Jag har inte  försvunnit, jobbat i två dagar nu! Om exakt två veckor landar jag och Kristina i Dubai. Det här är inte bara en solsemester för mig utan det handlar om att jag kommer få träffa de perosner jag ser som mina allra bästa vänner också, de jag umgåtts med mest de senaste åren och ja, man skulle ju kunna säga att jag räknar varje dag tills dess.

För övrigt träffade jag på Sonia i morse, på Centralen, av en slump. Så kul!

I just watched the first episode of HBO’s new sitcom Bored To Death, starring with adorable Jason Schwartzman. He plays a writer/private detective. And his NYC apartment is so beautiful. (Anyone know what area of NY he lives in? Maybe Queens. I’m not sure.) Anyway, it’s gorgeous. I took a couple screencaps to show you.

I am just too busy to blog these days.  On the rare occasion that both kids are napping simultaneously or entertaining themselves quietly and I have nothing else to do, I sink into the couch and watch Giada at Home or just lie on the living room floor and stare at the ceiling.  We’re still running this garage door business, I start a class at TWU on the 31st, I’m working out regularly a few times per week, I go out solo once per week, Drew and I try to have a date night once per week, and these kids of mine just keep going and going and going.  Which I guess is what kids do, huh.  Anyway, then there is laundry and dishes and cooking and cleaning and bills, and I really should give myself a pedicure and maybe throw away that plastic bag full of giant maxi-pads* that I brought home from the hospital when I had O over six months ago, and I need to reorganize the kitchen cabinets and clean out the junk drawer and make doctor appointments and OH LOOK MORE LAUNDRY.

This blog has gone straight down the crapper, and while I hope to blog regularly again one day, right now I’m just too busy.  I do, however, manage to log on to Facebook approximately 255496377819554396 times per day.  I need an intervention.

*Have you ever SEEN one of those giant after-birth pads?  Show it to someone who has never had children and the look of horror that follows is priceless.**

**It is truly amazing that I have any friends left at all, with me flapping the Earth’s Biggest Maxi-Pad in the innocent faces of those who come over to hang out while laughing maniacally.

OK. So, I know the banner image above says “apartment living” but I’m technically not living in an apartment. Yet. Actually, I won’t be for a while.

In about a month, I’m moving back to a college dorm. I’m in my second year of Journalism at Holland College in beautiful Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. I’m currently working part-time at a convenience store in my old Nova Scotia hometown and blogging a lot and working on my music website, East Coast Overture.

A couple weeks ago, I spent a couple days in Charlottetown with my friend Jenn. The photo above is a shot I took at Brackley Beach. I truly love Charlottetown and can’t wait to make it my home.

Anyway, I’m living in a dorm this year but I’m getting an apartment with Jenn next Spring or Fall, depending on our summer plans. We’ll both be in school still and lacking in funds. I just wanted a blog to document our apartment hunt and, if everything goes well, our apartment decorating projects and adventures.

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

money money money. dollars, euros, roubles, ringgit, rupiah, to many it all means the same  – wealth, power. everyone goes ga ga over it. some back stab friends and family for the sake of money. some would even kill. imagine what else one would do just so they could get their hands on thick (or even thin) bundles of cash. my mom came home a few days ago and showed me the NEW RM50 note. and i was in aw. i didn’t know how to react. it seemed… CHEAP. almost without VALUE.

“macam duit getah je” i thought to myself.

the new RM50 note doesn’t look as ‘vibrant’ as the old one. and it feels thinner, as if i could just rip it apart (have yet to try) with ease. and as for now, still not user friendly. not widely accepted by cash deposits (a friend told me) or certain vending machines. let’s see in the next few weeks how things would turn out. let’s wait for newer faces to appear on different notes and how people would react to it. (^_^)

whew..it’s been almost a month since i posted anything… well.. kinda busy at home… more interesting things to do than when in Russia.. ^_^

when around family and friends, the internet doesn’t seem to be of great importance.. yeah~ nevertheless, i got myself a postpaid plan so i could still go online and keep in touch. and of course, BLOG.

landed an hour later than scheduled on july 4th at 3 pm, and made acquanitances with an Arab lady on transit in KL. Aliaa. she’s nice. snapped some pics, filled up the H1N1 form and went pass the H1N1 screening area and hurried to get my luggages. can’t wait to go home!! i could feel the heat wave hitting me right in the face when i stepped out of KLIA’s doors. boy, it sure was hot! then sampai2 terus lepak with kanak2 sampai the next morning, makan & karaoke.. hadoi! letih! then a couple of days later mummy n abah balik from umrah. ^_^

syoknye balik msia! dpt jumpe smua orang. balik kampung jumpe nek, jumpe akak2 and abang2 angkat, cousins..waaaaaaah!! rindu.. alang2 dah lalu nak gi umah nek tu, trus beli kain buat baju raya. tempah siap2..then dpt makan2..hehe…kok king jgn jeles! nanti kalau rajin i tapau balik russia utk u..haha.. KALAU rajin.. =p

tak cukup ngan tu, ade yang aku tak hingin jumpe, tak hingin ade kaitan tapi dia lak sibuk, tak habis2 terhegeh2 nak nyusahkan hidup akuh. blah bole tak? kalo dah salah tapi takleh accept defeat, memang susah. paranoid agaknye. mcm bagus sgt la muka ko yg memang tebal and bukan setakat talam 2 muka. skang baik la pulak ngan smua org yg ko kutuk dulu. ha bagus la tu. memang tak tau malu. hipokrit. dah. cukup. malas layan orang yg ade psychiatric problem. keturunan kot.

sambung lagi… mm… a few days lepas arrival, gi celebrate birthday angah… d whole family and akak and abang gak. makan2 and lepak karaoke lagi. best best. to someone and someone special tu, thanx for the belated birthday presents! mmmwacks!

BBQ,  shisha… sambil makan layan awards yg kat Indon tu.. thank god takde pape.. cuak gak bace hotel kat Jakarta kene bom! fuh..dah smua memang tak tido awal, blasah main game cam orang gila! WII. haha… syok siot! memang gelak manjang! haven’t had that much fun in years! and of course, gossip gossip.. aaahhh… this is life…3 days 2 nights memang tak ckup..hehe..

apart from that, ade byk wedding invitations. mane yang dapat, pegi la. one yang memang i really really loved and felt so glad to have attended was iza’s. she pesan since kat russia lagi suh datang dia nikah. i was like… hmm..maybe she meant suh dtg reception kot. but memang she wanted me to be there for the nikah ceremony. pretty pretty lady, good at heart..something hard to find nowadays. i can still feel how u squeezed my hand in delight while u try to stay still and let the mak andam do her thing. i know what that squeeze mean, dear. and i’m glad to be there for u too. i’m so happy for u girl! Irman, jaga Dr Iza leklok.. u are one lucky man!

malam tu plak, izma kidnapped me balik umah dia. was supposed to lepak at che teh’s house to attend iza’s reception the following day. but well…izma yang persistent tu plak takmo mengalah. so alrite. i put up a night at her place. happily engaged, she shared with me all the stories she’s been wanting to tell me. alasan kenapa she kidnapped me : “ala ieja…nanti pasni aku dah kawin, tak dpt dah lepak2 tido ngan ko..” haha! iye lah izma… =p

Apparently, Khuzaimah and I didn’t managed to watch DANCE SUBARU since tickets were sold out for the timing that we wanted. We were so devastated I swear! So we ended up watching Terminator Salvation which was actually a nice movie even though we were not an avid follower of the show itself. HAHA.

Well, seems like I have 2 project assignments to be done by the end of term breaks. One of which will be on the field trip (Singapore River Cruise) this Thursday with JIALE! Apparently, the second assignment came as a shock when Eunice asked me about it. After reading through what has to be done for the assignment, I dread doing it. Zzzzzz. Well, shall look at it again later.

I’m quite hungry now and I’m waiting patiently for Dad or Mom to come back home!

Also, I had a really funny conversation with Min San today. He was really trying to be funny. And seriously, I can’t wait to meet up with BFF for the class BBQ on 14th June. I really miss the time we had together in school. Not to forget, I miss 4E7 too. I love the class so much, I swear I rather go back to school just to sit in the classroom again! Haha, fun times!

Anyway, talking about how much I miss spending time in secondary school, I have to say, I really really really miss my long hair! Gosh, I shouldn’t have cut it. Even Nadhirah missed my hair! Please hair, grow fast =/

SAVE MONEY, MONEY SAVE!

So much has changed over the last year and a half: our move back to Texas, my return to stay-at-home-mommyhood, Drew making a major career change, and the birth of our second son.  We struggled, we celebrated successes big and small, we laughed, we cried, we fought, we kissed and made up, we got back on our feet.  Somehow, along the way, we managed to begin the process of buying a small business.  Drew’s boss, who ran a two-man-show garage repair gig, decided to pursue other options in his hometown of Somewhere, California, and he wanted us to take over the business for him.  Which we did.  LAST WEEK.  With pleasure!  Because what happens if you never take risks?  It’s scary, but we’ll never know if we don’t try.  It’s exciting and nerve-wracking and stressful and rewarding on so many different levels.  It took me this long to talk about it on The Internets because I certainly don’t want to jinx anything, if you believe in that sort of thing, and I’m not sure that I do but WHAT THE HELL BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.

This past week I have never been more tired or stressed, but I’ve also never been more excited or optimistic.  Taking care of the household and two small kids and running one end of the business is kicking my ass.  AND I LIKE IT.

Stay tuned!  Needless to say, that is what I have been up to.  BIIIZZZEEEEEEEE.  So, so very busy.  But I collapse in a heap on the floor each evening feeling very fulfilled and accomplished.  And that’s what it’s all about.  Wait, or is that the hokey pokey I’m thinking of?

Poor Ethan.  He insists on getting dressed BY HIMSELF each day, which is great, but then after several minutes he’ll come rushing to me with his t-shirt stuck around his face, declaring, “I CAN’T DOOOOO THIIIIIIS!”  Heh.  It is hilarious and heart-breaking.  Perhaps he has an abnormally large head.  Hmmm.

Can anyone tell me what the best tasting and least expensive brand of Greek yogurt is?  Because right now I’m buying Fage (LOVE!), but at $1.47 per single-serve cup, if I eat one every day that’s… that’s… WAY too much to be spending on yogurt every week.  It’s so CREAMY and delish.  If you haven’t tried Greek yogurt yet, I’m not quite sure what you’re waiting for.  Unless, of course, you don’t LIKE yogurt.  Just know that Greek yogurt isn’t like that nasty fat-free flavored goo that many people buy.  It is thick and creamy and rich, even the low and fat-free kinds.  AND, it’s higher in protein!  I’m not getting paid to pimp Greek yogurt, but I certainly should be.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the little things in life that I love, thanks to M.  I really love when paper bags fold flat effortlessly.  I, too, enjoy cleaning my ears with Q-tips, maybe a little too much.  I love folding warm laundry on a cold day (hey, I must be a stay-at-home-mom!).  Lastly, I really enjoy the sound of gravel crunching when you walk on it.  That is all for today.  Sadly, my list of HATES is very long, but that is probably because I have been parenting two small children mostly alone for several days now while D works like a madman.  Poor me, poor D.  Come on over for ONE BIG PITY PARTY!  I have wine!

YES!  COME OVER!  I need someone else to PLAY WITH!  All my Mom does is feed Ollie and fold laundry and sometimes she cries for no reason at all.
