Quattro brevi notizie.

La prima riguarda l’avvistamento di Prince al party di Halloween organizzato lo scorso 31 ottobre presso il locale The Church di Los Angeles. La festa aveva come ospiti principali Jody Watley, Vikter Duplaix e Rashida. La notizia della presenza di Prince arriva dal Twitter di Jody Watley … “The show was HOT last night but the highlight ended up being when I got a hug and lengthy convo with PRINCE”

La seconda invece è per informarvi che è appena uscito un cofanetto di 9 dvd chiamato “Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame LIVE ” che celebra il 25° anno di vita del più prestigioso riconoscimento musicale. I filmati e i contenuti extra ripropongono tutte le esibizioni live avvenute durante le serate di introduzione alla Hall Of Fame. Da Mick Jagger a Bruce Springsteen, da Little Richard a Santana, un lungo elenco di cantanti e musicisti che hanno fatto la storia della musica. Tra questi nomi anche quello di Prince. Sul primo dvd troviamo “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” eseguita in compagnia di Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison nel 2004, anno in cui Prince entrò a far parte della Hall Of Fame.

La terza notizia, che in realtà circola ormai da mesi, riguarda la probabile apparizione di Prince ai prossimi World Music Awards (15 Novembre 2009). Sembra che sia stata programmata una su esibizione live per rendere omaggio a Michael Jackson durante la cerimonia di premiazione.

La quarta news è anche la più curiosa ed interessante. Secondo fonti vicine a Paisley Park pare che Prince abbia già pronto un nuovo album, registrato a giugno e mixato a fine ottobre. Sarà vero o sono solo chiacchiere?

Morgan Freeman to received First Annual Noble Awards Lifetime Achievement award

Beverly Hills, CA – Academy Award-winning Actor Morgan Freeman can now boast about another award to add to his hall of fame in Hollywood. Morgan has been selected to received the First LifeTime Achievement Award at the 1st Annual Noble Awards, Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills, CA

TV Anchor Janeen Mansour and Executive Producer Ziad Batal are the founders of this Sunday’s event, which will honor humanitarian celebs in a the two hour event produced on behalf of the Celebrity Charity Awards Corporation (CCAC); The CCAC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.

Other confirmed celebs attending include: Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Norman Lear, Lionel Richie, Laila Ali, Nancy O’Dell, Joel Madden, Brett Ratner, Kenny Babyface Edmonds, Billy Bush and Annalynne McCord

The star-studded awards event will also feature live entertainment with Brian McKnight, Julio Iglesias Jr.,  Emily  Bear and Timmy Mitchum.

Brian McKnight has earned himself a spot in contemporary music history. He has released a dozen albums, more than half of them have gone platinum, with several going 2 and 3x platinum, and has sold more than 20 Million albums worldwide. Brian has received numerous awards including Soul Train Awards and Image Awards, and numerous nominations including Grammy’s, MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards and American Music Awards.

Currently in Spain but Julio Iglesias Jr. will perform at Sunday’s event and he willsoon be in Hollywood recording a new album and watch for his work in film. Although Julio has spent his whole life surrounded by music (, Julio Iglesias and Isabel Preysler, parents), his own personal journey into the music industry didn’t start until the late 90’s when he released his first album in English titled “Under My Eyes” with Epic Records. Igelsias chose to sing in Spanish and the result is the mind-blowing Tercera Dimension.

The Celebrity Charity Awards Corporation will launch a year-round campaign to better unify the efforts of charities with celebrities, influencers, media and everyday citizens in order to create an powerful forum for change and service with this first annual awards program on October 18th. The awards, which are more like sculptures were designed by Actor Antonio Banderas, who mustered the help of handicapped and child burn victims. The charity honorees for the first annual Noble Awards include:

• The Art of Elysium encourages actors, artists and musicians to volunteer their time and talent to children battling serious medical conditions.
• Best Buddies, founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, creates opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which treats the most seriously ill and injured children in LA is one of the nation’s best pediatric facilities
• DoSomething.org seeks to help young people to take action around any cause, aiming to activate two million people per year by 2011.
• The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation offers ground-breaking research programs, prevention and treatment programs that bring dramatic changes to the lives of children worldwide
• Keep a Child Alive offers life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care and support services to children and families whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India
• Stand Up To Cancer is Entertainment Industry Foundation program that unites major TV networks, Hollywood and prominent leaders in cancer research
• Women’s Sports Foundation, opens the doors for girls and women in sports and fitness through education, advocacy, recognition and grants

Michael Joseph Jackson est mort. Paix à ses cendres et mes sympathies à ses proches. Il avait vendu 750 millions de disques en cours de carrière dont 100 millions de Thriller, le bestseller de tous les temps et il avait été nommé Artiste du Millénaire aux World Music Awards en 2000. Qu’on aime ou non sa musique est sans importance et qu’on aime ou non le personage n’en a pas davantage. C’est la place qu’il a occupée qui importe.

La place que des gens lui ont accordée dans leurs vies et celle que le système lui a faite. On parle beaucoup de nos politiciens. Assez pour en faire, parfois, les cibles de débats intellectuels sans commune mesure avec leur impact RÉEL sur nos vies. Alors qu’on prend nos artistes pour acquis…

Ceux qui pensent ”politique” – ceux bien rares qui y interviennent et ceux bien plus nombreux qui en discutent plutot que de parler foot, mais avec une pudibonde réticence à en analyser les vrais fonctionnements – ont parfois l’arrogance de penser qu’ils s’occupent, eux, de choses “sérieuses” lors que chanteurs, poetes, romanciers ne sont que des amuseurs… Mais qui sait s’ils n’ont pas tort et si le bon bout de la lorgnette n’est pas celui qui montre l’homme à sa vraie dimension ? Si petit dans une monde si grand qu’il vaut mieux penser d’abord à ses amusements ?

Le politicien, même le plus influent, n’est bien souvent que la résultante des circonstances, une image holographique qui nait à l’intersection des forces qui s’exercent sur lui. Il incarne une idée qui essentiellement est la vôtre et que vous lui prêtez. S’il changeait d’avis en changeriez vous aussi, ou le remplaceriez vous par une autre icône à image de ce que vous aimez ? Le politicien vous écoute, c’est l’amuseur qui vous parle…

Bien sérieux, la politique. On ne s’amuse pas… Mais toute cette politique et le discours politique qui s’y colle a-t-elle un autre but que d’encadrer les plaisirs simples qui vous font la vie à laquelle vous tenez vraiment ? Ce qui est encadré, c’est une vie de moments dont chacun vaudra l’amour ou l’amitié qu’on y aura trouvé, le petit blanc qu’on aura bu, la chanson qu’on aura fredonnée… Dans cette sequence de non sequitur qu’est une vie, les “amuseurs’ n’occupent-ils pas une place bien plus importante que celle qu’on leur concède ?

Que j’écoute Bach ou Michael Jackson, ce que l’un ou l’autre m’apporte n’est pas un aspect négligeable, mais essentiel de ma vie. Bien sûr, il y a ceux qui laissent la France “veuve”. Ceux qu’ont dit ‘”les grands hommes” et qui fixent le cap, à la barre du navire. On les dit irremplacables, mais ils seront remplacés et le navire voguera sans eux..

Quand l’artiste meurt, quelque chose s’arrête. Ce que l’artiste apportait n’était pas que de lui, mais était lui. Unique. Et quand l’artiste a fini son tour de piste, il ne reviendra pas. La mort d’un artiste qu’on a aimé marque une fin et donc une étape. On retournera a ses chansons comme à des souvenirs de soi-meme. On dira “avant’”, jadis ou, avec le temps qui passera, “quand j’étais jeune”…

Pour des millions de gens qui l’ont aimé, Michael Jackson aura eu cette importance. À ceux qui ne l’ont pas aimé et à tous les gens sérieux qui regardent de haut les amuseurs, cette importance devrait suggérer un grand acte d’humilité.

Check out Beyonce and her twin, Sasha Fierce, perform at the World Music Awards last night. I’m not sure about the outfit – but of course she worked it out.

So the American Music Awards took place the other night and it seemed it was all about the ladies, with stonking performances from a slightly off key Christina Aguilera, a draw dropping Rihanna, Beyonce and Brit Leona Lewis.

Performances where great, everyone looked good so can’t really complain… BUT.  Since B has been back in our faces after her marriage to Jay Z she has been wearing this weird metal robot hand on her left hand.  Can somebody please tell me what it’s about???  At the World Music Awards B had a weird lollipop style ring on her wedding finger…  Is she hiding the fact that Jay Z didn’t buy her a wedding ring????

Prince - World Music Awards 1994

Nel 1994 fu il turno di Prince o The Simbol o “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince”. Periodo confuso quello degli anni ‘90. Comunque al Salle des Etoiles du Sporting d’Eté Club (Monte-Carlo Sporting Club) durante il 6th World Music Awards ricevette il premio “Gold Key Award”.
Durante lo spettacolo eseguì in compagnia di Mayte “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World“.
Nelle due serate che precedettero l’evento, Prince suonò al Stars’N'Bars davanti al principe ereditario Alberto di Monaco.
Negli stessi giorni Prince rilasciò la sua prima intervista per la rivista “Vibe”.
Sembra che l’incontro fu richiesto dallo stesso Prince che non parlava con un magazine dal lontano 1990.
Gli argomenti trattai riguardavano gli avvenimenti successi negli ultimi 12 mesi: il cambio di nome, la lotta contro le grandi major discografiche, la chiusura della Paisley Park Records, la sua musica e l’avventura interattiva iniziata con il CD-ROM Extravaganza.

It's not easy being pretty

Donald Trump: Who knew the billionaire had a heart?  He’s been housing Jennifer Hudson and her relatives in his super-elite building in Chicago.

Brad Pitt: Even grown men want to cop a feel off Bradley!  Pitt was “manhandled” by his own security guard at his own movie screening.  Can’t say we blame the guy.

Jennifer Aniston: And how’s this for understatement of the year: Jen says Angelina’s homewrecking ways were “uncool.”  We were expecting something a little more colorful.

Blake Lively: Has landed on the cover of yet another magazine.  Among the so-called revelations in the interview: she has 60 handbags (in two closets), actually gets along with Leighton Meester and can memorize a 4-page scene instantly.  Sadly, no dish on her and Penn.  Now that would be revelatory!

Forbes: They have a new top-10 list: most influential stars.  No one on it is really surprising: Clooney, Jolie, Hanks, blah, blah, blah.

Jesse Metcalfe: After disappearing from the public eye, this is surely an attention-grabbing way to make your comeback.  The former Desperate Housewives star fell 40 feet off a balcony at a party for the World Music Awards.  Thankfully, he wasn’t too injured but is still under a hospital’s care.

Jaden Smith: No longer content appearing alongside dad Will in bit parts, the 10-year-old will take a starring turn in a remake of The Karate Kid.  Good thing he already knows karate!

SoapNet: If the channel is planning 3 new scripted series, what will happen to the daily repeats of our are favorite shows?!  On the brightside, we would have about 6 extra hours in our day…

Beyonce: Also know now, apparently, as Sasha Fierce,  has her whole album up on MySpace, a week before you can get it in stores.

Kanye: His elite coolness factor just went down a few notches.  He’s debuting his new single on tonight’s 90210.  Barf.

Obama: If you’re offering to organize a special event for the president’s kids, you should probably tell him.  Disney says Malia and Sasha have a standing invitation to appear on every tween’s favorite show, Hannah Montana, but the soon-to-be first family say they have no knowledge of this.  Someone’s getting fired!

Gerard Butler is in the Friend Zone with a hottie in Santa Monica. 

Jesse Metcalfe got knocked the F%*K OUT after falling down two flights of stairs at the afterparty for the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo. 

I’ve never understood how momentum builds causing a person to roll across the transitional part of a flight of stairs and then propels them further down…  Either way, I presume both guys will be tested for something this week, and I’d like to wish them the best!
