Sydney is the largest city in Australia, and the state capital of New South Wales. Sydney has a metropolitan area population of approximately 4.34 million and an area of approximately 12,000 square kilometres. Its inhabitants are called Sydney siders, and Sydney is often called “the Harbour City”. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, reflecting its role as a major destination for immigrants to Australia.

The city is home to many prominent parks, such as Hyde Park, Royal Botanical Gardens and national parks. This is a major factor, along with Sydney Harbour that has led to the city’s reputation as one of the most beautiful in the world

Bronte beach

Bronte is a beach side suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Bronte is located 8 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the Waverley Council local government area of the Eastern Suburbs.

Bronte Beach is a small but popular recreational beach on Nelson Bay in Bronte in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia. Bronte beach is 2 KM  south of Bondi Beach and north of the much larger Coogee Beach. A long distance ocean swimming event is held every December between Bondi Beach and Bronte. The three beaches are linked by a paved coastal footpath along the rocky clifftops, much frequented by tourists and local runners and walkers. The beach is popular with surfers and despite the often rough surf, less abled swimmers can avail themselves of the bogey hole or rock pool towards the southern end of the beach. At the south end of the beach is a 30 metre ocean pool. Directly opposite the beach are popular cafes.

Manly Beach is probably the most famous and popular north Sydney urban beach, on the same level as Copacabana Beach in south Rio de Janeiro. A Manly Beach vacation is enjoyed by more tourists than any other beach in the country, except perhaps Bondi Beach, which is just across Watsons Bay and located right in the city. Because of its proximity to the city, things to do at Manly Beach include kayaking and sailing excursions that begin or end under the graceful Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you are not up for this kind of exertion, it’s possible to simply lie on the long stretch of sand and view these iconic landmarks without lifting a finger.

Manly Beach is one of the finest beaches in the Sydney area. It’s considered to be the jewel of the north shore beaches by many people, locals as well as tourists. Manly is located on a narrow peninsula, surrounded on three sides by water, it offers both harbour and ocean beaches. Few cities in the world can boast the pristine waterfronts and paradisiacal climate that Sydney offers.

Coogee Beach

Coogee is a beachside suburb in south-eastern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Coogee is located 8 kilometres south-east of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the City of Randwick. It is also a part of the Eastern Suburbs region.

The Tasman Sea and Coogee Bay along with Coogee Beach lie towards the eastern side of the suburb. The beach is popular for swimming. The boundaries of Coogee are formed mainly by Clovelly Road, Carrington Road and Rainbow Street, with arbitrary lines drawn to join these thoroughfares to the coast in the north-east and south-east corners.

Cable Beach

Cable Beach Australia is one of the most popular beaches in Western Australia. Nonetheless, at almost fourteen miles long, it is rarely crowded like the urban beaches in Sydney.

This is an extraordinary unspoiled stretch of sand that benefits from is remote location. But it can be quite crowded at certain times, especially in the southern hemisphere’s winter, mid-June to mid-August. If you want to come at this time, you should make your arrangements in advance.

Additionally, when to go if you want to spend a lot of time in the water is not during the wet season of November to March when your Cable Beach vacation can be marred by the stinging box jellyfish that are present in the coastal waters during this period.

Hyams Beach is part of what may be the top attraction on the coast between Sydney and Canberra—beautiful Jervis Bay. The tiny village, with a population hovering around 100 people, is on the coast about 70 miles south of Sydney. The beaches in Hyams Beach include Chinaman’s Beach to the north and Seaman’s Beach to the south, as well as the eponymous Hyams Beach.

Trying to decide which is the best New South Wales beach is a bit difficult, as there are several other beaches lining Jervis Bay. These include Nelsons Beach, Murrays Beach, Collingwood Beach, Honeymoon Bay, and Green Patch Beach. All are known for small crowds, pure white sands, and wildlife (both marine and terrestrial).

Palm Beach Australia is known as the jewel of the beaches north of Sydney. For a city almost as well known for its urban beaches as Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, that’s saying something.

It is set at the tip of a dual peninsula in the northernmost suburb of the city, across Pittwater from Currawong Beach and the vast Kurungai Chase bush, one of the country’s many national parks. It’s about twenty miles north of Manly Beach, another of the city’s best northern beaches.

Palm Beach Australia is a very trendy suburb, with many spectacular multimillion dollar homes. Its beautiful beach is surrounded by public gardens and parks and two golf courses. This popular beach can be crowded on holidays and weekends, and parking can be problematic. But it is well worth a visit.

Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is a small but cosmopolitan resort town located in the northern state of Queensland. Set in Pioneer Bay on lovely palm fringed beaches, it is one of the main gateways to the beautiful Whitsunday Islands and to the Great Barrier Reef. It is on the mainland coast, nestled between Dryander and Conway National Parks and only a few sailing miles from Whitsunday Islands National Park. Airlie Beach holidays provide a great many things to do and attractions that most people think of as synonymous with this island nation.

The E.N.D. is far from over for the Black Eyed Peas. The group will take their latest album on the road when they embark on a 100-city world tour next year.

The E.N.D. World Tour 2010 will kick off February 4 at Philips Arena in Atlanta and travel around the globe.

The Peas’ outing was partly inspired by U2, who they opened for this year. “How do you get to the U2 level? Right now that’s what we’re looking at,” will.i.am told the Los Angeles Times. “We’ve gotten this far—we survived. Most of the people that were our peers, they’re gone or way back there now. We lapped them. In the music industry there’s a depression, there’s a drought. And we have proved that we can survive and lead the way, even in this climate. And the only way to go now is up, to U2.”

The splashy show will feature elaborate lighting, stage effects, and numerous wardrobe changes. “When people see this show, they will see us going for spectacle and showing what we can do,” said Fergie. “This is where we’re going as a group.”

in Japan, but the local hot springs are one of the nicest features of any stop so far on this tour. Also the people here have been so friendly and helpful. I had a broken latch on my accordion case that the hotel recommended a local man to repair and he did a wonderful job for a minimal fee with no waiting. The shows have been going well, Eddie even seems happy although he’s a bit under the weather (spelled Saki) today. But that’s okay cause we don’t ship out till Friday (for S. America) , and I have an alternate media choice for this weeks music pick. My oldest son Ian has just made available on-line to view, a copy of his student film “Collywobbles” from 2006. I contribute the musical selections for this film which I think you’ll find amusing. Be forewarned this short film features puppet on puppet violence. You can view it at the link listed below. Today marked the end of the Jonas Brothers’ 2009 world tour, in Paris, France. Here’s some footage of their last show, taken earlier today:

It was a long journey but the Jonas managed the pull through, here are some of the craziest and funniest moments of the 2009 tour.

Congratulations Nick, Joe, and Kevin! We can’t wait to have you back in the US.

Although the Jonas Brothers are miles away from America, they did not forget to thank their fans and wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. Earlier today the Jonas posted a new blog on their myspace page with the following message:

Abbiamo ormai capito che non esiste una diretta relazione tra i km di costa o di spiaggia disponibile in un paese e i risultati ottenuti dagli atleti di quella nazione nello sport più bello del mondo. Questa costatazione però lascia aperte tutta una serie di ipotesi che meriterebbero di essere approfondite.

Partiamo dai fatti e prendiamo in esame i maschietti. Fra i primi 100 posti del ranking mondiale sono presenti 4 coppie italiane.

Varnier-Nicolai festeggiano

La miglior coppia maschile nostrana si è classificata al 41° posto del ranking del world tour. Prima di Varnier-Nicolai ci sono 2 coppie tedesche (una campione del mondo), 6 coppie brasiliane, 3 coppie provenienti dagli States (ma quante potrebbero essere se non avessere un tour nazionale importantissimo e molto remunerativo), 3 coppie svizzere, 2 coppie per ognuna delle seguenti nazioni: Repubblica Ceca, Norvegia, Austria, Russia, Spagna, Olanda e Francia. (ranking completo)

Vediamo le ragazze: 2 sole coppie italiche fra le prime 100 e il miglior piazzamento è di Gioria-Momoli al 20° posto.

Prima delle nostre ragazze troviamo 5 coppie brasiliane, 3 coppie statunitensi, 2 coppie tedesche, 2 coppie austriache, oltre che coppie ceche, greche, olandesi, svizzere e belghe (ranking completo).

Sul fatto che si possa fare meglio non credo ci sia discussione. Da quest’analisi però emerge una situazione non completamente  sovrapponibile. Il movimento maschile mi sembra almeno ad alto livello più vivo. Analizzando anche la quantità dei nostri rappresenati, oltre le prime 100 posizioni, si nota una ricchezza che in campo femminile non sembra esserci. Al contrario, i risultati assoluti (e non solo quest’anno) sono a favore delle ragazze che sembrano rendere meglio nei momenti importanti, vedi mondiali e olimpiadi (dell’anno scorso) dove le coppie rosa sono andate anche oltre le aspettative della vigilia.

In più, oltre a queste differenze, dal mio punto di osservazione, certamente interessato ma comunque molto distante dalla federazione e dal movimento dei top players nazionali, vedo un approccio molto poco professionale (e di conseguenza professionistico) a questo sport. Manca un polo, un punto di riferimento nazionale a cui i migliori giocatori possono fare riferimento per allenamenti, strutture e pianificazione della stagione. Esite ancora molta sovrapposizione tra il beach e il mondo della pallavolo indoor (dove anche a medio livello girano più soldi) e in ultimo non vedo un pool di tecnici organizzati che sul territorio seguano e sostengano i talenti che (almeno per il calcolo delle probabilità) dovrebbero essere presenti in maggior quantità rispetto alla Svizzera o all’Olanda.

Servirebbe qualche investimento in più (ma neanche tanti) e un po’ di programmazione per trasformare un movimento, che anche nei migliori interpreti, nasce per sua natura, sciallone e improvvisato, in un gruppo d’elite che si diverte vicendo di più a livello internazionale. Insomma lasciate a noi le bibionate, gli spritz party e il look surfista. A voi le medaglie e (speriamo) i meritati guadagni.

La cartina tornasole dell’evoluzione del movimento è e sarà la qualità dell’organizzazione dei futuri campionati italiani anche quest’anno pesantemente  contestata in più di una tappa con argomenti che a torto o a ragione dovrebbero essere ampiamente consolidati in una manifestazione che è la massima espressione del beach nazionale:

this is about a week late, but better late than never. wale’s attention deficit is my favorite hip-hop release of the year thus far. i couldn’t be more content with this album’s release – exceeding my expectations for the record is no easy task.

it’s a shame that the record company undershipped the album, but i think more and more people will begin to catch on to his movement. anyway, it’s 3 in the fucking morning and i’m way too tired to write anymore on the info. pick up this album as soon as you see it in a store.

After 2008’s captivating The Mixtape about Nothing, Wale’s quick-witted wordplay, go-go leanings and verbal finesse made fans out of the most pompous of bloggers. With the budding hype building slowly around the release of his debut, Attention: Deficit, fans were discouraged at the album’s delays and setbacks. Considering Mr. Folarin’s arsenal of thought provoking and topical song content, Jimmy Iovine and the Interscope machine undoubtedly would have a hard time deciding what songs would be right for an album that was unlikely to achieve success in the mainstream.

The D.C. native has stated several times in the past that Black Thought is his personal favorite emcee. Aside from the name drop in “Prescription,” the influence is apparent on Wale’s often double-timed and fluid delivery. His apt and fine-tuned storytelling ability (“Diary,” “Contemplate”) is comparable and held up to a standard of a Nas or a Lupe Fiasco of the freshman generation. With these talents on deck, it’s also safe to assume that it was troubling for him to overcome the pressures of having major label debut, keeping in mind that there is a certain number of sales that would be expected of him.

Finding a comfortable resting place between and pleasing fans of the mainstream and underground, a normally daunting task, seems nearly effortless at the hands of Wale. From potential mainstream crossovers like the Gaga-assisted “Chillin” and the anthemic “World Tour” to the fanfare of “Triumph” or the astute “Mirrors,” Attention: Deficit does a notable job of living up to its name.

At first glance of the album’s liner notes, it’s hard not to notice the amount of features on the album. However, most of the album’s cameos come from the soulful vocal stylings of some of r&b’s finest songbirds. Melanie Fiona, Marsha Ambrosius (of Floetry fame), Jazmine Sullivan and Chrisette Michelle all bring a brooding and captivating aspect to the choruses that Wale would not be able to execute himself. On the flipside, guest verses from Bun B (“Mirrors”) and fellow Roc Nation signee J Cole (“Beautiful Bliss”) proved to be both a reckless and rewarding decision. Both emcees unquestionably lay down their verses with poise and arguably outshine Wale on their respective songs.

“Let it Loose,” featuring Pharrell Williams and the production of the Neptunes, isn’t composed of the stature it’s liner credits may suggest. Cheap production value and equally tried song content really halter the album’s flow. Couple that with the abysmal Gucci Mane verse on “Pretty Girls,” and you have the album’s only shortcomings.

Wale wasn’t as lucky as some of his peers, namely Kid Cudi and Drake. Both of the aforementioned artists had a Kanye West or a Lil Wayne coattail to help propel their career. Wale, however, has built a grassroots following and has been hard at work, releasing three of the more critically lauded mixtapes in the past few years. Aside from Wale’s organic approach to the music and the marketing, it’s that same approach that will allow his career in hip-hop to maintain the commodity that is scarce nowadays; longevity.

Estou muito contente quanto a hoje à noite. Depois de quase um ano de uma turnê sólida, 114 shows em 32 países, chegamos ao desfecho, o show final. Estamos muito entusiasmados e vamos dar tudo o que temos, porque, depois desta noite, sabemos que poderemos relaxar e recarregar as forças. Será muito, muito especial. Na noite passada, Il Divo abocanhou um dos maiores prêmios nos Billboard Touring Awards (espécie de agremiação Billboard para turnês).
 
Os meninos concorriam com outros artistas de peso, como Taylor Swift, Kings of Leon e Lil’ Wayne, mas acabaram no topo.
 
Concedido a artistas de alto faturamento em sua primeira década como atração principal, os meninos ficaram realmente maravilhados em receber tal honra.

where we’ve been very busy catching up on all aspects of life on the road,while we wait to head to Japan next. I have to say that I’ll miss all the stuff you can get to eat here. It’s been amazing food, even the Headstock brothers say the variety of grub has never been better on a tour stop with Eddie. As a nod to being in Hong Kong  Mr. Ersatz has chosen the fourth album from Siouxie and the Banshees titled “Juju” for the pick of the week.  Although not the album that “Hong Kong Garden” is taken from, “Juju” is one of the greatest recordings by any band of that era.  Released in June of 1981 on Polydor,  this album features wonderful guitar work from the late John McGeoch , percussion with “punch” from Budgie, dark and dangerous bass from Steven Severin, and the lilting lovely voice of the one and only Siouxie Sioux.  Every track here is a winner but my personal two favorites back to back are “Halloween” and “Monitor” that close the A side of the album. The goth side of punk never got any better than this collection of tunes, good call Eddie.  Well that’s it for now from here, time to practice and pack for Japan, more to come soon, take care and thanks for checking in. image courtesy of twistedpapers.com

Michael Joseph Jackson was Born on August 29, 1958 in Gary Indiana, He was the 7th child in the Jackson Family. He’s the son of the working class couple Joseph Walter Jackson and Katherine Esther. He’s other siblings are Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy and Janet. Raised as a Jehovah’s Witness by his mother, Michael would perform in an R&B band called the Falcons with Luther, one of his brothers.

Musical talent was seen from Michael early in his life, at the age of 5, he performed in front of his classmates and others during a Christmas party. When he was 6 years old, he joined the Jackson brothers as back up musician playing tambourine and congas and at the age of 8, he became the lead vocals as the group’s name was changed to the Jackson 5.

The Jackson 5 released several songs such as “Big Boy” under the record label Steeltown in 1967 and they signed with Motown Records in 1968. In 1972, Michael Jackson released four solo albums under Jackson 5’s franchise, 2 of them are Got to Be There and Ben.

In 1979, Quincy Jones and Jackson released “Off the wall” . Songwriters included Jackson, Rod Temperton, Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney. It’s also in 1979 that Jackson broke his nose during a complex dance routine and had his rhinoplasty surgery.

In 1982, Michael Jackson released the Thriller. Over 109 millions copies sold, it became the best-selling album of all time. In 1984, While filming a Pepsi Cola commercial in Los Angeles, Jackson suffered 2nd degree burns to his scalp after pyrotechnics set his hair on fire accidentally. It was also in 1984 that he received an award from U.S. president Ronald Reagan for his support of charities for alcoholic people and drug addicts.

He released the highly anticipated “BAD” in 1987 and started the Bad World Tour in the same year and grossed 125 million dollars. In 1993, he was accused of child sexual abuse by a 13-year-old boy, named Jordan Chandler and father Evan Chandler. By the fall of the same year, he got addicted to drugs and went into drug rehabilitation for several months.

He Married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994 and they divorced in 1996. During the HIStory world,, “Michael Jackson“, “Michael Jackson“, tour he married dermatologist nurse Deborah Jeanne Rowe, with whom he had a daughter and a son. They divorced in 1999 but remained friends.

On June 25, 2009, Jackson died of heart attack in Los Angeles ending his long, successful and controversy filled carreer.

Wale’s debut studio album was released today under the labels Interscope, Allido. The album, “Attention Deficit”, has 14 tracks and 2 itunes bonus tracks. The album features well known producers like Cool and Dre, The Neptunes and DJ Green Lantern.

“Chillin” is the first single off the album and I would say was a great one. After hearing this song anyone would want to hear more from him.This song will easily be the party song of the winter.The second single, “World Tour” ft. Jazmine Sullivan, competes with “Chillin” for my favourite. Wale confidence about his rise to the top is inspiring. The third single “Pretty Girls” does not disappoint. It features Gucci Mane which was an immediate turn off for me. I went into listening to this song the first time with a prejudice but i must admit it is just another great song on the album. Gucci Mane avoids saying “Brrr!” which made the song that much better.

Wale is no one hit wonder. I expect to hear much more from him. He has a very diverse flow, he can be intricate and spit metaphor after metaphor, some of which that will make you think before you get it, and he can be simple yet entertaining. Those two attributes have given us this amazing album that will rack up high play counts on iTunes libraries everywhere.

O My Thoughts…..

I got the opportunity to watch, Michael Jackson’s This is it …….

I got the chance because my boss was kind enough to give me two passes for a screening at Liberty……. I wouldn’t have bothered to by tickets after reading what all the critics had to say and might have just watched the DVD….. the critics were on the case  on  blogs and every where else. Who cares what those so called experts think any way. Right !

I went to this premier of sought on the second day of its screening and was watching it with my better half ….. Hmmm ! and mid way I thought to my self…… Gotta write about this….. Gotta …..” This was it “

Seriously Speaking I was expecting much more from a film about MJ after his death, than what i saw before my eyes.  No flash backs, no historical footage nothing ! Nada !

It was only about his upcoming encore performance, his so called finale World Tour…… ” This is it “. I Should  have guessed as much from the title right.

I am no die hard MJ fan………. but i was a fan never the less, So what I saw disappointed me………. but i enjoyed as much as i could. The ending was totally abrupt ! ! ! by the way……….. ! ! !

I am not a person to judge and …….. I don’t care if MJ had a criminal record or not……..  if he did he got away quite easy……… SO much for the American legal system…… LOL

Any way…..MJ  was truly the King of Pop and he definitely knew everything about the music he made…. Its unlikey there will be any one like him for some time as he was a perormfer who crossed barriers and could reach out to millions around the globe with his music.

And his records are likely to be sold for many years to come……….. so although some like to hate him and some like to love him….. I just think that he  deserves his place in POP and music history for the great entertainer he was. After All WHo doesn’t like ” THRILLER “

Movie Review – This is it

” This is it ” for me was a movie that showed Micheal in a new light, how well he knew what he was doing……. how eccentric he was on stage ….. how well he knew his music and how alive he was when he lived. . . The concert I never saw

He knew how to entertain his followers, fans and even someone who showed little interest in him and to hold them till the last note was played……..

From the movie we can see he was a professional, in control of his music but also so supportive towards his crew……. a lot was said about him when he said to  Orianthi the Aussi Guitar sensation – ” this is your moment “……. ( I  personally think that MJ has a thing for blond female guitar players Ex- Jennifer Batten)

he was eccentric……… some times over board……… and who can forget his crouch grabbing move made famous world over and him kicking around on the floor like a baby for the crowds……LOL.  He didn’t look frail like it was reported on the media……… he looked alive and kicking………!

The infamous Kenny Ortega was the director MJ chose like he had done earlier in two occasions……. This man  knows what he’s doing but had screwed up a few time too,by taking up mediocre projects and disappointing us.

But he does have a track record of working with many upcoming and talented actors like the talented teen sensation Vanessa Hudgens in the High School Musical. ……. but if the concert did go on…….. What can we say…. It would have been one of his best work ever. . .

The dancer were hand picked by MJ and knew what they were doing… the leading lady Mekia Cox was in heaven with MJ……the vocalist complimented MJ perfectly……. It would truly have been a one of the greatest comebacks EVER !

The stage……… dancers……..make up…. pyrotechnics……… 3D effect were masterfully done and the remake of the song THRILLER was great (Its hard to make some thing that Good go Bad)….. Heal the world……The Classics were all there……..

Wrapping up,

What can I say about “THIS IS IT “………..

I enjoyed it !

but expected a bit more………..  The makers of this documentary should have added more file footage to it and given us the total MJ experience……. that would have been awesome……… It lacked story telling at least the amount expected of a Documentary of this kind…….

For me …….. MJ 10/10…… This is it 5.75/10

Lazing in the Sun on the Beach, Oh Yes Please.

All we seem to have been doing is moving stuff out of the house and packing things in boxes. The excitement of a one year world journey is hard to feel when all you seem to be doing is giving away all your worldly belongings to a succession of friends, charity shops and family. It’s not that we don’t want to give these things away, we do, It’s just not really exciting. Last night we slept on the floor having given our bed away,. tonight the fridge freezer was picked up, the last remaining TV, my office furniture. I have spent days trying to book a hotel for the first leg of our tour in Pattaya, Thailand. It’s amazing how few hotels bother to reply to enquiries, but hey, I guess 4 people for one month is no big deal The pile of paperwork on my desk is smaller, we still do have items that should have been done weeks ago but we have put off until now, it’s almost too late. It’s amazing to think as I sit here now tapping this out on my Macbook that this time next week I will be sweltering in the heat of Thailand as outside the house it’s bitterly cold and miserably dark. My Father took possession of my Mac Pro which is not only the first real computer he has had but also his first experience of the internet, but with us traveling and my sister working in New York it should make keeping in touch easier. This week another car has been sold leaving us with just one, our old faithful Honda shuttle. My father will take this car over after dropping us off at Heathrow airport. Of course the English pound continues to do a fair impression of a pile of worthless crap seemingly losing value against every currency anywhere in the world. I can’t wait until we actually land so that I can start writing something worth reading only a few days to go.
