Windows7 D610 サウンドドライバー インストールできました。

Windows7 用のサウンドチップは Sigmatel 製で

STAC9751AC97 となっているようでウェブで探しましたが

該当するドライバーは見当たりませんでした。

それで、DELL 製のほかのノードPC用の

Windows Vista 用ドライバーに似たドライバーが

あったのでインストールしてみるも無視状態でした。

で、最後の手段とばかりに

D610 用の　Windows XP のドライバーはあるのです。

そこで、それをインストールしてみることに・・・・

いｙぁ、怖かったなぁ

まぁ、結論から言うとうまく行ったんですが・・・

やり方は、簡単で、

Windows XP　のドライバー R99254 を

ダウンロードします。

そして、これを実行すると、デフォルトドライブに

解凍されます。

そして、

スタート　→　コンピュータ　→　プロパティ　→　管理

を開きます。

その「コンピュータの管理」　→　「デバイスマネージャー」

そこで問題あり状態になっているサウンドドライバーの更新を行います。

次に、ドライバーのある場所に　先ほど解凍したディレクトリを指定して実行します。

それで認識されました。

めでたしめでたし。

Leider oder zum Glück verfügt mein Notebook über keinen Hyper-V fähigen Prozessor, aber XP brauche ich für einige Programme, die nicht unter Windows7 laufen. Dank VMLite kann ich aber trotzdem den XP Modus verwenden auch wenn der Prozessor das nicht unterstützt.

VMLite verwendet eine angepasste Version der VirtualBox OSE, die bietet sowieso mehr Funktionen als die Microsoft Variante. Wie man sieht funktioniert die Virtualisierung recht gut und vor allem schnell. Wer mehr Speicher zur Verfügung hat, kann sich über bessere Leitungen freuen, für meine Anwendungen reicht das aus.

Die nahtlose Integration der XP Maschine lässt einen ganz vergessen, das man im Hintergrund mit XP arbeitet. In dieser Hinsicht ist Windows7 wirklich ein Fortschritt.  

Manchmal sollte man doch erst einmal nachsehen, ob es liebgewonnene Programme unter Linux nicht auch für Windows gibt. Pidgin habe ich auf Ubuntu 9.04 sehr lange benutzt, seit dem teilweise Umstieg auf Windows fehlte mit immer ein entsprechendes Programm. Gut das es Pidgin auch für Windows gibt.

Die meisten guten Programme wie Gimp, Incscape, Scribus etc. gibt es auch für Windows und es werden immer mehr. Für mich ist das sehr praktisch, solange ich Windows nutze, es kommt auch wieder die Zeit für Ubuntu …

CopyTrans ermöglicht es, die Apple iPods und iPhons auch ohne iTunes mit Musik zu füttern. CopyTrans läuft allerdings nur unter Windows, also wieder nichts für Linux User. Praktisch ist das Programm auf jeden Fall. Cashy hat einen netten Artikel geschrieben, der sich mit dem Thema beschäftigt.

Für mich ist das Programm besonders wichtig, da ich mehrere Bibliotheken mit Musik besitze, aber nicht alle in iTunes drin sind. Außerdem verwende ich als Musikplayer lieber Songbird als iTunes. Songbird kann auch mit vielen iPods umgehen, aber eben nicht mit allen.

Mit CopyTrans kann man nicht nur Musik, Podcast sondern auch Videos ohne iTunes kopieren. Dadurch eröffnen sich einige neue Möglichkeiten, z.B. kann man die Video Podcast aus Miro verwenden und eigene Filme kopieren. Klar, iTunes kann das auch .. es geht aber auch ohne und das ist gut so.

Avant Windows intégrait le maximum de logiciel pour éviter que le consommateur n’aille chez les concurrents. Désormais, cela a changé, c’est la personne elle-même qui télécharge les programmes qu’elle souhaite.

Microsoft’s 2009 Professional Developers Conference (PDC) was held in Los Angeles from November 17-19 this past week. And there’s a whack of content to digest.

Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference saw keynotes from top Microsoft brass on key areas of focus for the Windows platform and related Microsoft products. In addition to the two keynotes, there were many, many technical sessions drilling deeper into specific topics.

Let’s have a look at the key topics covered in the keynotes, to see what’s “top of mind” at Microsoft these days.

Day 1 Keynote

The Day 1 Keynote was headlined by Ray Ozzie, Chief Software Architect at Microsoft and Bob Muglia, President Server & Tools.

Cloud Computing and Windows Azure

Front and center of this keynote was cloud computing and the Windows Azure cloud computing platform. Windows Azure is both:

1. A set of capabilities and technologies
2. An application/programming model

A key focus at Microsoft is to create a unified programming model and infrastructure management experience for managing applications across enterprise data centers, and applications hosted in the cloud on the Azure platform. Integating these two computing infrastructure – in the enterprise and hosted in the cloud – is the Azure Fabric controller.

Here’s how Microsoft presented key features of the Cloud Application Model in the Day 1 keynote:

Cloud Data Services – code name “Dallas”

Ray Ozzie discussed the Cloud of Data, and introduced the Federal Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra (who is a very charismatic speaker BTW) by live video feed to speak about the Federal Government’s Open Government initiative, and its support for Open Data.

Ozzie briefly spoked about Microsoft’s Data Services in the Cloud offering, code named Dallas.

Modeling – the fate of Oslo

Finally, somewhere in the mix, Microsoft announced that Oslo has moved into the Data Developer group, and has been rebranded as SQL Server Modeling technologies. This includes the newly-christened SQL Modeling Services (the old Oslo Repository), as well as the M modeling language and Quadrant modedling UI. Here’s a nice little blog post that discusses Microsoft’s rationale for closely integrating the modeling and data spaces.

Day 2 Keynote

The Day 2 Keynote featured:

• Steven Sinofsky – discussing Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9
• Scott Guthrie – exploring new features in Silverlight 4
• Kurt DelBene – providing an overview of SharePoint 2010

Windows 7 and IE 9

Steven Sinofsky, President of the Windows Divison at Microsoft, gave what I thought was a very interesting and entertaining look at Windows 7. He talked about some of the “lessons learned” from developing past Windows platforms, and discussed some of the key new features in Windows 7, some of which are summarized in the slide below:

Sinofsky also briefly touched on lessons learned in developing IE 8, and some key areas of focus for IE 9.

Silverlight 3 and 4

Scott Guthrie’s keynote on Silverlight was absolutely delightful. As is evident from the presentation, the “cadence” of the Silverlight team of bringing new features to market is remarkable. Here’s a “few” of the features that Microsoft introduced in Silverlight 3:

To quote Guthrie:

We shipped Silverlight 3 a little over three months ago … Silverlight 3 delivers the richest media experiences on the Web.

With Silverlight 3, Microsoft also shipped Expression Blend 3, which is a tool for delivering rich, interactive experiences for both Silverlight and WPF. Guthrie played a video showcasing some of the capabilities of Sketchflow, which is an innovative tool for application prototyping. Very cool!

Guthrie went on to showcase some of the summer’s leading online streaming events delivered via Silverlight, including the Sunday Night Football site, illustrated below:

Guthrie then turned his focus to Silverlight 4, which will be a major new release for Microsoft. I’m not going to review the new features in Silverlight 4, but if you’re interested, do check out Guthrie’s keynote.

I thought the Silverlight 4 based Facebook applications demoed by Brian Goldfarb was extremely cool. Check that out as well.

Finally, Guthrie announced that the Silverlight 4 Beta is now avaiable for download, and that the final release of Silverlight 4 will be released in the first half of 2010.

Microsoft Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010

The final speaker of the Day 2 Keynote was Kurt DelBene, senior vice president of the Office Business Productivity Group (OBP) of the Microsoft Business Division, who discussed some of the new features in Microsoft Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010.

I’m not going to provide an overview of DelBene’s keynote, as I recently blogged about the upcoming features in SharePoint 2010 here.

Con el anuncio de Microsoft de que su nuevo sistema operativo Windows 7 se centraría en tecnologías de interfaz táctil multipunto e interpretación de los movimientos, puede que los ratones tengan fecha de caducidad.

Cuando vimos el interfaz dirigido por movimiento de la película “Minority Report” (y en menor medida en series como “Star Trek: La Nueva Generación”), todos quedamos maravillados por la sencillez de uso y la ergonomía del sistema, pensando “me gustaría poder trabajar así con mi ordenador”.

Claro que no fuimos los únicos, porque los ingenieros de Apple y Microsoft ya llevaban tiempo trabajando en la siguiente generación de sistemas de interfaz táctil multipunto.

Apple convirtió un teléfono mediocre en un fenómeno social gracias a su interfaz. Ampliar una imagen con dos dedos, rotarla, pasar de canción de manera totalmente intuitiva… el iPhone es claramente una muestra de lo que nos espera.

Surface

 Pero Apple no era la única compañía que estaba trabajando en sistemas táctiles, ya que Microsoft como compañía, y Bill Gates en especial, creían que el interfaz táctil era el futuro (Gates siempre ha sido un defensor a ultranza de los Tablet PC, cuya falta de éxito puede atribuirse a la falta de un sistema operativo que saque el máximo provecho de su pantalla táctil).Así, esta apuesta se plasmó en una mesa-ordenador llamada Microsoft Surface que, a posteriori, podemos considerar como un demostrador tecnológico de lo que la compañía estadounidense piensa incorporar a corto plazo en sus sistemas operativos.

Surface es una mesa cuya superficie táctil multipunto nos permite interactuar con el contenido de una manera muy parecida a la que vimos en “Minority Report”. Desde utilizar nuestros dedos como punteros de ratón, realizar agrandamientos de imágenes estirándolos como si se tratase de una superficie elástica, hasta utilizar una gran cantidad de accesorios como pinceles, láminas transparentes, y un largo etcétera.Pero aún hay más: Surface interactúa con cualquier objeto que pongamos en la mesa, detectando su forma y ofreciendo información contextual. Si ponemos dos teléfonos móviles, puede ofrecernos de inmediato información comparativa entre ambos, podremos descargar y cargar fotos y música en ellos, o transferir una ruta desde el mapa integrado en el sistema hasta el navegador de los teléfonos. Y si lo que ponemos es un vaso, iniciará una animación como “posavasos virtual” o también (si se trata de un bar o un restaurante) nos ofrecerá sugerencias de la carta.Obviamente, todo esto es un concepto, ya que para que esto funcione, los teléfonos han de tener un sistema operativo o un programa residente que se sepa comunicar con “Surface”.Windows 7

 Pero la principal baza de Microsoft en lo que a tecnología táctil se refiere todavía está por llegar. Según anuncios de la compañía, los nuevos sistemas operativos Windows 7 (sucesor de Windows Vista) y Windows Mobile 7 estarán centrados en el control mediante tacto y gestos.En el mundo móvil no es ninguna novedad, y no sólo por el iPhone. Compañías como Nokia y Sony Ericsson ya han incorporado acelerómetros en algunos de sus modelos para detectar movimientos efectuados por sus propietarios. Así, podemos cambiar de canción con sólo “agitar” el móvil (Shake Control de Sony Ericsson) o controlar los juegos de móvil inclinándolo (próximamente en móviles Nokia).

 Pero el hecho de tener un sistema operativo orientado a la interacción táctil y gestual en un ordenador “normal” puede cambiar la manera que tenemos de trabajar con el ordenador. Ya en Windows Vista hemos apreciado como se incorporaban otros métodos de interacción alternativos, como el reconocimiento de voz (otra cosa es cómo de efectivo sea).Es posible que, si hacemos caso a lo que anuncian desde Microsoft, que en un futuro no muy lejano (el lanzamiento de Windows 7 se prevee para 2010) nuestro ratón se vea sustituido por una superficie táctil o directamente pantallas táctiles superfinas con tecnología OLED encima de nuestros escritorios.¿Y el teclado? Además de poder tenerlo en la propia superficie táctil, si la tecnología de reconocimiento de voz sigue avanzando, puede que Windows 7 cuente con un sistema de reconocimiento de voz lo suficientemente avanzado como para que podamos dictar por voz todo el contenido que antes tecleábamos.

It’s somewhat hard to believe that we’re already talking about Windows 8 given that Windows 7 just hit the shelves two months ago, but you know the engineers at Microsoft are already planning ahead. According to a roadmap constructed over at Microsoft Kitchen — based around whispers heard through the grapevine on the eventual release of the next Windows Server — the next iteration of Windows is tentatively pegged for release in the year 2012. Of course, a three-year window between Windows 7 and the next version is totally believable, but we wouldn’t go planning your end of the world party with the assumption that a new OS will be the main attraction. Or you could, but then you might be disappointed, which would be a sucky way to go out.

I faced two weird minor issues on my Win7 (x64) Trial Copy temporarily. Here is the first one.  When clicked on Start, the Shutdown button was missing.  At this point of time, I could see Shutdown option when I pressed Ctrl+Alt+Del.  After trying the Log Off and relogin, I could get my Shutdown button back.

Windows Home Server (WHS) Power Pack 3 will be available November 24th.

The primary focus of Power Pack 3 is to improve the Windows Home Server experience with Windows 7 and Windows Media Center. Windows 7 has so far worked fairly well with Windows Home Server, though it’s not been officially supported, and Power Pack 3 brings several enhancements and fixes to get Windows 7 working great with Windows Home Server. source

PP3 adds features like backup and restore of computers running Windows 7, Windows 7 Libraries integration, enhancements for Windows Media Center, and better support for netbook computers. Microsoft is reminding Windows 7 users to be sure to install PP3 to get the "most optimal experience" on a WHS network. source

WHS does make a good point at which to add a second AV product and scanner to your work, especially in as much as F-Secure uses multiple engines in their product.

Before you get a copy of Windows 7, it is very important to confirm whether you and your computer are ready for the upgrade. If you’re one of the millions of PC users who still have Windows XP, your computer may not have enough hardware to run the new Windows 7.

If you’re one of the millions of PC users who still have Windows XP, your computer may not have enough hardware to run the new Windows 7. Worse yet, you have a tedious and long upgrade process ahead, essentially requiring you to remove everything on your current hard disk and reinstall it. If you’re running Windows Vista, the procedure won’t be tough, but not necessarily pain free. And you still might want to go through the more thorough and time consuming upgrade process facing Windows XP users.

Windows 7, which released in October, has several editions such as Windows 7 Home Premium, Pro, and Ultimate etc. Windows 7 comes in two flavors either go for 32 bit or 64 bit. The latter can be speedier, depending on the type of software you run. But few programs can take advantage of what it offers, so be cautious in this choice. In order to install 32-bit version, your computer will need to have 1 GB of RAM, a 1 GHz processor or better and around16 GB of available space on its hard drive. The requirements for the 32-bit version are about the same as those for Windows Vista, that mean most Vista users should be able to install Windows 7. They’re also in line with the specifications of many computers sold in recent years. Even many netbooks, which are typically underpowered, should have enough memory and horsepower to run Windows 7. If you want to install a 64-bit version of Windows 7, you’ll require at least 2 GB of memory and 20 GB of hard drive space, and a 64-bit microprocessor. But many Windows XP computers won’t be able to execute the new software. Windows XP minimum requirements are far less than Windows 7. You can run Windows XP with 233 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM and 1.5 GB of drive space.

Part of what has made Windows XP popular in netbooks is that the software’s modest requirements meant that manufacturers could save money by building computers with older, slower processors and less memory than on higher-end systems. In other words, even if your netbook is fairly new, it may not be able to run Windows 7.

Upgrade tips
1. The best way to start, with the Windows 7 Upgrade download it from Internet. This free program from Microsoft will perform an inspection of your computer and let you know if anything might cause you problems. After running the Advisor, you’ll see a report screen.
1. It’s a good idea any time you upgrade your OS, it’s mandatory if you’re running XP.
3. As far as getting your data ready for the process, Windows 7 includes a revised version of Vista’s Easy Transfer tool. It does a fantastic job of gathering up your data from Windows XP and Vista machines and zapping it into your Windows 7 install.
4. If you’re migrating from XP, you’ll have to reinstall all program files after you finish the upgrade.
5. If you’re running Vista, you’ll need to have at least the first service pack installed before the upgrade.
6. Upgrading from an updated version of Vista can take less than an hour. But the process can take hours longer if you need to back up your data first or if you are upgrading from XP.

Windows 7 is available, but the question is still remain that what are the compatible software for Windows 7? While Microsoft’s latest operating system has got widespread praise for its efforts to remain compatible with the majority of existing applications, incompatibilities do exist, especially in the areas of system security and system maintenance.

Anti-Virus Program:
During Windows 7’s lengthy pre-release phase, only a handful of anti-virus applications were compatible with the operating system. That has changed, though, with the final release of the operating system. At present, most of the major anti-virus makers have either updated their existing products or released new versions of their security software to address Windows 7 compatibility. Partition Wizard supports both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and makes resizing partitions the same way as Partition Magic did. To complete most resizing operations however, you will need to allow the program to reboot your computer. But other than that, it’s pretty much hassle free.

Customizing Windows Explorer:
You can spend a good deal of time trying to customize the new Windows Explorer to look and act like the one in XP, but such customization will only get you so far. The fact is that Explorer has been revamped in significant ways, and there’s no ‘classic’ Windows Explorer theme or application that will truly approximate the version found in XP. You may want to look at third-party Windows Explorer replacements, however.

For instance, Directory Opus , widely considered one of the most powerful and customizable Explorer replacements, can be set up to mimic pretty closely the look and feel of the Windows Explorer found in XP. You can even tell Opus to respond to the same built-in keyboard command Windows key+E that traditionally opened Windows Explorer. Opus also has improved features, such as directory and file synchronization, that no version of Windows Explorer offers.

Unlike the default settings in Windows, Linux users have to enter the administrative password before they can install new software. Recently a popular variant of Linux called Fedora introduced a change to alter the security model of Fedora to no longer require the administrative password before installing new software.

On paper it seems sensible, Fedora users could only install applications using the equivalent of ‘Add and Remove Programs / Software’ in Windows, from a list of approved titles. To ensure only approved software is installed, these approved items have a digital signature to prove they have not been altered before they are installed.

Seems reasonable so far, so why is it a problem for the Linux security model? It is a matter of trust. If you have administrative password to an operating system then it is assumed that you will only install software you trust. If you don’t have administrative password or equivalent permissions granted to you by someone who does, then it is assumed you won’t have the administrator’s trust to install new software.

What Fedora did was to move the trust from administrators only, to allowing any user to trust third party software implicitly. Suddenly the only security control to protect an unprivileged user, was the process of getting software added to the Fedora software collection, to get a digital signature.

Windows users may be lost at this point because you are mostly used to a world where you have full control of your operating system. The outcome was that Fedora reverted back to the typical Linux security model due to public pressure. What this shows is that the correct security model for operating systems is not to allow the user to install software without entering the admin password to grant your trust to the software provider. It works for OSX, UNIX, LINUX etc and it can work in Windows XP / Vista / 7.

So why doesn’t Windows come with this security feature as a default, you may ask? One to ask Microsoft…

A grande mudança do Windows Explorer é a presença do item “Libraries”, que nada mais é do que pastas virtuais para agregar tipos de arquivos diferentes (como vídeo, música, documentos, fotos e etc.). A vantagem dessa forma de organização é que você poderá centralizar todos os arquivos nessa pasta. Não interessa em qual pasta ele realmente esteja armazenado. Pode ser até em pastas remotas, como a de um pendrive ou de um computador remoto, por exemplo.

Aero Peek

Esse recurso faz com que as janelas apareçam transparentes quando você passa o mouse em cima do botão “Mostrar Desktop” e também quando você redimensiona uma janela, assim sendo mais fácil ver o Desktop e saber como a janela irá ficar.

Redimensionando janelas ou Aero Snap

Redimensionar ou esconder as janelas abertas no Desktop também ficou mais fácil. Se você arrastar uma janela para cima, ela maximizará automaticamente. Arrastando para os lados, a janela redimensionará de forma que ficará fácil colocar uma janela do lado da outra para efeitos de comparação.

Se clicar no pequeno retângulo, localizado ao lado do relógio, você poderá minimizar todas as janelas. Clicando no mesmo botão você poderá restaurá-las facilmente. Se passar o mouse sobre este botão, você poderá vê-las transparente. Para efeito prático de organização, é um recurso muito bem-vindo.

Action Center

No Windows Vista todos os avisos do sistema aparecem de forma “gritante” quer queira ou não. Talvez, percebendo que isso incomoda alguns usuários, a Microsoft decidiu centralizar os avisos em apenas um local no Windows 7: Action Center. Essa nova área juntará todos os alertas do sistema para você não ser incomodado a todo o momento. Ou seja, a partir do Windows 7, você não será incomodado com determinados alertas o tempo todo. Além disso, a área centraliza opções de segurança, backup e configurações para os chatíssimos alertas de controle de usuário (UAC).

Nova Barra de Tarefas

Foi uma das novidades mais apontadas no novo Windows 7. Além de mais atraente, esta novidade traz mais utilidade na gestão da barra de tarefas, principalmente para quem tem necessidade de ter muitas janelas abertas no desktop. A barra de tarefas do Seven esconde por trás do ícone as janelas abertas que carregamos e que estão ativas. Por exemplo, 3 ou 4 janelas do browser abertas, estas fiquem atrás do ícone podendo ser visualizadas se passarmos o mouse por cima deste mesmo ícone.

Compatibilidade

A compatibilidade também está melhorada com a atualização do Device Stage. Este componente oferece o suporte necessário a dispositivos mais antigos. Assim que ativado, uma imagem do dispositivo é exibida na barra de tarefas, o que facilita a interação com o usuário.

XP Mode

O XP Mode adiciona uma espécie de camada de compatibilidade de aplicativos, mantendo tudo que é executado como se fosse parte da área de trabalho do Windows 7. Isso significa que não é necessário alterar a plataforma ou executar um aplicativo para poder ativar esse modo. Isso é possível porque qualquer aplicativo instalado dentro do ambiente virtual do Windows XP é publicado no host do Windows

La reparación de inicio del sistema consiste en una herramienta del sistema que puede resolver problemas como la falta de archivos o que dichos resulten dañados y impiden que Windows 7 se pueda iniciar correctamente.

Eso si, hay que tener claro que una reparación de inicio no tiene como objetivo solucionar problemas de hardware, ni proteger contra los ataques de virus, ni es una herramienta de copia de seguridad, ni tampoco esta pensado para solucionar problemas de la instalación, su objetivo es iniciar el sistema en caso de fallo.

A continuación os mostraremos como reparar el sistema para que Windows 7 pueda escanear el equipo y averiguar si se trata de un problema de arranque del sistema, por ejemplo error en el Master Boot Record, y tratar de arreglarlo para que el ordenador se pueda iniciar correctamente.

Primero se debe introducir nuevamente el disco de instalación en la unidad de DVD y reiniciar el equipo.

Puede ocurrir que solicite presionar cualquier tecla para arrancar desde la instalación de Windows 7.

Seguidamente seleccionamos las preferencias de idioma y hacemos clic en Siguiente.

Una vez realizadas estas operaciones debemos hacer clic en el margen inferior sobre la opción, Reparar sistema tal y como se muestra en la imagen.

Mostrara por pantalla diferentes opciones, en el caso que estamos explicando hay que seleccionar la primera opción: Reparación de inicio.

Automáticamente el ordenador empezara a escanear para tratar de encontrar y corregir cualquier problema de inicio.

Durante la reparación de inicio de Windows 7, el equipo puede solicitarnos algunas operaciones en las que debemos de dar nuestro consentimiento ya que se trata de una reparación.

Si por cualquier caso la reparación no funciona hacemos clic en Siguiente y aparecerá un resumen del escaneado y enlaces de información sobre el problema.

Finalmente si todo ha surgido correctamente hacemos clic en Finalizar, quitamos el disco de instalación del Windows 7 y el equipo se iniciara.

All delighted after I saw the refreshing new Windows7 on my friend’s system, I understood why even Mac and Unix lovers did not detest it, as opposed to the pompous Vista that made no sense. Very soon I would have Windows7 on my system (upgrading from WinXP). I was not sure whats the hardware I required to have and if I would like Win7, however there is lot left to discover yet and thankfully I have my WinXP CD to  reinstall if I dont like Win7.

To save myself from the regret for lack of support and software, I was looking around to see if I am going to be safe on Win7. And the first, as most Windows users would, was my search for Antivirus. The Good News is even AVG and Avast free Antivirus programs had started supporting Win7. However, the best ranked Antivirus was Microsoft’s Security Essentials. WOW! Microsoft seemed to have learnt its lesson and acted real fast and well. I will settle down with Avast and Threatfire (if they have the Win7 version) to stop “zero-day” threats. I found the lists on the best FREE Antivirus for Win7 at howtogeek, Taragana’s Blog and downloadsquad.
