What’s your favorite holiday movie?

Winter Wonders just started yesterday here in Brussels. Today I walked around and tried to capture some first impressions. this is a remarkable ‘toy’. Very arty and surreal as everything Belgian tents to be. Viewable until the 3rd January 2010. The event takes place at the Grand Place in Brussels and around the Bourse, the Place Sainte-Catherine and the Marché aux Poissons.

Who’s the hardest person to shop for on your holiday list?

This is the final update about the new donut shaped pendants I am making.

I found the perfect sterling silver bails. They are minimalist and modern without any decorations or Schnickschnack (German for ‘knickknack’). They mirror the silver inclusions in color without overwhelming anything about the glass design, I think.
Yet, at the same time, they are sturdy and I don’t have to worry about not being able to use larger diameter cords or chains.

Now Christmas is coming up and I did need something for my mom. I’m not going to see her this year for the holidays as I usually do, so I needed something I could send her in the mail to Germany.
She is very religious and always wanted something with a cross but she isn’t into bright popping colors and a lot of Schnickschnack (there it is again). She has a couple of stone donuts already, so I knew she likes the shape. I tried to stay on the muted color side with the design I came up with. I’m going to send her both because I really don’t know about the colors and now I can only hope she likes them.

Kristen Stewart und Robert Pattinson feiern Weihnachten also zusammen. Das bringt die Gerüchteküche natürlich wieder ordentlich zum brodeln. Die beiden sollen angeblich nun doch ein Paar sein. Die Eltern von Robert Pattinson waren begeistert von Kristen und fanden das sie gut zu Robert passt und deshalb haben sie die Schauspielern auch gleich zu Weihnachten eingeladen. Pattinson hat auch angeblich seine Mutter damit beauftragt eine Ferienhütte zu suchen ,  wo die beiden Stars ein paar Tage gemeinsam verbringen können. Wie sich die Beziehung weiter entwickeln wird werden wir sehen. Vielleicht kann man sogar mit einer Hochzeit rechnen. Aber genug spekuliert. Die Zukunft weis schließlich mehr.

Schon seit dem Spätsommer kündigen es die ersten Lebkuchenstapel in den Kaufhäusern an: Weihnachten naht.
Auch wir haben uns nun langsam auf Weihnachten eingestellt (rechtzeitig zum 1. Dezember reicht), das Geschäft dekoriert und uns für die schöne Adventszeit bis Weihnachten etwas einfallen lassen:

O sa stam in hotel Paris, ala cu turnul Eiffel si Arcul de Triumf in fata. Bineinteles ca o sa profit de faptul ca merg pt prima data in Vegas si o sa ma duc sa vad celebrul hotel Hard Rock Cafe , sa joc black jack in cat mai multe cazino-uri si sa fac shopping de Sarbatori. Dupa ce petrecem nici mai mult, nici mai putin de 6 zile, in Las Vegas, ne mutam fizionomiile catre Florida (Sarasota). Acolo mergem in vizita la tatal lui. In Florida o sa ma relaxez, promit ca nu fac nimic altceva decat sa stau si sa lenevesc la soare (cat o mai fi in Dec.). Din Sud Estul Americii de Nord (ce abrambureala…) zburam catre Pennsylvannia/Pittsburgh la frate-sau si mama-sa. Acolo, familion mare! Dintr-ala de vezi prin filme, cand se aduna toti de Craciun la masa si sunt vreo 25!!! Abia astept sa le facem cadouri nepoteilor Sam si Lilly. Sunt niste scumpi! Dupa nenumaratele cadouri,nopti nedormite si alte shopping-uri specifice sarbatoresti, ne intoarcem acasa, in Londra….

…eh toate cele prezentate se vor petrece intre 4 si 16 Decembrie…asa ca inchipuiti-va cu ce energie ma intorc eu acasa…?!? Cu nema! Apoi stau max o saptamana si vin in tara!!! Can’t wait to see my friends! Pupi u all.

Es beginnt die besinnliche Zeit des Jahres…. die Weihnachtszeit und hier im Sl finden eine Menge Hunts statt, so unter anderem die Christmas Hunt, an der ich teilnehme.

In meinem Shop steht direkt am Eingang ein Schild,  das auf die Hunt aufmerksam macht. An der gridweiten Hunt nehmen 200 Hersteller verschiedenster Gebiete teil.

Irgendwie kann ich Weihnachten nichts abgewinnen. In den letzten Jahren ist es immermehr zum Kommerz verfallen. Größer, Besser, Schneller, Moderner. Ich fange langsam an, Weihnachten zu hassen. Sagt auch der Weihnachtskalender.

The fact that turkey day is this Thursday & that Christmas is in a few weeks scares me. I felt that last year was the poorest x-mas ever, but maybe this one may take the cake. Yeech. The general consensus amongst most people will agree. Wandering around malls can be totally overwhelming & truthfully I’m not sure how i’m going to pull “holiday” out of a magic hat this year. Amidst ugly sweaters, reindeer socks & the dreaded $10 and under giftcard (on a side note…why people do this boggles the mind unless its coffee don’t bother) there lies Fred & Friends! Whenever it arrives at work, I can’t help but smile at the sheer amount of imagination! It’s always priced right & these new products are here just in time for holidays! My fave the measuring cups….

So, ya’ll know I just moved recently, and if ya’ll didn’t know that before you know it now, and in case you missed it:  HEY, 4-1-1, I just moved recently.

I hate moving, almost as much as… well, fuck truth be told, there is very little else that I hate more than the drama of moving all my shit from one place to another, especially when that place is considerably smaller than the place my shit used to occupy before I moved, but that is a blog for a different day…

In any event, I’m in my new shoe box, er, uh, home, and I’ve got boxes aplenty all over the place.  Right about now you are more than assuredly wondering WTF does this have to do with her Yorkie, to wit, I tell you to keep your knickers on I’m getting to it…

Anyone that knows my Yorkie, Teddy, otherwise also known as that god damned dog, CUJO, Napoleon (little man with great, big fucking attitude), or my favorite, which he actually will answer to, for fuck sake Teddy… so now you have an idea of my baby’s back story in terms of relevant monikers.  Now, anyone who knows him, knows that Teddy is the doggie personification of a Hoover vacuum cleaner, and has absolutely no compunction about putting anything in his mouth and attempting to eat it.  I was never able to break him of this habit and god knows I tried after he ate a particularly fetching pair of Ferragamo mules when he was an itty, bitty baby… OMG, I so cried those were great mules…

So, I’m unpacking assorted boxes in my living room recently and I’m all caught up in the latest and greatest on my iPod so I’m not really paying too much attention to what is going on around me, well imagine my surprise when I hear my parrot start to go apoplectic (again a blog for another day, because Tikki is also a character in his own right)… anyway, I look over at the boxes that are scattered all over the floor and I don’t see anything particularly out of the ordinary and I almost have the quintessential TIKKI SHUT THE FUCK UP out of my mouth when I see one of the boxes move… hmmm… that cannot be good, especially since it’s marked X-MAS ORNAMENTS…

So, I get up walk over to the box, which if you will recall I now live in a shoe box, so it’s a pretty short fucking walk by all respects, and I look in, and who do I see happily munchin’ away at assorted X-mas ornaments, tinsel, and other shit, ah, if you guessed Teddy, you would be right… after I finish havin’ what has to be the umpteenth stroke of that particular day, and scoot him outta the box, get rid of the remains and proceed to scold him, to which he responds to by trying to bark at me louder than I’m yellin’ at him… go figure… bah, the point of this story is that I swear that one day that dog is gonna poop a X-mas ornament and I’m going to have to try and explain to what will undoubtedly be the Seven For All Man Kind Model who is temping as an emergency room vet HOTTIE Doctor, why exactly my Yorkie pooped a X-mas ornament…

My first experimental donuts just came out of the kiln and I am quiet happy the way it worked out.

Since Christmas is not very far away, I thought I should share the x-mas donut with the mistletoe fine silver inlay with you. The whole time I’m writing this, I’m whistling “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow… lalala” but I’m thinking that my tires on my car are frightful, so please don’t =)

Just for now I put on a leather cord but I am planing on either getting or making a silver bail for the donuts. The glass looks really nice but there simply is nothing better looking than a nice quality silver bail with art glass.

I will update you on the other ones as soon as things have moved along a little further.
