Si preguntaban sobre algún teléfono que salga de lo tradicional aquí lo tienen, aunque no sale de lo común por sus cualidades (que son muy buenas, aunque típicas) sino que se resalta por pertenecer a una marca no muy tradicional. Estamos hablando del nuevo Mivvy One que fue creado por los checos de Mivvy.

Es nada menos que un muy interesante Smartphone que llega para competir de igual a igual con las compañías más reconocidas (aunque la poca difusión de esta marca será un obstáculo para vender más que Samsung)

Este teléfono tiene consigo el Windows Mobile 6.1 ya instalado, una pantalla táctil de3.2 pulgadas y un excelente procesador Marvel de 624 MHz con 128 de memoria RAM.

¿Qué más, qué más? También dispone de Wifi, Bluetooth, radio FM, localizador GPS y una interesante cámara de 3.2 megapixeles. Su capacidad con tarjeta es de hasta los 32 GB de memoria. Cuesta unos 380 dólares.

Besitzer eines Windows-Mobile-Handys aufgepaßt, es gibt etliche gute Programme, um Facebook auf dem Handy zu nutzen.

Beginnen wir mit dem Klassiker, Facebook for Windows Mobile von Microsoft:

Auch die Chat-Funktion von Facebook kann mobil genutzt werden. Es gibt zum einen fim (Facebook Instant Message) mit weiteren Features, wobei ich Palringo bevorzuge, da hier auch weitere Chat-Protokolle unterstützt werden.

Wem Palringo nicht zusagt und wer darüber hinaus Skype & seinen SIP-Account in einem Multimessenger starten möchte, der möge sich Fring ansehen.

(Fring ist übrigens das einzig gescheite Programm, um einen VoIP-Account von Sipgate auf einem HTC Touch 3G zum laufen zu bringen – soweit ich es getestet hatte…)

Ein weiteres Highlight dürfte BookSync sein. Hiermit kann man Namen, Geburtstage und Profilfotos des Handy-Adressbuches mit der Facebook-Freundesliste abgleichen.

Toshiba ha lanzado el modelo TG-01, siendo un móvil el cual cuenta con el procesador más rápido que exista en el mercado que es de 1 Ghz, aunque el móvil de Acer parece tener velocidades similares. Se trata de un procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon de 1 Ghz.

Como sistema operativo tiene Windows Mobile 6.1, controlándose completamente mediante una pantalla táctil de 4.1 pulgadas y una resolución de 800 x 480, conectividad WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, soporte para HSDPA de 7.2 Mbps.

El diseño es muy elegante y liviano siendo algo similar al iPhone en cuanto a su forma y peso. Este móvil ya se encuentra disponible mediante Movistar en España y lo podrás adquirir mediante dos formas, ya sea un paquete de datos y voz con un precio mensual desde 19 euros hasta los 99 euros, por un plazo forzoso de 24 meses.

LG ha lanzado un nuevo teléfono móvil al que llamaron LG GM730, siguiendo el esquema del OMNIA presenta unas características estándares hoy en día. Cuenta con una pantalla de unas 3 pulgadas. Como caracteristica principal con su singular interfaz S-Class y su famoso cubo en 3D.

El LG GN730 vendrá gestionado por Windows Mobile 6.1, el cual además se iniciará con una pequeña sorpresa o añadidura (como prefieras), ya que el lanzamiento del mismo a principios del mes que viene será con la tienda de aplicaciones de LG.

Segundo o site Moblili Linija da Lituânia, publicou uma imagem que diz ser o Omnia II que também é chamado de Samsung GT8000, contudo estas informações não são oficiais.

Quanto às características, este OMNIA II mede 118 x 59.6 x 11.9,  tem um ecrã táctil de 3.7 polegadas AMOLE WVGA de 480×800, o seu processador é um Qualcomm MSM6290 + S3C6410 e terá ainda uma câmara de 8.1 Megapixéis com “dual LED” e sensor de 5.7mm.

A nível do sistema operativo, será o Windows Mobile 6.1 Profissional e não a versão 6.5, ainda contará com o software “Cubic interface” e suporte para DivX e Xvid. É esperado para o terceiro trimestre deste ano, a um preço ainda desconhecido.

Se trata del Samsung Jack, que muchos lo conocen mejor como el sucesor del Samsung BlackJack II (quizás ustedes también prefieran denominarlo de esta forma)

¿Qué tiene consigo? Entre otras cosas, este smartphone dispone de un muy buen teclado QWERTY que les facilita vida a quienes necesiten enviar e-mails. Además posee tecnología 3G y puede captar Wi-Fi.

No olvidemos su cámara de 3.2 megapíxeles que graba vídeo y también dispone de receptor A-GPS y el Windows Mobile 6.1 ya preinstalado. Por ahora podrán comprarlo quienes vivan en los Estados Unidos y su precio ronda los 100 dólares con un contrato de dos años de AT&T

Acer ya tiene listos varios de los modelos que presentó durante el Mobile World Congress, así que vamos con un repaso a algunos de ellos, empezando con el Acer DX900, un terminal que destaca por disponer de dos ranuras para tarjetas SIM y Windows Mobile.

Esto nos permite usar dos líneas al mismo tiempo sin necesidad de llevar dos teléfonos encima, por lo que podemos tener nuestra línea personal y la de empresa en un mismo terminal, o, si viajamos mucho al extranjero, nuestra SIM habitual y otra para realizar llamadas dentro del país donde estemos.

Eso sí, debemos tener en cuenta que de las dos SIMs que instalemos en el móvil, solo una de ellas dispondrá de conectividad 3G, compatible con HSDPA, mientras que la otra se queda solo con GSM. En la mayoría de casos esto no será mayor problema, pero mejor comprobarlo.

Si nos fijamos en las características físicas del Acer DX900 nos encontramos con un teléfono de gama media, que no destaca especialmente en ninguno de sus apartados, pero que llega bastante equilibrado. Así, nos encontramos, por ejemplo, con una pantalla de 2.8 pulgadas con resolución de 640 × 480 píxeles, un poco justo hoy en día.

Y es que lo normal es ver que la mayoría de terminales que llegan ahora con Windows Mobile lo hacen con pantallas de mayor tamaño y con resolución de 800 × 480 píxeles. En el resto de especificaciones también mantiene esa media, con un procesador de 533 MHz y 128 MB de RAM.

Para el almacenamiento, el Acer DX900 depende de tarjetas de memoria externas, pues en su interior solo hay 256 MB de capacidad. La ranura para MicroSD nos permitirá aumentar esa cantidad. En el lado de la cámara tenemos mejores noticias, con una resolución de 3 megapíxeles y autoenfoque.

Finalmente, cuenta también con acelerómetro, sensor de luz y un receptor GPS que nos permitirá usarlo como navegador. Evidentemente, el poder usar dos tarjetas SIM repercute bastante en la autonomía del teléfono, por lo cual viene con una batería de 1530 mAh.

Esta le permite ofrecer hasta 5 horas de conversación y un tiempo de espera de hasta 150 horas.

El interfaz del Acer DX900 ha sido convenientemente retocado por el fabricante para hacer más sencillo su uso que el que viene con Windows Mobile 6.1. A pesar de eso, nos hubiera gustado que anunciaran soporte para su futura actualización de Windows Mobile 6.5, pero esto parece poco probable.

El teléfono está disponible en el mercado español y, como es habitual en Acer, destaca por tener un precio bastante ajustado para las prestaciones ofrecidas.

O novo HTC Snap chegará ao mercado português no dia 16 de Junho a um preço de 379€, o Snap destaca-se pelo seu teclado QWERTY completo e ainda pelo Inner Circle.

Fazem parte deste HTC, o Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, um processador Qualcomm a 528 MHz, 256 MB de ROM e 192 MB de RAM. Quanto ao ecrã este é de 2.4 polegads com resolução QVGA, tem uma câmara de 2MP, GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA a 7.2 Mbps e ainda tem uma trackball.

O Inner Circle é nem mais que uma ferramenta para filtrar os emails de contactos que estão previamente definidos pelo utilizador, facilitando assim a consulta dos emails. Outra capacidade é o GPS que conta com o software de navegação NDrive (Mapa de Portugal com Foto Aérea), num cartão microSD de 4GB.

I have been using this phone for about 8 months now. Most of the review talks about the good and bad of the phone but i am just going to talk about the bad part as i am so unhappy with the peformance of the phone.

First the touch screen, yes when you test it out for 1 or 2 days it feels great but once you start using it the screen sucks big time, does not respond to your touch most of the time. Then comes the the phone itself, after using it for about 2 weeks i realise that the phone switch off by itself as and when it likes. I was trying everything i could download updates and stuff and the issue was never resolved. I decide to bring it to the Toshiba, gave it to them and explain what is the issue about and after 3 days they called me and told me that it was due to the battery as it was lose, they changed the battery, back cover and also updated the phone to the latest firmware which is no availbale on the internet. Picked it up and started using it again and within a week the problem came back, and until today nothing can be done to solve this issue.

Second, was the speed of the phone once you start using it for few days you can see the respond speed sucks, it takes for ever to load a screen up and when you answer a call it will just hang and you will not be able to do anything other then hitting the reset button which will take about a minute to get the phone back to normal. I tried everything uninstalled some application, reset the phone and load all data again send it to Toshiba and again nothing helped.

Finally the 3G settings, even if you are in area where 3G signal is good the phone keeps on jumping from 3G to 2G and back and forth. First i thought it was because of the service provider, called them up and they did all test and even came to my house to do some testing and finally it was concluded that it was because of the phone, when we testing with other phones which is running windows mobile 6.1 everything seem to be ok, the signal stays connect with 3G for hours and the moment i swap the phone back to 810 the 3G signal will last for few minutes before it jumps back to 2G then with in a minute it will jump back 3G.

After 8 month i gave up with the phone and changed to Iphone and todate no issue.

So if you are considering to buy a Toshoba G810, think again.

It will be good if you could leave your comments if you had any issue with the phone like me.

First Impression

Acer Tempo DX900 size is just nice for a decent looking PDA but it is a bit thick on the side. It is not going to win on the aesthetic department because I think Acer rather go for functionality. The front panel is a minimalist but once you turn over the side, there are host of other buttons to be found.

This is what makes the Acer Tempo DX900 stands out from the pack. It supports 2 Active sim cards simultaneously. Meaning, both SIM cards can be turned on at the same time! Recent years has seen the number of people with 2 phones increasing and I think Acer wanted to catch the trend with the FIRST dual SIM PDA phone. 

Benefits of using a Dual-SIM phone

• Less thing to carry, less thing to forget/left behind
• Central update of phone book. No need to look back and forth for numbers/miss calls…
• No need to buy 2 PDA phones to enjoy the PDA functions on both phones
• No duplicate of contacts
• One back up / Synchronization will do

I think the major drawback of using a Dual SIM phone is the battery. You are effectively receiving/making more calls with just one device and this my drain the battery. Hopefully the huge 1530mAh battery is good enough for most people, else a car charger, extra battery is definitely needed.

There is another limitation too. I noticed most, if not ALL of the Dual SIM 3G phones comes with one slot supports 3G and another slot  supports 2G only. Why? Why can’t both SIM card slot supports 3G? It happened on the U Mobile Sou Dual SIM 3G phone too. Some other Dual SIM phone brands in the market do not even support 3G. 

Is it an architecture limitation? Please share with me if you know why.

The Acer Tempo DX900 too has this limitation. A 3G sim card will still work on a 2G slot, just that you will not be able to enjoy 3G network coverage/video calls with Slot 2. So, you should be inserting a 3G SIM card with unlimited data plan into slot 1, whereas slot 2 is reserved primarily for calls and SMS. Unless you plan to make Video calls on BOTH SIM cards, this phone will work wonders.

Using the Acer Tempo DX900

From the main screen, you can see the status of the 2 SIM cards. You must however remember which is line 1 or 2 because the system will indicate each call/sms with the “1″ and “2″ prefix.

When you send SMS, you can choose which SIM card you want to send from. And when you view your SMS, you can see which SIM card did you receive the SMS from.

When you are making calls, you can also choose to call using “Talk 1″ or “Talk 2″.

The call history will also clearly indicate which SIM card is it coming from/going to.

At any point if you want to turn off one of the SIM card, just click on the “Communication Manager” tab.

Comparison between HTC Touch 3G, HTC Touch Cruise & Acer Tempo DX900

No doubt HTC Touch Cruise is lighter and HTC Touch 3G is sleeker device compared to Acer Tempo DX900. But Acer Tempo DX900 comes with Dual SIM, VGA screen, 3.0MP Auto-focus camera with flash and a super large capacity battery. 

Which will you choose?

Over the years, I have fallen in love with Hi-Res screen (VGA) and Auto Focus camera. You can give me 5MP camera but if it cannot focus, it is not good enough. If I have taken a 5MP camera with auto-focus and viewing it on a QVGA screen, it is also not good enough. This combination is just right!

Con:

• Back cover comes off easily. Not too sure if it is limited to this particular unit.
