Have you ever felt that you just couldn’t go on?  Have you ever just thought it would be just easier to quit?  Maybe that is what you feel like right now.  I think that everyone of us has felt this way at one time or another.  But there are some people around us that just seem to be able to fight through the battles with a little more strength then we do, why is that?

These people have found the people in their lives that are willing to lift their hands up in victory.  No I am not talking about like after a fighter wins in the cage or if a wrestler wins a match.  But people that are willing to support them as they walk through life, these are accountability partners, best friends, bible study leaders.  These are the people that you can go to when life is getting to you.  These are the people that you can tell your struggles too.  These are the guys that will hold up your arms.  Check this out:

The day began like any other ordinary day. You know, the usual morning routine…. alarm clock goes off, you hit a button, lay your head back down, your wife rudely awakens you and hour and a half later telling you you only have 45 minutes before the limo needs to be at the hotel. Yeah, one of those. For those of you who are not limo driver’s, getting ready for work, may take a little longer then your usual schmoo. You have to look clean cut, shaven, fresh, smelling good, looking good in a suit and tie with polished shoes, no body odor or bad breath,like showers aren’t your kryptonite.

My contract never mentions stage names so I only knew I was picking up a WWE wrestler. No other then…

my man…. MVP. We had his media day and so I got to visit all the local TV and radio stations, walk around through the live recordings of the shows and watch backstage around the switchboards. Pretty cool stuff.

Later we  did a signing at a car dealership.

Ill add some more to this post tomorrow. Its late and I have been working long and hard. Plus I got more pictures and more stories coming up. Seems like they got me working so hard, I got more stories then I can tell it seems. Anyway, good night!

“In June 2010, Lego will launch a new collectors series with only minifigs. The figures will be of various types, but is reportedly not being those from current themes. They could be anything from cowboys to ninjas or adventurers, etc. The first wave will appear in stores in June, reportedly contain 16 different characters. These will then be replaced by 16 other figures in August.

“Figures will be sold in opaque polybags, so it is chance that determines which figure you get. This is the same approach as in the example trading cards. The bag with the figure will cost 25 SEK. May seem much given to impulse setter costs only £ 5 more and then there is also the accessories. But I suspect that the high price is because the characters will be unique to this collector series and that they will only be produced in two months (at least the first wave).” (thanks et314 for the news and translation)

If this is true it is possibly the coolest thing coming out next year!

Think collectible cards meets LEGO. I’m rather excited by the concept. Although to be fair Playmobile has been doing that sort of thing for years.

The only difference is the “unknown” factor. But from the look of the figures available even if you do get multiples it would be okay because these are all pretty neat looking and I can see lots of uses for the figures and their respective parts.

No word on if these will be available in the States. In fact there is very little info on these at all. As soon as I know anything I’ll let you know.

Ok, so not much has happened in the last few days except for Thanksgiving, watching some amazing movies, namely The Proposal, and The Ugly Truth, picking out a song for an upcoming musical audition, and just general lounging.

So, the main reason behind this new blog is to show two amazing pictures that I found. The first one I got from the amazing Josh Groban. He posted a tweet a few weeks back from his hotel room. The caption that he put with it was “Do you ever get the feeling that you are being watched?” I decided that I needed to take this picture and share it with everyone simply because of its sheer awesomeness.

So and then I found another one. When I was blogging about New Moon in a previous post, I was looking for different pictures on Google to help illustrate different things. Well if you read that blog, you will see that I have the title screen of New Moon. When I searched for the image, I got a lot of pictures of the moon, some stills from the movie, and then I got something totally unexpected. And it is something that needs to be shared with you as well.

So what does this picture have anything to do with New Moon? I have no idea whatsoever. I didn’t go to the website to see what the page was about that this picture was on, but I was just in shock from seeing this picture in the search.

Hmmmmmm!?!?!

Why the sly devils! Capcom really have become the hype masters with its drip-feeding of screenshots and information for forthcoming revamp Super Street Fighter IV. We already know that the updated game will include new fighters Juri, T.Hawk and Dee Jay, as well as a return of bonus rounds and the addition of two new ultra combos per character.

But what’s this? The latest tantalising screenshot shows Chun-Li being hammered by a focus attack on an all-new stage. Who does the stage belong to? Who is she fighting against? What does the statue of  a wrestler in the background signify?

If I was being sensational, I’d hazard a guess that this is the stage of R.Mika, the lady-wrestler from Street Fighter Alpha 3. Like Zangief, she’s Russian and in Alpha 3 she fights in a construction yard so this could be a valid guess.

Or, this could just be a new stage for Zangief, which is less newsworthy and less exciting.

I recently bought a 2nd hand copy of Mickey Rourke’s new film, The Wrestler. I’ve been wanting to see it for a while but had not the necessary funds, as I wanted to own it and not rent and so waited for the price to come down. I finally got it watched last night, during a bout of the flu, and I’m glad I did. The film, I thought, is great. If you like your films slow, deep and full of human interaction then this one’s for you. I also found it quite sad, given that the two leads, Rourke and Marissa Tomei, are both playing characters ‘past their best’. For anyone who hasn’t yet heard of it, the film is about an ageing former professional wrestler Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson (Rourke). His glory days behind him, he ekes out a living through personal appearances and wrestling bouts in low key locations. Tomei plays an ageing stripper, known as, ’Cassidy’ to her customers. When a heart attack forces him into early retirement Randy starts trying to build bridges with his estranged daughter and takes a full-time job on the deli counter of a local supermarket. However, ultimately, he can’t deny what he is and by the end of the film, he has been led back into the ring. The film also reminded me of when I was much younger and used to watch the WWF (Now WWE) wrestling on television. Even though it’s been almost two decades since I last watched a match I can, oddly, still remember almost all the wrestlers names. This is a film for those who like the films they watch to make them think and I highly recommend it. Thanks for reading.

Mario Lopez, Jr. (born October 10, 1973) is an American actor of Mexican descent who has appeared on several television series, in films and on Broadway. He is best-known for his portrayal of the character Albert Clifford A.C. Slater on Saved By The Bell from 1989-1994.

Lopez’s professional career began in 1985 when he appeared as younger brother Tomás in the short-lived ABC comedy series a.k.a. Pablo. In March 1987. he was cast as a guest star on the popular sitcom Golden Girls as a Mexican boy named Mario who faces deportation. In 1989, Lopez was cast as A.C. Lopez’s character was a masculine, athletic student, helping to garner the actor a sizeable teenage-girl fan base. After Saved by the Bell ended in 1993, Lopez went on to reprise his role as A.C. They were engaged during the summer of 2003 and married on April 24, 2004, but two weeks later she had the marriage annulled over alleged infidelities committed by Lopez during the relationship.

In 2007, Lopez became an official supporter of Ronald McDonald House Charities and is a member of their celebrity board, called the Friends of RMHC. Lopez was named People magazine’s “Hottest Bachelor” in June 2008.

Mario admits to enjoying an occasional cigar. His drink of choice when in Rome or Mexico are margaritas, in the States his preference is vodka.

Are you ready for this week’s caption contest?  I know some of you are, because I actually got e-mail letting me know there wasn’t one posted on-time.   (It’s nice to be missed!)  The reason for the delay is because of an electrical malfunction at the Buffet o’ Blog headquarters, preventing me access to my computer and the Internet for a few days.  Now that it’s resolved, things can return to normal (or a reasonable approximation thereof).

Since this week’s caption contest is late, here’s an extra special photo.  And by special, I mean “lots of humor potential”.  It’s a sumo wrestler, performing some sort of introductory dance.  Let the humor begin!

10 weeks and 1 day

Sunday, November first was Kami’s 10 week mark that he has been in Broward Transitional Center.  And his case has officially been sitting in Falls Church, Virginia at the BIA for 2 months as of yesterday.  The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) is the highest administrative body for interpreting and applying immigration laws.  Generally, the Board does not conduct courtroom proceedings – it decides appeals by conducting a “paper review” of cases.  There are around 15 Board members who are in charge of final decisions on cases. Unless someone knows a high power politician, Kami’s fate is in their hands.

We have decided that some outside pressure on BIA will assist in speeding up the process of getting his case reopened.  We figure right now, his case is sitting in a pile with hundreds of other cases and when the committee members finally do come across his, to them, it is just another name and alien number. BIA’s own website states:

“The immigration court system receives a staggering number of cases – approximately 271,000 a year. Due to an inefficient adjudication process, the Board has not been able to keep up with its appellate caseload. Despite a steady increase in the number of Board members over the last several years, the Board has accrued a backlog of more than 56,000 cases.”

Sending letters of recommendation to reopen the case and to end the deportation order is something we feel may greatly assist our efforts.  We have already asked some powerful people to write and send letters out, but I feel that letters from all the people who are supporting him in the cause to FREE KAMI is just as important and beneficial. We are urgently asking anyone who pleases to write a letter.  Write a letter about how you know Kami, what he has done and plead with them to end his deportation.  So far, nothing seems to be enough; maybe with outside pressure on them, it will be.  If you would like to assist,  include his full name: Kambiz Barzini and alien number 96098731.  Here is the address:
