The Burj-al-Arab has 60 guest floors, stands at 321 metres tall and is constructed on an artificial island that is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. Construction of the Burj-al-Arab began in 1994 and was built to resemble the sail of a dhow – a type of Arabian sea vessel.

The Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel is a 56-floor five-star business hotel in Dubai which stands at a height of 309 metres and is the 29th tallest currently-standing structure in the world. The Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel is also referred to as Emirates Tower Two and is connected to the 54-floor Emirates Office Tower by a retail boulevard and together the two structures form the Emirates Towers complex, which is complete with lakes, waterfalls, public seating areas and has ample car parking space for up to 1800 cars.

The poor animal was kept in a space that may have been too small, meaning in his desperation he saw his own tail and thought it was another snake. The tail tip was about to be digested by the time the vet unclamped his jaws.

Well – usually. I think in a case like this, an animal which knows that little of its arse from its elbow(!) shouldn’t really need to complain. And it’s only being paraded as much as a human who would do the same thing. Just look at world’s heaviest man Paul Mason in the Sun.

In fact, in my opinion, the real discrimination would be if poor Loopy Reggie wasn’t allowed to enter the Darwin awards. Not that it would win. People have done far stupider things than a snake ever could.

Well, if I could afford Tivo, I would really like to rewind this commercial when it comes on so I could have a second chance at finding the joke.  Seriously, I miss it every time.  Those folks over at Geico must do a really good job hiding it because I’m almost convinced there actually is no joke.

Anyways, I guess the whole point of this commercial is to show you how much money you could be saving if you switched to Geico.  What confuses me is this little money stack with eyes is supposed to represent that “money which could have been saved” but since you would have already spent that money with your other insurance company, does that mean that that money stack with eyes is a ghost of your spent money?  It would have to be a ghost because if it was physically there, then that would mean you never spent that money on the other insurance company.  And if you never spent it on the other insurance company, then you just took out a stack of money for no fucking reason and glued eyes on it, not saving anything.  Mindfuck.  But that’s just looking too far into a commercial that doesn’t deserve any type of thought.  Not only is this commercial incredibly unfunny, the song played at the end is like a parasite that latches on to your brain and forces you to replay that song over and over and over until you finally manage to forget it.  And as soon as you do, another one of this fucking stupid commercials comes on.  I really don’t have anything else to say about it because my brain has suffered enough from watching them let alone talking about them.

For divers who aren’t using a scuba dive computer to manage their nitrogen levels, it’s important to use dive tables to keep track of downtime. In order to make use of these tables effectively, a dive watch is required. How’s a dive watch different from an ordinary wristwatch? Two things make it stand out. First, and most obviously, dive watches are water resistant. They also have a rotating bezel.

Water Resistance – a real dive watch will have a depth or pressure rating. Remember to look for depth ratings that are lower than you’re intending to go. The depth rating is when the watch stops working, and that’s something you don’t want to experience. Therefore, even if you’re not planning to go deeper than a hundred feet, look for a dive watch that’s rated for two hundred. Remember that simple waterproof watches aren’t the same thing. While you can take a shower or wash your dishes with them on, they have no ability to withstand pressure, and will break or leak while diving. You can find dive watches that go between a hundred and three hundred yards in most shops, and some specialty types are rated for five hundred. However, the more pressure your dive watches is rated for, the more expensive it will be.

Adjustable Bezel – The bezel is the rotating dial on your dive watches face. It has a pointer indicator, allowing you to align the bezel with your minute hand when you’re ready to dive. It’ll stay put while you’re under water. To see how long you’ve been down, look at the position of the pointer, which is when you began the dive, and compare it to the position of the minute hand. Good dive watches have clear, easy to read faces that allow you to see just how long you’ve been down. For safety reasons, the bezel on a good dive watch will only turn counter-clockwise. That’s so that if you bump it and get wrong information, it’ll tell you that you’ve been down longer than you have, rather than allowing you to stay down for more time than you should.

While a good dive watch can be expensive, it’s worth the cost in the long run. Without it, it’s impossible to time your dive correctly, and that can be hazardous to your health. Fortunately, you can find dive watches easily. Since they’re so durable and water resistant, they’ve become popular as watches for street wear. Just beware of buying imitations that have the look, but not the features of a dive watch. Swim shops, sporting goods stores, and even discount stores online all carry dive watches, so getting one before you swim beneath the surface is simple.

The Protea Banks are an impressive series of reefs located approximately 8 kilometres off the shore at Margate, on the Kawazulu Natal Coast in South Africa. Widely recognised as one of the worlds best dive sites, the Protea Banks is more commonly known for its well deserved reputation for shark encounters in their natural habitat.

What makes the scuba diving at the Protea Banks so special, is the opportunity to encounter a whole range of large pelagics such as the numerous Manta Rays and Spotted Eagle Rays, as well the wide range of reef fish which also frequent the area. However, what the Protea Banks really delivers on is sharks, and lots of them. A huge variety of sharks can be sighted here including Bull Sharks (Zambesi), Tiger sharks, Ragged Tooth sharks, Black Tip sharks, Mako sharks and even the off Great White shark can be sighted here at the Protea Banks.

There is seasonality to the occurrences of specific shark species at the Protea Banks, and so if you are hoping to encounter a particular species, it is worthwhile researching these patterns in advance, to maximise your chance of an encounter. For those scuba divers wanting to dive with the areas famous ragged tooth sharks, or “raggies,” then it would be best to consider visiting the Protea Banks during the August and September months, when the ragged tooth sharks visit the area as a part of their breeding cycle. For divers seeking an encounter with the Bull sharks, then you would need to look at diving around November time, when the Bull sharks follow the game fish into the Protea Banks.

The diving at the Protea Banks tends to be split between the Northern and Southern Pinnacles. During the cooler winter months, the majority of the diving takes place at the Northern Pinnacles, where large congregations of ragged tooth sharks can be found on a regular basis. For the rest of the year, the diving tends to be focussed around the Southern Pinnacles, were Bull sharks, Hammerheads and Tigers are often sighted.

It would be impossible to discuss the scuba diving at the Protea Banks without mentioning the Sardine Run, an annual phenomenon which is unique to South Africa. Each year, during the months of June and July, vast shoals of sardines pass through the region, attracting huge numbers of whales, dolphins and sharks who visit to feast on the sardines.

The water temperature at the Protea Banks ranges from around 19 degrees Celsius in the cooler winter months, up to around 24 degrees Celsius in the summer period. The water visibility in the area can vary massively depending on the conditions and the time of year and can be anything between 5 to 40 metres.

Overall, the diving at the Protea Banks can only be described as exceptional, however it should be stressed that there are strong currents in the area, and it is only for experienced scuba divers only.

For fans of shark diving however, the Protea Banks is a genuinely unique dive site, and undoubtedly, it is well worth the long journey to this stunning part of South Africa.

Joy Perfume is launched by the design house of Jean Patou in 1930. Jean Patou was a great innovator. Born in 1887, he moved to Paris in 1910 founded his fashion and perfume house in 1919, and died in 1936 aged 49. He was essentially a man of the 1920s an 1930s and he seems to have come into the fashion world quite suddenly, for we hear little of him until he presented his first collection in 1919. In 1930, Jean Patou wanted to send a gift to his many regular international clients who he knew would be unable to visit Paris that year. He asked Almeras to create something very strong and simple, and it has to be made regardless of the cost of the ingredients. It is the quality of the rose and jasmine used which makes Joy so special; one ounce, it is said, requires over 10,000 jasmine flowers and 28 dozen roses. Joy is classified as a refined, flowery fragrance. This feminine scent possesses a blend of rare oils including jasmine and rose. But Joy does not just smell of Rose and Jasmine, it smells huge, luscious and utterly wonderful. It is suitable for daily use, work and evening wear.

Dune by Christian Dior

Christian Dior established Parfums Dior with the launch of Miss Dior in 1947. He had always been attracted to fragrances and once confessed that as a child he had never dreamed of becoming a dress-designer; his early memories of women were not of their dresses but the perfumes they wore. Altogether Parfums Christian Dior has launched 18 fragrances and Dior perfumes are always innovative, designed to set new trends. Dune which won the 1993 FiFi award for best woman’s fragrance, introduced the oceanic note which has been popular ever since and made it Dior’s best selling perfume. Dune is classified as a refreshing, oriental and woody fragrance. This feminine scent possesses a blend of amber, wallflower as well as watery notes of the fresh, cool sea air. Incredibly exudes an aura of warmth & harmony. It is recommended for daily use, work and daytime wear.

L’Heure Bleue by Guerlain

In 1828, Pierre-Francois-Pascal Guerlain opened his first little store in Paris, he began by producing different personalized fragrances for each of his clients. With his reputation growing, he gained a royal warrant from the Queen of Belgium and in 1853, his Eau Imperiale perfume delighted the Empress Euginie. He was appointed his Majesty’s Official Perfumer and went on to provide perfumes for half the royal houses in Europe. Since then, Guerlain has so many top-class perfumes and the company has produced well over 300 fragrances. But I am just going to attempt to describe the best of the lot, the L’Heure Bleue. In 1912, it was Pierre-Francois-Pascal Guerlain’s grandson, Jacques Guerlain that created this famous, innovative floral-oriental L’Heure Bleue, it means ‘the blue hour’. L’Heure Bleue is a blend of roses, iris, and jasmine. L’Heure Bleue is most certainly a feminine, timeless stunner. For women favoring subtle, slightly sweet and even less spicy fragrances, this classic scent must be tried.

The Citizen dive watch is amongst the best regarded, established dive watch available today. Far be it from creating expensive diving watches that are unobtainable to the average scuba diver, a Citizen diving watch is both sturdy enough to resist the rigors of a seawater environment, yet affordable enough to serve as either a primary or back-up watch. This is possibly why the Citizen watchmaker has such a loyal following amongst not just scuba divers, but swimmers, water skiers, wake surfers, wind surfers, jet skiers, sailors and surfers.

Citizen was originally established under the name “Shokosha Watch Research Institute” back in 1918. The trading name “Citizen“, arose from a pocket watch of the same title which was traded on the market in 1924. During the last 75 years, Citizen extended its business to eventually attain global recognition. The last twenty-five year period in particular, saw the company experience its most impressive growth, leading to the commanding position maintained today as one of the biggest watchmakers on the planet.

Citizen is best recognized for its “EcoDrive” solar system. Citizen “Eco” watches possess an environmentally friendly technology that captures ambient light sources to significantly increase watch’s power level. Using solar panels, the Citizen watch can top up the battery even under fluorescent and other kinds of non-natural light sources.

Eco-Drive watches also contain a smart power saving mode that activates when the power generating mechanism stops gathering energy due to lack of light energy input. In this power saving state, the power save effects vary from model to model, the watch halts the second hand at the 12 o’clock point. If the watch is stored in darkness for any more than three days, the other hands as well as the calendar also cease to move to reduce battery drain entirely. In all power save states, the inner time is maintained, so that when more light is obtained by the dial, the watch will restart regular operation with the correct time.

There are a number of time-pieces within Citizen’s “diver watch” range. The majority can tolerate water pressure equivalent to 200 m below sea level. Citizen watches across the board are marked either as “Diver’s 200M (air diver’s 200m)” or “Water resistant 20 bar (200m))” – (or to the depth rating of the given watch). The difference between the two depth rating systems are that Diver’s 200M (Air diver’s 200m) are subjected to a series of severe water resistant trials prior to delivery from the factories, whereas WR200 (Water resistant 20 bar) watches are created for consumers who are often in contact with water in their daily lives. These watches are not upheld to the same standard tests as the Diver’s 200M, so are not assured to stand up when subjected to the tougher conditions of scuba dives.
