Patrząc na obraz nowego wyglądu GG 10 i tego jakie jest, chce mi się płakać. Dosłownie…

Komunikator dla dzieci, nie dorosłych, ale dla dzieci, chyba że dziećmi nazwiemy też dorosłych bawiących się na mojageneracja, to tak, to też dzieci. Takich małych, które nie pojmują świata.

Kiedy pojawiło się nowe GG8, wielu nie przeszło. Ponieważ odpychał wygląd, i zasobożerność.
Nawet teraz słyszę, że komputery czy laptopy z dobrymi podzespołami mulą się przy GG8. SZOK!!

Obecne, myślicie, że będzie lepsze. Gdzie będzie jeszcze więcej badziewia??

A na ubuntu to mam Pidgin, lub, od wielkiej biedy kadu:) Na co mi komercyjne coś, co muli mi system i działa i rusza się jak gówno w trawie, do tego ma tyle reklam że rzygać się chce??

Więc nie wiem czy to co chcą zrobić twórcy GG już od lat jest skazane na porażkę

Yup, yup, for the past couple of months my laptop (purchased in January 2007) has been acting very much diva like indeed! There is no life at all on the thingy. Zilch, nada, not-a-thing at all presently. There has been days when it has behaved beautifully and i thought all’s well and swell but alas -

First i thought that it was ickle me, but as i have bought this and that to enhance the performance that only gave temporary ‘activity’ to the ‘puter, i had to get to the heart of the matter  and i began to do some serious research on it,  i came across this site regarding my laptop aka HP Pavilion dv 600:

At Kioskea.net i read some more on this and from there i came across to another place where there were these handy hints by ’sloanjenny’:

1. Shut the computer down
2. Unplug the computer
3. Take out the battery pack
4. While the pack it out, hold the power button for 30 seconds
5. Put the battery back in
6. Plug it to the AC adaptor
7. … and Voila!

There should be life on the yoke!!

This is yet to be seen as to my laptop, as i am using somebody else’s computer writing this entry, but i shall keep you posted, if this tip mentioned above worked.

Now, there is one gaping hole, because the software are free and there are very few organizations offering free software..(please note that ‘very few’ is in context of total organizations…5 every 100) ..so, there is a lack of support and patches, as well as people has low enthusiasm towards free software. But overall, it doesn’t stops me to say that FOSS are great!

Mi sono trovato di fronte all’esigenza di modificare la partizionare dell’hard disk del mio pc. Non avendo voglia di cambiare l’hard disk con uno più capiente, ho deciso di risolvere il mio piccolo problema “allargando” una delle due partizioni mangiando un pò di spazio all’altra. Come sempre, sono andato alla ricerca di un software free. Quindi, scartata l’ipotesi dell’ormai famoso Partition Magic (ex PowerQuest) della Symantec, anche se economica, ho scovato un fostware che ripropone le principali funzioni necessarie per la partizione. Si tratta di Free AESUS Partition Master, un programma dall’interfaccia molto intuitiva e simile a quella di Partition Magic. Dalla prova che ho fatto posso dire che è anche efficace e ben funzionante. Inoltre, offre il supporto a Windows7.

Casi no nos ha dado tiempo de sacar Windows 7 de la caja y ya tenemos noticias de fechas definitivas para el lanzamiento de Windows 8. Por mi parte pienso que en este caso Microsoft lo va a tener más difícil. Hay que tener en cuenta que Windows Vista ha sido un sistema operativo con una pésima imagen, pero que técnicamente ha aportado cosas muy importantes, sobre todo en el campo de la seguridad y del entorno gráfico. Windows 7 ha tenido, en ese sentido, el camino abonado pues partía de un sistema muy denostado pero sólido y no tenía demasiado difícil ofrecer una imagen mejor.

Pero ¿cómo superará Windows 8 a su hermano Windows 7? Lo que sabemos son dos cosas: que Microsoft ya está trabajando febrilmente en ello y que al timón del barco está Steven Sinofsky. Con el lanzamiento de Windows 7 aún reciente, siguen llegando noticias de la próxima versión de Windows. Microsoft se ha puesto a trabajar en ella y a contratar nuevo personal con la idea de no repetir problemas en el pasado, cuando en alguna ocasión (como en Vista) no se ha podido respetar la frecuencia de lanzamientos de sistemas operativos que se ha impuesto la empresa.

En la presentación que ha sido mostrada por parte de Microsoft Italia a una serie de partners, se puede apreciar que la fecha de 2012 está marcada, aunque con un símbolo que indica que el hito es aproximado. Los datos provienen del blog Microsoft Kitchen. No hay que olvidar que desde la llegada de Steven Sinofsky las fechas de lanzamiento se han flexibilizado, con lo que es posible que la fecha definitiva pueda variar.

En cualquier caso lo que está claro es que Microsoft quiere transmitir que la evolución del sistema no está detenida, y que aún no abraza (como está haciendo Google con su Chrome OS) el concepto de la nube para sustituir a los sistemas operativos “residentes” en el ordenador. Dada la política que ha seguido Sinofsky para el desarrollo de Windows 7, no sería extraño que ya en 2011 pudiéramos ver en ferias como el PDC de ese año algún detalle definitivo del nuevo Windows.

Reseñar que en la presentación se habla del Windows 8 Server, y no aparece mención al sistema operativo cliente. Lo curioso de la presentación es que se refiere a Windows 7 como “actualización de versión” y que Windows 8 en cambio está marcado como desarrollo importante o “major release”.

What about Google and Chrome OS? Google has its own browser, Chrome, and now they have their own operating system called Chrome OS. Promoting a ‘modified version’ of its browser? Capable of spreading it around the world with their search engine that dominates almost the whole world. Could be something dangerous…

Oh I forgot to mention: “What about Apple and its Safari?” or Firefox that is gaining more market share every day…

Europe, you annoyed Microsoft already, please do the same with Google.

Ahh…updates. No, I’m not talking about me writing a blog post to say how much work I’m not doing, nor to ramble on about things happening in my life. I’m talking about technical updates for programs, hardware, software, and most importantly…operating systems. Because this is a tech post. And unless you’re a nerd, it will be boring. Go read something else.

Okay, so I’ve been beta-testing the new Microsoft Office 2010 programs for the past week. I have two words: HOLY CRAP. Microsoft, since they’ve fallen sadly behind Apple on the popularity chart, has to begin ramping up the actual quality of its products, because people don’t just buy Windows stuff without thinking anymore. And I’ve heard so much whining about the interfaces on the 2007 products in my own circles, I can’t imagine how many whiny, spoiled people complained to Microsoft about it themselves. (Personally, I really liked the 2007 change. It was new, well-thought-out, and gave a fresh rejuvenation to a very old and firmly-established product line.)

But when people got wise to the design flaws (tabs were sometimes confusing, buttons were placed oddly, less customization was possible, etc.) and began having Windows ME-like daymares with Vista, talk began to circulate of a savior to the common man oppressed by poor programmers: CollabNet’s OpenOffice!

OpenOffice is a free, community-driven suite of programs that run the MS Office files, Mac files, Linux files, and basically any other file you can possibly find on any computer since 1985. The suite contains equivalents for Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Publisher, is compatible with almost every operating system, has peer-created content by the gigabyte, and is laid out just like the good ol’ days of MS Office 2003. Wow. What a great find. And best of all, it’s FREE. Yeah. Check it out here.

I’ll admit: I tried it. I already have Office ‘07 installed, and I already really like it, but I thought, “Why not?” Thirty minutes later, I realized why not.

(In my opinion:) It’s terrible. I don’t really know why. But it bugs me the heck out. Everything seems so…Linux. Which is correct, I guess, because it is. What else would be compatible with everything? The interface is old and decaying, the file extension process is confusing and not for surface users, and the running programs are hefty and awkward. Seriously, see for yourself. (If you like it, more power to you. If not, maybe you’ll agree with me on the next few paragraphs.)

I don’t think Microsoft will quickly release its hold on the word processing business. I know Apple is developing new software, and that Adobe is getting in on the cloud-processing, but Microsoft loves its money. And the Office programs can reach $680 for its “Ultimate” package. Huge business will buy thousands of licenses for these programs, and that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit for the Gates kingdom. And now, with the server technologies developing into multi-billion-dollar revenue-generators, they’ve kept ahead of the game with their OneNote and SharePoint programs, their Office Live online suite and collaboration, and the release of betas for testing by the general public. It’s really incredible business.

Now, for a review of the Office 2010 beta:

Beyond satisfactory. Microsoft is beginning to impress me with their innovation. The new big thing is user themes (the user can create their own theme by selecting pictures, colors, module positions, etc. for their programs), and ‘10 now caters to that idea. The modules, very similar to 2007, are now much more user-maneuverable, and the options everything on the interface now offers are tremendously helpful. Searches have been streamlined to work better for less-experienced users, and return a wide variety of inputted results. Programs like Outlook now offer email string collapsibles, much like advanced coding programs. Contacts have the ability to be connected to and from popular social networking sites via developer kits and smart people. The tabular layouts have been kept, but dumbed-down for the more-confused user who can’t just look at pretty pictures. Word provides easy access to much-used properties; Excel looks excatly the same, but better; PowerPoint won’t confuse anybody anymore, ever; and Access is full of brand new awesomeness that I never actually compared to 2007. It’s probably exactly the same, too. But everything has the look of a cleaner, polished, “this isn’t a test anymore” program, and it’s about time, since Apple has made more headway in the last three years than probably expected.

If Microsoft wants to stay on top of the game in the upcoming battle for customers, they need to quit thinking like they own everything forever. Because even if they do, it’s not an excuse for lukewarm quality. And there’s plenty more companies willing to get in on the action when something bad happens.

A note to consumers: Don’t settle. Don’t ever settle. Look around for programs that fill your needs, and do so with the least amount of discomfort to your and your hard drive. OpenOffice is a great example of teamwork and Linux programming. Adobe’s Acrobat.com is good example of web-based word processing. I’ve been using it for over two years, and it hasn’t failed me yet. And there’s tons more freeware programs to check out. But personally, until I either have no money for Office, or someone designs the most beautiful alternative, I’m sticking with Mr. Gates on this one.

Chromium 빌드 버전에 관심이 가게 되었다.

리눅스의 경우 Kubuntu를 사용하고 있어서 apt 패키지 관리자에 등록을 해서
매일 매일 새 빌드 버전을 받을 수 있었지만,
윈도즈의 경우 어떻게 할까? 생각하다가 찾아보니 업데이터 프로그램 들이 있었다.

Windows XP dalam bundlenya dilengkapi dengan aplikasi web server yaitu IIS 5. Untuk mengintegrasikan ASP.net ke dalam IIS 5 ternyata memerlukan langkah yang sedikit tricky. Setelah berbrowsing ria di mbah google akhirnya saya menemukan cara untuk menginstall ASP.net di IIS 5.

Setelah menginstall IIS 5 lewat Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs->Add or Remove Windows Components, kemudian install .net framework 2 ato 3.5. Setelah itu untuk meregister ASP.net ke IIS, masuk ke cmd melalui Start->run kemudian ketik “cmd”. pada windows cmd ketikkan perintah berikut

Furthermore, install operating system from USB hard drive or flash stick is also faster comparing to old-fashioned DVD.

To let customers have an easier way to burn and write the Windows 7 ISO image to a physical DVD media, USB flash drive (or USB stick), or external and portable USB hard disk drive, Microsoft Store has released a Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (WUDT), which also known simply as ISO Tool published at http://store.microsoft.com/Help/ISO-Tool. Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool allows users to create a copy of Windows 7 ISO file on a USB flash drive, USB hard disk or a DVD, by transferring the installation from the ISO image to the medium, and ensuring the DVD or USB drive is bootable. Been bootable mean the media allows users to install Windows 7 after starting up computer directly without having to first run an existing operating system on the machine.

Although burning an ISO to a DVD disc is easy, but converting Windows 7 ISO to a USB drive is much more complex, because ISO cannot be directly ‘burned’ or ‘wrote’ to USB drive. Copying all the content inside the ISO to USB drive also does not work, as the USB drive is not bootable. Hence, WUDT is very useful for Windows 7 users who want to port and transfer Windows 7 setup installation files to USB flash drive or external hard disk, which is also bootable.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Use Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to Create Bootable DVD or USB Media

1. Download a Windows 7 ISO.
2. Download and install Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool: Windows7-USB-DVD-tool.exe (official link has been pulled due to possible violation of GPL license).
3. Run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool.
4. In the Source file box, type the name and path of Windows 7 ISO file, or click Browse and select the file in the Open dialog box, then click Next.
5. Select USB device to create a copy of Windows 7 installation media on a USB flash drive or DVD to create a copy of Windows 7 installation media on a DVD disk, then click Next.
