Microsoft Corp. to stop selling some versions of its Windows operating s

A Beijing court has ordered Microsoft Corp. to stop selling some versions of its Windows operating system in China in a licensing dispute with a local supplier.

The order, which came on Monday, said Microsoft exceeded its rights under licensing agreements with Zhongyi Electronic Ltd., a Beijing company that developed Chinese character fonts used in the software.

Microsoft must stop selling versions of Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 with Zhongyi’s fonts, the Beijing People’s No. 1 Intermediate Court said in its ruling, a copy of which was released by Zhongyi.

Microsoft said it would appeal.

“Microsoft respects intellectual property rights. We use third party IPs only when we have a legitimate right to do so,” the company said in a statement. “We believe our license agreements with the plaintiff cover our use of the fonts.”

Microsoft did not respond to a question about what proportion of its products sold in China use Zhongyi fonts or how many copies might be affected.

Zhongyi said its agreement with Microsoft allowed the Seattle-based software producer to use its fonts only in Windows 95 and they were added to later products without permission.

China is a leading source of pirated copies of software, movies and other goods and its government has long been accused of failing to do enough to stop the thriving underground industry.

China’s small but ambitious technology companies say they are among the biggest victims of piracy and are turning to the courts to help defend their intellectual property.

In December, a group of 11 people who were convicted of selling unlicensed copies of Microsoft software were sentenced by a Chinese court for up to six and a half years in prison.

You don’t have to be a genius to be certain that Microsoft is working on the next Windows version for a while now. And even though there isn’t much around about it, gathering a lot of hints, here’s a report about possible (and some certain) next features:

Hibernation improvements: Windows 8 will include a special Hibernation/Resume API that will replace Windows Vista Xpress compression engine used in the hibernation process. Windows 7 includes some improvements in this area, but they are promising a whole new experience.

Kernel security enhanced. PatchGuard feature (Windows’ kernel security module) will provide a new and enhanced security.

Maintaining and improving DirectAccess feature for mobile users. Presented in Windows 7 (along with BranchCache), DirectAccess brings a better experience for mobile users outside the organization.

New user interface. Nothing much about this, but they are promising a new one.

Improvements in the Remote Desktop protocol and other Server tools.

New download experience.

New networking features.

Windows 8 Application Server. For the server version, will include (like already has) the application server role but with a new strategy.

This new operating system, since it will be a major release that will include also the server version, will be in 2012. But still is too early to be certain about things.

On a side note, once I’ve heard that Microsoft always uses a transition operating system in the middle of the main releases. For example: Windows Millennium (between Windows 98 and Windows XP) and Windows Vista (between Windows XP and Windows 7). So, where do you think Windows 8 is?

Valuable System Information is saved on your computer that you should be aware of and have immediate

Valuable System Information is saved on your computer that you should be aware of and have immediate access to. To gain and understand this knowledge, here’s what to do:

1. Right click My Computer.

2. Select Properties (from the context menu.)

3. Click on the Device Manager tab (if not already selected.)

4. Click Print.

NOTE! From this point, you have two separate choices that you must make. You can select one of two choices, which are:

a. Select the default report which will give you a print out called the System Summary. The default report (depending on your printer and its settings) will spill out approximately 2 1/2 pages , of information as to your IRQ settings, your machines Input and Outport Usage (I/O), Usage of Memory (physical RAM), and finally your Basic Input-Output System (BIOS) date and its version.

b. Select All Devices and System Summary . This choice will print out an exhaustive report of approximately 9 1/2 pages.

COMMENT! Although I’m the first to conserve INK whenever possible… If you’re running 98, I suggest you do this at least once; regardless of the cost of ink, and save the extended report in a safe place. It’s just good common sense, and at least you’ll know everything about your computer, even though at first glance; the full report, at initial glance won’t make much sense to you… but, believe it or not… over time… you’ll find that saving this information will become invaluable.

If you want to extend the workspace between two monitors, it is yes if you have two VGA or DVI outputs on your PC. If your video card only has one VGA output and you have a PCI card or you have a PCI Express card and a SLI or CrossFire Motherboard (But don’t enable that mode).
