What’s going to happen to my valor points?

All valor points will be converted into justice points. The justice point cap, however, remains at 4,000 points. So you’ll be give justice points up to the cap. If you have any valor points left over, they will be converted into currency at a rate of 47 silver per point.

Let’s say you have 3,000 justice points and 1,100 valor points. Since you cannot get over 4,000 justice points, 1,000 of your valor points will be turned into justice points, and 100 will be turned into 47 silver per point.

Do I need to be attuned to the new raid instance?

No. The Firelands is immediately accessible by heading to the Sulfuron Spire in Hyjal. Grab nine or 24 of your bestest friends and head in to punch new bosses in their loot bags.

Where do I go to start the new daily quests?

The new daily quests that open up the Regrowth and the Molten Front are available at the Shrine of Malorne in the southwest portion of Hyjal.

You start at the Sanctuary of Malorne and have a few quests a day until you get 20 Marks of the World Tree, the new personal currency you accumulate by completing these new dailies. After 20 of them, which is a few days of dailies, you head into the Firelands and the Molten Front proper. Keep doing dailies for more Marks of the World Tree.

How do I get started on the legendary quest chain?

Players must first kill a Molten Lord inside of the Firelands or have completed any one of the achievements for the previous raid tier (clear Bastion of Twilight, Throne of the Four Winds, or Blackwing Descent) to open up the beginning quest for Dragonwrath, which sends you back to your capital city and onward to the Bronze Dragonflight.

Are there any new factions to gain rep with?

Raiders will be able to gain reputation with the Avengers of Hyjal. Reputation will be capped out early with trash kills in the instance, so many boss kills will likely be needed to reach exalted with the faction.

What are crystallized firestones, and why are people so excited about them?

Crystallized firestones are items that drop from heroic mode bosses in the Firelands and allow you to create heroic versions of items that never had heroic equivalents. For instance, items you purchase from the valor points vendors now have a heroic version that you can purchase with the regular item plus a firestone. This is great for relics, tanking guns, and other slot items that have trouble being put on loot lists because of their relatively class-specific nature.

Has the amount of hit rating gone up for bosses?

No. Blizzard originally was tossing around the idea to increase the hit rating needed to hit cap on the new bosses, but this is not the tier that that is happening. Perhaps next tier. Right now, hit ratings are staying the same.

What’s the deal with all the hunter “taming challenges”?

Patch 4.2 is introducing 10 new pets for hunters to tame, including lava spiders, an obsidian cat, a metallic crab, a ghost owl, and more. Each potential tame has a gimmick or vulnerability that must be exploited before the hunter can tame the beast. These new unique taming challenges are scattered around the Regrowth and the Molten Front daily questing hubs.

Any 5-man content?

There are no new 5-man dungeons coming with patch 4.2. You can still get valor points from doing your seven weekly random Zandalari and heroic dungeons.

Does the new arena season start tomorrow?

No. The new arena and PVP season begins usually one week after the current season ends. After Season 9 ends, the numbers will be crunched and rewards will be given out, including titles and drakes, to the winners of the PVP season. This usually takes about a week. Once that is all done, PVP Season 10 will start up.

The second content update for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2), is erupting across Azeroth. With a new raid, a legendary DPS staff quest line, the most diverse daily questing experience to date, PvP Season 10, user-interface enhancements such as the Dungeon Journal, and much more, Rage of the Firelands brings a little something for everyone.

Also the World of Warcraft trial has undergone a few big changes with the launch of today’s content update. Starting today, blizzard removed the previous 10- and 14-day trial time restrictions, and players who are interested in trying out World of Warcraft can now play the base game for free up to a maximum character level of 20, including draenei and blood elf characters – all they need is a Battle.net account and an Internet connection. To mark the occasion, blizzard also has given the trial a new name: World of Warcraft Starter Edition. Players who had previously signed up for 10- or 14-day trials will be able to hop back into the Starter Edition right where they left off.

In addition, for anyone who hasn’t yet ventured beyond the Dark Portal, beginning today, players will be able to get both the original World of Warcraft and the game’s first expansion set, The Burning Crusade, for only $19.99 as part of the new digital Battle Chest now available in the online Blizzard Store. In addition, anyone who owns the original World of Warcraft, regardless of when they purchased the game, will automatically be able to access all of the content and features from The Burning Crusade expansion at no additional cost.

Video game launches have become like premieres of Hollywood blockbusters, both in the dollars consumer spend and the time they devote to the product. Cataclysm sold well when it first launched, even though Activision-Blizzard’s first person shooter blockbuster hit Call of Duty Black Ops came out at around the same time and brought in $1 billion in a month. World of Warcraft’s third expansion generated an estimated $188 million in retail sales in its first month.

That means Activision-Blizzard might be due for another huge payday when it releases World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in China. That country accounts for a large chunk of Activision-Blizzard’s 11.4 million subscribers to World of Warcraft. In 2009, the country accounted for around 4 million monthly subscribers to World of Warcraft.

Activision-Blizzard sold more than 4.7 million units of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm in the first month after it was released. On the first day, Cataclysm’s sales topped 3.3 million sold. By comparison,World of Warcraft’s previous expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King sold 2.8 million units on its first day in 2008 and The Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million units on its first day in 2007.

Activision-Blizzard waits to release its expansion packs for World of Warcraft in China because they have to meet strict standards set by China’s General Administration of Press and Publication and China’s Ministry of Culture. Activision-Blizzard, for example, had to alter the models of the Forsaken — a skeletal-like race in World of Warcraft — and turn players’ corpses into gravestones instead of dead bodies.

When the game didn’t meet the standards set by China’s governmental agencies, the game was taken offline. That happened in 2009 before Activision-Blizzard was able to release its first expansion pack of the game, The Burning Crusade, in China. The regulators said that NetEase, which operates the game in China, must stop charging players and cease accepting any new registrations for “gross violations” of Chinese law.

• The new raiding content will obviously include the new raiding gear, specifically Tier 12.
• In order to access the Mount Hyjal daily quest hub, you might just have to complete the original Mount Hyjal quest lines.  Might wanna get those out of the way now during the wait ^_^
• And the balloons are just awesome.

These two tweaks specifically bother me, as they are very similar, but two completely different play styles:

 Mage – Frost

• Ring of Frost is now instant, down from 1.5 sec cast time.

Death Knight – Frost

• Hungering Cold now has 1.5 sec cast time, up from instant

Just… what?!

Frost mages *really* needed a buff to that ability, well… any of their abilities?  But the one that prevents people from getting to the flag in the far-too-popular Node capturing BGs?  The by-far most annoying fight for a melee class gets another buff.  Amazing.

I’ll be honest, DKs are a lot easier to play than my ol’ faithful class: Warrior.  You got death grip, bunch of slows and just plain cool abilities.  I am aware a DK crying foul doesn’t hold much water… but this is about Frost mages here.  That supersedes all complaining about a mere DK in comparison.  Let’s see the pros and cons of this terrible idea.

Mages get an instant-cast, persistent, ranged, aoe-lockdown.  DKs have a one time use melee-based lockdown with a 1.5 second cast.  Both can be trinketed out of, only the Mage one will be instantly re-applied.  The mage one also remains intact while the person takes damage, while the DK ability breaks to any additional damage instantly (barring existing diseases) and cannot be re-applied.

If the Mage version is Mass Dispelled, the Mage can pop Cold Snap and place another down, instantly.

Not including Frost Nova, the ever-present and constant lock-down procs from their numerous instant-cast abilities, that they crit insanely high when you *are* locked down, or that they can also cast a one-shot version of this abilty via their pet.

Death Knights have one Death Grip.  That can resist or be immune.  They can slow with Icy Chains, or if they glyph for it, apply a short immobilize with IC and a slow with Howling Blast (if frost spec’d). Other than that, all they have are slows.  If you fire off the DG too early, or slip and use it right after your glyphed immobilize, it’s spent and you do not have a chance at all against the mage, while that mage has gobs of backup abilities to keep you right where you are and a shield that not only absorbs a great deal, but can be reapplied far more often than the DK counterpart, AND it generally locks down any melee that got ‘lucky’ enough to break it.

Oh, the agony of playing a ranged class…

Zee’ Summary

Aye, this could very well be voided tomorrow, but I still call ”Shenanigans!”
 on it.  The abilities are quite similar, yet the ranged class that can choose precisely where they want it, gets to use it in an instant.  But the melee class that has to constantly run around to hit they very ranged class, has to stand still for awhile to cast very similar ability?  (Thus negating the ability entirely when attempting to catch up with a runner.) If I find it annoying on my pvp geared out DK, I can only imagine the amount of frustration and rage (lawl class in-joke) I will have when my Warrior gets up to level cap >.>

Chrono Cross – Scars of Time

This is the song that made me want to write this. This is, without a doubt, my favorite intro theme. Hell, this is probably the best song on the entire Chrono series soundtrack. Just… wow. As much as I have against Chrono Cross, I can’t fault it’s art or music. I would, in all honesty, prefer to listen to this soundtrack over Trigger’s any day. Not enough people know about this song. Just… Just suffer through the game for its music or find the soundtrack somewhere. Seriously, it’s all this level of quality. Speaking of things not enough people know about…

Wild ARMs – Into the Wilderness

My second favorite theme on this list. It captures the spirit of the fantasy Wild Western setting perfectly. The whistling, or what sounds like whistling, also helps give it a bit of a … Let’s say a rural folk song feel. It sounds like something passed down in a family or community, something you’d end up whistling by reflex. The music has a bit of a Spanish or at least ‘Southern’ flair to it, which is also nice.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm – The Shattering

I’m not sure if you could call this an opening theme but I do not care. It’s played before or during the title screen, so it counts. This is, without a doubt, the best song in the entire history of WoW (tied for first place with Assault on New Avalon). Speaking as a huge, massive Disney fan here, but… The minute or so has a very Disney-esque quality. It honestly wouldn’t sound out of place in the infamous Night on Bald Mountain segment in Fantasia. After that, you’ve got Latin-esque chanting backed by an orchestra. I know I quit WoW a long while ago, but I will never stop loving Blizzard’s music. They know what they’re doing, big time. Also, I’m dropping a lot of RPGs in here, so let’s switch it up a bit…

Shoot the Bullet – Tengu’s Notebook ~ Mysterious Note

I absolutely love rain. Sitting inside and listening to the rain is the most zen-like experience ever. Now, imagine my reaction when I booted up StB and heard this. Dear god, ZUN, you amazing man. One of the most peaceful songs I’ve ever heard. It’s just so calming and beautiful that I’m listening to it right now, and it’s nearly put me to sleep a few times.

Gran Turismo – Moon Over the Castle

I’m not exactly a big fan of ‘real’ racing games. Give me fantasy racing anytime, though. This was suggested by a buddy of mine, so I can only ramble on about the musical qualities of it. First,let me say that I’ve heard a few versions, but decided to go with the original. According to what little research I’ve done, it’s been in all of the GT games. Anyway, on with the rambling. I never expected the opening for a fast-paced racing game to be so mellow, and then smoothly transition into a more typical song. It’s got a nice, Sega-y arcade feel to it. Yep. Nice and arcade-y.

Digital Devil Saga – Danger

Who would’ve guessed I’d finish this list up with an RPG? Aside from myself, of course. Anyway, considering the subject matter and all that in this game… I was completely flat-out shocked when I walked away to do something and this started playing. I hate the fact that I don’t have a lot to say about it, but… Wow. It’s jazzy, it’s got good vocals, it’s soothing. A soothing, happy opening in a game where you become a demon and consume the hell out of your enemies. Seriously, Meguro, this is some crazy mood whiplash.

Anybody still playing this game? yea I’m sure there’s still millions, well a new patch is up if anybody wants to jump back in and a new trailer shows what 4.1 has in store for the people of Azeroth.

The 4.1 patch will include 2 old dungeons, Zul’aman and Zul’gurb which has been recycled into a level 85 5-man instance. MMO-Champion says this patch will be live this week so if anybody is interested go check the patch notes and load your wow accounts up again.

I went back to Cataclysm because of my friend’s influence and enjoyed it for a good 2 months then stopped again. All geared up and set for 10-man and 25-man as an Enhance Shaman but i didn’t have the time to find a guild and do those lengthy raids again. I got the best from WoW’s raiding in Burning Crusade and killing Ilidan for the first time with my guild was epic. WoW is behind me and the next mmo i’d like to get is probably Guild Wars 2.

im first on to start why should you go disc: amazing bubbles, the best signal healing in wow, disc is just op right now. if you raid a lot like I do you should be aware disc is not that good in doing 10man raids because its all about aoe healing but in 25man when you do require healers on tanks disc is your man, with low cost mana on prayer of mending, penance and some 35kbubles here and there makes really good for healing a tank, and if your a attoment spec makes it even much more better becuse not only are you getting some of your mana back it makes disc just supper sweet.

if you are going to heal as disc in 10man raid you better be sure who to put your bubbles on not to go oom and to just spam your heal, but be sure to be really geared for raiding or else wipe. but what can i say im just only 1 priest every one got there game play good luck

if you have a nice spec share and compare

I decided to go with a Paladin for a few reasons.  First is the ability to be a healer.  Healing instances will probably be the best way to cruise through most levels.  Secondly is because of the survivability.  Being a plate wearer and being able to bubble and run will help when I aggro a few mobs.

At the beginning, I’ll have to sell my herbs and minerals to be able to buy gear, since I won’t be getting any from the introduction quests.

I was trying to figure out a way I can make sure I don’t kill anything, and I’m still lost on how I’m going to do this.  I know there is a spot on the statistics page of the achievement pane that shows how many creatures you’ve killed, but I’m pretty sure that will count things that party members kill in dungeons.  I looked through there, searching for a “killing blow” stat and didn’t see one.  Maybe I was just overlooking it, but if that were there, it would be the way to tell for sure.

I fully expect to get around level 8 or so and be so sick of trying this and just give up.  If not, I plan on updating my progress at important points along the way, every 10 levels or so.

The Warlock class is quite easy to level. With an arsenal of different pets that can tank, increase health, silence targets and stun people, leveling in cataclysm is easy. The warlock’s main damage come from the socalled DoTs (Damage over Time) as well as their pet. They also have an ability named Life tap, which converts some of your Hit Points into mana which is great for when you’re at 100% Hit points and under 100% mana. There are some AoE (Area of Effects) that the Warlock have, not as many as a mage but still useful…

Remember to always use the Create Healthstone and Create Soulstone abilities, The healthstone works just like a health potion, it will restore your health. The Soulstone will make you able to ress at the place where you died, in other words you won’t have to corpse run, this is a real timesaver and you should have this on you at any time possible.

I recommend that you stay with the Affliction tree until you hit level 70.
The Affliction tree is focused on increasing your DoT damage, as well as giving you some nice extra spells and improved versions of your other DoT spells. You should get the Improved Life Tap, Improved Corruption, Soul Siphon/Siphon Life for starters, max out the amount of talents in these (3/3, 2/2, 5/5 etc).

Now put 2/2 in Doom and Gloom, get the Curse of Exhaustion and then put 3/3 in Eradication. Go ahead and get Soul Swap after this, and 3/3 Shadow Embrace and the 2/2 Improved Howl of Terror. Put 2 Talent points in Nightfall and get Soulburn: Seed of Corruption (SoC) Then put 3/3 in Death’s Embrace, 3/3 in Everlasting Affliction, 2/2 Pandemic and then the last thing in the Affliction tree, Haunt. Now you should either start putting talent points in Demonology or switch spec completely because of the Metamorphosis talent in the Warlocks Demo tree.

If you decide to change your spec (talents) from Affliction to Demonology, then use these talents:
3/3 Demonic Embrace, 2/2 Spell Synergy, Then go ahead and put 2/2 in Mana Feed and 2/2 Demonic Aegis and 2/2 Demonic Rebirth. Then go ahead and get Demonic Empowerment, 3/3 Impending Doom, 3/3 Molten Core, Hand of Gul’dan and 2/2 Aura of Foreboding.

Then choose Inferno, 2/2 Decimation, 2/2 Ancient Grimoire, 2/2 Cremation and Demonic Pact. Now you’ll have 1 point left for the Metamorphosis, put the last point in Master Summoner, then get Metamorphosis and put the other point in Master Summoner, after this you should just spend the remaining points in the Affliction tree in the same order as I showed you a few lines above this.

The Rogue is a pure Damage Dealing class which uses Leather and its main stat to boost is Agility which gives loads of great things, such as higher dodge chance, higher Critical strike chance, more attack power, higher armor etc. The Rogue’s ´patented´ move is all the stuns they got, this is what most people associate with rogues, these should always be used in both PvE (Player vs Environment and PvP (Player vs Player) to lower the damage dealt to you, which means that you won’t have to eat that often and therefore level up faster. You should also level up First Aid because this can be used while an enemy is blinded, gouged, sapped, or stunned…

The Rogue class has 3 talent trees, Assassination, Combat, and Subtlety and they are all good for different things. If you’re interested in leveling (and because you’re reading this, I suppose you must be) then you should choose the Combat tree as this is purely made for leveling and PvE. The abilities in there are just unimaginable awesome the first time you use them.

Start with putting your Talent pints In Combat, Get 3/3 Improved Sinister Strike, After that 3/3 Precision. Then go ahead and get 2/2 Improved Slice and Dice, most people think this talent is useless but it’s really one of your best leveling abilities through the game. Then get 3/3 Aggression because this will boost your damage once you get all three talent points in there. Then go ahead and take 3/3 Lightning Reflexes and Revealing Strike. Then put 3/3 in Combat Potency and 2/2 in reinforced Leather. After that you should get the Adrenaline Rush, this one should only be used when you’re fighting mobs with high health or multiple mobs at the same time. Then get 2/2 Savage Combat. 2/2 Throwing Specialization. Then just take the one’s left below these, 2/2 Restless Blades, 3/3 Bandit’s Guile and of course, the last thing which is one of the best attacks in the game, Killing Spree. Now open the Assassination tree tab and put three talents in Lethality, making it 3/3. Then put another 3/3 in Coup de Grace and 1/3 in Ruthlessness. Then open the Subtlety Tree and put your last talents in Relentless Strikes, 3/3.

This is the best Rogue build for leveling and it’s all updated for Cataclysm, If you however feel like using the Assassination tree or the Sub one then first try Combat because I’m certain that you will enjoy it. If you tried it and want to try some others then I recommend Assassination.
