Tepat seminggu juga deh gw menjalani hidup di usia yang berbeda dan yah ini tulisan seperti biasa..buat berterimakasih kepada teman-teman hehe..

Jangan ditanya kenapa dibilang hedon, emang mungkin sepanjang tahun 2009 ada yang sirik aja haha. Ya mungkin anggap saja gw anaknya bahagia menjalani kehidupan gw, suka yang senang-senang haha amin.

Karena katanya ada pemain sinetron di salah satu tv swasta yang mirip gw. Selain itu gw dapat beberapa ucapan yang ada statement bahwa gw mirip salah seorang vokalis band..

makasih loh teman-teman atas perhatiannya dalam setiap mili kehidupan gw, walaupun bete juga bacanya hahaha. Sisanya banyak doa yang bagus-bagus dan voice note-voice note menarik untuk didengar karena nyanyian teman-teman sangat kreatif. Terutama Kobo dan Putut yang duet membahana haha.

ada juga yang lain yang bilang gitu haha..sudahlah biarkan gw berkembang sendiri biarkan foto-foto ganggu itu ada gw bingung mau foto gimana lagi, bosan aja dan biar yang ngeadd yang kenal juga kan, soalnya kalo nggak kenal pasti males,kenal aja belom tentu nggak males haha.

Oh iya di antara teman-teman sepermainan di kampus ada si birthday crown yang diberikan setiap ada teman yang ulang tahun. Biasanya yang ulang tahunnya pas liburan foto pake crown di-upload deh. Gw telat dapetnya dan bingung mau foto gimana haha, sementara foto dengan crown biasanya pada cantik-cantik haduhh.

Dan jeng jeng jeng terimakasih karena birthday crown-nya sudah di tangan gw, sebelum gw serahkan ke birthday girl selanjutnya, ini fotonya…

Maaf kalo mengecewakan, gw nggak berbakat foto anggun walaupun sudah 21 tahun haha..

Hm, salah satu kebiasaan gw adalah membuka treasure box yang berisi kartu-kartu ucapan dan serentetan barang-barang lainnya. Buat bahan merenung aja hehe. Dan baru saja  gw membaca tumpukan teratas treasure box gw dan menemukan sebuah kertas bertuliskan ”I`m sorry i`m not so good in packing things..” dan gw tertawa sedikit sambil mendengarkan lagu Penny Lane-nya the Beatles..

dan berlanjut gw membaca kertas-kertas dalam Treasure Box.  Gw menemukan juga kertas yang bertuliskan, ”Selamat ulang tahun koalaaa.” dan sekian ucapan-ucapan lainnya yang membuat gw menghembuskan nafas pelan haha.

Sometimes, i miss last year…

El otro día necesitaba un pick-me-up. P y yo pensamos en The Rocky Horror Picture Show pero no estaba disponible… La segunda opción era Fame. La vimos y nos pasó algo curioso: En Fame van a una de las famosas proyecciones de media noche de The Rocky Horror Picture Show que se hacían en los setenta. Bailan el Time Warp y todo… Como hace poco mencioné algo de las coincidencias me pareció pertinente incluir esta anécdota al repertorio. Justo la película que quería ver aparece en la que terminé viendo. Un cortocircuito.

Weekend of late and wonderful nights. Got home from Megan & Jason’s “Yay Us!” Thanksgiving style party around 4something a.m. Saturday morning – made dinner & brownies with Nik at our own private slumber party before watching Bruno and Milk (which I didn’t make it through, due to quantities of wine & lack of sleep). Drove to the Pub to meet up with Jill for brunch. (Score 1 for #075!)  Cleaned my room & battled back the cold I’ve had which was trying to creep back to full strength after a weekend of drinking…

Started reading An Echo in the Bone tonight. Am going to try and turn in early to get some well earned sleep. Wouldn’t change a thing about the weekend though — fabulous!!!

Como pasa siempre con las versiones de los Beatles es complicado discernir entre si es mejor la original o la versión. De todas formas, en lo que no hay discusión es que Joe Cocker cambia totalmente el ritmo de esta canción, canción que por cierto, grabó con Jimmy Page.

Perbincangan sore hari dengan seorang teman berinisial “P” :

Gw       : Gw tuh biasanya kalo di-sms pasti bales deh, pokoknya  kalo nggak berlanjut yang terminasi hubungan dan pembicaraan bukan gw, makanya gw nggak bisa banget deh sms duluan gw tuh tertekan, nanti kalo nggak dibales gw stress sendiri aduh

P          : Iya Sas, tapi cinta tuh kadang-kadang nggak butuh pembalasan

Gw       : rrrr lo minggat aja deh sana-sana hush hush sinetron banget astagaa

Gw & P : Hahaha

Suatu hari di sebuah kelas teori perkembangan:

Dosen: Ya kalo dalam pertemanan kamu nggak menerima balik perasaan kamu bahwa seseorang adalah sahabat ataupun teman kamu, kamu aja sedih kan? Gimana kalo itu perasaannya berhubungan dengan ”love” dan nggak balik? Nggak terbalas? Intimacy-nya nggak dapet kan?

Hari yang sama setelah perkuliahan di toilet kampus :

Gw       : Tuh, bukan kadang-kadang nggak butuh pembalasan, tapi kadang-kadang memang tidak berbalas aja.

P          : Haha iya sih hahahahahahha

rushed to get up and go already while we were still sipping our after meal drinks.

Finished it all off with a Hot Éclat - a delectable beverage that combines Barbancourt rum and Bailey’s Irish cream, steamed with milk to hot, frothy perfection, and is served with a Hot Éclat drinking chocolate wand for drinkers to stir in.  

Fork is not the place to pop into for a quick bite to eat – fast as they make you go – you will need a reservation to get a table. A perfect place to go on a lovely, blustery fall morning for brunch if you’ve made your battle plans. I’m not sure that I’d go back to try Fork for dinner – there’s a lot of seafood on the menu that might make for some nauseating smells. But I’d go back for brunch, without question – even if there were an obnoxious number of hipsters who think that leggings  = pants.

Oke, gw mengalami kemandekan untuk ingin menulis sesuatu yang banyak berkecambah di kepala gw. Bukan karena nggak ada ide, ide banyak banget sampe ketumpuk di handphone bahkan mungkin gw buang nggak tau kemana. Masalahnya adalah gw merasa waktu yang ada mulai membatasi keinginan gw untuk menyalurkan apa yang gw pikirkan ke dalam bentuk tulisan. Biasanya gw cepat terganggu oleh beberapa masalah yang berujung untuk dituliskan sebagai bentuk dari self defense mechanism gw haha. Dulu gw bisa menargetkan dalam seminggu gw harus menulis 1 hal paling nggak supaya gw nggak kelabakan, atau nggak males mikir. Ya tapi apa mau dikata, semester ini ada beberapa goal-goal yang ingin gw kejar dalam waktu singkat, sehingga banyak priority lain yang mesti gw dahulukan.

Sekarang ini gw memasuki tahun ke-3 gw berkuliah di psikologi. Gw mulai merasa banyak yang menarik. Nggak baru mulai sih kayaknya term yang tepat, hmm ya mungkin bisa dibilang semakin menarik. Kenapa gw bilang menarik? Karena setiap membaca buku gw mendapati bahwa inilah kesalahan gw selama ini ataupun perasaan kayak ”iya juga sih”. Cukup mengganggu tapi berharga dan menyenangkan juga kok rata-rata. Menariknya lagi adalah sudah banyak hal-hal yang bisa gw refleksi dari keseluruhan gw menjalani hidup sejauh ini.

Sehubungan dengan peminatan yang gw ambil di semester gw yang sekarang, gw banyak menjalin relationship dengan essay dan tentunya gw juga akan semakin membina kedekatan dengan buku-buku. Gw bukan anak rajin ke perpus nyariin buku atau apalah, gw baca yang bisa ajalah supaya urusan gw dilancarkan yang kuasa, bisa Tuhan bisa juga dosen haha. Gw mendapati sebuah buku berjudul How Good Parents Raise Great Kids yang harus dijadikan tema untuk essay psikologi sekolah gw. Dari sekian poin-poin yang ada gw tertancap pada satu poin yang menekankan tentang self-esteem. Basi emang, ketancep self-esteem baru semester 5 mennnnn basi banget sementara dari awal mula menginjakkan kaki di psikologi lo langsung ketemu sama kata itu. Tapi yang berbeda kali ini gw mulai mencoba buka mata buka hati untuk merefleksikan si self-esteem ini ke dalam diri gw berdasarkan pengalaman-pengalaman yang ada, ciehhh… haha

Oke definisi singkatnya dari self esteem dari How Good Parents Raise Great Kids itu adalah mental picture people have of themselves, the sense of self that comes from feeling capable and competent, the inner feeling of “okayness” and adequacy that lies deep in the psyche. Hm, mungkin gampangannya bisa diterjemahin juga jadi sense of self-worth atau kepercayaan bahwa diri kita berharga. Yah liat dari komponennya dari definisi tersebut adalah  feeling capable dan competent dalam menjalani hidup. Outputnya sebenernya orang-orang dengan self-esteem yang baik akan cenderung merasa bahwa dirinya sudah berharga dan dia akan merasa bahagia menjalani hidup apa adanya. Asik ya? Nggak semua orang lho bisa, contohnya gw, gw pernah ada dalam masa-masa suram dengan self-esteem rendah dalam kurun waktu yang lama haha. Percaya sama gw itu nggak baik untuk kesehatan, kalo kata bukunya sih itu bisa menjerumuskan lo ke jurang pergaulan yang tidak baik haha yah klisenya begitu, tapi rata-rata klise itu benar, ya walaupun seperti banyak klise lainnya, klise juga nggak selalu benar haha silahkan dipikir sendiri anda klise yang mana.

Hmm, suatu hari saat gw membuka-buka twitter gw menemukan sebuah tweet yang gw lupa ditulis Tasia atau Andret yang tulisannya ”Gw ingin kembali ke masa SMA gw dengan diri gw yang sekarang dan teman-teman yang sekarang”. (sorry ya Tas, ndrett gw kutip-kutip aja haha). Gw terdiam cukup lama setelah membaca kalimat itu. Mungkin sih terakadang nggak cuma masa SMA, gw mau kembali ke masa-masa dulu dengan diri gw yang sekarang, mungkin juga dengan kualitas teman-teman yang sekarang. Yah tapi nggak apple to apple sih kalo gw melihat lagi lebih dekat.

Anyway, masih terekam dengan jelas semua kejadian masa lalu yang nggak enak di kepala gw, ya yang menggembirakan juga masih terekam sih, tapi yang nggak enak kan biasanya goresannya cukup lama haha. Di beberapa buku yang gw baca, peer-pressure memiliki korelasi dengan tinggi-rendahnya self-esteem seseorang. Ketika memasuki usia-usia remaja, pendapat orang lain mengenai diri kita itu ngaruhnya banyak. Kalo liat dari gw sendiri sih banyak hal yang coba gw sesuaikan dan gw batasi walaupun nggak sesuai kata hati gw supaya ya gw nggak tersingkir-tersingkir amat dari kehidupan. Gw terganggu dengan hal-hal kecil, dengan omongan orang-orang mengenai penampilan si A si B atau si C ataupun dengan mendengar bahwa gw diomongin apalah dari belakang dan sekian hal lainnya. Dan tepat sekali komen orang-orang itu ngaruh banget dan hampir setiap hari gw mengalami anxiety yang besar dalam hal-hal kecil. Mulai dari penampilan paling gampang, pembawaan, bahkan cara berpikir. Damn it, itu salah satu kebegoan gw juga, mungkin waktu itu masih labil aja. Ketika usia 12-14an itu mengganggu, ketika 15-17 gw udah mulai bisa milih sendiri dan nggak terlalu takut. Usia 18-sekarang gw serasa lepas dari kandang berasa free free freee gw lebih bahagia. Gw yakin beberapa teman juga merasakan hal yang serupa karena udah sering diobrolin juga kan ya enak dan nggak enaknya sekarang dan dulu.

Dalam tulisan ini gw nggak akan melakukan displacement dengan menyalahkan pihak-pihak tertentu yang mendukung terganggunya self-esteem gw sehingga ada beberapa penyesalan karena tindakan-tindakan gw menjadi limited. Sisi baiknya adalah sebuah kenegativan bisa di-reframe untuk dilihat positifnya jadi gw tau sekarang untung ruginya. Lingkungan yang sekarang lebih membuat gw berpikir terbuka kalo dalam kehidupan dan kenyataan sebenarnya penampilan, pemikiran, dan pembawaan punya keunikan sendiri-sendiri bagi masing-masing orang. Ternyata what the hell banget tertekan karena merasa si A lebih cantik dari gw ataupun lebih pinter ataupun lebih anggun. Ternyata nggak semua bisa diukur cuma dari fisik, jadi gw belakangan suka ketawa kalo inget dulu gw dan beberapa temen suka serem dan waswas mendengar temen-temen gw ada yang yah mungkin suka nge-label si A jelek bangetlah, badannya nggak okelah, dan lalalala sehingga berujung pada penghindaran massal khas kelabilan kehidupan. Belom tentu men 5 taun lagi dari sekarang orang yang lo omongin itu become nothing. Gw sudah mulai sirik dengan keberadaan mereka. Mereka yang berhasil meng-improve dirinya, memaksimalkan potensinya, dan sekarang bukti nyatanya dapat dilihat dari keberhasilan mereka di dunia sosial.

Barusan adalah pembicaraan gw dengan beberapa orang baru dan teman-teman lama yang sekarang udah berubah banget karena keberhasilan adaptasinya di kehidupan yang baru. Karena itulah gw mendapatkan pencerahan. Ohh iya sih gw bodoh berlarut-larut selama ini mengasihani diri gw sendiri, mencari-cari terus kekurangan gw, ini dia kenapa masalah gw nggak selesai-selesai, nilainya C- ngulang terus, masih ada proses pembelajaran yang belom selesai. Fine sebenarnya gw tetep harus nyari, tapi mungkin sekarang gw harus bisa lebih mengakali bagaimana mengurangi ataupun menambal kekurangan tersebut. Gw mencoba mengobrol dengan berbagai macam orang yang gw nilai positive thinkingnya besar luar biasa dan gw bersyukur gw hidup dan mengenal teman-teman gw yang sekarang dan juga yang dulu. Gw nggak perlu jadi emo-emo nggak jelas tiap 5 menit sekali berkeluh kesah. Gw sudah bisa mulai mengotaki dengan lebih baik mana yang harus gw simpan dan mana yang harus gw keluarkan kalo udah mulai penuh. Terkadang gw masih ngeluh gw kurang di sana-sini tapi yaudahlah.

Seseorang ngomong sama gw, ”Bahaya lho kalo lo terus bilang ke diri lo sendiri lo nggak bisa apa-apa, lo punya potensi, kompetensi ada, tinggal gimana cara lo menggalinya aja.” Gw rasa semua orang juga begitu adanya dan sekarang gw perlahan-perlahan mencoba berjalan mencari pencerahannya dan menuju titik terangnya.

Yah intinya terimakasih kepada masa lalu gw yang berkontribusi besar terhadap reduksi self-esteem gw sekaligus berkontribusi besar dalam membuat gw berefleksi kesalahan apa yang telah gw perbuat, dari kalian gw belajar sangat banyak, so then i can move forward. Dan terimakasih masa sekarang yang dengan sangat baiknya memberitahu gw don`t get swallowed by the shadow, so that i have to produce light to shine by my ownself.

Hm, apa gw mau kembali ke masa lalu dengan diri gw yang sekarang? Haha tidak..sudah saatnya gw berbagi dengan orang lain dan nggak mengurusi diri gw sendiri lagi. Terima kasih semua teman-teman dan orang-orang yang pernah gw kenal, I love you full deh =).. semoga kadar ke-nggakpentingan pemikiran gw bisa berkurang haha .-fin

While traveling in another country it always is important to keep up with the latest news stories that are coming out back home. It always is good to understand what news coverage is being focused on and if there is any actually reference of even basic understanding that the UNFCCC process is happening here in Bangkok. Before even getting to check into the usual news sources and to my surprise upon on many social networking platforms from Facebook to Twitter there seemed to be a large amount of people talking about the Prime Minister of Canada Singing A Beatles cover of “With a Little Help from My Friends.

The selected cover song could not have been a better selection to showcase the lack of action from Canada as well as some of the countries “Friends” throughout the first week of the very important process to address the impacts that climate change is having globally. While I understand that supporting the arts is very important I do think that with some of the past actions on cutting funding to many of the major arts programs in Canada the actions of the Prime Minister are making a total mockery of the United Nations process since there has been such a hands off approach on working along with the other 191 member states to address one of the largest barriers in the world to ensuring the safety of all living things. No matter which way you sing it Canada ratified the Kyoto Protocol and has to stand behind the key principals and the process of the UNFCCC no matter how important the current Prime Minister thinks our domestic oil sands industry is to our countries relationship with our “Friends.”

“Recognizing that developed countries are principally responsible for the current high levels of GHG emissions in the atmosphere as a result of more than 150 years of industrial activity, the Kyoto Protocol places a heavier burden on developed nations under the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities.”

Everyone from the mainstream media to the blogs are talking about it. He is getting a lot of accolades from some traditionally nasty places. The Canadians are just thrilled with their conservative prime minister. He’s an economist, so he knows how to run the country. I wish he was my President! When you look at the jobs lost during the current recession, it’s quite clear that we are doomed.

Lemon Soup – With A Little Help From My Friends

The Mersey Sound Wave crashed into the Cavern Club on Tuesday, September 22 as another massive step was taken towards achieving the dream of exhibiting 100 guitars that have all been played at the world famous Cavern Club.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of teachers and children from Beacon CE Primary School in Liverpool, a fantastic show took place at the birthplace of The Beatles.

Children from Beacon became The Beacles for the afternoon as students from Years 4, 5, and 6 played guitars, sung, and danced to the classic Beatles tracks Yellow Submarine, With A Little Help From My Friends, Twist and Shout, and A Hard Days Night.

They thrilled their parents and watching tourists at the famous venue and their hard work was rewarded with souvenir guitars and badges.

Head teacher Sally Aspinwall pledged the school’s full support to Bill Hart’s idea and promised to help in anyway they can over the next 18 months to two years.

The school donated the guitars used during their performance for submission into Bill Hart’s exhibition which he hopes to display in 2011 at a location in Liverpool. Click here to find out more.

The Mersey Sound Wave is headed for the home of The Beatles next Tuesday, 22 September 2009.

Bill Hart’s dream of exhibiting 100 guitars that have all been played at the world famous Cavern Club is taking shape with the help of children from Liverpool primary school.

The birthplace of The Beatles will play host to children from the Beacon Church of England Primary School as the youngsters take their own place in rock and roll history.

Students from Years 4, 5, and 6 (8-11 years old) will be playing guitars, singing and dancing to the classic Beatles tracks Yellow Submarine, With A Little Help From My Friends, Twist and Shout, and A Hard Days Night.

Their guitars will then be eligible for submission to Hart’s grand project to exhibit 100 guitars in the shape of a Mersey Sound Wave in Liverpool in 2011.

Sally Aspinwall, headteacher at Beacon Primary says: “The children are really excited to actually get to sing Beatles songs at the home of the Beatles!

“The Mersey Sound Wave project is a great way for children to begin to understand the impact that the Beatles had on Liverpool as a city and also how internationally the band helped raise the positive profile of the city.

“These children have only just started playing the guitar and this has really inspired them to practice and also get involved in live music.”

As well as the children, members of the public are invited to take part in the open day. They can come along, strum a few chords at the famous venue and then submit their guitar for inclusion in Bill Hart’s project.

This is a list of my favourite live performances.

It is not a list about my favourite bands, songs or concerts, it is a list about those little clips that fascinate us for its power, or how the moment was recorded or the way the musicians felt the song that time or a combination of all of the above.

Obviously, it’s not only about the song or the band as the audience and how it was filmed or edited play a major part on how we’ll remember it.

The irony of this is that a live performance is meant to be something organic and dynamic, yet what we remember is the footage. Specific moments filmed by someone, and projected in our screens that set in stone the memory of that moment.

Probably like most of other people, my favourite live performances are some I actually never attended to.

I’ve been to my fare cut of live music, from small indie gigs in some London club to the big festivals and open air concerts in the park. But it’s these selection of clips from concerts that make the list of my favourite live performances, not organic and not dynamic but set in stone youtube and my memory.

Kashmir – Led Zeppelin

From their last concert, their best song, at the top of their game and probably wearing the worst cloths any music legend has ever used on stage.

Kid A – Radiohead

When we think about ‘Live’ music we think about organic sound, with guitars blasting through the speakers and an easy to sing-along.

I’ve seen them several times live already, and got lots of concerts on DVDs and I’ve never seen them play Kid A like in here.

Radiohead proves why they are one of the best bands on the planet.

A lot has been said about U2 lately, I’m not going to get into the argument here. This performance from ‘Rattle and Hum‘ still is one of the best live performances we have on film.

What is different about the video above from the original live recording is someone has added lyrics matching what it sounds like Joe is singing. e.g. A couple lines are…

I’d like to also point out that although Joe Cocker’s rendition is famous, the song was originally written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released on The Beatles album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. Joe’s cover is good, but so is the original. It is difficult to say which one I like more.

YouTube is a great place to pick out the unmissable little gems from programmes that you wouldn’t necessarily want to watch on TV. A good example is X-Factor – the YouTube channel shows the highlights from the best singers, without having to sit through the whole thing, with its adverts, foot-dragging, tension-mounting and Ant or Dec hug-giving.

In just 2 short weeks, Stacey Solomon from Dagenham has accrued more that 3-million views on YouTube, singing  Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World.

In the same time, Danyl Johnson’s rendition of With A Little Help From My Friends has garnered him more than 4-million views on YouTube. Mind you, 6 of those were me.

But these impressive figures are still dwarfed by ITV’s wrap of Susan Boyle’s April 2009 audition (I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables), which has had, to date, more tha 74-million views.

It shows the first time Susan walked out onto the stage:

En mi opinión, y como tal muy subjetiva, principalmente porque los estilos musicales comercialmente predominantes, mainstream y más aceptados en España tienden a ser un coñazo son otros. Algo que se plasma año tras año en los cansinos y tan patrios “OT”s, o en nuestra no tan brillante, aunque esforzada, versión de Factor X.

Atentos a la potencia, carisma y estilo del chaval, a quien parece obvio que su pasado como profesor le da soltura y le ayuda a ganarse y mover a la gente. Se hace amo de la escena y del ambiente  en instantes. Puro talento. Habrá que seguirle la pista.

Com 27 anos, bem parecido e com tudo para vencer, Danyl Johnson precisou apenas de alguns momentos em palco para arrebatar as atenções do júri e dos espectadores de “X Factor”, programa com contornos parecidos ao de “Ídolos”.

Com o tema “With A Little Help From My Friends”, dos Beatles, o professor de teatro e dança de Reading, a Oeste de Londres, apareceu na primeira audiência da nova época do concurso de talentos e foi imediatamente descrito pelo criador do programa como “o melhor ‘performer’ que já vi numa primeira audição”, afirmou Simon Cowell.

O “casting” foi transmitido na televisão britânica no passado sábado mas o vídeo já correu o Mundo através do You Tube. Mais de 3 milhões de pessoas já viram a performance do britânico na internet e o sucesso já atravessou para o outro lado do Atlantico com a NBC a entrevistar o cantor no programa Today.

Johnson canta há cerca de 10 anos mas, afirmou, “já tinha abandonado o sonho”. Foram os alunos do jovem de 27 anos que o convenceram a concorrer ao X Factor. “As crianças apoiam-me imenso e insistiram para concorrer. Agora estou muito contente por ter seguido o conselho”, afirmou Johnson que já havia concorrido ao programa em 2006 mas foi eliminando antes de ter oportunidade de cantar diante dos júris.

In het Verenigd Koninkrijk is het nieuwe seizoen van The X-Factor begonnen. Dat betekent dat er weer heel wat filmpjes op Youtube gaan verschijnen van de kandidaten. En in de eerste aflevering zat al meteen een prestatie van formaat.

Danyl Johnson, een leraar van beroep, bracht er ‘With a little help from my friends’ van Joe Cocker. Als je naar het optreden van Danyl kijkt lijkt het alsof hij al heel zijn leven op een podium heeft gestaan.

Simon Cowell noemde zijn prestatie dan ook niet voor niets ‘De beste eerste auditie die hij ooit gezien heeft’.
