PlayStation Network, often abbreviated as PSN, is an online multiplayer gaming and digital media delivery service provided/run by Sony Computer Entertainment for use with the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita video game consoles. The PlayStation Network is the video game portion of the Sony Entertainment Network.

User registration
Registration is performed via the PlayStation 3 console, a PlayStation Portable, a PlayStation Vita, or a PC. Two types of accounts can be created; Master accounts and Sub accounts. Master accounts allow full access to all settings, including parental control, but the Master must be over the age of 18 to create an account. Sub accounts can subsequently be created with desired restrictions set by the master account holder.[31]
Since Master/Sub accounts are not linked to the PlayStation 3 serial number, which allows users to buy and sell used consoles, they can be used with different consoles as a guest user; therefore a single console can have multiple Master accounts. Although unregistered users can access and browse the PlayStation Store, registration is required to purchase items. Once purchased, items can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store to up to two consoles. However, if the owner account is deleted from a console, the content becomes invalid and is locked.
PlayStation Network launched in November 2006 to coincide with the launch of the PlayStation 3 console in North America and Japan. Due to the delay of the European launch to March 2007, Sony allowed residents of Europe to pre-register their PlayStation Network via PC in order to reserve their favored PSN ID, allowing them to quickly retrieve their details on the day of release.

Trophies
“Trophies” are an achievement tracking system, introduced to the PlayStation 3 in system software update 2.40 in July 2008. The portable console PlayStation Vita is the second console to feature Trophy support for games.
There are four different types of Trophies awarded—bronze, silver, gold, and platinum—which are awarded to players for making specific accomplishments (e.g. completing a level or defeating a certain number of enemies) or reaching certain milestones in games (e.g. reaching a “pro” rank online). Developers can also choose to make certain Trophies hidden so that the Trophy’s value, title and description are not shown until the user has unlocked it. A gold, silver, or bronze Trophy is normally awarded based on the difficulty of the accomplishment with each Trophy contributing to a ‘level’ system linked to a player’s PlayStation Network profile,[55] with gold Trophies contributing more experience level advancement than silver, and silver contributing more experience than bronze. A platinum Trophy is automatically awarded to the player once they unlock all other Trophies in a game, excluding extra Trophies that can only be obtained through downloadable content, and contribute more experience than a gold Trophy. However, smaller games such as certain PlayStation Network titles, lack a platinum Trophy. Trophies are displayed on a player’s PlayStation Network profile screen, which also shows their Trophy level.
As of the beginning of January 2009, Trophy support has become mandatory for all PlayStation 3 games submitted to Sony for certification. Many games from before this period have been given Trophies by updates.

Did you know that Prince released 6 albums by the time he was 23, including Prince, Controversy & Purple Rain.  His talent blows my mind.  30 years on, he is still touring the world and making records.  Prince appreciation station right here.

Back to the Wednesday Website Wack purpose, to introduce websites of note, Prince has inspired the search for quality prints.

Art is in the eyes of the beholder as ever and most importantly it doesn’t require over intellectualising, it is about the feelings evoked when we are engaged with creativity, whether our own or someone else’s. I go to galleries to engage with texture and originality wherever possible and I buy prints because I find original art pieces completely unaffordable (for the most part).  I buy prints to support artists and causes in line with my means and ultimately to colour my rented walls.  Prints of notable and emerging artists have been dotting the net for sometime but the last few years has seen a real push for online galleries that support artists and offer a percentage of sale proceeds to a charitable organisation of the artist’s choice.  I think this is a perfect synergy and I have purchased many pieces recognising that I my numbered piece is contributing to creativity and a good cause.

Tiny Showcase was my first foray into this style of gallery and they have introduced me to so many great works.  They release one work per week and continue publicity in their gallery until the piece is sold out. I have my very own Jen Corace (which raised over $11K for the Gulf Restoration Network following the BP spill) and Sarajo Frieden pieces, now framed and ready for the nursery wall.

In a very similar vein, Working Proof cojoins the works of artists with charities, creating art that intrinsically holds what they call, ‘social value’.  Both these stores will set you back less than a $50 unless you are after large scale.

So not all the print suppliers are do-gooders and I haven’t found an Australian version of these websites yet, but this post would not be complete without championing the dedication to creativity executed by Abi Crompton at Third Drawer Down.  She has been printing original works on pillowcases, a(rt)prons and tea-towels for almost a decade.  Third Drawer Down is part gallery, museum, newsletter and wholesaler for all things incredible and best of all, it’s located in downtown Fitzroy while anything in store can be shipped anywhere.  I was gifted a David Wlazlo (sold out) artpron that sits above my bed with perfect geometric hang.

Anna Corpron and Sean Auyeung of Sub-Studio are the creative force behind Working Proof, a new limited-edition print shop with a humanitarian mission.  Every Tuesday Working Proof releases a print by an emerging artist and donates 15% of proceeds to a charity of the artist’s choice. It’s a great concept but they’ve nailed the execution as well; the artwork is fresh, exciting and diverse! They also include great bios of the artists.

Participating artists have selected the following charities:
