La Fantasía Final de Square Enix esta a punto de llegar a los aparadores japoneses, 17 de Diciembre para ser mas exactos, y todo mundo esta con grandes expectativas sobre el juego, el primer juego de la serie que llega a esta generación hoy se ha lanzado el ultimo trailer del juego, para su versión japonesa en el cual podemos ver a nuevos personajes, nuevos summons y posiblemente nuevos enemigos; además de una mayor interacción entre todos los personajes y mas del gameplay. El trailer solo puede hacernos decir WOW, se ven geniales los cinemas y el video in-game no se queda a tras, todo se ve bastante fluido, pero de este lado del charco tendremos que esperar la llegada de Ligthening, Snow y Hope para conocer este nuevo universo de esta Fabulla Nova.

Just a short time ago, a countdown on Final Fantasy XIII’s official Japanese website completed and a brand new trailer was released. This trailer features never before seen footage including new character, Vanille’s summon and a ton of new scenes.

So if you have been paying attention to whats been going on with Final Fantasy XIII (which happens to look like one piece of sexy), you may have heard that their theme song is actually going to be the song “My Hands” by Leona Lewis. And yes, I’m sure that there are some people out there who are very surprised.
From what I have noticed, several people have had the reaction “OMG NO WAAAAIIIII!!?!?11/111///”. And yes, I think I do understand part of this reaction. I do find it a bit awkward how the American version of FFXIII was going to have a big pop artist sing this song. However, I swear, what bothered me the most was that it didn’t even seem to be about the song itself.
It seemed people were into “auto HAET and RAEG mode about Square Enix’s choice because it was actually a western pop artist, not a jpop artist.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I really get annoyed when it’s like this. Why is it that suddenly anything popular here suddenly sucks to the rest of the internet and the world? Sometimes, it feels like people automatically hate anything labeled with the word “popular” on it. Yes, I’ll admit I am a bit hypocritical about what I’m posting right now, but lets just call this a free write, got it?
Actually, I just realized there just seems to be a lot of hate going on everywhere about music. The US hates a whole bunch of the popular music here, either because it “sucks”, or it’s popular, or that it actually DOES suck (very rare case). And then we also end up hating the Jpop and Kpop world. And this kind of dislike, I can sort of understand, because a lot of singers in Asia have very questionable skills (then again, it’s like that here in the US, but it’s a different story). But I think a lot of that hate also comes from all the raging fan girls, freaks, and people that make Japan and Korea look like a land full of losers going “OMG, KAWAII DESU NE~~~ and SARANGHAE!~~~”.

GAH, I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE I’M GOING WITH THIS POST ANYMORE.

So lets just make life easier, and make a short review on the theme song!

When I first listened to My Hands, I automatically fell in love with the song, and that love is still growing. Leona Lewis has a somewhat distinctive voice that also has that “power” to it to allow her to sing power ballads, just like the one right here. However, the one issue I only really have with this song involves the first verse. Actually, I’m kinda at a lost to this. On one side, I LOVE the raspiness of her voice and the sudden entrance of the chorus. On the other side, I also dislike those things. So I don’t know, you decide whether you like it or not. However, after the first chorus, the song definitely gets much smoother and much more consistent. I can’t over how much I love the chorus of the song. It’s very gospel-like and inspirational, especially with all those beats in the background that sound like a huge congregation clapping together. Leona gives a very strong and convincing vocal performance. The song may be a tad cliché and typical, but what isn’t nowadays? My Hands is still quite a piece of work.
I’m sure that a lot of you are thinking “This can’t be a Final Fantasy theme song!” However, I think you really need to give the song a chance. Listen to it a few more times, and pay attention to the lyrics. In a way, it sounds like they’re actually narrating Lightinings life. In addition to that, the most I listen to it, the more I can easily imagine it working with FFXIII. Besides, no one can really make a good judgment until we actually see the scene this song plays in.

Terminando el recorrido y aún con casi media pila desembarcamos y nos encaminamos junto con nuestra guía a la Plaza Mayor, una Plaza que tiene un encanto sin igual que atrapa la vista ya que parece salida de un cuento hadas, rodeada de pequeños locales y casitas que parecen de muñecas, aquí nuestra guía nos dió tiempo libre para comer, compar y admirar la ciudad. El edificio más impresionante de la Palza es el Campanario. En medio de la plaza se halla la estatua dedicada a los héroes locales. El campanario es el símbolo más popular de la ciudad, de estilo gótico, de los siglos XIII a XVI, con 83 metros de altura y se trata de una poderosa torre de más de 300 escalones. Este edificio Alberga un pequeño museo dedicado a la misma edifición y a su historia. Desde el campanario se puede gozar de una estupenda vista sobre la ciudad y su entorno y ya sabrán de muy buenas fotos panorámicas.

Asi es por fin dan fecha de lanzamiento  del esperado titulo de Final Fantasy XIII, que sera el 9 de marzo del 2010, la verdad si ansio tener en mis manos este juego ya que a pesar de que el XII no fue de mucho agrado para todos, y despues de ver la baja calidad por el port que se realizo para xbox 360, aun asi mantengo las esperanzas de que no decepcionara.

Perhaps the stigma associated with the number 13 stems from the suppression of the of the sacred feminine by the power hungry patriarchal church as there are thirteen moons in a year, the moon being a reflection of the female cycles and the Earth. The Gregorian calendar is mechanical and divorced from True Nature, the real calendar has thirteen months.

Today is a great day!  Many of you think it’s because you just finished Modern Warfare 2 or Dragon Age.  That’s not it.  It’s a great day because today, Square Enix announced that its long-anticipated initial installment into the HD era will begin March 9, 2010.  Some of you may mention Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant (TLR), or Star Ocean IV as SE games released for the Xbox 360.  I purport that 2/3 of those games listed above were developed by Tri-Ace and TLR, while fun, is a new Intellectual property and does not count.  Final Fantasy is a different world entirely.

The people over at Gamerfusion grabbed the announcement trailer.  For your viewing purposes, I have included it below.  Enjoy and marvel at the splendor of Final Fantasy XIII.  I know I did.

Square Enix have finally announced the North American and Europe release dates of Final Fantasy XIII. It shall be released on the 9th of March next year. It was announced via a video which I can’t seem to upload or embed so visit Kotaku for it.

They also announced that one of Leona Lewis’ songs will be the opening theme. The song is called My Hands and can be found here. Even though I’m going to miss my J-pop this isn’t the worst song they could have picked for the game.

It’s also been announced that Leona Lewis will be providing the theme song for the North American and European release of FFXIII. She will be singing a song called My Hands which will be on her upcoming second album Echo.

L’histoire relate les aventures de Train Heartnet, alias le Black Cat, ex-membre des Chronos Numbers, bras armé Numéro XIII de Chronos, organisation contrôlant le tiers de l’économie mondiale. Il manie à la perfection son révolver Hades, fait d’orichalque, matériau indestructible. Après avoir quitté les Chronos Numbers, Train s’est allié avec Sven Vollfied et est devenu un sweeper (un chasseur de primes).Ils rencontrent rapidement Rinslet (Rins), voleuse professionnelle, qui leur demande de l’aider vis à vis des recherches d’un parrain de la mafia sur une jeune fille et “arme biologique” créée par des nano-machines : Eve.

Black Cat est un shonen pur et dur mais c’est un genre que j’affectionne beaucoup. Pas besoin de trop réfléchir, il remplit parfaitement son rôle de libérateur. Il s’agit là de la critique du manga et pas de l’anime.

Bien évidemment, l’histoire n’a rien de philosophique ou de sérieuse mais ce n’est pas ce que je demandais à ce manga. Assez banale, il ne s’agit que d’une vengeance inavouée, sur fond d’humour et de sensibilité. Il est vrai que les bons sentiments naifs des personnages sont parfois risibles par le manque de bon sens. Je veux bien admettre le bien fondé de ces grands principes mais il y a des limites au ridicule. Pourtant, celà ne m’a choqué plus que ca car cette mentalité simpliste et bon enfant reflète le ton du manga. Il ne s’inscrit pas dans la lignée gore ou cruelle de certains mais plutôt dans l’optique d’un sauvetage des ames. On ne peut donc pas être surpris de ce point, même s’il fait doucement rire à certains moments. Ca ne brille pas pour son originalité scénaristique mais ca détend.

Le véritable attrait concerne les personnages qui sont multiples et souvent intéressants. Train n’est pas particulièrement bons mais son coté simple et joyeux rend le bonhomme sympathique. Sven est plus intéressant mais pas assez travaillé. Eve est tout mimi et elle cache un grand coeur derrière son noir passé et son coté froid. Une myriade de protagonistes viennent compléter cette joyeuse bande sans qu’ils soient tous bons. Rins ne présente que peu d’intéret, d’ailleurs, elle disparait assez vite. Le méchant est suffisamment dingue et charismatique pour équilibré avec les “gentils”. Malgré un état mental proche de la folie (voir complétement), son but n’est pas dénué de logique. Ca n’a rien avoir avec un pseudo envie de tout zigouiller pour le plaisir mais plutot avec une réalité que procure l’horreur de la guerre et du monde. Malheureusement, on apprend ses raisons tout à la fin.

Le dessin n’est pas mauvais sans être magnifique. Le mangaka s’est contenté d’un minimum de réaliste (sans compter les monstres) et d’un décor fourni comme il faut. En fait, il offre un style déjà vu pour ce genre mais sans innovation. Je pense que c’est plutot decla lassitude.

Plein de bons sentiments parfois niais, de l’action, pas mal de persos intéressants, Black Cat rempli amplement son role de divertissement et m’a fait passer un très bon moment. C’est un poil long pour pas grand chose, voilà juste mon vrai reproche. En même temps, je l’ai dévoré donc….

El Nashra

L’équipe nationale de Rugby à XIII (Rugby League) l’a emporté contre son homologue italien, résultat (86-0) lors du deuxième tour, comptant pour les qualifications: 1er groupe du Championnat d’Europe de Rugby.

Le match a eu lieu au Stade Olympique de Tripoli, en présence d’un millier de supporters.

L’équipe libanaise a fait preuve d’une remarquable endurance physique et d’un rapide échange de ballons. Elle a réussi à bluffer l’équipe italienne, surprenant la ligne de défense à plusieurs reprises.

C’était attendu quelque part, vu l’expérience considérable dont jouissent les joueurs libanais.

Par ailleurs, les joueurs italiens, avaient l’air confus. Ils étaient incapables de suivre le rythme de leurs rivaux, et n’ont par conséquent marqué aucun but.

Parmi les joueurs libanais les plus remarquables :
- Adnane Saleh, qui a marqué 4 essais,
- Rice Robinson : 3 buts,
et Georges Ndayra : 12 buts.
Saluant ses joueurs qui ont qui fait preuve d’une excellente performance, le coach de l’équipe, Johnny Elias, a promis que le match contre l’Écosse, dimanche prochain, constituera désormais le centre d’attention.

La mission libanaise quittera Beyrouth le jeudi 30 octobre pour jouer contre l’Écosse, à Glasgow, le 1er novembre prochain.

Entre el 19 y 22 de octubre asistí el XIII Encuentro de FELAFCS en La Habana.  Una gran oportunidad para aprender, conocer a académicos, saber de las tendencias en los estudios de comunicación y apoyar en la gestión de la Federación.

Para la Escuela de Comunicación Social de la UTPL, que represento, el espacio abierto por FELAFACS nos ha permito conocer oportunidades de formación, en el encuentro de Bogotá de 2006 iniciamos la relación con la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Luego hemos apoyado en los proyectos que se han trabajado, ahora nos disponemos a seguir compartiendo experiencias.

FELAFACS – 2009

Por petición expresa, en lugar de contar los últimos acontecimientos con la Rubia, hoy os voy a contar cosas que pasaron hace 20 años. Un flashback de esos que dicen (por más que ahora estén de moda los flashfordwar). Retrocedemos a los años de los pelos. A los años en los que empiezan a salir pelos en los lugares más insospechados del cuerpo: la adolescencia.

Me había cambiado la voz, salido pelos y crecido algo, pero poco: Esperaba el estirón ese que era inminente y que todavía sigo esperando. Pero pese a los cambios seguía sin ser popular. Y eso que ya no tenía botas ortopédicas, no por haber curado mis pies planos, sino por ser completamente inútiles, pero me habían puesto gafas, así que una cosa por otra. Ser el gordito con gafas de la clase no otorga muchos puntos de popularidad. Ni mucha atención de las chicas.

Ya hacía tiempo que le daba al bolígrafo bic cristal, que escribe normal, y hacía mis primeros intentos de relatos. Pero no los leía nadie. Todavía no tenía suficiente confianza en mi calidad artística. Todavía no los ha leído nadie, y no creo que lo haga ninguna persona nunca (a no ser que me haga super famoso como escritor y un hijo mío decida sacarlos a la luz cuando me muera, como textos inéditos, incluso con sus faltas de ortografía, para seguir chupando de la teta, el muy gandul).

Leía libros, pero también era aficionado a los tebeos. Por supuesto entre mis favoritos estaba Mortadelo y Filemón, Zipi y Zape, Super López, Asterix y Obelix, Lucky Luke, Spirou y Fantasio y, un poco, Tintín. Aunque de vez en cuando caían en mis manos tebeos de los de antes, El guerrero del antifaz o hazañas bélicas (que, por cierto, me incitó a saber sobre las segunda guerra mundial, otro de mis temas favoritos). En la biblioteca municipal descubrí el placer de leer cómic. Allí estaba la colección completa de Jeremiah, del belga Hermann, y aluciné en colores. No era un cómic para niños, pero yo ya no era un niño (era un señor bajito con voz grave). De Jeremiah pasé a XIII, de William Vance, otro belga.

Como todo hijo de vecino empecé a dibujar copiando. Copiando de lo que tenía más a mano, o sea, Mortadelo o Superlópez. Tenía ojo y tenía mano. Pero, sobre todo, no tenía ganas de salir a correr por ahí… lo que tiene las botas ortopédicas. Pero habiendo descubierto el cómic, prefería copiar dibujos de verdad a caricaturas. Todavía debe de estar rondando por ahí la carpeta con mis dibujos, convenientemente numerados… por si algún día se pueden vender.
Descubrí la Cuesta del Mollano y las revistas de cómics: Cimoc y Comix (poco después El Jueves y Vívora). Estamos hablando de revistas de los 80 que ya no se editaban, pero que en los puestos de libros viejos se vendían casi al peso. Todavía tengo una buena colección de ellas. Así que no es extraño que mis copias empezaran a ser de autores franceses, pero también de Españoles. Bernet, por ejemplo, y sus historias en blanco y negro, poniendo en dibujo los impresionantes guiones de Abuli. O Juan Gimenez, quizá uno de los mejores autores españoles, y su increíblemente realista As de picas (otra vez la segunda guerra mundial). Pero, sobre todo, descubrí a Milo Manara y a Horacio Altuna.

Hermann, Vance, Bernet, Gimenez… son dibujantes muy minuciosos, que hacen que cada viñeta sea una pequeña obra de arte. Altuna eleva esa minuciosidad a rango de locura. Cada viñeta tiene varios niveles de historia, llenas de gente, carteles, situaciones… leer un cómic de Altuna es pasarse horas mirando el segundo plano, descubriendo las otras historias que hay detrás de la historia principal.

Y de Manara… ah… de Manara aprendí a dibujar mujeres.

Durante esos años de la adolescencia pasé horas y horas dibujando. De las copias de los grandes del cómic pasé a las copias del natural… me hice mi archivador de fotografías, recortes de periódicos y revistas… cualquier cosa que me llamara la atención del mundo. Y los copiaba. Hice muchos dibujos. Y, claro, mis notas se resintieron. Mucho.

Había que buscar un camino en el que pudiera dibujar y pensé que la arquitectura podía ser ese camino. En tercero de bup me enteré de una prueba de aptitud que hacían en la escuela de arquitectura, una prueba no vinculante. Y allí fuimos, dos amigos y yo. Puedo afirmar con satisfacción que superé la prueba. Me dieron como muy apto para esa profesión y, lo que es mejor, saqué la mejor nota de los tres (mi instinto competitivo, qué le vamos a hacer). Así que el último año en el instituto cogí las optativas con las que pensé que me ayudarían a conseguir más nivel: ampliación de matemáticas (cuatro horas más a la semana), ampliación de dibujo técnico (otras cuatro horas más) y geología.

No pude entrar en arquitectura. Aún siendo muy apto, la nota media no me dio. Y me metí en informática. Mis otros amigos “arquitectos” son ahora un triste estadístico y un biólogo que no ejerce.

Y ninguno de los tres dibujamos ya.

Al parecer la compañia Square Enix nos ha traido el dia de hoy unas nuevas imagenes de Final Fantasy lo especial de esto es que por fin se ven en algunas imagenes la traduccion en ingles indicando que cada vez mas se acerca el lanzamiento de dicho titulo a america.

It is hard to see, but in the lower left hand corner of the first picture you can see a pretty clear shot of the dragon Bahamut. I would hate to say that this is obvious but for now it would seem that Fang is most definitely our 6th party member. How delightful. But no. Really. I’m excited.

Salah satu seri andalan Square-Enix yang rencananya akan dirilis pada 17 Desember 2009 di Jepang sudah meluncurkan trailernya, dalam 2 bahasa berbeda: Jepang dan Inggris.
