Bhé provatelo anche voi no?

I’m on my idle office moments again, so I decided to clean up my yahoo mail. I was about to click “delete all” for my sent items when an e-mail of the same title caught my attention. I opened it and read it once again, I remember the first time I read it, I was on the verge of tears. This is not the first time that I saw myself or my situation somehow parallel to a story going around cyberspace but there is one paragraph here that made me realize that maybe I am my own version of Bea in my very own version of “Best Version of You”. So let me again, as always, post the article here to share it with you. I don’t know if this is a true to life story but I know it’s possible that someone out there has been or is currently in this situation, so here it is:

The Best Version of You
>
> Manila International Airport, 2:00 am. It’s
> been two years since she
> had last seen the Manila International Airport.
> Not much has changed.
> Her last memory of this airport was when Miguel
> dropped her off. She
> was on her way to New York to pursue a career
> in Wall Street.
>
> “Promise me something will you? Please don’t
> get married until I come
> back?” She jokingly told him as she lifted up
> her backpack.
>
> “LOL. Very funny. Ikaw ang mag-promise. Promise
> me you won’t run off
> with some nerdy economist in the next two
> years.”
>
> “Let’s see, shall we. Bye, Miguel. I’ll call
> you as soon I get to New York.”
>
> That was her last memory in this place. The
> warm Manila air made her
> feel a bit restless and yet she feels excited.
> This is the first time
> in two years she’ll be seeing Miguel again. She
> was thoughtfully going
> through the immigration counters, thinking of
> how much she missed
> seeing Miguel. How different would he be now?
> Sure he sends her
> regular weekly e-mails and pictures but being
> the busy person that she
> had always been, she didn’t get the time to
> chat with him and buy a
> webcam.
>
> She’s finally out. “Where is Miguel?” She
> wondered. “Ah there!” she
> exclaimed when she saw the silver gray Nissan
> Patrol parked near the
> exit. TGW926. Yup, that’s Miguel alright. Her
> heart was leaping ahead
> of her as the driver got off.
>
> “Hey! I missed you!” He said, as he hugged her.
>
> “I missed you too. So much.” She said, as she
> hugged him back. It was
> warm. It felt good to be back. It felt great to
> feel his hug.
>
> “Let me get those.” He said pointing at her
> luggage. “Then we’ll have
> more time for hugging and chika.”
>
> “Okay.”
>
> Edsa, 4:30 am. Miguel’s cellphone rings. Mama,
> the name flashes on the
> screen.
>
> “You should really get that.”
>
> “No, you should get that. She’s been waiting
> for you. She insist that
> we go straight to her after I pick you up form
> the airport. She also
> insist that you spend tomorrow with her.”
> Miguel was talking about her
> mother. Miguel was an only child and his mother
> wanted a daughter. She
> would often tell Bea that since she doesn’t
> have a mom anymore, she
> should let Tita Doris be her second mom. She
> loved Bea as if she were
> her own daughter.
>
> “Hello? Yes, Tita. How are you nap po?… ah
> opo. Miguel already told
> me. Sige po. Okay po. I’ll see you later.” She
> turns off the phone and
> looks out the window. The phone rings again,
> this time the name
> “Sugar” flashes on the screen. Hmmm, “Sugar.”
> He was quick. He got a
> hold of the phone and answered it. “Hello.
> Yeah. Pauwi na. I’m with
> her na. Yeah. Tomorrow, I will. Promise. We’ll
> see you tomorrow.”
>
> We? Is that supposed to mean me and him? See
> Sugar? Who is Sugar,
> anyway? “Who was that?” she couldn’t keep
> herself from asking. “Sugar
> ha?”
>
> “I’ll introduce her tomorrow. Uwi muna tayo sa
> bahay. By the way,
> kamusta na si Edward?” “Edward?”
>
> iniwan mo sa New York?
> Anong klase ka ba namang girlfriend? Kaya hindi
> kita niligawan eh.
> Baka makalimutan mo rin ako.”
>
> “Ah si Edward. Hayun. Nasa New York.” Miguel
> has met Edward when he
> came to New York to give Bea a surprise visit.
> He seems a nice guy.
> Not the geeky economist Miguel pictured Bea
> would end up with. He is
> actually a cool guy and loves Bea a lot.
>
> “He called me up, a week ago, asking a lot of
> things about you. Parang
> may balak ata…”
>
> “Balak na?”
>
> “Tell me, did he propose to you? He sounded
> like he was going to
> propose to you kasi.”
>
> “Ah look, here we are at Tita Doris.”
>
> At Tita Doris’, 4:45 am. A pleasantly plump
> woman enters the living
> room. She was in her mid-fifties, a familiar
> warm smile and two open
> arms. She welcomed Bea, gave her a big hug and
> kissed her on the
> cheek. “Hay anak, kamusta ka na? Na-miss na
> kita. Pinakain ka ba nito
> si Miguel?”
>
> “Opo, Tita.” She looked around. Not much has
> changed in this house.
> She remembers spending her college days in this
> house. She remembers
> sinking into Tita Doris’ arms when her mom
> died. She remembers only
> good things about this woman. She can’t
> remember a time when she had
> been unkind to her and yes, she loves her like
> her own mother.
>
> “Iha, sabihan mo nga yang si Miguel. Sabihin mo
> ‘wag padalos-dalos
> magdesisyon.”
>
> “Po?”
>
> “Mama naman. Let Bea rest. I’ll tell her
> everything tomorrow.” Miguel
> interrupted his mother before she can spill the
> beans.
>
> “Ha? What was that all about?” Bea was curious.
>
> “Bukas na lang.”
>
> “Okay. Tita, if it’s okay I’ll go rest now.”
> She hugged her, and
> proceeded to climb the stairs. Miguel followed
> her carrying her
> luggage.
>
> “Alam mo I missed this house. Uy sino ba si
> Sugar? Tsaka bakit parang
> worried nanay mo sa iyo?”
>
> “Bukas na. Sugar is having lunch here.”
>
> “Hmmm, intriguing, pero sige. Bukas na.” They
> were both standing as
> the door to the guest room. “Alam mo, it’s
> really good to be back in
> this house. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
>
> Tita Doris’ 10:00 am. She woke up, sunlight
> flooding her bedroom. She
> was able to rest. She got up, arranged the bed
> sheets and took a nice,
> cold shower. Minutes later, she was down at the
> garden having brunch
> with Tita Doris.
>
> “Hi! Tita. Where is Miguel?”
>
> “Sinundo si Sugar.”
>
> “Sino ba yang Sugar na yan? Nai-intriga na
> ako.”
> “Iha, I’ll let Miguel tell you who Sugar is.
> Promise me something,
> though. Whatever happens you’ll always be my
> daughter, Bea?”
>
> She felt scared. Why was Tita Doris suddenly
> serious? “Opo naman.”
>
> “Anyway, iha. I heard from Miguel your
> boyfriend sounded like he was
> going to propose a week ago. Did he propose?”
>
> Bea looked at her hands, bare of any engagement
> ring. She looked at
> Tita Doris and smiled. Before she could answer,
> Miguel showed up. With
> him is a woman she had not seen before. She was
> of medium frame,
> shoulder length hair and looked very feminine.
>
> “Sugar, the sister I never had, Bea. Bea,
> Sugar, my fiancée`.” It felt
> as if somebody had thrown cold water on her.
> His what? Blood rushed to
> her head. She blushed. Her cheeks felt very
> warm. She couldn’t
> swallow. Her heart beating a hundred beats per
> minute.
>
> “Your what?” She looked at Miguel, blushing
> then suddenly white as
> with shock. “I’m sorry, Sugar but this is quite
> a surprise. Miguel has
> never mentioned you in any of his e-mails,” she
> said as she looked at
> Sugar with a confused look. She looked at Tita
> Doris, she looked back
> as if she was consoling her.
>
> “Yeah, I got engaged. I’m keeping my promise.
> I’m getting married on
> Saturday. O di ba you’re here so in essence
> I’ve kept my promise.”
>
> She managed to smile faintly. She hugged Miguel
> and congratulated him.
> She even managed to tell Sugar “You got a catch
> here, girl. Take good
> care of him or else I will snatch him under
> your nose.” It sounded as
> if she was just joking, turning over a very
> important possession to
> it’s next owner. In the deepest recesses of her
> person, she knew she
> meant it.
>
> “He told me a lot of nice things about you.”
> Sugar said, smiling at
> her as if they had been friends for the longest
> time.
>
> “I’m sure he has.”
>
> Lunch was served. All of Bea’s favorite
> Filipino dishes. She and Sugar
> spent time chatting the afternoon away, looking
> at Bea’s and Miguel’s
> college photos and yearbooks. She found out
> that Sugar likes most of
> the things she does. They both came from the
> same high school. As she
> tried to get to know Sugar better during their
> afternoon chat, she
> realized that not only was she perfect for
> Miguel, she also seemed
> like the best gal pal Bea could find. They
> talked about the wedding
> details, the dress, the ring, the shoes, the
> tiara. They like almost
> the same places, the same styles, the same
> shops. She told Sugar they
> should do shopping marathon together. Had it
> been another day, she
> would be telling herself that this is really a
> great opportunity to
> find someone who understands her shopping
> needs. Except that this is
> not one of those days… Except that this
> woman, this perfect,
> feminine girlfriend was Miguel’s fiancée`.
>
> Bea’s phone rings. The name Boyfriend flashes.
>
> “You should really get that” Sugar told Bea.
>
> “Yeah, I guess I should. Hello? Yes? I’m good.
> I’m here at Miguel’s.
> Oh I have in front of me Sugar, Miguel’s
> fiancée`.” The words almost
> got stuck in her throat, but she still managed
> to give Sugar a smile.
> “Listen, I’ll call you later. I have very good
> news for you.”
>
> Miguel sat down beside Bea. Sugar was looking
> at them and asked “So
> tell me? Was there never a time the two of you
> were more than
> Platonic?” Bea and Miguel looked at each other
> then looked at their
> own hands. Miguel’s gaze turned to Sugar. He
> answered “Of course not.
> Bea and I were never like that.”
>
> “As in?” Sugar inquired.
>
> “LOL, oo naman. She was a handful. Too much to
> handle for me. I can’t
> keep up with her. She never stands still.”
> Miguel looked at Bea and
> smiled, his eyes turning into slits as his
> dimples gloriously show.
>
> “I guess that’s the way it is for you. But not
> for Edward.” Bea replied,
> with a little hint of disappointment.
>
> “Well, Edward is tough enough.” Miguel was
> still smiling.
>
> “Wait, speaking of Edward. I need to call him.”
>
> Bea left the garden and went up to her room to
> call Edward. “Hello?
> Edward. Here goes. Yes. The answer is Yes.”
>
> *********
>
> The wedding went well. It was one of the most
> elegant weddings she had
> seen. Sugar had everything covered and she was
> a very beautiful,
> blushing bride.
>
> “I, Miguel, take you, Sugar, as my friend and
> love, beside me and
> apart from me, in laughter and in tears, in
> conflict and tranquility,
> asking that you be no other than yourself, love
> what I know of you,
> trusting what I do not know yet, in all the
> ways that life may find
> us.”
>
> Bea felt a stab of pain hitting her heart. She
> slowly got up, walked
> away from the spectators. Tears streaming down
> her flushed cheeks.
>
> **********
>
> Bea is once again on her way to the airport.
> Miguel is driving for
> her, this time with a wedding ring on his left
> finger.
>
> “Hay, here we go again. I’m driving you to the
> airport. Kailan na
> naman kaya tao magkikita?”
>
> “Ewan ko. Tell me something,” her tone all too
> serious. “What was it
> that you love about Sugar? How did you know she
> was the one?” Miguel
> just smiled. “Dali na ano? Malay mo I need to
> decide in a couple of
> days di ba?”
>
> “You know what I love about her? The same
> things I loved about you
> before. The only difference is that she’s not
> as ambitious as you are.
> When you left for New York two years ago, I
> knew I don’t have a place
> in the life you’ve chosen. I don’t blame you
> for that. You’re good in
> your field and I thought to myself that it’s
> your right to move on
> without me. Moving away was a decision you made
> for yourself. I know
> this sounds silly and you might nag me about it
> but I found the better
> version of you in Sugar. She’s so much like you
> in so many ways but
> the only difference is she loves me more than
> you do.”
>
> She wanted to cry the tears she had kept as he
> witnessed him say his
> vows, but kept her composure. She just chuckled
> a laugh. How could he
> move on without her? Why was it easy for him
> and not for her? As she
> got off the car, she gave Miguel one last hug.
> This time she felt her
> heart heavy.
>
> “I guess this is goodbye?” she told Miguel.
>
> “Wait, I’m not letting you out until you answer
> question. Did Edward
> propose?”
>
> Bea showed Miguel her left hand. In it was a
> one carat diamond
> solitaire ring set in platinum. “Yes.”
>
> Miguel let out a sigh and congratulated her. As
> Miguel turned his gaze
> from the steering wheel to Bea’s face, he saw a
> single tear fall from
> her right eye and then she said, “If it gives
> any consolation. Edward
> is the best version of you that I can find in
> New York.”

I’m a handful, I’m too much to handle, I’m not the type who’ll just sit in one corner, I’m ambitious, maybe, this is how he thinks about me, I’m not sure if I’m reading the hints right. I am not looking for the best version of him, or may be I am but I am unaware. With him, I’m not sure if he’s looking for the best version of me, someone less ambitious, someone easier to handle. The forever could have beens, the frozen state of what ifs, I am tired of writing the same old sentiments but I can’t help it, I need to unload what’s crowding my mind. I can’t promise that this will be my last article, for as I said, I can’t help it.

1- O computador de alguém (não o seu) é infectado por um vírus;
2- No computador desse seu querido amigo tem seu endereço no catálogo de endereços do programa de e-mail;
3- O vírus manda mensagens para cada pessoa da lista com intuito de se propagar ou outro qualquer;
4- O vírus manda a mensagem para as pessoas utilizando nome de outras pessoas do catálogo de endereços, não necessariamente chegará com o nome de um amigo seu;

» Utilize um excelente programinha como o MailWasher para limpar sua caixa antes de baixar;
» Nunca encaminhe mensagens a um grupo de pessoas usando Cópia Carbono (CC), utilize o Cópia Carbono Oculta (BCC), assim não há risco de alguém “doar” sem querer a lista a algum spammer;
» Nunca adicione o e-mail de algum amigo seu em sites promocionais, listas de e-mail e pergunte-o antes qual e-mail dele deve cadastrar em qualquer site que vá enviar algo para ele, ex: cartão virtual, lembretes de aniversário, convite para participar de comunidades, indicação de sites, etc;

I am going to use Google as an example because this is what I’m most familiar with. keep in mind that there are alternatives out there.

When I finally voluntarily surrendered my company mobile phone (alas, goodbye Blackberry) I had to shop around for a cell phone. I wanted one that I could connect to my Windows PC without third-party software and keep it in sync. If I would have taken more time to research I probably would have settled for a different phone. For those who don’t know, syncing your phone to your Outlook does not configure your phone to receive emails direct from the email server. So the only time your phone will sync is when you connect it to the PC.

Enter Google, my hero with shiny teeth and spandex. Now without the need of special applications or complex configuration now I can sync my information from one central point. From the Gmail website with Google Sync I can update my contact list, calendar, and not miss any of my emails on my Windows Pocket PC. Availability of each service vary depending on your platform [what you are computing on].

Maybe your current communications management provider (i.e.: Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL You Got Mail) has some form of syncing services. But compare them to what Google offers and seriously consider migrating!

In the past few months several mobile devices have en mass taken to Google’s mobile operating system and launched Android-enabled handsets. In this season of heavy activity around Android phones, comes the big announcement of the launch of version 2.0 of the operating system, also code-named Eclair.

A number of enhancements have been added to the previous version including the much talked-about multi-touch feature and sync. Here’s how the Android can up your tech quotient with these new capabilities:

* Communicate instantly by tapping on the contact, and choosing from all available communication options (Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, etc)

* Availability of an accounts management API to store centrally account-credential information on the device

* Supports devices with various screen sizes and resolutions, with three different screens of each of the applications

* Multiple email account synchronization, that combines all account into a single email inbox with option of exchange support

* New virtual keyboard layout for faster and more accurate typing. The multi-touch ensures that all keys pressed during typing are not skipped.

* Bluetooth API allows the device to connect to other nearby devices. This capabilities includes the integration of features of social-interaction and P2P communication

* Improved camera controls with digital zoom, a scene mode, white balance controls, macro focus and colour effects

* Upgraded search and navigation features, with the addition of text and multimedia message search.

Now, you can get your hands on the Android 2.0 version through Verizon’s Motorola Droid, which was released today and among the first phones to implement the Android 2.0 version. Alternatively you can also download the Android 2.0 software development kit and experience its features through an emulator.

Personally after several months of usage, or rather as at today, I prefer GMAIL. Why? I’ll sha

Personally after several months of usage, or rather as at today, I prefer GMAIL. Why? I’ll share with you. GMAIL is not perfect with blackberry, but close to perfect.

+++++++++++++++++++++
What’s wrong with Gmail?
+++++++++++++++++++++
The only imperfect spot appears to be when a GMAIL user send a mail back to the exact same GMAIL acct. This is a known issue which will probably never be resolved. In GMAIL, the sent folder is essentially the same folder as IN. Or rather, there are NO FOLDERS in Gmail.
So if u send to urself, there is no sent action basically. It just seats in the same folder. That’s why the Blackberry will not be able to detect it as a incoming mail, since there is no incoming to start with. This issue does not happens for Yahoo mail.

With that little kink of Gmail and push system flaw, there are several way to overcome that.
1. Get the Gmail app client.
It connects direct to your Gmail acct via IMAP. So u have all your mails available to you. Problem is I have a half screwed Blackberry Plan from Singtel. It comes with only messaging without BIS. So my browser is a hotspot browser. The links in the client (or any other clients) will not work since I do not have the full Blackberry browser.

But if it is just plain reading, it’s fine. No URL support without BIS.

2. Use the browser to access Gmail online. But if coz!! U get to access all ur mails too. Not as fast as the native client on the BB though.

+++++++++++++++++++++
What’s Right with Gmail?
+++++++++++++++++++++
1. Google Sync
I love this app. It syncs my Contacts and Calendars to my google account.

2. The Gmail on mobile web, the URLs in the emails can be opened. Unlike Yahoo Mail, they appear as plain text.

3. MS Office docs related? Ie PPT, DOC, XLS if it is simple enough, it can be opened within the mobile web mail itself.

+++++++++++++++++++++
What’s Wrong with Yahoo?
+++++++++++++++++++++
1. The links in mobile web email appears as text.

2. No OTA sync like Google Sync for contacs and calendars

+++++++++++++++++++++
What’s Right with Yahoo?
+++++++++++++++++++++
1. Where push mail do not work for Gmail if sent to self? Yahoo works flawlessly here.

2. Yahoo mail icon on BB looks colorful too! Gmail icon is boring. Not that it matters, I hide them anyway.

So tonight!! I’m gonna switch back to Gmail to use with my blackberry.

*My blackberry is the weird Singtel $10.70 per mth plan. Does not come with BIS. IMHO, it cripples many thing. Especially the native BB Browser, Facebook, app world.

Bye Bye Yahoo.

Posted from a Blackberry Curve 8900 device.

#1. URL available for Gmail on Mobile mail

#2 URL not available for Yahoo Mail on Yahoo Mobile mail.

Work From Anywhere

Ah, working at home… Visions of leisurely days, conference calls in comfy sweatpants, increased productivity with fewer interruptions. But the distinctions between work life and home life soon blur. You really should throw some laundry in the wash before you write that proposal. You have an hour before a meeting: Should you balance your books or clean the kitchen? And remember to call that client back right after you empty the cat box.

Welcome to the real world of working at home: unforeseen
distractions, a lack of structured time, and sometimes a perceived
loss of identity. But don’t give up the dream just yet! By putting
into place a few simple ideas, you can reap more of the rewards of
working at home. Based on my experiences and those of my associates, here are 10 simple ways to help you stay on track.

**1. Separate Your Space**

Keep a separate, distinct work area in your home. (This is especially difficult if you’re living and working in a small home with your Wife and Five Children, like I was when I started my business in California!)If you don’t have a separate room, at least define an area, and know that when you’re in it, you’re in “work mode.” Make sure your roommates and family are
aware of this as well.

**2. Structure Your Time**

As your business and personal time mesh, it’s more important than
ever to structure your day. For example, if you regularly take a walk or go to the gym, try to do it every day at the same time. Value that personal appointment with yourself – even when you’re very busy. It will actually help you keep your business on track! I like to get up early and work until noon, then I take a few hours off to enjoy lunch, do some reading, and take my daily jog on the beach. Then I’m back at my desk at 4:00 until who knows when!

**3. Outsource All You Can**

When I began my business, I made the mistake of acting as my own courier service. I soon learned how much time I was wasting by visiting clients too much just to pick things up and drop them off. Whenever you start thinking, “Well I can do that myself,” STOP. Streamline your business, making everything as automatic as possible. Use outside services to stay focused on your *real work*. Get accounts with an overnight delivery service, messenger service, virtual assistant (VA), bookkeeper, etc. Save your energy for your brilliant ideas! : )

**4. Use Technology to Your Advantage**

In-person meetings are very valuable when appropriate, but schedule them sparingly. Try to do most of your business via phone, fax, and e- mail using the best equipment you can afford. For most home-based businesses, when you’re out of the office, you’re NOT making money. So it’s important that you can communicate flawlessly from where you are. And PLEASE do us all a favor and get separate lines/services for your phone, fax, and Internet! No one likes getting a busy signal.

(BONUS TIP: If your phone company offers voicemail, get it. Not only will your outgoing message sound more professional, but if you’re on an important call and don’t want to be disturbed, other callers can still leave you a message.)

**5. Group Your Errands**

Try to group your meetings and errands together to minimize your out- of-office time. Make a list in the morning of all the outside tasks you need done for the day, and attempt to complete them in one fell swoop. Even better, do what I do and designate just one day a week as your “blitz” day for errands and meetings. I like doing this, because then I need to get dressed up only one day a week! : )

**6. Stay Focused**

Make your workspace off-limits to other roommates or family members when you’re working. For you animal lovers, this may go for pets as well. (My cat Francine gets *very* jealous when I’m not giving her complete attention!) Keep all personal paperwork such as bills and magazines out of sight, so as not to distract you from your projects.

**7. Beware of Yappers**

Many of your friends and family will be immediately delighted when
they learn that you’re working at home. They picture you lounging on the couch, eating potato chips, and waiting for their calls. When they call you simply to chat, politely remind them that you’re working, and ask them if you can call them back after your day is over. It may take them awhile, but they’ll eventually “get it.”

**8. Work With Your Moods**

Keep track of your moods and productivity compared with the time of day. For example, if you find you’re more alert in the morning, use this time to make important calls and do your creative work. Take advantage of your natural cycles. If you feel better after an afternoon nap, go for it! (I’m a BIG proponent of the catnap. In fact, I may start a support group. : ))

**9. Suit Yourself**

To bring out your best work, make your environment perfect for YOU. How do you work best? With plenty of breaks, or with no interruptions? In silence, or with some light music in the background? On a cushy couch and coffee table, or at a business desk in an ergonomic chair? (My friends thought I was nuts when I spent $700 on my Herman Miller Aeron chair, but they quickly understood why once they sat in it! And my spine thanks me every day.)

Also, find some places you can do work when you need a change of scenery. How about the library, the park, or your neighborhood coffee shop? When I need to do serious reading, thinking, or editing, I take my work outside to the beach. The sea air, sunshine, and soothing waves help me think much more clearly.

**10. Break for People**

Feeling sluggish, lonely, or moody? Arrange for at least one social break during the week. (I aim for two or three.) Schedule breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even just coffee with a client, vendor, or friend. Join a business networking group, or sign-up for social activities such as dance class or recreational sports league. Don’t go into hermit mode – it can be self-destructive!

TechCrunch’s Leena Rao is reporting that Yahoo Mail is suffering a widespread but non-universal outage at the moment. Yup, I can’t get in to my account, but the first person I asked to check was fine.

Rao also says that Yahoo Mail is the most popular Webmail service, with over 300 million users. Let’s see if this glitch attracts even a meaningful fraction of the attention that the smaller-but-higher-profile Gmail’s hiccups prompt…

I just played the You’ve Got Mail dvd (yes, this is maybe the sixth time this fall) to have it

I just played the You’ve Got Mail dvd (yes, this is maybe the sixth time this fall) to have it running in the background as I have my coffee and get started on my work this morning.
Tom Hanks opens the email he receives from Shopgirl just as I get on Yahoo mail, and I notice the stark difference in reaction that people have to emails these days.
My reaction to having about 105 Unread Mail in my Inbox this morning is absolute disgust. Meg Ryan on the other hand, and I quote:

“I turn on my computer, I wait impatiently as it boots up. I go on line, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You’ve got mail. I hear nothing, not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beat of my own heart. I have mail. From you.”

Maybe it is because she was waiting for this particular email, or the novelty of actually having electronic mail technology. But for myself, I just cannot fathom having the same reaction to going online and checking my mail. Maybe it is the sheer volume of email everyone gets these days. Or the phrasing in the new UI. In the movie, AOL greets you with a cheery “Welcome, you’ve got mail” and emails are listed under the simple heading “New Mail”. Whereas my Yahoo account has a category “Unread” that makes it seem like a big item on my To Do list for the day.

O Yahoo! Se for conta

O Yahoo!
