Call of Duty 4 is the mom who tells her kids they can run around outside for only ten more minutes, while Modern Warfare 2 is the dad who tells his kids they can run around outside for as long as they want.

You thought you had the coolest mom ever when she was in charge, especially after that time you spent with your weird uncle World at War, but now that it’s dad’s turn, playtime has never been better.

Modern Warfare 2 spoils Call of Duty 4 veterans by allowing them to have their cake and eat it too. Players can now wield an assault rifle and a shotgun or equip C4 and a rocket launcher in the same class without the use of extra perks, fire extra powerful bullets extra fast, and yes, run outside for as long as they want.

Treyarch’s idea of expanding upon the first Modern Warfare was to add a couple of new (useless) perks and tanks to World at War (which would have been better off as glorified DLC), and it sought balance by reducing access to extra grenades. Infinity Ward freed up loads of potential for customization in Modern Warfare 2 by moving around and consolidating existing perks, while incorporating new ones that find actual use.

Common online complaints against “martyrdom pussies” and “juggernaut bitches” have been taken to heart and find both abilities relegated to “death streaks,” bonuses activated only by dying repeatedly without earning a kill. Secondary weapons now include automatic pistols, rocket launchers, and shotguns but don’t require the use of a wasted perk to wield. Guns are easier to use thanks to reduced recoil, improved iron-sights, and a bevy of attachments, some of which take the place of former perks like Double Tap and Deep Impact.

Call of Duty 4 punished players for using grenade launchers by removing access to their blue perk, home to explosives like the rocket launcher and C4. Modern Warfare 2 lets the player attach a grenade launcher and wield another launcher and C4 or a claymore, which are no longer perks but equipment, all at the same time.

Challenges, random tasks worth thousands of points, unlock titles and emblems upon completion. These are used to customize your name so players can instantly know what kind of asshole killed them by reading phrases like “Boom! Headshot” or “My Lil’ Pwny.” Titles and emblems remain after wiping your slate clean to show off with prestige, allowing you to constantly expand your collection with more and more humiliating messages.

Awarding killing sprees with air strikes and gunships added an interesting dynamic to Call of Duty’s traditional multiplayer, but Modern Warfare 2 adds numerous new kill streak rewards and allows you to choose which you enter the battlefield with. Most are variations on the same theme (kill, kill, kill!), but a few have unique properties that change the way people play the game.

The only flaw in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer worth discussing is the inability to customize kill streaks per class, forcing players to stick to the same arsenal despite their changing kits. It’s a matter of not squeezing every last drop of potential out of the Call of Duty 4 sponge, but it’s not a fatal flaw.

Modern Warfare 2 does most everything it can to give you more and more, abandoning old restrictions to let its children play. It goes so far as to exponentially increase the number of points earned per kill for the sole purpose of assuring you that playtime is longer and better than before. It also has nukes in case you weren’t convinced.

If the silence and inaction from the UN  doesn’t once and for all expose that orginazation to be a toothless waste of money and time, nothing will. I want to know when the international community

is going to grow some balls and destroy that pirate paradise once and for all. It is not like we don’t know where their home base is located, and who they are, and who sponsors them.

Two hundred years ago, the nations of the world knew how to take care of pirates, maybe someone should dust of the real history books and see how it is done. The longer that nohing is done, the bolder

the pirates will get. Damn all the lawyers and the feel good rules of engagement, and take care of business.

It’s square dancing with a bunch of dudes in uniform. You’re not a ‘hustler’ and the Xbox Live street cred you gain by a higher rank won’t help when you suck at actually playing.

“The most arrogant Call of Duty kill ever”

Foreword: I’ve decided to put this tutorial back up, which was originally created by author Chyea for Call of Duty World at War. Please note that the preferred method is Tunngle. You need to update your game to the latest version. Please see my exclusive Tunngle video below.

Of course, this article is no way in shape or form created to promote piracy. There are legitimate players with legitimate users who want to play this game via LAN with their friends.  This is an educational piece, and shall be treated as one.  ~ Versatile

11-17-09: Re-release of an old article per indiscreet demand. MW2 is a better game. Does anyone care about this one?

Note: It is highly recommended you go to www.filefront.com and download ALL the game patches to update yourself t the latest version. If you need new patch files, then go to www.gamecopyworld.com.

All files have been scanned with NOD32 antivirus.

1. Download Hamachi 1.0.1.5: (the older versions are better, the newer one didn’t work for me)

2. Run Hamachi and create a virtual LAN.

3. Download this patch for the singleplayer version of the game:

This fixes the “CD key in use” issue.

4. Paste the patch into your cod5 directory, don’t need to rename or anything.

5. Both CLIENT and the HOST of the game server will use this patch to start up your game.

6. If you encounter an error involving a conflict of CD keys, download this keygen by razor http://rapidshare.com/files/162328894/rzr-c5kg.exe

and change your cd key.

Edit: In the case that you have no friends, you can join a hamachi network with more activity. There are tons of them out there, if you know any, we’d appreciate it if you posted it in the comments.

And before all my non-COD friends start bitching about how much time I actually spend playing this game, let me just say that it keeps me from going REAL LIFE postal!! LOL!!

Actually shooting virtual enemies is very calming.. much more so then those 19.00 “zen” candles I tried last year!

At any rate.. fellow COD-ers know what I’m saying.

I also promise that I won’t take is SO DAMN personally that I’ll show up on your doorstep with a virtual MP40 or AK47 or SCAR and pop your virtual melon. See what I mean about stress relieving?? LOL

Ok.. so back to the clan-thing.

Well.. technically.. it doesn’t even have to be a clan thing. People tend to get territorial over their clan tags and people NOT part of a clan tend to leave matches when a clan shows up on the opposing team.

I’m just looking for people to play with that actually KNOW how to play strategically.. without running around doing stupid things to get themselves killed and ME killed in the process.

For instance… HOLDING A FUCKING AREA!!

You don’t have to be Einstein to figure out that if your team is holding an area, the opposing team is going to come to you giving YOU the advantage of killing them first. It may not always work out that way because one well place grenade will cause major cluster-fuckage but I think you kind of get the idea.

And SNIPERS!! My god there is a need for sniping .. but the whole point of sniping is to :: gasp! :: ADVANCE YOUR TEAM FOWARD! There is nothing more frustrating then to have a sniper in a map that actually doesn’t even NEED one and having to keep respawning all the way on the other side of where the fighting is because the sniper is just sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting………………….. and sitting and sitting and getting up to go to the bathroom and then sitting some more.

And while I’m on my little mini-rant .. the other thing that gets me goat all twisted up in knots is when you’re playing strategically .. you’re getting the enemy to come to you .. and then SOMEBODY ELSE comes into your space.. shoves in front of you because.. OMG! You’re getting kills and they aren’t so they want to be where you’re at so that they can get the kills but the only thing that happens is that YOU get killed because they’re blocking your view.

See.. THAT’S why I’m not hooked up to the microphone. Too many bad words said to too many people!!

Anyway.. so I’m putting the offer out there. Me and Chief are actually really, really good :: I’m better. I know it.. he knows it.. but I still let him believe that he kicks my ass because I don’t want to hurt his feelings :: and we’re just looking to play with other people who are really really good.

So today was normal. My migraine has been with me since I woke up. Nothing exciting. I sadly have to re-do all of my physics homework for tomorrow. I hate this. . .

I’m currently burning cds onto my computer for Randy’s mothers ipod, editing photos to flickr, re-writing physics and trying to hurry my ass up so I can take a nap. Why take a nap in the evening? Well Randy and I, possibly even my brother, are going to wait in line for the opening release for Call of Duty, World At War. yay! Though I have two exams tomorrow and such. I have not told my mother this, I feel bad if I make Randy go by himself.

So for whatever reason I am blogging instead of doing any of these things. I really shouldn’t, but blogging is just one of those itches I must scratch.

So i’m attempting to edit photos with photoshop. I normally don’t have to do much with my photos, but i’m at the point that I must learn how in order to produce more interesting pieces. If there are any tutorials that can help me i’d love to see them. Check out my flickr to the side if you wish to comment on my work!
