The past is to learn from, the future is to look forward too, but the present is where we live. 

I look back through different time periods of my life and can see that there were times when I worked extremely hard to get things done, the sense of accomplishment when you actually finish a task and get to see the completed work is a wonderful feeling.

I also have periods of wandering around, trying to find my next path.  If I don’t stop and really think about those periods in my life it seems like a lot of wasted time just reading, walking, watching television, or wondering.  Although, there were some wasted days, there were many more that were used to try to get a handle on which way to go and what project or task to tackle next. 

I know in my life, sometimes I have to take time to just wander.  It’s in those moments when I am wandering that I find enlightenment, my creativity and then later, my next path.  J. R. R. Tolkien said, “Not all who wander are lost.”  I firmly believe and identify with that.  Sometimes I need to wander a bit to find my way.

Looking back there is another interesting thing I found from time to time on this journey.  There were times when I simply waited to do something because I was waiting for approval.  I have tried to justify that, but basically that is what happened in several places in my life, what’s more is I found that there were times that if I did not get the approval or validation from someone, then I quit and never pursued that interest.  Now, that’s just silly isn’t it? 

I can say that now, much later, I look back and think, “Wow that is so sad because I really wanted to do that.”  The question becomes, did I want to do it?  I must not have wanted it very much because I just quit and never pursued it. 

I was taught from an early age to seek approval.  My parents then would “help” me by telling me everything that could, would, should, go wrong, any reasons why I should not pursue the interest and whether or not they approved, usually with a “do what you want to do, but I’m not sure I would.”

I realize that this sort of method does actually work well for some people, but it has never really worked for me.  So, I have had to learn to approach new interests and projects from a different perspective – one that is entirely on my own shoulders and that has been intimidating, but interesting too.

It is amazing how much progress you can make when you get out of your own way and know that the only person that really has to approve, is you.

Just came across the blog and I believe to now be home. I would love to partake in the production of these fine, cathartic  (in both senses of the word…)  installments but will be away from the allure of the monitor for most of the coming summer. Andy Samberg wears some short shorts on the set of his new movie called Grown Ups 2 on May 29 in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Samberg got all wet while shooting a car wash scene.

It has been released that Erin Heatherton is joining the cast of Grown Ups 2.  Also starring in the film is Adam Sandler, Taylor Lautner, Chris Rock, and more.

The comedy is slated to hit theaters next year.

Alexander Ludwig was spotted on set of Grown Ups 2 with a mustache and goatee on May 31 in Boston Massachusetts.

Ludwig was also showing chest and arm tattoos while wearing a red plaid sleeveless shirt. Ludwig plays David Spade’s son.

Also starring in the comedy sequel as Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider.

The film is directed by Dennis Dugan who also directed the first film.

Check out the first on-set pics of Emma Watson filming the apocalyptic comedy titled End of the World in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 31.

Watson will be playing herself and in the pics can be seen running out of a building with singer Rihanna.

The film is set to be released in 2013 and stars Jason Segel, Danny McBride, Mindy Kaling, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen. This is Rogen’s directorial debut film.

The film’s synopsis is the following: While attending a party at James Franco’s house, Seth, Jay Baruchel, and many other celebrities are faced with the apocalypse.

In the preview, you can see Watson as Sam, with an American accent and talking with Logan Lerman’s character of Sam.

The film features Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller and is directed by Stephen Chbosky.

The film will be hitting theaters on limited time on September 14.

The film is a funny and touching coming-of-age story based on the best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being A Wallflower is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up.

Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, The Perks of Being A Wallflower is a moving tale of love, loss, fear and hope– and the unforgettable friends that help us through life.

The film will be based of on the graphic novel called “Button Man: The Killing Game” which was written by John Wagner and illustrated by Arthur Ranson.

What is it about? It centers around hired gun Harry Exton, who is offered a substantial sum to perform for rich men in a game where trained killers fight to the death. Choosing to opt out of the twisted battle royale, Exton’s only choice may be to go up against the powerful audience of the games.

Refn has reunited back with Ryan Gosling on the Thailand-based drama film called Only God Forgives which is set for a release in early 2013.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. Pictures has attached Sherlock Holmes director Guy Ritchie to direct the upcoming film titled Treasure Island with Alex Harakis set to write a new draft of the script.

Ritchie will also be producing the adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel with his partner Lionel Wigram and Langley Park’s Kevin McCormick.

Back when the project was first announced, it was said that they wanted to update the 19th century tale for contemporary audiences, playing up the relationship between Long John Silver and narrator Jim Hawkins.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence.

Here’s the synopsis: Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Oscar nominee Elizabeth Shue; LEAVING LAS VEGAS, PIRANHA 3D) and her daughter Elissa (Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence; X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, WINTER’S BONE) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. Back in March, Tom Felton attended Perez Hilton birthday party and he had the chance to talk with PopStopTV about The Hunger Games film. If you didn’t know, casting for the second installment has started and there has been some rumors about actors like Taylor Kitsch, Garrett Hedlund, Robert Pattinson and Armie Hammer to play heartthrob Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but according to PopStopTV they have some sources that those actors are not the only ones considered by Lionsgate.

One of the actor who’s been getting tons of buzz lately for his upcoming film titled The Apparition has been Felton himself. And the British star told them that he’d be very interested in playing the role.Felton is indeed a fan of The Hunger Games, he said:

“I was there at the ‘Hunger Games’ premiere. I was very impressed. My girlfriend is an avid reader of the books and told me that I had to go and see this film. It’s awesome. It speaks for itself and the I can’t wait for the next one.”

The question is: would he want a part in Catching Fire? I’m pretty sure. Positive.

“For sure. I’ve been reading into this Finnick character. He’s a pretty awesome character. You never know! Fingers crossed. One day, you never know.”

 

But I’ve read that not only Felton is the same age as Finnick, but has some pretty stunning eyes, brown hair, which makes him very close to Finnick’s physical description. His arrogant mannerisms and attitude as he did with Draco in the Harry Potter franchise can convince that he could play the role.

Well, British actor Benedict Cumberbatch known for playing the iconic role of Sherlock Holmes in BBC’s drama Sherlock has quite some upcoming projects.

He will appear in a Brad Pitt movie along with Michael Fassbender. The movie tells the real-life story of Solomon Northup, a black man sold into slavery after being enticed to Washington in the 1850s.

What character will Cumberbatch play? He will play a plantation owner who buys Solomon, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, and is impressed by his engineering skills.

The real Solomon was set free after a Canadian visitor to the plantation smuggled letters to his wife, leading to a controversial court case. Steve McQueen will be the director.

Also, Cumberbatch has been working lately on J.J Abram’s Star Trek sequel with Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock and Simon Pegg as Scotty.

1. The Dashboard shows “Forms” followed underneath by Edit Forms, New Forms, Entries, Settings, Import/Export, and Updates.

2. A click on Forms and a page called Edit Forms appears. Next to the Edit Forms a box in grey exists called – Add New

4. Move the cursor to the name of a form and the following appears in blue – Edit, Preview, Entries, Notification, Duplicate, and Delete.

7. Click on the “Add New “box that follows “Edit Forms” at the top of the page.

8. The page shows “Untitled Form and some other material (“We would love to hear from you……shortly”) appears. In the following paragraphs, the phrase “the material” covers the words in the brackets in this paragraph.

9. Move the cursor to the material and a dashed line box appears that surrounds all” the material”. It has “Edit” and “Delete Form” at the top right.

10. Clicking “Close” closes the Form Settings page.

11. Click “Edit” and a blue-bordered form appears. called “Form Settings” plus the material ON the far right icons for “Close “and Delete Form” exist on the same line… Next the box shows the material.

12. On the next line the following three options appear – Properties, Advanced, and Confirmation

14. The Advanced option shows a Form button with the next line showing Default and Image with radio buttons besides each one.

15. The title panel allows the deletion and addition of material. In the panel.

17. Near the bottom of the form, the title “Label Placement” exists. It has a menu with three options – Top Alignment. Left Alignment, and Right Alignment.

18. Click the blue box titled “Save Form” that appears at the bottom of the page. This box appears at the bottom of each of the three options listed in paragraph X

19. A white page appears that states – “You have successfully saved your form” – with four options – Preview this form, Set up Email Notification for this Form, Continue Editing this form, and Return to Form List.

20. A Preview shows the material entered – “Edit this form”.  In addition, it opens with four options – Continue Editing, ……………..,   …………., and ……….. .

21. It also shows the field options on the right starting with “Single Line Text.

22. Click “Paragraph Text” and a box open “Untitled just above the box.

23. When the cursor goes into the box, an inner faint box appears Plus “Edit” and “Delete” at the top right.

24. A blue=edged panel opens.  The cursor can delete and insert material.

The Drop-Down Option

25. It opens a page that shows “untitled” followed on the next lines by first choice in a box formed by a faintly dottedline.

26. Then Update form.

27. Move cursor into the area and at the top right shows Edit and Delete

28. The next line shows two panels – Properties and Advanced. The non-operational one appears in grey.

29. The field label shows Untitled without the “the material”.

30. The next lines show First choice, Second Choice and Third choice/

31. At the start of each of these three rows, radio buttons exist. ON the far right two small circles exist.

32. The first one includes a plus “+”. The next one includes a minus “-“.

33. A click on the Plus for any one row adds panel below the chosen row.

34. The minus deletes the name in the panel.

35. Click in any of the radio buttons and a green dot appears in it. The dot can only exist in one of the rows at a time.

36. A panel below shows “Bulk Area and …

37. Bulk has ten options starting with Countries, US states and down to Job Type and industry.

38. Click on any one of the ten options and the selected choice appears in the choice area.  It will list all of the options from any one of the ten options.

I wish I would have become a brain surgeon, yes a brain surgeon! I would understand how the brain works much better than I do now. If I didn’t get it or understand it, I could go in and make changes. LOL. I am just here to blog tonight, only because I am amazed at how the brain works!

I blogged earlier today, asking for help for my brother and me. Without going further with the same blog from today, I want to comment on how amazed I always am at Al’s brain.

I stated earlier on how I often wonder if he understands and comprehends what I am saying to him as we talk about God and Satan. Sometimes as I leave his bedroom, I am the one more confused.

Tonight, he is in a good mood. The tears dried up from last night and this morning, and he is back to laughing at the animal commercials and people on the television. He is watching Jeopardy now. I am minding my own business, but I can hear him right behind me.

To me this game is beyond me. It is smarter than I am and I do not like knowing that I am dumber than I thought! LOL. On the other hand, Al, loves this show and in most days, he looks forward to it. I am amazed. The tough questions are being asked and the players sometimes know them and sometimes draw a blank, and in the background I hear Al peeling off the answers quite often, and hearing from Alex, yes, you are correct. Al will sit here and laugh, telling the television, you thought you had me on that didn’t you Alex, you can’t fool me, I knew the answer! How can this be?

Did we not eat the same breakfast cereals each morning? Did mom put something extra in his vitamins that I didn’t get? You know, he is smarter than I am. His memory, although he has dementia, is much better than mine, and yet I can not seem to get across to him about Satan being mean and God being good.

It just amazes me, the brain and how it works. The cells making all the right connections to the right areas, and although a big seizure has destroyed many of his cells, he is still so smart. Doctors have determined years ago that he is mentally challenged. Mental challenge does not affect the whole brain, just parts of it. I have worked with mentally challenged people before and I have always noticed that there are areas that they shine brighter in than others.

I hate labels. Genius, mentally challenged, disabled, weird, different, odd. The only way my brain can define this, is we all have stronger areas in our brains that seem to outshine more than other areas.To me, the only correct label here is unique. We are all human beings with brains, but each of us unique.

Well, like I said, I wish I was a brain surgeon, because I would be able to change things in my own head. I would make the change that would allow me to understand more of what is being said. I would be able to completely “get it” when Al starts in on his negativity. I would know the reasoning behind it, and with a quick thought, I would fix it.

Remember the old- time scary movie, Brains? This is how I am feeling now. Brains, brains, I want more brains! LOL

Those of you who follow what I do over at the Squadron of Shame may have already noticed that some changes have been going on recently.

First up, longtime mainstay hosts of our podcast Chris Whittington and Jeff Parsons have moved on from their presenting duties to host their own show. Too Old For This… is a show for ageing, busy geeks who still like to keep up to date with the latest happenings in comics, games, movies, music and beer (lots of beer), and it’s a great listen. Chris and Jeff have a great dynamic together and their show deserves your support.

With Chris and Jeff out of the podcasting picture over at the Squad, we’re going to be doing a lot more in the way of our traditional “mission” podcasts whereby we investigate a “shameworthy” game thoroughly and then discuss it at great length. This decision came about partly due to the success of our show on Katawa Shoujo, which attracted a bunch of new listeners and community members, but also because it’s something we’ve always done well — and something which is still very distinctive in the crowded world of gaming podcasts. That’s not to say we won’t be doing any more “topic” shows or “genre primers” — but a bunch of listeners have been clamouring for more “missions” for a while now, so it’s time to give them what they want.

The long-term goal for the Squadron of Shame has always been to be a place for mature, wordy, niche-loving geeks to call home. The “Squawkbox”, our freeform discussion board which I set up temporarily several years ago using WordPress. has been a good start to that, but I figured it was time we took it to the next level. We have a number of talented writers among our ranks, so I thought we should showcase that fact a little better. And those who don’t want to write will certainly appreciate some interesting things to read and comment on.

Enter our new experimental Articles section, in which long-form articles can be presented, featured and archived separately from the main Squawkbox discussion. They still appear in the main feed, but have their own dedicated sections now. Over time, this part of the site will hopefully become populated with numerous long-form pieces from our members (and guests) about things they think are truly “Shameworthy”. The categories I’ve put in place so far are largely games-focused, but there’s no reason this can’t expand to other media over time — the joy of using WordPress is that it’s easy to tweak, poke and rejig everything as the need presents itself.

I’m excited about what the future might hold for our little site, and this is the first step towards that bright future. Be sure to drop by, join the conversation and let us know what you think.

Right so I left you last with some lovely pictures of “An Ordinary life”. Now I really enjoyed that and working with Good Guys Productions was a real delight! Now apparently the feeling was mutual because out of the blue one night I get a call from Mr Guy (at about half 10 in the evening I might add) and he offers me another days work! I mean kerching!

That my friends is when luck is on your side! It was a very awesome experience where I was given the very fun task of recording the interviews of a whole load of american exchange students. I got the impression however that they hadn’t been interviewed before due to the look of terror when they saw there was some English kid holding a boom inches away from their face. Fortunately my grip was true and there were no Mic to Face injuries.

After that great experience University was the most pressing concern on my mind so I trudged on with that always looking for my next challenge. Finally after literally weeks my mate and fellow owner of Simmer Down Productions found us a Filming Gig at the Dogma Bar in reading ironically filming the Gig of the Up and coming band Out side room. It was a night to remember and we came away with an excellent short film!

And so we are almost to the end but only a week I was given the opportunity to work on a very sweet Production from the 822 Guys (http://822productions.co.uk/ - check em out!) and was able to work again with my old mate Matt Markham. There were plenty of jolly laughs over the week even through the unbearable heat (reached 27 degrees Celsius in a windowless/door-less room with 8 other sweaty people :-/), so yeah good times. I do hope that I will be able to bring out some pictures of that shoot soon but you know how things are, I do all the sound and all that but do I get pictures? Probably not Haha!

Anyways guys that is a brief recount of a great last couple of months, I hope you feel filled in on all the exciting tings!

My thoughts about being with you grows more and more and sometimes it just drives me so crazy. Waiting for the day when we’ll finally get together just defines everything that I have right now. If that will happen, it’s as if everything will be complete. There isn’t anything in the world right now that I would want the most – it’s ONLY YOU.

Baby, I know that I’ve been telling you that I love you each and every day and I am unsure if you’re getting irritated by it. Hehe. All I wanted to do is to tell you that for the rest of my life as what I feel for you is true. Never have I felt this way before and never have I treated someone so special like this. I am loving what I am doing as time progresses and that my love for you grows with it. You don’t need to worry about anything as I’ll incline my promises with my actions. I’ll not only say it, I’ll absolutely do it – especially if it’s going to be for you. I’d do everything, anything. You’re so special to me, baby. You’re one in a million. I am happy that you are now considering YOURS for the taking and that you wanted our relationship to last forever. Thank you so much baby and I love you so much. I’ll never get tired telling you that as you deserve all of that.
