I watched the financial stories develop over the last years.  I have read several different media sources.  I observed body language and heard statements in hearings. 

It is a sad tale.  Despite all I’ve written, I want to say it again. 

We apologise for what happened to the Jews.  They were innocent pawns for bolstering  self esteem.  While the world has empathy, we haven’t had the same experience recently.  I’ve been in a Jewish sader, where everyone says, “We will not forget.” 

It is not unprecedented to want revenge.  But there are new generations of humans populating the Earth.  It was U.S. soldiers, opening the doors to the camps.  President Roosevelt helped begin the United Nations to prevent the horrors  from happening again.  The rest of the world isn’t Nazis. 

The age we live in has nuclear weapons.  Not only might the planet be blown up, so could all the planets in the galaxy.  Violence just brings on more violence, then more.  Germany had its Austria and Czechoslovakia, we have our Iraq and Afghanistan.

Assisting Primary School Teaching Students through their design unit, I was asked to fulfill the brief of not only creating a short stop animation, but also designing a poster portraying the folly of war.

I had come up with several ideas centering around the idea of ‘your country needs you’ etc, though I was really interested in Russian propaganda posters and also portraying actual facts. My idea was to show that the scale of wars was getting larger and more incomprehensible as we move forward. Technology and military progression has meant that war has become ridiculously easy.

After researching the death count that occurred in each of the World Wars, I had decided that I was going to create a disturbing bar chart made with human bodies, though an idea popped into my head; are the size of weapons relevant to the amount of casualties or deaths that were produced?

Obama with Chinese Premier ( Reuters)

U.S. President Barack Obama has warned his Chinese counterpart that the United States would not be able to keep Israel from attacking Iranian nuclear installations for much longer, senior officials in Jerusalem told Haaretz.

They said Obama warned President Hu Jintao during the American’s visit to Beijing a month ago as part of the U.S. attempt to convince the Chinese to support strict sanctions on Tehran if it does not accept Western proposals for its nuclear program.

The Israeli officials, who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the matter, said the United States had informed Israel on Obama’s meetings in Beijing on Iran. They said Obama made it clear to Hu that at some point the United States would no longer be able to prevent Israel from acting as it saw fit in response to the perceived Iranian threat.

After the Beijing summit, the U.S. administration thought the Chinese had understood the message; Beijing agreed to join the condemnation of Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency only a week after Obama’s visit. But in the past two weeks the Chinese have maintained their hard stance regarding the West’s wishes to impose sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

The Israeli officials say the Americans now understand that the Chinese agreed to join the condemnation announcement only because Obama made a personal request to Hu, not as part of a policy change.

The only country that runs more efficiently through a world war than through a bloody snow storm.

Uranus is at 4 degrees Cap in modern Iran’s first house, opposite Jupiter and Neptune, inconjunction the natal Moon in Gemini, square the Sun in Libra and making a sextile to Saturn in Pisces in the 2nd house.

What the hell does all of this mean, Denise? All the obnoxious astro jargon, let’s get on with the analysis.

When transiting Pluto hits natal Uranus in a person’s chart it’s like a mini-nuclear bomb goes off in their life. They have a tendency to blow everything up, much to their later chagrin. This is when you find stories of husbands leaving the love of their life for their overweight alcoholic secretary because she tells him how nice he looks everyday so she can get a promotion. She wants to sleep her way to a better paying job (men do this, too and it does happen unfortunately on both counts) and he wants someone to make him feel special. When she gets the better job and he’s filed for divorce and now the other woman has dumped him for her long time love, he’s lost, regretful and has completely destroyed his former life.

When a person is more evolved he/she sees the freight train coming before hand and jumps off the tracks. Unfortunately, those that possess the foresight to do so are extremely rare. We are by nature an extremely myopic race, most often only able to see what is directly in front of us. So Uranus hitting Pluto is a game changer, an explosive one at that. Think even of the roots of the two elements used for nuclear energy and or bombs, uranium and plutonium. Really, this is not a coincidence. As a matter of fact Pluto was found around  the development, production and dropping of the atomic bomb. These energies are big, universal and explosive and Iran being as unstable as it is one can only speculate that there is to be major instability, war or civil unrest brought on by this conjunction.

In the 1960s just the transiting conjunction of Uranus and Pluto was enough to cause the sexual revolution, war and the vehement anti-war movement, civil unrest and the health food movement (the transit planets were both in Virgo) and also the decline in wages leading to the death of the American dream. It  also coincided with a huge drop in the population (due to the advent of the pill and other things). Those who are commonly referred to Gen-X’ers are the smallest in number around the world. My definition of Gen-X is astrological and goes from about 1956/57 until 1969/1979. These people have in common Neptune in Scorpio (thus the obsession with the occult, often unusual sexual proclivities and all things hidden, secret or occult) and Pluto in Virgo which brings with it a desire to be of service, interest in health and healthy living, alternative medicine, natural foods, and unfortunately also brought us lower wages on the whole and perpetual financial problems. Many of us have had to change careers many times over (Virgo is a mutable sign ruled by Mercury) which has made it imperative to change in order to survive.

The super ultra extra generation X-ers are t hose born with Uranus in Virgo conjunct Pluto in Virgo. That configuration started around 1962 and ended around 1968. These people are rebellious by nature, challenging, bright and often visionary but they can often take awhile to find their true path and often feel lost or overwhelmed. They are often late bloomers.

But back to Iran. Transiting Pluto will be conjunct the natal Uranus (in the first  house) starting next year. This will mean there will be radical changes in the way the country sees itself. Most likely there will be a two-fold situation going on, the young and the liberal people will desire an end to their current government and the conservative rule it represents (Capricorn.) And the government itself will feel overly confident about its power in the world and feel it has the world by the balls (so to speak) it therefore could act out irrationally and push boundaries which will probably be triggered by the sanctions put on the country (again in Capricorn – money, career, lively hood, etc.)

My best guess is an uprising from the young people there to overthrow the government and for the government to act out globally therefore crushing the uprising inside the country as the irrational acts of the government will endanger the lives of all those within Iran’s boarders. Again this is very likely a war aspect, being in the first house I would say that it will probably start from within and work its way out. The best case scenario would be a change in the government, a restructuring based on what the people want there and an ousting of their present configuration which is very possible. Let’s hope the struggle stays internal and they just give themselves a face lift or rather a brain transplant. We shall see as we have the power to change our future and the people of Iran still have the power to steer their country toward a brighter future for themselves rather than an international entanglement.

PEACE, this is Daily Bread for Thursday, December Tenth, Two Thousand Nine.

After the last few months, it seems the Brzezinski/Obama Plan has been to refocus on Afghanistan, which in-of-itself is a deception by them.  You see, Congress is still messing with some Clinton-Bush-era tactics of trying to sanction Iran and smear them in the media.  Now, however, Obama-era tactics are to expand the war and cause distraction in order to allow space for Israel to move on Iran, with the assistance of the United States and the British, rather than the United States unilaterally.  Honestly, they don’t care too much about Iraq and Iran because they have other ideas–Russia and China.   They don’t want troops bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan, but they do want troops stationed in the area that can be moved around in smaller, more strategic units.  Think Special Forces and Unmanned Ariel Vehicles.

I read an Op-Ed (hit) piece by (D)–former (R) before he started his “career” as a (D), Arlen Specter (also the LAWyer that came up with the “Magic Bullet Theory” in the Kennedy Assassination) in which he states the need to focus on places like Somalia, Yemen, and Pakistan.  He mentioned convincing Pakistan to move all of it’s troops off the Indian/Kashmir border and move them to the Afghan border to fight “Al Qaeda”.  This elusion to Pakistan-India tension points toward Brzezinski’s plan of ultimately expanding this war around China and Russia.  If the fighting intensifies in the region, it has the potential to spill over into western China where there have already been incidents of violence in the last several years.  This escalation will span from Somalia to the Chinese border to the East, including drawing Iran, Israel, and possibly Lebanon and Syria into this, pushing northward to Georgia, Chechnya, and west to Turkey, Ukraine, Serbia, even Greece, and frankly maybe all the way to London itself.  Remember, if they are successful in this endeavor, the bankers will be even more rich with even wider and tighter control over the Earth.  Awareness is key.

On a quick side-note–Iran has recently been expanding it’s “influence” in places like Brazil, Venezuela and Bolivia.  Now, this is (in)directly connected to the conspiracy for world domination because South America has been quietly infiltrated for centuries by Jesuits and for decades by the CIA.  Like I said, all of this is done in the name of money and power by elitist control freaks.  It won’t be enough until the entire planet is under their system of control.  Think United Nations fronting like the savior of the world but is really the anti-christ.  Furthermore on this subject of Latin America, there has been much unrest in places like Mexico and Honduras, to mention a couple places of recent turmoil and opportunity for the conspiracy to infiltrate and take over control of nations.

*How is it that the majority Christian nations of Central & South America relate to majority Muslim Iran?  In their opposition to US/Western imperialism.  In reality, freemasonry connects them (Freemasonry connects Jewish Kaballah, Roman Catholicism, Muslim Sufism–Think Muslim Assassins & Christian Knights).  Don’t forget after the fall of Nazi Germany (Thule Society), which had very close ties to the Middle East (Islam)(Muslim Brotherhood) in it’s opposition to Israel (Jews)(Zionism), war criminals fled with immunity to both North & South America.  All of these opposing forces are in reality human emotion being played, preyed, and manipulated by occult and hidden forces.  The only way to beat their game is to transcend it.  If you can not control your impulses you will fall to their traps, whether they be emotional, psychological, economic or militarily.

The new military-tactic is not  to occupy nations but to station smaller numbers of troops in many nations, projecting even smaller groups into any nation, in any region the “leaders” see fit, that are opposing Western domination of Earth, it’s people and it’s resources.

Have no doubt about it, this war targets the people of the United States just as much as people from countries across the planet.  However, at this stage of the game, the war against Americans is mostly economic and psychological.  This will be done in the hopes to pacify and wear-down the US-public to the point they have no will to physically put up a fight to these tyrants, or the soldiers who take orders and obey the will of these tyrants, no matter what country they were born and/or reside in.

On two other fronts, you had the G-20 Economic Summit a few months ago and now we have the Copenhagen Conference on “Global Warming”.

In conclusion, the tactics may change subtly or drastically, but ultimately, the end-game of world domination and control is in tact and in progress.

Very recently we welcomed a trio from America, Patrick, Kathy and Rita, who came to this area searching for more information on a particular time in their family’s history. 

Patrick and Kathy were trying to retrace their father’s journey through Italy as a soldier in the US 351st Infantry 88^th “Blue Devil” Division. 

Patrick is currently writing a book about his father’s experiences during this period.  His father sent home many descriptive letters to his new bride, who he had only married the day before his departure from America.

Charles Logan was just 22 years old when he was drafted into the army and sent to fight in Italy along the infamous GUSTAV Line.  His Division disembarked at Naples and was then transported to the town of Piedimonte d’Alife (now known as Piedimonte Matesse)  for combat training.

The 351st Infantry Division was then sent to the GUSTAV Line, on the western flank of the main Fifth Army, to relieve the 5th British Division in the Minturno area in Operation Diadem. The 88^th “Blue Devils”, encountering stiff German resistance, took part in a particularly bitter and bloody battle, which lasted almost 3 days, to seize the village of Santa Maria Infante. 

The capture of this position  on the 14^th May 1944, proved to be a defining moment, finally breaking through the GUSTAV line and forcing a German retreat. 

The French Expeditionary Corps of Morrocan Goumiers*, who were skilled in mountain warfare, continued to make their way forward over the seemingly impassable terrain of the Aurunci Mountains, while the 88^th surged ahead, taking the seaward facing villages of Spigno Saturnia, Castellonorato, Trivio, Maranola, then on through Formia, Itri, Fondi, Monte San Biagio to Roccagorga.

Continuing northward some of the 88^th Divison made contact with  Allied units breaking out of the Anzio beach-head on 29^th May and they were the first to enter Rome on the 4 June 1944.

We had the great pleasure of acting as Patrick’s guide and driver during their stay, and we visited Cassino and  Montecassino and many of the above mentioned towns and villages, travelling some 500 miles during the week.

We learned so much about the historical significance of these places through this traumatic  period of the Second World War.  From the picturesque little villages that we see today, it is hard to imagine what it would have been like for the local people and the opposing  Allied forces during this terrible time.

The Italians had suffered greatly under German occupation, having to endure persecution, reprisals and famine.  Prior to their liberation these villages also had endured heavy land and naval bombardments by the Allied forces which resulted in catastrophic damage, and hundreds of innocent civilian deaths and casualties.

* Yet there was more suffering to come – The French General Alphonse Juin, before the final battles to the breach the German GUSTAV  line, he was said to have promised the Morrocan Goumier troops the following:

“For 50 hours you will be the absolute masters of what you will find beyond the enemy. Nobody will punish you for what you will do, nobody will ask you about what you will get up to.” 

When the Goumiers swarmed over the mountain villages they subjected thousands of Italian women and even young girls to merciless violence and rape, and reportedly any men who fought to save  their wives and daughters from harm were ruthlessly murdered. 

A novel, “La Ciociara”, was penned, based on this subject of mass rape, by the author Alberto Moravia.  This was subsequently made into a film also called “La Ciociara” or  ”Two Women”, directed by Vittorio de Sica, and starred Sophia Loren. In 1960, for this role, she was awarded an Academy Award for Best Actress.

We would just like to wish Patrick Logan good luck with the writing of his book about his father’s war time experiences, and we very much look forward to the book’s publication.

The true story of the bombing of Dresden finally steps out from behind the politics and revisionism. Meticulously researched utilizing records from German as well as Allied sources, Taylor puts lie to the Nazi-created and pacifist/Socialist promoted myths about Dresden: that Dresden was uninvolved in war materials production for the Nazi’s; that it had no strategic function in the Nazi war effort, either as a center for the movement of material and personnel, or as a center for communications; that it was undefended. He also puts lie to the myths that the effect of the bombing was significantly more extensive and uncontrolled than other bombings during the war, and the claim that the bombing was designed as a terror attack and that the attack was aimed at civilians.

One of the most surprising elements of this well written and well documented defense of the Dresden bombing is that Frederick Taylor is a pacifist who makes his pacifistic views clearly apparent in the book. Dredsen, he admits, was simply a bombing mission that went “horribly right” in the midst of an essential war.

I have always been fascinated by military movies. I recently came across this brilliant 1981 feature film – Das Boot (“The Boat”) directed by Wolfgang Petersen adapted from a novel of the same name by Lothar-Günther Buchheim.
Its a german movie and the entire plot revolves around a single mission of a World War II U- Boat, U-96 and its crew. This movie brilliantly depicts both the excitement and the monotony related with a war.The men serving on the boat are ordinary citizens with a desire to do their best for their country and their comrades.It is based on the exploits of a real german officer Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock who was the commanding officer of a U 96 boat during World War II.

What hit me most about the movie was the fact that it runs for almost 4 hours and most of it is inside the claustrophobic interiors of the submarine.It is literally a journey through the highs and lows which a sailor faces while on duty.The thrill of hunting for a destroyer or the fear when being depth charged have been showcased brilliantly all along.There are many unforgettable scenes in the movie,one of my favorite being the moment when the submarine has sunk to the sea shell and is trying to resurface.During this entire sequence each and every sailor is shown trying to help in whatever way he can to make the submarine resurface.All the sailors help in repairing the damages which caused the submarine to sink.

At the end it all comes down to blowing the ballast of water out of the submarine to make it resurface.At this very moment you become one with the sailors and feel the excitement when the submarine starts to rumble because of the ballast. And here comes a scene where all sailors are standing in a semi-circle looking at each other and at the depth indicator. As the depth indicating needle starts moving up, they roar with joy in unison. This scene is simply overwhelming.At that very moment i truly understood the real value for life.

Many features of a sailor’s life are depicted realistically in this movie. Initially old sailors have strong bonds between them and newbies have to face many jokes and insults before they are finally accepted as a part of the group.Ideological differences amongst the sailors lead to a lot of struggle initially before they finally accept each other whole heartedly.The bond between the sailors thickens as the movie progresses.
Another great feature of this movie is the accuracy and the attention to detail which has been given to each and every aspect of the movie.Whether it is the depiction of the common naval disease “Crabs” or whether it is the accompanying music everything is just perfect.To show the camaraderie being built amongst the sailors in the initial part of the movie,a very apt marching track “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary” is played where all the sailors are shown singing to its tunes together.

Also the action scenes when the submarine is shown hunting for the destroyers are power packed and filled with excitement.In short this movie is a window to the world which has no windows at all !

These are some of the thoughts and quotes that I have deduced from my own experience. They are nothing but my observation of the human nature, behavior and the way humans live. Please keep in mind that these quotes apply to 95% of the situations or people. Count the rest of 5% as exceptions where these will not be applicable, as it generally happens with every experience:

The day I started doing a job in private industry, I lost my personal life, I lost my social-life, I lost my my family-life, my financial life and my health and I lost the hours and minutes I use to enjoy myself or help other people or thinking about how to help the society. The only thing that is left is how I perform at my job.

Soldiers of any country are Patriots, I have no doubt about that. And I think that statement is misleading. The complete statement will be Soldiers of any country are Blind-Patriots, I have no doubt about that.

US soldiers (Blind-Patriots) are employees of the US corporations, though they are neither aware of the fact (they don’t want to) nor get any salaries from them.

Indian government does not have corruption problem, Indian government does not have economic problems, India does not have population problem. India has leadership problem. We lack a visionary and courageous leader.

Oh..c’mon, people never wake-up. Revolutions based entirely on waking people up have failed and fail and will keep on failing. Because no one is sleeping. They all are already awake and well. There is no revolution that can change the fundamentals of human nature. The world can be entirely different if those revolutionaries will start working on human behavior rather than human nature.

Being selfish is the human nature. Now to what degree that selfishness appears in behavior depends on the environment they are in. Deal with the reality, human, by nature is selfish, more than other species .

The system of modern and well educated slavery is really a great success. In ancient slavery, a slave has to depend on his master for food and clothes and shelter. In modern, industrial slavery a slave has to take care and feed his family on his own. Rest of the structure is same. This is the basis of monetary based economy.

Wars, Hunger, Starvation, Slavery, Human-Rights violations, Murders, Corruption, Racism, Jihad, Crimes, Drug problems, Abductions, Kidnaps, all are just effects of Monetary Based Economy. To solve these problems, you have to deal with the cause, the underlying Money based Economic Structure. Implementing a Resource Based Economy will solve 95% of these problems.

I thought there was no solution to world problems like Murders, Rapes, Riots, Corrupted governments and agencies, Hunger, Drugs addictions etc etc. Humans are selfish, this is their nature. No one can change Human nature. Its the extract of my years of experience. And here comes the Jacque Frasco, he proved me wrong in just 2 hours.

Why should I fear someone quite powerful. I am going to die anyway without knowing when.

95% of the general population have same habits and behaviors, same likes and dislikes and same way of thinking and living. They are non-intellectuals, they live a same stupid way of life. There is no need of millions of Psychologists and spend billions of dollars into research to know that. Its plain common-sense.

When your lover has already abandoned your love, when she can live happily without you, why you can not ? Can you make a list of your losses that you are grieving about ?

In a money based economy, any powerful politician who tries to put power from the hands of corporations, administrative officers and secret agencies back into the hands of the people will not survive long. Don’t try to abolish corrupted corporations, politicians, judicial, army and administrative officers and secret agencies, they will take you down. The only solution is to create a resource based economic structure, which will throw them out. Remember, you do not fight with the people. You fight with the current structure and then the people who are at loss because of new structure will fight back with you. At first place you change the structure, you never try to change the people. When a structure changes then you don’t need to fight every dishonest and corrupt, structure itself will employ people without you knowing anything.

I told my friends that when my parents will set up an arranged marriage for me, the first two questions I will ask of the girl will be: Why you want to marry ? and Why you want to marry me ? And they said these are the 2 most stupid questions they have ever heard. I wonder why.

I used to believe that humans live their lives on the basis of reasoning. But my experience told me that majority of them live their lives on the basis of their foolish and illogical habits, not by their logical brains.

Control what people see and listen and you will control people.

95% of the public does nothing to help their country to grow and enrich. This world is in the hands of 5% of the population.

Truth is stranger than fiction. Perhaps the author forgot to add one word to his saying: unpleasant.

Whether you like the truth or not, whether you agree with the truth or not, never makes any difference to the truth itself. Truth does not care. Burning someone for speaking the truth will not help as truth will remain the truth. You can’t bend, erase or burn it. Later in future it overtakes all the lies.

There are comedy movies that Hollywood movie directors make and there are comedy movies that Adam Sandler makes.

I will never learn Martial-Arts from any Master who has a large belly, unless he is Steven Seagal.

Geneva: A United Nations led effort to create an ‘International Anti-Terrorism Day’ resulted in a stalemate after member countries of the UN general assembly failed to reach a consensus on the choice of the day of the year to be observed as World Anti-Terrorism Day.

A motion to declare September the eleventh of every year as the day to mark International day against terrorism was tabled by US ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice. When US envoy objected saying that less than 200 people died on 26/11 in comparison to over 3000 victims of 9/11 attacks, Sen reminded the assembly that India has been a victim of terrorism since several decades and therefore it would be most appropriate that the day chosen to mark as International Anti-Terrorism Day should be a day which is memorable to Indians for its fight against terrorism. “Terrorists have killed more Indians than people of any other nationality. Unlike US, which has experienced the horrors of terrorism only a couple of times in its entire history, we have faced hundreds of terror attacks for many decades in almost every state of India which have claimed lacs of lives.” thundered Mr. Sen. “We demand that we should be given the right to chose International Anti-Terrorism Day”

Immediately, Pakistan’s envoy to UN, Abdullah Haroon, objected to India’s demand saying that Pakistan deserves to be given the right to choose the day. “Other countries may have faced terrorism, but no other country in the world is as closely linked to terrorism as Pakistan. Our country is universally recognized as epicenter of international terrorism. As biggest exporter of terrorism, we deserve the right to choose International Anti-Terrorism Day.”  said Mr. Haroon. But when asked by some members to provide a suitable day for the purpose, the Pakistani envoy fumbled for words. “It is difficult to choose a single day right away since we have been exporting terrorism 365 days a year, but I will check with the interior ministry of Pakistan to find out on which day our terror exports have boomeranged on us causing us maximum casualties.”

Israel’s representative to the UN, Gabriela Jew, feeling left-out from the proceedings, joined in the discussion by pooh-poohing India and Pakistan’s claims and said that Israel has the sole right to chose the day. She pointed out to the general assembly that Israel was the only country in the world whose creation itself resulted in terrorism. “Palestinians have been terrorizing us since the day Israel was created through UN mandate. Modern terrorism began in Israel. In fact, we practically invented the word ‘terrorism’. Prior to creation of Israel, terrorists were called by different names depending on their aims and objectives. In the ancient and medieval times, they were termed as hashasins or zealots. Later they were called as revolutionaries, anarchists, assassins, nationalists and even freedom-fighters. But after the armed resistance of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) against the creation of Israel, all armed groups fighting against any legitimate UN-approved state are uniformly called terrorists.”

“Imagine the confusion if there was no common, generally accepted definition of terrorism. Militant groups would have gained legitimacy by calling themselves as revolutionaries or freedom-fighters. By just giving the world modern definition of terrorism, we have united the entire world against terrorism..against every act of violence against the state.” The ambassador proposed that Israel’s independence day, May 14, should be declared as International Anti-Terrorism Day. This led to laughter amongst the Arab block of countries. One of the ambassadors laughingly agreed with the Israeli envoy and said that he fully supports the choice of that date. “No other day better represents the oppression of the Palestinian people through state terrorism of Israel.” he quipped.

Susan Rice interrupted the discussion reminding the assembly the importance of 9/11 terror attacks in changing the world. “Everyone agrees the world changed forever after 9/11 attacks. Millions may have died from terrorism else where in the world prior to September 11, 2001. But it was the attacks on twin towers that brought terror right into the homes of billions of television viewers all over the world. The image of airplanes crashing into WTC towers has been imprinted forever in the minds of billions.” she said to the assembly.

The Russian envoy agreed with Rice that the televised terror of 9/11 was indeed an unforgettable  experience but said that the powerful imagery of the twin towers being hit by airplanes didn’t match the sheer magnificence of the mushroom clouds generated by the attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and to the shock of all members of the assembly, proposed that August 6, the day Hiroshima was nuked by US, should be observed as International Anti-Terrorism Day. Everyone looked at the Japanese ambassador expecting him to react favorably to the proposal, but an embarrassed Yuki Chu looked away shaking his head in disapproval.

But the Russian ambassador to the UN, Adam Martyn, grabbing the opportunity to embarrass United States was in no mood to relent and pointed out that no other single act of terror in the history of planet has caused as much destruction to life and property as the bombing of the two Japanese towns. “Over 2 lac people were killed by the atomic blasts within just 3 days. The twin bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki has killed nearly 100 times more people than the twin attacks on WTC towers. In terms of impact, devastation, loss of life, sheer horror of the after-effects and stunning photography, the twin atomic blasts easily beat all other terror attacks throughout the history of mankind.”

A stunned Ms Rice vetoed down the Russian proposal and registered a strong protest against the Russian ambassador for terming the nuking of Japanese towns as an terrorism. “An act of military attack approved and enforced under the direction of the POTUS can never be regarded as an act of terror.” screamed a shocked Susan and reminded the Russian envoy about the atrocities and executions committed by the Russian communist leader Joseph Stalin.

Diplomats from many countries seized the opportunity to demand that any war not legitimized by UN should be termed as an act of terrorism. An unidentified diplomat was heard muttering that “War is terrorism with a bigger budget.” provoking laughter in his vicinity.

To many Britons, Calais is their first sight of mainland Europe. Quite what the locals think, Im not sure, as they watch cars being laden with beer and wine until the suspension groans. The cross channel shopping trade flourishes due to a weak Euro and low alcohol and tobacco taxation on the French side. As Calais is the closest port to the UK it has led to it becoming Europes busiest passenger port.

This geographical closeness has also afforded the town a rich history but World War Two bombing has destroyed many of its physical manifestations.

Calais has been invaded by numerous countries throughout its history, including the Romans, Spanish, English.

Tourist Information Office is within the old town and easy to find.

The town walls have gone but the canal that formed the moat around the town remains. The 13th Century Watchtower in the Place d Armes survives. It was close to this watchtower that six Burghers offered their lives if the English would spare the lives of the towns occupants. Edward III had just defeated the town following a seven month siege in 1347. They were only spared on the intervention of Edwards wife Phillipa of Hainault. The famous statue by Rodin outside the Town Hall commemorates these 6 Burghers.

The English stayed for 200 years but their influence extended much longer. In the 19th Century, Lacemakers from Nottingham settled in the town. You can learn more about the history of lace making by visiting the Muse des Beaux Arts et de la Dentelle. It also displays a fine selection of watercolours and sculpture related drawings.

Other sights worthy of a visit include the old harbour and old lighthouse which dates from 1848. The lighthouse affords a good view of the Port and environs.

Hidden amidst the trees in the park opposite the Town Hall is an old German communications bunker. This is now home to the Muse de la Guerre, War Museum. The displays show life during the Second World War.

You should include time to visit the Cite de l Europe and the Euro tunnel Terminal if you are in Calais. To the South West of Calais the Cap Blanc Nez and Cap Griz Nez and the bay of Wissant are quite beautiful. The Atlantic Wall Museum and La Fortresse de Mimoyecues are two World War Two Museums that shouldnt be missed at all.

MOSCOW — A militant Islamist group claimed responsibility Wednesday for last weekend’s deadly Russian train bombing, as investigators said the well-planned attack resembled tactics used by Chechen rebels.

The so-called “Caucasus Emirate,” an umbrella group uniting various Islamist factions, said in a statement posted on a Chechen rebel website that it was behind the attack that killed 26 people and injured around 100 others.

“This operation was prepared and executed along with other acts of sabotage, planned from the start of this year and successfully carried out against a set of strategically important sites in Russia, on the orders of Caucasus Emir Dokku Umarov,” the statement said.

There was no immediate way of verifying the claim. The statement was posted on KavkazCenter.com, a website that has been used as a mouthpiece by Chechen rebels.

Umarov is the self-proclaimed leader of the Caucasus Emirate, which has sought to establish Islamic Sharia rule in Russia’s largely Muslim North Caucasus region.

Friday’s bombing struck the Nevsky Express, an upscale passenger train running from Moscow to Saint Petersburg popular with well-off Russians and foreign tourists.

Prosecutors have opened a terrorism investigation into the blast, which was the first major attack to hit Russia’s heartland, outside the North Caucasus, since a spate of suicide bombings in Moscow in 2003 and 2004.

The statement on KavkazCenter.com said the train “was mainly used by the ruling bureaucrats of Russia.”

At least two government officials were killed on the train, and the chief of Russia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, was injured by a remote-controlled bomb blast when he arrived at the scene the next day.

Bastrykin — whom officials say was not seriously injured — said in a newspaper interview that the bomb that injured him resembled explosive booby-traps laid by Chechen rebels in earlier attacks.

“The second blast at the site of the train disaster could have been targeted directly at the investigative group. Such a tactic has been used by terrorists in the North Caucasus,” he told the official state newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta.

Meanwhile, media reports said police were looking for four suspects of non-Slavic appearance, said to be of a Caucasus ethnicity.

The Kommersant newspaper and the Interfax news agency, citing unnamed police sources, said the four had rented a room in Lykoshino, a village two kilometres (1.2 miles) from the disaster scene, in the days before the bombing.

Officials were tight-lipped about the Caucasus Emirate’s claim of responsibility. “We do not comment on such information,” an unnamed security official told the ITAR-TASS state news agency.

Chechen rebels have previously issued bogus claims of responsibility, such as one for a deadly August disaster at a Siberian hydro-electric plant that later turned out to have been caused by a technical fault.

Shortly after the train bombing, an obscure Russian ultra-nationalist group calling itself Combat 18 claimed responsibility, but both officials and other nationalists said the claim was not credible.

Investigators have said that Islamists were behind a previous bombing of the Nevsky Express, in August 2007, which injured 60 people.

Also on Wednesday, thousands of people gathered to denounce the attack and mourn the victims at rallies backed by the ruling United Russia party.

Some 4,000 people gathered near a World War II memorial complex in Moscow, while around 1,500 people attended a similar rally in Saint Petersburg.

“I am afraid for the life of our country,” said Natalya Petrenko, 45, who attended the rally in Saint Petersburg.

“I don’t know what to do now or who can help us. This wasn’t the first terrorist attack, and I don’t see the government doing anything about it.”
