A nova forma de ouvir rádio

Com a venda desenfreada de computadores e a popularização da banda larga, muitos serviços de Internet estão se popularizando. Dentre eles, as rádios on-line, sistemas de transmissão de músicas ou notícias por broadcast. Elas vieram para suprir um mercado sedento por música e cansado da mesmice das rádios comuns.

Nas rádios on-line o ouvinte escolhe o que quer ouvir, ao contrário da passividade das tradicionais. Além de várias informações sobre a música, em muitas delas tem-se total controle da programação. Simples: não gostou, muda pra outra música.

Grande exemplo é a Yahoo!Music, onde escolhe-se qual estilo ou até qual intérprete deseja ouvir. O site possui um enorme repertório a disposição, com um diferencial de poder dar notas a músicas, álbuns ou cantores enquanto ouve. Isso define com qual freqüência estas serão reproduzidas.

Algumas apenas transmitem seus programas via web, como a Woxy.com, uma rádio de música alternativa de Ohio, antiga 97X, antes tradicional e agora on-line.

Outra totalmente diferente é a Musicovery. Tudo funciona a base de cores. Podem-se escolher quais os estilos ou se a música é mais dançante, positiva ou energética, por exemplo. O formato da sua lista de reprodução é em balões interligados, cada um colorido de acordo ao estilo pertencente.

Rádio on-line é uma opção ótima (e legal) para se ouvir a música desejada no momento que quiser. Quando aparelhos portáteis equipados com wi-fi e suporte a streaming invadirem o mercado, será o fim da forma de ouvir rádios como hoje conhecemos.

Caedmon’s Call – Overdressed — features the return of Derek webb and is already getting great reviews

Needtobreathe – The Heat — The follow-up and to their impressive debut album.

Surrogate – Love is for the Rich — Made up of former members of Number One Gun, shows what bands that grow beyond the emo or pop/punk label are capable of.

Tooth and Nail is releasing “Love is for the rich” from Surrogate on August 28, 2007. Instead of a Post Hardcore sound they mine the same general territory, of say a Starflyer 59 or a Map. Check out the four songs they have in their player.

When some one says piano pop you might think mellow or bland, but whiz kid Bryce Avery on his latest release “Do you feel” shows how to put emotion and energy into piano pop. Not only does he play the piano and sing but plays a Gibson SG as well. The video also answers the qustion how may people can you get into a grand piano?!

I recently ran across the DC based band Army of Me which was formed in 2001. They just releasd an album “citizen” on doghouse records. The first 2 tracks “perfect” and “going through changes” have been in heavy rotation on my music player. You can vote for the band on Yahoo!Music. Here is the video for “going through changes” (it looks like it was shot on the metro which is a pretty cool way to get around dc!)
