Sistem kelulusan melalui UN (Ujian Nasional) yang selama ini diberlakukan memang masih menyisakan problem. Dari yang sangat tidak setuju hingga yang sangat mendukung. Yang tidak setuju tentu sangat keras suaranya. Baca Lengkap?
Sekarang? dibuat lebih kaget lagi. Betapa tidak? Beberapa hari terakhir dunia pendidikan dasar dan menengah dikejutkan dengan munculnya PP 75 2009 tentang pelaksanaan UN untuk SMP/MTS dan SMA/MA yang semula planning-nya akhir April 2010, dimajukan pada bulan Maret 2010.
Tahun ini UN dilaksanakan dua kali. Yang pertama namanya UN UTAMA dan yang kedua diberi nama UN ULANGAN . Sedangakan siswa yang berhalangan, sakit misalnya pada pelaksanaan UN Utama, dapat mengikuti UN Susulan.
PP 75 2009 ini ditandatangani oleh Bapak Bambang Sudibyo, Mendiknas yang lama. Kabarnya, beliau menandatanganinya seminggu sebelum diganti.
Berikut kutipan pasal-pasal dari PP 75 2009 yang memuat hal-hal tersebut di atas.

Pasal 5
(1) UN Tahun Pelajaran 2009/2010 dilaksanakan dua kali yaitu UN utama dan UN ulangan.
(2) UN utama untuk SMA/MA, SMALB, dan SMK dilaksanakan pada minggu ketiga Maret 2010.
(3) UN utama untuk SMP/MTs dan SMPLB dilaksanakan satu kali pada minggu
keempat Maret 2010.
(4) UN susulan dilaksanakan satu minggu setelah UN utama.
(5) Ujian praktik kejuruan untuk SMK dilaksanakan sebelum UN utama.

Pasal 6
(1) UN Ulangan untuk SMA/MA, SMALB, dan SMK dilaksanakan minggu kedua Mei 2010.
(2) UN Ulangan untuk SMP/MTs dan SMPLB dilaksanakan minggu ketiga Mei
2010.

Pasal 7
Mata pelajaran yang diujikan pada UN:
(1) Mata Pelajaran UN SMA/MA Program IPA, meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Fisika, Kimia, dan Biologi;
(2) Mata Pelajaran UN SMA/MA Program IPS, meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Ekonomi, Sosiologi, dan Geografi;
(3) Mata Pelajaran UN SMA/MA Program Bahasa, meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Bahasa Asing lain yang diambil, Sejarah Budaya/Antropologi, dan Sastra Indonesia;
(4) Mata Pelajaran UN MA Program Keagamaan, meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, Tafsir, Hadis, dan Fikih;
(5) Mata Pelajaran UN SMK meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris,
Matematika, dan Teori Kejuruan;
(6) Mata Pelajaran UN SMALB meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, dan Matematika; dan
(7) Mata Pelajaran UN SMP/MTs, dan SMPLB meliputi: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Inggris, Matematika, dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA).

Kondisi ini tentu saja membuat para guru yang mengajar di kelas 9 untuk SMP/MTs dan kelas XII untuk SMA/MA kalang kabut. Bagaimana mereka harus menyelesaikan materi pelajaran sesuai tuntutan SKL. Hanya dua bulan waktu yang dimiliki setelah usainya program semester Ganjil. Protespun bermunculan di mana-mana. Akankah protes itu di dengar? Wallahu a’lam.

Keith Toston dives into the end zone to put Oklahoma State up 34-0 in the fourth quarter against Baylor.

At 7 p.m. I left for Tulsa. Didn’t sleep. At 3 a.m. I departed with Matt Johnson and his family for Waco, Texas. Arrived at the stadium. Covered the game. Left for Tulsa again. Got back in Stillwater before midnight.

While I didn’t get to enjoy Waco, I did have a good trip. The Johnson family was great. The game went great. And the ride wasn’t too bad.

Zac Robinson continues to look better with each game. I never thought I would say this, but I think losing Dez Bryant was a good thing. It’s forced Zac to read the field more and he’s handled it impressively. Saturday, he broke a school record (previously held by Gundy) for passing efficiency, completing 85% of his passes.

I do hope we have Dez back for the Texas game though…

Oklahoma State fan Matt Fletcher grips the megaphone he has had since his freshman year.

The first thing that stuck out to me about Matt was how normal he was.

Going into a project about a guy who is in his sixth year at OSU and is still dedicated to painting himself for every home football and basketball game, I expected something else.

Even his fiancée admits that it took her a while to warm up to him.

But when you get past the orange grease-based exterior, you find a guy who cares deeply for his university, its athletic programs and most importantly, the people who surround him.

This weekend I enjoyed a three-day trip to College Station – home of the Fightin’ Texas A&M Aggies.

Other than having a rich football history, A&M is known for holding an impressive number of traditions. And boy, do they take tradition seriously.

The Friday night before the game, I attended their Midnight Yell Practice. Which is essentially just a cheer practice for their fans, who need no practice.

I was told about 20,000 fans show up for this. Of course, I stood in the middle with the O’Colly sports writers. We stuck out for a few reasons.

We didn’t wear maroon. We didn’t chant and sway. We didn’t have older guys yelling at us to get on our faces (pushups). We weren’t drunk. And most importantly, we didn’t have buzz cuts.

The entire event was a big creepy. I got the feeling I was an outsider in the middle of a cult. But their chants were cool.

Oh yeah, and there was a game the next day.

Sailing across the sea I notice a spec in the water. So small and tiny the spec simply floats. I can’t even make it out on what it should be or even what it might have been. Questions pop into my head, none that I can answer, but questions that I certainly cannot answer.

Questions comparing the human race to that spec in the ocean, more specifically myself, which in comparison I am comparing myself to a spec within a spec within a giant ocean. Thinking about it makes me seem so small and insignificant, extremely small, but more insignificant. The thoughts of me being small do not rein that heavy because I can see myself and my body looks huge, at least a lot bigger than that spec. I hate looking at small things at getting large thoughts. That is the reason why I hardly ever look up at the sky. Maybe if I didn’t throw up over the side I wouldn’t have been forced to look over. The thing with questions that don’t have any real answers, they usually end in more questions. Combustions of questions arise from a single non linear pile of questions only to be answered with more questions.

Answering a question with a question is a tricky thing as well, I am not sure if that counts as more on the questions side of the answer side. Nevertheless I get tired of thinking about this stuff. It hurts my head to the point of me throwing up. If I didn’t look at the floor panel and think of the journey it took to get here and how that is kind of like life, I would have never thrown up over the boat. I’m just going to go to my room and watch TV that stops the bad thoughts from flowing.

She walks across the street. My eyes stare at her intensely, and I feel strange about it, now I have a glimpse of the mind a stalker except not dangerous or creepy, maybe a little creepy. Who can blame me, she’s beautiful. She wears a sky blue dress bluer than the sky itself, black heels, and a figure that turns my head three times around. She only knows that the light turned green and that a red car is honking at her to cross faster…maybe slower, I would honk for her to cross slower. I only wished I prepared better.

Today I darted out of the house barely wearing my shoes. My shirt completely wrinkled and missing a button I briskly walk down the street. I felt that a missing button would not matter much to anyone; it is common knowledge that beautiful girls do not like missing buttons. Half way down the street I acknowledge a mustard stain, nobody likes a mustard stain, nobody. In the fourth grade I went to school with a mustard stain on my uniform shirt, none of the kids talked to me that day. She’s too beautiful and the kids in my class were not nearly as good looking as she is. How was I going to talk to her with a mustard stain on my shirt? Then I thought about it, one in a million. Those were my odds; I did the math in my head. If I didn’t talk to her my odds stood at zero, so compared to zero one in a million seems great.

The cars zoom by me and I rush across the street. Almost getting hit by a Hummer, a Prius, and a Smartcar, I barely get across the street. I slip on the curb right in front of her, eating the sidewalk and clearly showing I am not a smooth operator. She kindly stops in front of me and steps over. I appreciate that she didn’t step on me, a true lady. As she walks away I shout, “thanks.” She turns around and gives a grin; this is my chance I thought, “Hey you want to get some coffee?” To my surprise she stops and looks at me for a bit, considering the offer and looks at her watch, shakes her head and shrugs her shoulders then she continues to walk. I am not sure what that meant, she probably didn’t have enough time, but at least she will remember me or have a story to tell her friends. Good thing she said no to the coffee, I only had enough for me.

So I managed to get in a few hours of practicing, despite the fact that I thought I’d be too busy to do so. I guess that’s why it’s ten from 1AM and I’m still in the music building. I got here at nine and practiced long tones first, with a strobe tuner. I hadn’t started doing long tone exercises until about a week ago, and I’ve already noticed a difference in my playing. It feels like they’re training my diaphragm to react properly more than anything. Afterward, my tone is much more even and the notes all have the same quality rather than having some of them stick out.

Then I practiced whole tone scales. I mostly just did C and F and got them under my fingers solidly. And followed that with some of the Oubradous exercises from volume one. I did the ones in C. I like the Oubradous stuff because its so basic but so crucial to playing well. It relaxes me and helps with intonation and just makes sure that your fingers are exactly coordinated in order to play them properly. 

After that, I went back to the Adler Canto XII. I hadn’t been practicing with a metronome lately, and it showed big time. So I had to do some back tracking. I played the first movement through once at the given tempo of quarter note = 58, only I put the eighth note on the metronome. Then I went back to the beginning and played it through again, only I stopped and worked on any sections that were weak technically, intonation-wise, rhythmically, dynamically, etc. until it all sounded much smoother and better. Then I did the same thing with the second movement, initially at eighth note = 120 then amping it up 126. I tried to keep it really slow because the movement should eventually be something like quarter note at 126. I really am just trying to get it totally comfortable at a slow speed first that way making it faster will be easy and everything will sound even.

I finished it off with running through the Hindemith’s first three sections. I listened to a recording of it earlier to get a better idea of the piece’s overall effect. I’ve never played it before, so it was nice to do some sight reading of a nice piece like that. 

I grabbed some other pieces from the library to go over as well: Tansman “Sonatine” and “Suite,”  Pierne “Solo de Concert,” Dutilleux “Sarabande et Cortege,” Bozza “Recit, Sicillienne et rondo,” and a book on bassoon playing called “Bassoon” by William Waterhouse. The book looks like at the very least I’ll get a small history lesson of bassooning out of it.

Plus, tomorrow I only have one class, so hopefully I’ll be able to have multiple short practice sessions rather than having to have an epically long late night session!

I never felt the cold like today. Usually my body stays snuggled in a warm blanket and on top of a comfortable mattress, I miss that. Sitting on this bench I think about my plan to take action. Strangely my thoughts stop at “it’s so cold.” Closing my eyes I imagine the hot sun shining beams of rays on my face. It feels great, all the memories of good times pour in again.

My stove sits in my kitchen, only able to light one flame out of the four; I smile at the goofy green color as I walk to my room. A thin piece of drywall separates the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and my neighbors. At night I lay in bed and I listen to the water running through the pipes or the rats crawling through the walls, the temptation to punch through the wall and grab one constantly sits on my mind. Slowly I drift to bed, the temperature dropping and me thinking that the cold reached its limit. Surprise, surprise, walls prevent the cold and all sorts of things I never thought of from interrupting my sleep. Things like other people trying to pee on me or dogs bighting at my crotch. I miss my walls.

Losing my job and putting everything on my credit cards seemed like a good idea in order to hold me over until I found a new job. Surprising new jobs do not fall out of the sky, but guess what does? Bird shit and it covers my left shoe. I hate homelessness and I better find a way to come out of it, maybe playing the lottery or robbing someone will put me back on track. I should rob someone playing the lottery that way I can get a ticket and cash, but if I win I will share my winnings, see I know how to keep my integrity, it’s so cold.

Inspirasi kisah ini didapat ketika pengarang mininovel dan ‘bintang’ saling melekatkan hati satu sama lain.

Kisah ini berawal ketika Rasyid sedang menikmati libur kenaikan kelas XII di Banjarmasin.Suatu malam, Rasyid diserang oleh intensitas kebosanan dengan tingkat permeabilitas yang tinggi, sehingga menyebabkan diafragma menjadi kembang-kempis.Karena kebosanan itu, Rasyid akhirnya mengambil Sony Ericsson k750i dan mulai menekan tombol keypad bawah untuk melihat contact number yang bisa dihubungi atau di ajak nge-SMS.Ketika sudah mencapai huruf P, ada satu teman perempuan yang memancarkan gelombang selaras hati.Rasyid langsung tertuju pada orang yang baik hati, selalu ceria, smart, supel, dan tidak matre tersebut (sebut saja mo ghrá, irlandia language).Sesaat, medan kebosanan lenyap seketika di benak Rasyid.Tanpa memperbesar frekuensi daya pikir, Rasyid langsung menekan ‘send a message’ dan mengetikkan pesan yang seadanya namun menarik.Ternyata, tak terasa waktu menelan kami ke dalam hubungan pertemanan yang lebih konstruktif, walaupun hanya melalui pesan-pesan singkat via elektronik dengan bantuan si kecil foton kepunyaan gelombang elektromagnetik.Rasyid selalu tersenyum jika ada pesan balasan dari mo ghrá yang menyanjung hati.Tak terasa, proses balas-membalas SMS berlangsung hingga pukul 02.00 WITA.Karena si mo ghrá sudah mengantuk, Rasyid langsung mempersilakan si mo ghrá tidur, karena tak ingin mengganggu waktu istirahatnya.Nah, hanya Rasyid yang saat itu tidak bisa tidur, mengapa ? Terlintas di benak Rasyid untuk membelikan cindera mata kepada mo ghrá.Rasyid langsung mengirim SMS kepada mo ghrá dan menanyakan ‘minta dibelikan apa?’.’Up to You’ itulah jawaban dari mo ghrá yang singkat, padat, dan jelas.Rasyid kemudian memikirkan buku apa yang disukai mo ghrá.Terlintas di benak, ide Rasyid muncul dari hati ke pusat syaraf ketika Rasyid mengingat bahwa mo ghrá adalah Juara 2 Olimpiade Biologi Tingkat Kota Palangkaraya.Rasyid berkeliling gramedia dengan semangat layaknya gelombang berjalan tanpa batas, mencari buku yang beraroma biologi, dan akhirnya berhasil didapatkan.Kemudian, sebagai pelengkap bacaan, Rasyid membelikan mo ghrá buku berbau PSIKOLOGI TERAPAN dan HUMOR.Menurut Rasyid, sudah cukup untuk membuat gembira si mo ghrá.Karena malam sudah semakin menepi dan mengingat besok akan pulang balik ke Kota Palangkaraya, Rasyid pulang dengan harapan besar di hati.Keesokan harinya, Rasyid berangkat pulang ke Kota Palangkaraya.Tibalah Rasyid di Kota Palangkaraya cantik tercinta.3 hari setelah itu, akhirnya KBM (Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar) di sekolah mulai aktif namun belum efektif.Benak Rasyid hanya mengingat ‘harus memberikan cindera mata ini kepada si mo ghrá’.Hari itu adalah Hari Sabtu, di mana Rasyid memberikan oleh-oleh kepada mo ghrá.Saat memberikan cindera mata itu kepada si mo ghrá, hati serasa berada di Puncak Everest, beauty moment.Dari kisah panjang itulah Rasyid akhirnya mengakui dalam hati, bahwa fase difraksi hati terjadi pada dirinya, bermula dari pertemanan hingga berkembang menjadi kasih sayang.Waktu kian manata jalannya, hingga akhirnya Rasyid mengatakan sesungguhnya kepada mo ghrá bahwa dia menyukai dirinya, bahkan lebih dari itu.Dan tak disangka lagi, ternyata si mo ghrá  juga sebenarnya lebih dulu menyukai dan menyayangi Rasyid.Ingin rasanya Rasyid tertawa sambil kegirangan.Fase kedua pun terjadi, interferensi hati 2 gelombang terpadu di satu celah.10 September 2009, itulah hari yang membahagiakan bagi Rasyid.Tanggal kebahagiaan itu pun di tuliskan Rasyid di papan tulis nun kecil yang ada di kamarnya dengan dimeriahkankan simbol senyum.Saat itu masih awal Bulan Puasa Ramadhan, Rasyid pun mengajak mo ghrá untuk pergi ke ‘pasar wadai’ di dekat SMAN 1 Palangkaraya.Rasyid selalu bahagia melihat senyumannya, itu pula harapan Rasyid terhadap mo ghrá.Berbuka puasa bersama di Rumah Makan Borobudur di jalan Kutilang semakin mempererat keharmonisan Rasyid dan mo ghrá.Rasyid ternyata telah menemukan perempuan yang signifikan baginya, si mo ghrá ini sifatnya tidak ‘makan duit’, saling berbagi ilmu, perhatian, mengingatkan untuk sholat, dan semua hal kebaikannya.Rasyid memberikan semaksimal mungkin yang terbaik untuk mo ghrá, dan  semenjak itu Rasyid berevolusi menjadi seorang lelaki monokromatis.Berhubung studio 21 telah hadir di Kota Palangkaraya tercinta ini, Rasyid mengajak mo ghrá untuk menonton film favorit mereka berdua yaitu ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ seri ke-6 dari 7.Hari itu adalah tanggal 29 September 2009.Tak disangka, ternyata mo ghrá sudah membelikan tiket untuk Rasyid.Mo ghrá terlalu baik bagi Rasyid.Rasyid hanya bisa berpikir untuk tidak dianggap sebagai lelaki ‘pemakan uang’ dan harus bisa memberi kontribusi perhatian yang terbaik.Namun, mo ghrá akan menolak jika Rasyid yang membiayai segala hal yang berhubungan dengan pengeluaran uang.Rasyid menganggap perempuan sebaik dan perhatian seperti mo ghrá adalah perempuan endemis yang sudah lama mengisi kekosongan.Mo ghrá hanya berharap dari Rasyid untuk tidak mudah berpaling dari nya, sekaligus membantu mo ghrá untuk memahami pelajaran matematika jika mo ghrá merasa kebingungan, sedikit menggelitik di benak Rasyid.Tugas yang tidak mudah bagi Rasyid, belajar untuk bertanggung jawab, apalagi mo ghrá adalah perempuan yang benar-benar diharapkannya.Semua proses fisis terjadi dengan mudahnya antara Rasyid dan mo ghrá.Kehadirannya kian membesarkan sudut deviasi yang dulu hanya sebesar sudut lancip pada sebuah segitiga tumpul.Pancaran cahaya Rasyid berpadu dengan pancaran cahaya mo ghrá.Ketika mo ghrá menuju titik balik vertikal, Rasyid harus berada disana sebelumnya.Ketika mo ghrá menuju titik balik horizontal, Rasyid harus berada di sana sebelumnya.Mo ghrá is a fluorescent for Rasyid.

The invention of soap must have been a great day for the human race. Imagining a world without soap is horrifying and gross. Soap cleans so many things that it should be considered magical. If your hands touch dirt, use soap, if your hands touch poop, use soap, even if your hands touch fire, soap is used. Once I used a restroom that lacked soap. It was terrifying, how was I going to interact with the rest of the world without my disinfectant? Never again do I ever want to be in that situation.

It started out with me having to use the restroom, a common courtesy I take part of daily. I should have been more selective of my restrooms. Honestly I probably should have not passed up the McDonalds restroom and waited, but I did not want to be tempted by their delicious McRib sandwich. It is delicious, but I can only take diarrhea a few times a year. Walking into the gas station restroom I could tell something was off, it appeared cleaned. Strange enough I put the butt guard on the toilet seat and awkwardly continued to do my business. It felt strange not seeing writing or puddles of water in a gas station restroom, kind of like I was on a hidden camera show. Once I got up to pull up my pants I walked to the faucet and realized the soap dispenser was empty.

Now I know why it appeared cleaned, all the germs were invisible. Crawling all over me, on my face, walking into my mouth, down my esophagus, through my stomach, and out my butt, the germs, they were everywhere. I washed my hands in boiling hot water, but it did not help. My tears brought little comfort and even less cleanliness. Finally I walked out of the restroom, ashamed and embarrassed. Slowly stumbled over to the counter of the gas station informed him of the lack of soap and bought some hand sanitizer for fifteen bucks. It was a well spent fifteen, life seemed livable again.

Mr. Jones never said much. He just grunted a lot. Strange, for a man that speaks so little to begin with to decide on grunts as a form of communication. The people around him get him, so I guess that is all that really matters. His wife and kids understand what he wants and needs through his different grunts. I swear I have only heard about ten words come out of his mouth and not all of them were consecutive or always made sense. A woman one time walked by Jones and I, after viewing her from all angles we looked at each other and he looked me straight in the eyes and said “bubblegum.”

“Bubblegum” that is all he said. No explanation to what that means or what he was trying to get at, just “bubblegum.” I am pretty sure that the expression of “bubblegum” was not widely used while he was growing up, my father never mentioned to me of the word “bubblegum” and pretty women being used as a sexual description. Jones spoke in a manner that few people understood, but if you did understand him, you understood wisdom.

Every grunt and mumble meant something. In this world few things mean nothing and even fewer things mean something worth remembering. One cloudy day, my first girlfriend, real girlfriend, not just some girl I made out with during a movie, but a girl I bought popcorn for and watched the entire movie with, including laughter and simple holding, she broke up with me. I panicked, became emotional and completely irate. In my passion I lapped the town at least four times in both directions. Finally about dawn Mr. Jones stopped me with a cigarette in his mouth. He grunted a bit and then made a signal for a light. I brought out my matches and lit his cigarette. In a puff of smoke he said “hmmmm mmmmm grmm grmm grmm women.” That right there opened my eyes. Through his puff of smoke and words, grunts of wisdom, I understood that life blows up in people’s faces at times and not everything holds a distinct place, women are not exemptions to this either. Good wise Mr. Jones man of few words, but many grunts, if only everybody spoke so clearly.

• Seorang pembuat paku membuat jenis paku dari bahan yang tersedia yaitu 5,5 kg bahan A dan 2 kg bahan B.Paku jenis I tiap buah memerlukan 200 gram bahan A dan 75 gram bahan B, sedangkan paku jenis II tiap buah memerlukan 150 gram bahan jenis A dan dan 50 gram bahan jenis B.Jika pengusaha menjual paku I dengan harga Rp 500,00 dan paku II dengan harga Rp 350,00 maka hitunglah berapa buah paku I dan paku II yang harus dibuat agar penghasilan pengusaha maksimum ?
