26 November 2009. 2hari setelah rapat ricuh itu ada rapat lagi. Kali ini rapatnya bareng orang dari EO, yang bakal bantuin para panitia pensi.

Tau tidak yang hadir pada rapat kali itu hanya gustian as ketua panitia pensi, BIRD diwakili saya – kukuh – iffaan & Firda (Donny sedang rapat rokris), dan PI. LEAF gak dateng, dengan alas an mereka sedang remedial. Memang mereka pikir saya bodoh, dari segitu banyaknya pengurus LEAF gak ada satupun yang datang?

Rapat berlangsung, Ketua LEAF sempat masuk, namun pasif, tak bicara sedikitpun, lalu ditengah rapat tiba-tiba ia keluar.

Rapat kali itu sebenernya saya gak begitu ngerti, yang ngerti Yao sama PI, soalnya ngebahas dekor, dana, gueststar,dll. Pokoknya apa yang saya bisa bantu akan saya bantu, tinggal berikan saya komando maka saya akan langsung mengomando anak buah saya.

Saat penghujung rapat, Donny baru dateng, abis rapat Natal dia. Rapat pun selesai, dan orang EO pun pergi. Tinggal kami ngomongin apa apa yang harus dilakukan, dan kami minta gustian as panitia pensi untuk tegas, karena waktu rapat sebelumnya yang panas panas panas, gustian as ketua panitia seperti tidak dihargai oleh LEAF.

Tiba – tiba teman sebangku saya masuk ke ruang rapat. As we know, dia yang baru balik dari tugasnya langsung termakan omongan teman-temannya yang belum tentu benar.

Saat itu dia benar –benar bela organisasinya, dan jatuhin BIRD gitu aja. Saya ingin protes, saya ingin bicara, saya gak terima BIRD dibilang seperti itu. Tapi Donny bilang,  “Lo diem aja jas, biar gue yang ngomong”. Memang benar sih, Donny takut saya kenapa –kenapa soalnya saya masih duduk sebangku dengan wakil ketua LEAF SETENGAH TAHUN LAGI ! Oke saya diam.

Jadi teman sebangku saya berfikir seperti ini : Para pengurus LEAF terbentuk dengan adanya pelantikan, pelatihan, dsb. (Di sekolah saya pencarian bibit LEAF itu pake kekerasan, macam push up, guling2 di lapangan dll) Sedangkan BIRD terbentuk begitu saja, tanpa ada pelantikan dan pelatihan. Jadi hak –hak BIRD di sekolah saya berbeda dengan hak BIRD di sekolah lain, dan menurut teman sebangku saya, selama ini BIRD diajak kerja bareng aja udah lebih dari cukup. Istilahnya dikasih hati minta jantung.

Well, menurut saya as ketua BIRD : Memang mau kami seperti ini? Kami juga maunya BIRD ada pelantikan, pelatihan dll, dsn. Tapi itu kan sekolah yang ngatur. Kami bisa apa? Dan satu lagi, anggota BIRD adalah ketua kelas as perwakilan dari tiap – tiap kelas, so apa butuh pelatihan fisik macam LEAF? Ya enggak lah.

Sungguh saat itu hati saya sakit, karena selama ini menomor satukan sikap menghormati teman sebangku saya dari pada membela BIRD, tapi ternyata dia tidak menghargai saya, dia menomor  satukan organisasinya. Dan setelah itu, saya berubah haluan, saya akan terus bersama teman – teman BIRD, tanpa menghiraukan perasaan saya.

Karena tugas BIRD adalah mengontrol LEAF agar tidak bertindak sewenang – wenang, dan ini adalah salah satu cara mengontrol mereka. Cara mereka salah, terlalu superior. Bukannya menyatukan diri dengan BIRD dan PI, tapi mereka malah memisahkan diri, dan mau mereka BIRD dan pihak Indepen kerja dibawah komando mereka. Padahal itu salah. Yang berhak mengomando adalah gustian as ketua panitia pensi, bukan LEAF. Disitulah salahnya.

Setelah saat itu, status LEAF di facebook makin menjadi – jadi. Didalam tubuh LEAF sendiri pun ada konflik, konflik antar sesama LEAF. Dan dari status- status mereka sih sejauh ini, mereka nyalahin BIRD  atas perpecahan yang mereka alami.

Aib mereka umbar, komentar di status, note, dll.

Saya bilang ke seluruh BIRD, jangan ada yang komentar di status mereka.

Cara yang konyol menurut saya, seperti anak TK. Sangat konyol. Mereka saling membuka aib. Menjijikan guys.

Tapi ada salah satu komentar yang dibuat teman sebangku saya di status temen LEAFnya.

Dia bilang, “Cukup perdebatan kita sampai disini, karena ada yang tertawa diluar sana”.

Well, ngertikan maksudnya ?

Sakit hati saya readers.

Segitu buruknya kah prasangka buruk teman sebangku saya terhadap saya dan BIRD. Dia pikir saya tertawa ?

Boro – boro saya bisa tertawa, tiap saya memikirkan masalah ini, yang ada air mata saya yang jatuh. Saya menghormati teman – teman saya di LEAF, pure sebagai teman. Tapi begini balasannya…

Masalah semakin larut, konflik sana sini.

Oke, saya ceritakan kejadian yang menurut saya ada peranan saya disitu.

20 November 2009. Waktu itu rapat kepanitian pensi pertemuan kedua. FYI, rapat kepanitian pensi itu dihadiri oleh 3 kubu, yaitu: LEAF, BIRD, dan Pihak Independen (PI) dari perwakilan tiap kelas.

Rapat kali itu membahas tema, Voting tema gitu.  Ada 4 tema:

1. Tema dari gustian as ketua panitia pensi dengan perolehan 3 suara
2. Tema dari LEAF (Richard) dengan perolehan 11 suara
3. Tema dari BIRD (Arnold) dengan perolehan 1 suara
4. Tema dari PI (Yao) dengan perolehan 13 suara

Otomatis tema yang terpilih adalah tema dari PI dong. Waktu itu gustian as ketua panitia bilang, “hasil pemungutan suara valid, tidak dapat diganggu gugat oleh siapapun”. Oke saya dan teman – teman pun setuju dan bertekad untuk bekerja sama membuat pensi sesukses mungkin.

Tiba-tiba hari Senin, 23 November 2009. Yao dari PI menarik saya ke aula,

Yao : “Jas, kata LEAF pemungutan suara kemaren gak valid, mereka mau ngadain pemungutan suara ulang”

Saya: “Loh kenapa? Kan kata gustian as ketua panitia udah valid, ga bias diubah dong”

Yao : “ ga tau tuh, katanya ada suara yang gak sah, perwakilan kelas dari ipa 2 melebihi kuota (kuota: max. 5 orang perkelas) bantuin kita jas, voting nanti Cuma ada 2 tema, tema kita sama tema dari LEAF. Kita mesti ngapain?”

Saya : “Ya udah yao, lu siapin tema kemaren sebaik mungkin, jangan seperti kemarin yang dadakan”

Yao : “ BIRD bantu kita kan? Gue sama temen-temen gue ini perwakilan kelas jas”

Saya pun mengiyakan. Dari sini terlihat kalo LEAF mengambil peran oposisi terhadap panitia pensi lain. Padahal yang namanya panitia pensi itu mau asalnya dari LEAF, BIRD, rohis, rokris semua sama, tujuannya membuat pensi yang sempurna bersama-sama, bukan saling memerintah.

Waktu itu saya mendengarkan diskusi mereka tentang tema mereka, saya akui Yao professional sekali dalam mengurusi hal-hal seperti ini. Sallut. Yang hadir kala itu ada beberapa orang dari PI kelas, dan 3 orang wakil BIRD. Saya, Iffan, dan Kukuh.

Tiba-tiba salah seorang LEAF berteriak dari lapangan, “JAS, DIPANGGIL KE RUANG LEAF”.

Seketika saya gemetar. Firasat saya gak enak.

Saya minta iffan dan kukuh menemani saya waktu itu, tapi ternyata mereka diusir oleh para LEAF.  Di ruangan itu ada 7 orang LEAF, dan saya disitu mewakili BIRD dan PI SENDIRIAN.

Dan ternyata firasat saya benar terjadi. Awalnya mereka nagih proker BIRD ke saya (otomatis disitu peran saya wakilin BIRD), mereka menumpahkan semua ke saya, dari mulai teman – teman saya yang gak sopan sama mereka, sampe mulai masalah tema pensi itu. Waktu itu gak ada gustian as ketua panitia pensi. Tapi mereka numpahin semua ke saya.

Saya ngerti keadaan mereka, mereka berharap banyak pada saya. Saya sebagai mediator antara LEAF dan PI. Saya sebagai mediator antara LEAF dan anggota saya. Tapi saya bingung.

Jika kalian bloggers, melihat wajah saya waktu itu. Pucat, speechless, dan kebingungan. Saya bingung bagaimana mengucapkan semua pesan – pesan yang mereka katakana segitu banyaknya ke anggota BIRD nanti, saya bingung bagaimana mengatakan kepada mereka dengan sebaik mungkin. Karena kalau saya sampaikan semuanya anggota BIRD pasti marah besar !

Oke, lama – lama saya gak tahan sendiri disitu, saya tertekan men. 1 lawan 7 orang bisa apa saya? Akhirnya saya minta agar Yao masuk untuk mewakili PI. Dan saat itu pun saya merasa tertolong, sangat tertolong.

Kukuh, iffan, dan Teman-teman dari kubu independen menuggu kami di luar ruangan LEAF.

Saya bingung, bagaimana menyampaikannya. Saya sungguh bingung. Karena kalau saya ceritakan detil semuanya akan ada perang besar. Perang yang akhirnya saat ini benar terjadi.

The AP is reporting that the legendary professional Basketball player Allen Iverson is set to announce his retirement from the N.B.A. Iverson , a former Most Valuable Player for the N.B.A. has been in the league since the 1996 season, in which he was drafted in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers.

He played with the Sixers for 10 years. During his tenure he was Rookie of the Year, League MVP, 2x All-Star MVP, and led the league in scoring for four years. After his rookie season, during which he led the 76ers in points, assists and minutes, Iverson was named the 1996 NBA Rookie of the Year and was a member of the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

The 10-time All-Star played three games this season with Memphis before taking a leave of absence to attend to personal matters. He was waived after the two sides agreed to part ways.

The New York Knicks considered signing Iverson last week after he cleared waivers, before deciding he would take too much playing time away from younger players they are trying to develop.

With no apparent interest from any other NBA teams, Allen Iverson is set to retire.

Iverson will always be credited for popularizing the streetball style move called the cross-over, and for his exciting tricky aggressive driving style of play.

He was never the tallest on the floor, just the most dangerous player that always wanted the ball.

Allen Iverson is a sho-in for the Hall of Fame, and I suspect that he can still run with the best of them, given a team that can design their plays to allow Iverson to shoot at will.

I personally enjoyed the years I got to watch him compete in the NBA, and I look forward to seeing what he does in the future.

Thanks for the 100 percent effort Allen Iverson…you were worth watching and you will be missed.

Samantha Brown, author of “Destinations” for DeltaSky magazine, has a different take on Xi’an, which I read in August 2009. She calls it “an overlooked jewel,”  “approachable and scenic” and claims it “invites you to walk around.” When the monuments are illuminated at night, this “City of Lights” possesses “an atmosphere that borders on fantasy.”

Maybe I owe it another chance. Our guide Jiao told us Xi’an has a population of nine million (which, BTW, isn’t even large by China’s standards – Shanghai has nearly three times that number), and it sure seemed more urban and gritty than jewel-like.  Jiao beamed proudly as he told us of its more than fifty universities, and he made sure to point out the Xi’an City Library. This is a large, distinctly Post-Modern structure, strangely reminiscent of a Wesleyan University building I see from Route 9.  Maybe Xi’an’s library predates Wesleyan’s.

Jiao was a fine guide — young, new to the job, bursting with enthusiasm. He was dying to tell us about his home town. Xi’an prospered under the Han Dynasty (200 BC – 200 AD), when it became the eastern terminus of the Silk Road, which opened in119 BC. I pictured a wide roadway exiting the city’s western gate and saw an Emperor cutting the pink silk ribbon stretched across it. Jiao said it was over this road from Istanbul that Xi’an received alfalfa, carrots, celery, persimmons and pomegranates.  At nearly 250,000 residents, it was then the largest city in the world. Who knew? And is it true? I was reminded how little we learned in school about the East and how, prior to my China trip, I had never heard the name of this huge and hugely-historical city. During China’s most prosperous dynasty, the Tang (618-907 AD), Xi’an’s population was two million, of which 20 percent were foreigners.  Astonishing.

He told us more about the Han Dynasty, whose emperors oversaw the “four greatest inventions” of the ancient world: paper, printing, gunpowder and the compass. He tacked on acupuncture for good measure. On the spur of the moment, I couldn’t beat those four — or five. Its legacy is such that “Han” is now synonymous with “the Chinese people” (or it is to the Han descendants, anyway, if not to the ethnic minorities such as Yao and Dong that comprise nearly ten percent of the 1.3 billion population.)   More from Jiao:  Xi’an is China’s largest aviation center, and more than 70 percent of the Chinese rocket components are made there. He said its factories supplied parts for the first Chinese-made airplane. I was amazed to learn those planes were built just thirty years ago. I suppose I could find some of this stuff in guidebooks, but it is so much more interesting to hear it from cheerleader Jiao.

More interesting still was Jiao’s own story. When we asked about his family, siblings, etc., he said that he had an older sister and brother.  His sister was born after the one-child policy was established.  The good news/bad news is that parents of girls could try again, since girls didn’t count. (N.B., my editorializing, not how Jiao stated it.) And so his older brother was born. When Jiao was born, because his parents had gone over the limit, his father was fired from his government job. After that, whenever he saw his father’s former colleagues, Jiao said they always reminded him that “he was the child who lost his father his job.” This information, which he passed on to us as matter-of-factly as he reeled off factoids about Xi’an, described actual consequences of that policy. For us, all old enough to be Jiao’s mother, it was startling and poignant.

China has turned into a tourist destination—for the Chinese.

Before President Nixon visited China, the country was surrounded by an invisible bamboo curtain. It’s citizens were not allowed to travel far and had to ask permission when they did. Even in 1999, the first time I visited China, Western tourists were more noticeable than Chinese tourists.

In September and October 2008, there were so many Chinese tourists everywhere we went, that we were the minority. The loudest evidence that China is changing is the number of people toting cameras and traveling across China to visit history or nature.  And China has both in abundance.

The Dragon’s Back is one example. The construction of the Longi Rice Terraces started during the Yuan Dynasty (1271 – 1368). Even today, many Zhuan and Yao ethnic people live a simple life that honors the laws of nature. China’s central government encourages them to live that way.

The Dragon’s Back is in Southeast China near Vietnam. Only a few villages are open for tourists. After our bus climbed a narrow, winding mountain road, we reached a parking lot that reminded me of lots in the United States that served national parks. 

For a few yuan, we gained entry. Inside, past the ticket booths, were men willing to carry us to the top in sedan chairs. Considering how steep the climb was, the two men that it took to carry each chair must have had legs of iron.

A hundred feet further, vendor’s stalls lined both sides of the road. It was China’s market economy in action reminding me of Disneyland and the shops there that sold trinkets no one needs.

We walked halfway to the top before reaching a village built on stilts clinging to the mountain.  The steep slopes around the village were heavily terraced to grow rice. Since it was mid afternoon, we stopped to eat. We enjoyed local rice cooked in sections of bamboo on a hot bed of coals.

That night in our hotel, we were kept awake by an overactive air conditioner turning the room into a freezer and the loud voices of someone singing in a nearby karaoke bar. Morning, by contrast, was quiet. There was a river flowing through the center of the city, and  I watched from our hotel room as men on bamboo rafts fished with small throw nets.

Climbing the Dragon’s Back was a rewarding experience. One that would be impossible to duplicate in the United States. During America’s expansion west in the 19th century, the native populations were decimated by European diseases, defeated in battles they did not want to fight and driven from the land they had lived on for ten thousand years.

Yet, we saw a place where life hasn’t changed much except for the tourists. Mao is gone. The Cultural Revolution ended decades in the past, and China is moving on while time seems to stand still on the Dragon’s Back.

Olimpiyat sezonuyla birlikte yarışmalara geri dönüşler de başladı. Yarışmalara gerin denenlerden biri de Çinli Xue Shen/Hongbo Zhao çifti…

Çiftlerde 2007’de üçüncü kez Dünya şampiyonu olduktan sonra bir daha yarışmalara girmeyen Shen/Zhao ikilisi, Olimpiyat sezonu öncesinde, yeniden Kış Olimpiyatlarına girmek ve madalya kazanabilmek amacıyla hazırlıklara başladı.

Üç dünya şampiyonluğu (2002, 2003, 2007) bulunan ve iki kez de Kış Olimpiyatlarında bronz madalya (2002, 2006) kazanan Çinli ikili, üçüncü kez gireceği Kış Olimpiyatlarında daha da büyük bir hedefi sahip: Madalya listesinde bulunmayan Olimpiyat altınını kazanmak…

Shen/Zhao ikilisi, 2009 Cup of China yarışmasında başarılı bir geri dönüş sergiledi ve altın madalya kazandı. Çift, altın madalyayı kazanırken takım arkadaşları ve rakipleri 2009 Dünya ikincisi Dan Zhang/Hao Zhang’ı da geride bırakmayı başardı.

Shen ve Zhao, yeni sezonun hazırlıklarına yaz aylarında başladı. Antrenmanlarını basın mensuplarının ve seyircilerin izlemesine izin vermedi çift. Buz pateni dünyasında önemli bir yere sahip olan koreograf Lori Nichol ile çalışmaya başladılar. Yeni sezon için iki yeni program hazırladılar. Kısa program Who Wants to Live Forever, serbest programları da Tomaso Albinoni’nin Adagio’su üzerine oluşturuldu.

Cup of China, çiftin yeni sezondaki ilk yarışması oldu. Salonu dolduran seyirciler, çift programını sunmak için buza çıktığı anda sürekli alkışla karşıladı.

Kısa programında iyi bir performans ortaya koyan çift, yan yana üçlü toeloop’u da tam isabetle yaptı. Yan yana üçlü toeloop’un çift için kötü bir anısı vardır. Zhao, 2005 Ağustos’unda antrenmanda bu atlayışı çalışırken Aşil tandonunu kırmış ve aylarca antrenman yapamamıştı. 2006 Torino Kış Olimpiyatlarına katılma hayallerini tehlikeye atan bu sakatlığı iyileşen Zhao, yeniden antrenmanlara başlamış ve çift, bronz madalya kazanmayı başarmıştı.

Geçmişte Zhao’nun zayıf noktasını oluşturan tekli atlayışlar, şimdi daha güven verici görünüyor. “Geçmişte bunlarla sorunlarımız vardı ama şimdi daha sağlıklıyız. Bu nedenle atlayışlar daha iyi” diyor Zhao.

Serbest programda bazı hatalar yaptılar. Zhao, üçlü toeloop’tan öbür ayağının üzerine sıçrayarak çıktı, Shen de, ikili axel’da sorunla karşılaştı. Çiftler spin kombinasyonu, eksik tur dönüldüğü için puan alamadı ama buna karşılık fırlatmalı üçlü atlayışlar, eskiden olduğu gibi yine etkileyiciydi.

Zhao, “Mayıs antrenmanlara yeniden başladığımızda yaptığımız planın eksiksiz olarak yürümesinden çok memnunuz. Performansımız henüz mükemmel değil ama yine de iyiydi. Hatta ben, bu kadar yüksek almamıza da şaşırdım. Atlayışlar daha iyi olabilirdi. Daha iyi kayabiliriz, bunun için de daha enerjik olmalıyız” diyor Zhao.

Partneri ve karısı Shen de, “Bazı elementlerin zorluk derecesi düşüktü. Spin kombinasyonumuzun zorluk derecesi yoktu. Bu da, sıfır puan demektir. Tur sayımız düşüktü. Spin olması gerektiği gibi yapsaydık, daha yüksek puan alabilirdik” diye ekliyor.

Çift, yine de 200.07 gibi yüksek bir puan aldı. 2008 ve 2009’un Dünya şampiyonu Alman Aliona Savchenko/Robin Szolkowy ikilisinin sahip olduğu en yüksek toplam puanı 2009 Dünya Şampiyonasında aldıkları 203.48 puan. Aradaki fark çok az. Ancak unutmamak gerekir ki Savchenko/Szolkowy ikilisi de, o şampiyonada hatasız program sunamamış ve Szolkowy adım dizilerinde düşmüştü.

Shen/Zhao çifti, Cup of China yarışmasında, Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya mücadelesinde ciddîye alınmaları gerektiği mesajını verdi.

Shen, “Hâlâ rekabet gücümüzün olduğunu gördük” diyor. Kocası da ekliyor: “Dolayısıyla Olimpiyatlara gitmek istiyoruz. Bunun için de antrenörümüzün (Yao Bin) hazırladığı planı adım adım uyguluyoruz. Geri döndük, bu çok hoş bir duygu… Amacımız, her yarışmada hep en iyisini yapabilmek. Yapmamız gereken daha çok iş var. En önemli şey, sağlımız koruyabilmek ve sakatlanmamak…”

Çift, programlarını kayarken daha hızlı ve daha akıcı olmaları gerektiğinin farkında…

Buz pateni dünyasının kıdemlilerinden olan Shen/Zhao çift, büyük deneyime sahip… Ne yapacaklarını iyi biliyorlar. Geri dönmüş olmaları, bu sezon yarışmalara daha fazla heyecan ve çekişme getirecek. Vancouver Olimpiyatlarında Çiftler yarışması, çok daha dikkat çekici olacak. Shen/Zhao ikilisi, sadece Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya kazanmak için dönmediğini belirtiyor. “Biz kaymayı hâlâ çok seviyoruz. Geri dönmemizin bir sebebi de bu. Bunu Pekin’de herkes görmüştür herhalde…” diye ekliyor Shen.

Xue Shen/Hongbo Zhao ikilisi, Dünya şampiyonluğunu kazanan ilk Çinli çift olmuştu. Zhao, bir antrenör tarafından iyi bir buz patencisi olacağı düşüncesiyle “keşfedildiği” zaman basketbolla ilgilenen küçük bir çocuktu. Ailesinin hali vakti pek yerinde olmadığından sporla ilgilenmesine karşı çıkılmıyordu. Sporla ilgilenmesi nedeniyle en azından eğitimi ve beslenmesi sorun olmuyordu ailesine.

Çin’in Harbin kentinde 13 Kasım 1978′de doğan Shen’in ailesinin de durumu pek parlak değildi. Her ikisi de buz patenine ayrı ayrı Tekler kategorisinde başlamıştı; ikisi de daha sonraki yıllarda Çiftlerde kaymaya başlamıştı. Zhao’nun önceki eşi Maomao Xie idi.

Shen Lu Manil (annesi) ve Shen Jie’nin (babası) tek çocuğuydu Xue. Adı, kar anlamına geliyor. Paten kaymaya beş yaşındayken buz tutmuş bir futbol sahasında başlayan Xue, sıfırın altında sıcaklıkta zaman zaman günde sekiz saate kadar çalışmış… Çocukluğunda sık sık hasta olan Xue, spor yaparak güçlensin diye buz patenine gönderilmiş. İyi de piyano çalan Xue Shen, geçliğinin ilk yıllarında Harbin’de zaman zaman orkestralarda piyano çalmış.

Zhao, dört çocuklu bir ailenin en küçük çocuğu olarak Harbin’de 22 Eylül 1973′de dünyaya gelmiş. Annesi Jing Yulan, fabrika işçiliğinden emekli olmuş. Babası ise, yaklaşık 10 yıl önce ölmüş. 7 yaşındayken buz patencisi olmak üzere seçilen Zhao, bu nedenle Harbin’deki bir spor okulunda yatılı okumaya başlamış…

Shen ve Zhao, Ağustos 1992′de bir araya geldi. Antrenörleri Yao Bin oldu. Yao Bin, Luan Bo’yla birlikte Çin’in Dünya Şampiyonasında yarışan ilk çiftiydi. 1980 Dünya Şampiyonasında 15′inci olmuşlardı. Yao Bin, ilk başladıkları günlerde, çok kötü kaydıkları için seyircilerin kendilerine nasıl güldüklerini hiç unutmamış… Bu da, dünya çapında bir çift yetiştirme hayalini sokmuş kafasına…

Shen/Zhao ikilisi, uluslararası yarışmalarda birdenbire büyük dereceler elde etmedi. Uluslararası yarışmalara ilk girdiklerinde spinleri yavaş ve beceriksizce yapıyorlardı. Yan yana spin yaptıklarında aralarındaki ahengi hemen kaybediyorlardı. Fırlatmalı jumplarda Zhao’nun eşini havaya fırlatma tekniği son derece zayıftı. Zhao, ayrıca Shen’i havaya kaldırdığı liftler sırasında belki acemilikten, belki tecrübesizlikten, buzu adeta tekmelemesi nedeniyle çok eleştiriliyordu.

Başlangıçta çok güçlük çektiler. Shen/Zhao, ilk kez Dünya Şampiyonasına 1994′de katıldı ve 21′inci oldu. Çift, bir yıl aradan sonra 1996 yılında Dünya Şampiyonasında 15, 1997′de de 11′inci sırayı aldı. Bu dereceler, Çinli ikilinin belirli bir yükseliş içinde olduğunu gösteriyordu.

1998, uluslararası alanda “patladıkları” yıl oldu. 1998 Nagano Kış Olimpiyatlarında beşinci olan çift, Dünya Şampiyonasında da dördüncü sırayı aldı. 1999 ve 2000 Dünya Şampiyonalarında ikinci olarak gümüş madalya elde eden ikili, böylece bocalamayla geçen bir başlangıç döneminden sonra uluslararası planda nihayet kendini göstermeye başladı.

Artık madalya kazanabilecek seviyeye gelmişler ve sıkıntılı günleri geride bırakmışlardı. Dünya şampiyonu olmaya hazırlardı… 1999 ve 2000′de ISU Grand Prix final yarışmasını kazandılar ama hâlâ Dünya şampiyonu olamamışlardı.

2001′de Vancouver’de (Kanada) altın madalya kazanmaları bekleniyordu Çinli patencilerin… Kusursuz denecek bir program sunmuşlardı. Seyirciyle aralarında sıcak bir ilişki kurulmuştu ama bu yeterli olmadı. Kanadalı Jamie Salé/David Pelletier ile Rus Elena Berezhnaya/Anton Sikharulidze çiftinin ardından üçüncü oldular.

Bu durum, Çinli ikilide bazı değişiklikler meydana gelmesini sağladı. Hep Çin müzikleri kullanıyorlardı programlarında… Vancouver’den sonra, daha çok beğenilen Batı müziği parçaları kullanmaya başladılar.

2001 Dünya Şampiyonası hakkında, “Puanların düşük verildiğini görünce hayal kırıklığına uğradık. Böyle bir şey üçüncü kez oluyordu. Bu üç seferde de kazanma ihtimalimiz vardı ama şanssızdık” diyor Çinli ikili.

Shen ve Zhao, artistik yanlarını daha da geliştirmek için koreograf Lea Ann Miller ile çalışmaya başladı. 2002′de Puccini’nin “Turandot” operası üzerine hazırladılar serbest danslarını. Kayış tarzlarında öteden beri istedikleri gelişmeyi de sağlamışlardı. Ama hâlâ yeterli seviyede değillerdi.

Dünya Şampiyonalarında kazanmadıkları bir tek altın madalya kalmıştı. Onu da bir sonraki yıl kazandılar. 2002 Salt Lake City Kış Olimpiyatlarında üçüncü olan Shen/Zhao ikilisi, Olimpiyatlardan bir ay sonra, Mart 2002′de düzenlenen Dünya Şampiyonasına Olimpiyatlarda ilk iki sırayı alan Rus ve Kanadalı çift katılmama kararı alınca, altın madalya kazanma fırsatına kavuştu. Ancak, bazılarına göre bu şampiyonluk gölgeliydi. Shen/Zhao çifti, Dünya Şampiyonasında beklendiği derecede iyi değildi. Dereceye giren diğer iki çift kendilerinden daha fazla hata yaptığı için Shen /Zhao çifti Dünya şampiyonu olmuştu.

2003te Washington’da düzenlenen Dünya Şampiyonasında Çinli ikili aynı başarıyı tekrarladı ve şampiyon olarak altın madalyayı ikinci kez arka arkaya kazandı. Seyirciler, serbest programlarını tamamladıklarında, “altı”, “altı” diye tempo tutuyordu (eski puanlama sistemi). Shen, serbest programı sakat bileğini zorlayarak kaymıştı. Hakemler de, programın güzel sunuluşuna kayıtsız kalmadı ve Çinli patencilere dört hakem 6.0 tam puan verdi. Shen, yarışma öncesi antrenmanda fırlatmalı jump sırasında düşmüş ve bileğini sakatlamıştı. Serbest program yarışmasına ağrı kesici iğne yaptırarak çıkmıştı. Zhao, programlarını tamamladıklarında Shen’i kucaklayarak pistten çıkardı. Shen’in ağrı kesicilerin etkisiyle adeta taşlaşmış bir bilekle üçlü jumpları ve fırlatmalı jumpları yapması inanılmaz gibi geliyordu seyircilere… Zhao, “Eşimin performansını takdir ediyorum. Altın madalyalarımıza değişiklik yapabilseydik, kendime daha küçük bir madalya ona daha büyük bir madalya verirdim” diyordu.

Aralık 2003′de ISU Grand Prix finalinde şampiyon olan Çinli ikili, Dortmund’daki (Almanya) Dünya Şampiyonasına favori olarak gidiyordu. Ancak Zhao, kısa program yarışmasında üçlü toeloop sırasında çok kötü şekilde düştü ve buzdan doğrulup programa devam etmesi biraz uzun sürdü. Bu nedenle kısa programı dördüncü sırada bitirdiler. “Fındıkkıran” üzerine hazırlanan serbest programı sunarken yarışmanın en iyi performansını sunan Çinli ikili, serbest programda birinci oldu ama genel klasmanda ikinci olarak gümüş madalya elde etti. Çinli ikili, teknik değerlendirmede iki, artistik değerlendirmede 10 hakemden 6.0 tam puan aldı ancak bu puanlar birinci olmalarına yetmedi.

2005, onlar için iyi bir yıl olmadı. Zhao’nun aşil tandonundaki sakatlık nedeniyle Dört Kıta Şampiyonasına giremeyen ikili, Moskova’da düzenlenen Dünya Şampiyonasına hazırlanıyordu. Kısa programda üçüncü olan çift, Zhao’nun nükseden sakatlığı nedeniyle serbest program öncesinde şampiyonadan çekilmek zorunda kaldı ve böylece sezonu kapattı.

Bir sonraki yıl, yani 2006, Olimpiyat yılıydı. Kış Olimpiyatları İtalya’nın Torino kentinde düzenlenecekti. Çinli çiftin amacı altın madalya kazanmaktı. Bu amaçla, çok sıkı çalışıyorlardı. Ancak şanssızlık yakalarını bırakmadı. 5 Ağustos 2005 tarihinde antrenman sırasında Zhao’nun aşil tandonundan yeniden sakatlanması, hesapları alt-üst etti. Zhao, ameliyat edildi ve uzun bir iyileşme süreci başladı. Kış Olimpiyatlarına altı ay kala meydana gelen bu ciddî sakatlık, çiftin Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya kazanma umutlarına ağır bir darbe indirdi.

Zhao, ameliyattan sonra, “Kendimi bırakmayacağım. Gelecek Şubat ayında yapılacak Olimpiyatlarda yarışacağımı umuyorum. Ciddî bir sakatlık geçiren Shen’in 2003 Dünya Şampiyonasında yaptığı gibi ben de mücadeleci ruhumu ortaya koyacağım” diyordu.

Beş ayı aşan bir iyileşme döneminden sonra antrenmanlara yeniden başlayan Zhao’nun en büyük amacı, partneriyle birlikte üçüncü ve son kez Olimpiyatlara katılmak ve altın madalya kazanmaktı.

18 yıldır Zhao’nun antrenörlüğünü yapan Yao Bin, “Zamanında iyileşmiş olsaydı Shen ve Zhao, Torino’da altın madalyanın en büyük adayları olurdu. Ama yine de bundan vazgeçmiş değiliz. Eğer en ufak bir şans varsa, mucize yaratmak için elimizden gelenin en iyisini yapmaya çalışacağız” diyordu.

Nihayet Olimpiyatlar geldi çattı. Çinli ikili, yeni sezonda ilk kez Torino Olimpiyatlarında piste çıkıyordu. Kısa programı beşinci, serbest programı üçüncü sırada tamamlayan Shen/Zhao ikilisi, genel klasmanda üçüncülüğe yükseliyor ve başarılı bir performans sergileyerek bronz madalya kazanıyordu.

Zhao, “Bu yıl bizim için çok zor oldu. Bu nedenle, Olimpiyatlarda kazandığımız bu ikinci bronz madalyanın anlamı bizim için çok büyük. Mucize gibi bir şey. Yıllar sonra bile yine bu anı hatırlayacağız. Bu, bizim açımızdan unutulmaz bir deneyim olacak. Planımız, altın madalya kazanmaktı ama altı ay önce bu acımasız gerçek (sakatlık) ortaya çıktı. Performansımızdan ve bronz madalya kazanmaktan mutluyuz” diye konuşuyordu.

Olimpiyatlardan sonra 2006 Dünya Şampiyonasına girmeyen çift, 2006 ISU Grand Prix serisinde girdiği her yarışmayı kazandı. Cup of China ve NHK Trophy yarışmalarında altın madalya kazanan çift, 2006 ISU Grand Prix finalinden de altın madalyayla çıktı.

2007, yine parlak bir yıl oldu. Önce Asya Kış Oyunları ve Dört Kıta Şampiyonasında altın madalya kazandılar, sonra da Dünya Şampiyonasında üçüncü kez altın madalyaya ulaştılar.

Shen, yarışmadan sonra, “Kendimi çok yorgun hissediyorum. Uzun bir dinlenme dönemine ihtiyacımız var. Bu dönem, belki de bir yıl sürer. Gelecekte yeniden dönebiliriz. Ama bunun ne zaman olacağınız bilemiyorum. Yeteneğimize ve fiziksel gücümüze bağlı bu” diyordu. Zhao da, “Çok sevinçliyiz. Seyircilerin bizi ayakta alkışlaması, bize verilebilecek en iyi armağandır. Seyircilere teşekkür ediyoruz” diye ekliyordu.

Bir yıl süreceği söylenen bu dinlenme dönemi iki buçuk yıl sürdü ve Mayıs 2009 geldiğinde yarışmalara yeniden döneceklerini açıkladılar.

Daha önce üç kez katıldığı Kış Olimpiyatlarında (1998, 2002, 2006) altın madalya alamamanın acısını çıkarmak istiyor ikili.  “Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya kazanmak bizim en büyük hayalimiz. Üç kez Dünya şampiyonu olduk ama Olimpiyatlarda altın madalyamız yok. Geri dönüşümüzün sebebi çok açık: Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya almaya çalışmak…” diyor Zhao, geri dönüş sebeplerini açıklarken…

Shen ve Zhao, 2007 Dünya şampiyonasından sonra Çin’in Shenzen kentine yerleşti ve orada bir paten kulübü işletmeye başladı. Çift, aynı zamanda, yabancı ülkelerde gösteri gruplarında da kaydı.

Onların yarışmaları bırakmasından sonra iki yıl ardarda Dünya şampiyonluğunu kazanan Alman Aliona Savchenko/Robin Szolkowy çifti, en önemli rakip olarak görünüyor fakat Çinli çift de kendi yeteneklerinden emin…

Zhao, “Alman çift çok iyi ama en büyük rakibimiz yine kendimiziz. Çin’in bu alanda Pang Qing/Jian Tong ve Dan Zhang/Hao Zhang gibi Dünya çapında sporcuları var. Onlarla birlikte antrenman yapıyoruz. Aramızda fazla bir boşluk kalmadığını düşünüyorum” diye görüşlerini dile getiriyor.

Zhao, “Antrenmanlar arttıkça, hemen hemen her kasımız ağrıyor ama daha da fazla çalışmaktan başka çıkar yol yok” diye konuşuyor. Shen de, “Gençlerden daha çok çalışıyoruz ve her gün üzerimize düşeni fazlasıyla yapıyoruz” diyor.

Shen/Zhao ikilisi, Mayıs 2007’de evlendi ancak şimdiye kadar düğün yapacak zaman bulamadı.  Çocuk yapma planları da, Olimpiyat sonrasına ertelendi. Shen, “Düğünü yapmayı, Olimpiyatlarda altın madalya kazandıktan sonra yeniden düşünebiliriz” diyor.

Evlenme teklifi de buz üzerinde gelmişti. Zhao, 2007 Dünya Şampiyonasında serbest programın hemen bitiminde, Shen’in önünde dizinin üzerine çökerek o anda kendisine evlenme teklif etmişti. Shen de, şaşkınlıkla, dizinin üzerine çökerek Zhao’ya sarılmıştı.

Shen, “Ben o zaman bunun evlilik teklifi olduğunu anlamamıştım. Bu yüzden ben de dizlerimin üzerine çöktüm” demişti.

Bugüne dönersek… Shen ve Zhao, yeni sezona, Pekin’de düzenlenen Cup of China yarışmasında altın madalya kazanarak başladı.

17 yıldır birlikte kayan çift, bu sürede çeşitli yarışmalarda 39 altın, 15 gümüş ve 11 bronz madalya kazandı.

31 yaşındaki Shen ve 36 yaşındaki Zhao, dördüncü Olimpiyatlarında altın madalya kazanmaya çalışacak. Yolları açık olsun…

Claymore Securities is launching a new exchange-traded fund for investors to get one more method exposure to the Chinese stock market.  The new ETF is the Claymore/AlphaShares China All-Cap ETF (NYSE: YAO), and is Claymore’s third effort in a China-focused ETF.  The other two ETFs are the Claymore/AlphaShares China Small Cap Index ETF (NYSE: HAO), built on Chinese small-cap companies; and then there is the Claymore/AlphaShares China Real Estate ETF (NYSE: TAO), focused on real estate companies in China.

Claymore called this the ideal time for investors to access China’s market through an all-cap product.

The “YAO” aims to track the AlphaShares China All Cap Index, which tracks the performance of the investable universe of publicly-traded companies of all market capitalizations of companies based in mainland China, although it does note that index members must have a float-adjusted market capitalization initially of $500 million or greater and a market cap of $400 million or greater for ongoing index inclusion.

As of September 30, 2009 the index included 99 securities: approximately 57% in large caps, 33% in mid-caps and 10% in small-caps.  The index member weightings can be found at its index weightings section of the Claymore.com website.

We took a look through the list of constituents and what is different about this ETF compared to many other ETFs in China is that this one directly tracks many of the key companies directly on the exchanges in Hong Kong or in China rather than just the US-listed ADRs.  Many of those ADRs are only available in Pink Sheet-listed securities.  Otherwise, three of the top five index components would not be available to US-holders, and the top 5 constituents account for right about 25% of the entire weighting of the ETF.

I am the only white person on the bus on the way to the hotel in the Jinkeng rice terraces. I am in fact booked in as ‘the white guy’…
The bus plays a promo video full of happy Yao people singing and dancing, as minorities do when they don’t smile on posters, happily gazing at the bright future. Right.

We lumber through the ugly Guilin suburbs traffic in a strange scenery: right behind the half-finished houses and the damn cables (which prevent all nice pictures), karst peaks peek out of the fog. I’m looking forward to seeing more. And less cables, if possible. The video now playing is a comedy show. The audio booms, untamed. There is no way to get rid of it!

Once we get off the bus and start climbing up towards the hotel, I smile: it was worth all the hassle. As we pass lower villages crowded with buses and walk up the path to Dazhai, the first scenarios offer themselves to the eye: tiny clusters of wooden houses floating in the rice terraces, almost ready for harvesting. And that’s just a taster, as I will discover. Yao women with empty baskets offer to carry the bags up the steep hills (one is actually washing her hair like in the videos).
I am very lucky to meet a friendly Chinese girl, expat in Singapore. We’ll stick together for the rest of the day talking English. She’s a life saver with the food: there are some other white people (DUTCH AGAIN OH NOO), but the menu is very devoid of English words.

I discover at this point that the hotel organizes the trip as a full package: we’ll walk around together with a guide and… go on a white water rafting tomorrow. All included in the cheap rent. I am pleased.

But I am holding back my impression of the terraces. As we toil upwards towards the hotel, which is the highest of the whole area, we often stop to take the scenery in. It is amazing. Every corner, every peak of the area is covered in terraces, which snake through the landscape like a dragon’s backbone (hence the name of the area), the odd house here and there breaks the sea of green and gold.

On the way up, villages are cradled in the rice. They've been there for centuries.

I take a ridiculous amount of pictures from the 3 main viewpoints, which boast names like ‘golden Buddha hill’. The sky opens up enough to allow some dramatic shots, where a patch of light travels through the landscape, defining shapes.
It is quite a trek as we end up walking in single file for almost 6 hours on flagstones and clay paths. The last 10 minutes we get rained upon, but it’s ok. I am really on vacation

As you probably figured, I done did some bloggin’ about my very recent trips to Baltimore and NYC already, so let me rewind a bit to the past to continue right where I ended – September 11th at JFK airport!

Flighttime between NYC and SF is a proper 6 hours. I slept like a puppy on goatmilk and arrived in San Fran just in time for the most San Franciscan of all lunches

with ma homeboy Yao.

The Sucka Free is still somehow my dearest destination in the US (NYC don’t be mad, I kinda <3 u too), so I appreciated the freedom to spend some time there, before hopping on the next plane. SF vista from Twin Peaks, anyone?

The following glimpse shows a view of the infamous Bay Bridge, as seen from Pier 7, which used to be THE skateboarding spot back in the late 90s.

No more, unfortunately, since the city of San Francisco has a zero tolerance policy for shredding these days.

Kind of a sad move to ignore and trying to suspend an entire culture from a city that is still being referred to as the Mecca for that particular movement. I used to shred there myself a while ago, and had the wonderful opportunity to see an SFPD cop car from the inside. Here’s to the good ol’ days.

Deron Williams hopes to lead Rochelle from Milan to Minsk

The lyrics to the opening song in “Rochelle, Rochelle: The Musical” state the following: “You’ve made a long journey from Milan to Minsk/Rochelle, Rochelle”. Jerry Schouten is hoping Minsk is a President’s Residence Championship, something that has eluded him in his five-year tenure in the league. However, with Yao Ming likely sidelined for the season, Schouten will have to pull a few strings to make that a reality.

Aside from the questions surrounding Ming, Schouten finds himself in good shape. After just missing the playoffs in 2008-09, he landed the third pick in this year’s draft and with a pair of selections in each of the second and third rounds will be finished and eating Little Ceasers before fellow manager Brent Minty even makes a pick.

Deron Williams and Joe Johnson headline Schouten’s group of keepers, though the back-end trio of LaMarcus Aldridge, Jameer Nelson and Rodney Stuckey leave something to be desired. Though Nelson had a career-year in 2008-09, he wasn’t much of a fantasy contributor prior to last season. Aldridge is a solid young big man, but can he grab a board or block a shot? Stuckey was far from spectacular as Detroit’s starting point guard last season, though he’ll likely benefit from Allen Iverson’s departure. Still, where will he fit in with Ben Gordon now in the mix?

Schouten will again be relying on Williams, whom he selected late in the 2006 Pres Res Draft, to lead his team to the next level. The Jazz point guard isn’t a bad leader, either. Last season he averaged career highs of 19.4 points and 10.7 assists per game — the fourth straight year he’s seen statistical increases in those two categories.

PROGNOSIS

If he’s able to do something with Ming, the playoffs are a probability for Schouten.

In just a few days I will be leaving the U.S. to travel to with the Young Ambassadors for Opportunity (YAO) to Tanzania and Rwanda. YAO is a young professional organization that supports the work of Opportunity International. YAO is made up of young professionals from around the U.S. who share a common interest in microfinance and the work of Opportunity. I have been working on YAO related things since I began my internship with Opportunity in May and I am super excited to finally be able to meet some of the most committed members of YAO. While I don’t expect to be an intern at Opportunity indefinitely (am currently job searching!), I do expect to remain an active YAO member long into the future.

So, what am I (and YAO) going to Tanzania and Rwanda for? I am personally interested in microfinance and I am going to see the banking programs that Opportunity International is developing in each country. I have been learning about microfinance for a few years now and I have been directly involved in microfinance since my graduation from Loyola Chicago this May, when I began interning with Opportunity. Many people ask me when I tell them what I am doing, “What is microfinance? I’ve never heard of it.” Well, if you haven’t don’t worry! Simply put, microfinance is the provision of banking services (loans, savings, insurance, training) to the poor. The short mission statement of microfinance is to bring banks to all. Opportunity International does this through its many programs (both banks and NGO MFIs) around the world and YAO has undertaken Opportunity Tanzania, a new and growing Opportunity NGO program, as its champion project. If all goes as planned, Opportunity will be able to raise enough equity for Opportunity Tanzania to convert from an NGO MFI (which can only make loans) to a formal financial institution (aka a bank!) by some time in 2010. We will also be visiting Urwego Opportunity Bank (UOB) in Rwanda, which I have previously written about.

I have traveled much before in my life and I am excited to yet again undertake a trip to a new continent. On my blog and guest blogging on Opportunity’s blog I will be taking part in sharing this trip and the experiences/thoughts from this trip! As a YAO member it is my goal to educate, inspire and involve all of those who cannot join me on the trip. I hope the clients we meet, the new foods we try, and the many other great experience we have will come alive for the readers of this blog! I look forward to sharing!

Bien installés maintenant au Xinjiang , les tokhariens continuent leurs invasions vers l’est , en territoire édeniste …

Mais ceux-ci ne sont pas d’accord pour abandonner leurs territoires fertiles et habités , à ces sauvages barbares d’atlantes …

Une série de guerres va en découler …

Et le théâtre des opérations en sera le Gobi …

Le désert de Gobi

Le désert de Gobi , du mongol gobi qui signifie désert ( prononcé gov ), est le plus grand désert d’Asie

De par ses conditions météorologiques exceptionnelles , on y trouve de nombreux squelettes de dinosaures , principalement à Burden Bulag et Argalant Ulaan

Son altitude moyenne de plus de 1000 m , provoque des étés caniculaires et des hivers glaciaux , soit un écart moyen de température de 90°C entre les deux saisons …

Dans le canyon de Yollin Am , on peut voir des blocs de glace au mois de juillet …

Il est composé de vastes plaines , d’imposantes chaînes de montagne et de dunes de sable

Il est habité par des nomades qui habitent dans des yourtes

Ils se déplaçaient en chameaux au gré des pâtures de leurs moutons et leurs chèvres

Aujourd’hui la motorisation et la sédentarisation gagnent du terrain ….

Les guerres du Gobi

Elles sont longuement narrées dans les légendes fondatrices de la Chine , de Huangdi et

Nü-Ba , édenistes , contre Chiyou , le démon céleste , entendez le barbare atlante …

Elles se sont terminées par les guerres de Yi , et sa victoire sur les 10 soleils …

Voir livre premier , 4 ème partie , chapitres 9 et 15 …

Ce furent ces guerres , nucléaires , qui transformèrent l’immense territoire fertile de près de 1 300 000 km2 en l’un des plus grand désert de la terre …

Les guerres d’invasion de la vallée du Gobi par les atlantes ont duré d’environ de – 2700

à – 2200

Chiyou
Huangdi , l’empereur céleste , avait aussi une capitale sur la terre, dans les monts Kunlun

Ses quatre visages lui permettait de regarder en même temps dans toutes les directions : il avait des radars performants …

Huangdi habitait dans sa demeure céleste ou dans ses palais occidentaux , mais il venait souvent sur terre

Vers – 2700 , le démon céleste Chiyou voulut envahir son territoire

Chiyou avait une tête humaine , quatre yeux , six bras et des sabots de bœuf et était d’une grande cruauté

Ses quatre vingt un frères et ses serviteurs étaient aussi cruels que lui

Chiyou s’était emparé des terres du sud grâce à son armée

Puis ils attaquèrent le nord

Sur leur passage , hommes , femmes , vieillards et enfants étaient massacrés sans pitié , le bétail pillé, les maisons et les récoltes détruites

Lorsque Huangdi se rendit compte de la situation , il décida de mettre fin à ces carnages et de tuer Chiyou …

Huangdi conduisit ses armées à l’attaque , avec ses généraux , et notament le général Zhao Ying , chargé de la garde du jardin de Huangdi

C’était un dieu céleste à visage humain , corps de cheval et peau de tigre , avec deux ailes sur son dos qui lui permettaient de voler comme un oiseau

Le général Li Zhu , chargé de la garde de l’arbre aux fruits de jade , avait trois têtes et un regard perçant qui ne laissait rien échapper

Il pouvait garder les yeux ouverts jour et nuit et personne ne pouvait l’approcher …

Il y avait aussi d’autres généraux , comme Chi Gou , Xiang Wang , Shen Tu , Yu Lei , ainsi que le fils de Huangdi , Miao Long , et son petit fils Shi Jun

Chacun détenait un pouvoir magique différent …

Pour lutter contre Chiyou et ses complices , Huangdi demanda encore l’aide d’un grand nombre d’ours , de lions et de tigres …

Chiyou n’était pas disposé à reculer

La plaine de Zhuolu était noyée dans la poussière et le ciel semblait devoir s’écrouler à tout moment …

A la suite d’une contre-attaque des armées de Huangdi , Chiyou fut obligés de reculer

Il brisa alors l’encerclement , ouvrit son énorme bouche en levant la tête , et cracha une brume épaisse …

En un clin d’œil , le brouillard couvrit toute la plaine , le ciel s’obscurcit et la terre plongea dans les ténèbres

Huangdi fit appeler son fonctionnaire Feng Bo qui contrôlait le vent céleste

Celui-ci ouvrit tout grand son sac de vent et la tempête souffla trois jours et trois nuits

Mais le pouvoir de Chiyou était très grand , le brouillard très épais , et le vent, aussi fort fût-il , ne put le disperser

Huangdi inventa alors un char capable d’indiquer à tout moment le chemin à suivre

Une figurine en bois s’y tenait debout et , quelle que soit la direction prise , le bras droit de la statue indiquait toujours le Sud

Grâce à ce char , les armées de Huangdi purent se diriger dans la brume épaisse et briser l’encerclement ennemi

Chiyou contre-attaqua les troupes de Huangdi en envoyant contre elles les démons de la forêt et des montagnes , Chi Mei et Wang Liang

Chi Mei était un démon à figure humaine et à corps d’animal et Wang Liang était un nain aux longues oreilles , avec des yeux rouges , de longs cheveux et une peau noire et rouge

Mais Huangdi connaissait leur faiblesse : Ils craignaient le cri du dragon

Alors Huangdi demanda à ses armées de souffler dans des trompes en imitant le cri du dragon et les démons n’osèrent pas s’approcher

Huangdi fabriqua alors un immense tambour avec la peau de la bête Kui qui vivait dans la mer orientale , là où se dressait le Mont Liupo

Kui ressemblait à un énorme boeuf sans corne à la peau brune

Il avançait en sautillant sur son unique patte

Quand il sortait de la mer , une bourrasque s’élevait et une pluie torrentielle s’abattait sur les flots

Son cri ressemblait au tonnerre et ses yeux brillants lançaient des éclairs

Avec la peau de Kui et les os du démon de la foudre , il fabriqua un énorme tambour et des baguettes

Quand on battait le tambour, la terre et les montagnes tremblaient

On pouvait l’entendre à cinq cents li à la ronde ( un li = 500 mètres )

On frappa le tambour , et la terre et les montagnes frémirent

Les troupes de Huangdi se jetèrent sur l’ennemi

Les troupes de Chiyou furent frappées de stupeur et n’osèrent plus avancer

Obligé d’aller de l’avant , Chiyou arma ses six mains de deux lances , deux arcs et deux épées , et ses deux pieds de lances

Il était si féroce que personne ne pouvait l’approcher

Après neuf assauts consécutifs , Huangdi n’était toujours pas arrivé à le vaincre

Il se décida alors à appeler Ying Long à la rescousse

Yin Long était un grand animal qui pouvait faire jaillir des trombes d’eau de sa bouche et renverser d’un seul coup de queue des milliers de soldats ennemis

Il se plaça devant les troupes de Chiyou , ouvrit toute grande sa bouche et lança sur elles des flots tumultueux

Mais Chiyou avait le pouvoir d’invoquer la pluie et le vent

Il monta au ciel et poussa un cri qui souleva un ouragan

Une pluie torrentielle s’abattit sur les armées de Huangdi

Son armée mpêtrée dans la boue , Huangdi dut faire appel à sa fille Nü Ba des monts Xikunzi

Nü Ba était la Déesse de la sécheresse et elle pouvait faire cesser cette pluie

Partout sur son passage , elle dégageait une chaleur brûlante , dispersait les nuages et arrêtait la pluie

En temps ordinaire , Huangdi la consignait dans les monts Xikunzi du Nord-Ouest et lui interdisait d’en sortir , mais cette fois-ci , elle put utiliser sans restriction son pouvoir magique

La chaleur de son corps brûla Chiyou et ses soldats

Paniqué , Chiyou recula et profitant de cette occasion , Huangdi avança à la vitesse de l’éclair et trancha la tête de Chiyou d’un seul coup

Le napalm de Nü Ba avait tout brûlé …

Les vallées fertiles sont devenues un désert aride …

Sans parler des effets néfastes sur la faune et la flore , des armements stupéfiants des 2 armées , pendant ces longs épisodes de guerre …

Et ce n’était pas fini …

Yi

Les atlantes ont alors sorti le grand jeu : les vaisseaux spatiaux surarmés en nucléaire …

La mère du soleil Xihe avait eu dix enfants qui habitaient à Tanggu , un grand lac situé dans les régions orientales

Les dix soleils passaient là leurs journées à se baigner et s’amuser , aussi l’eau du lac était-elle bouillante pendant les quatre saisons de l’année

Au centre du lac poussait le grand arbre Fusang , le “lieu où se lève le Soleil”

Cet arbre mesurait plusieurs milliers de mètres de haut , et mille personnes ne pouvaient l’embrasser

Sur ses dix énormes branches reposaient les dix soleils

Sur l’ordre de l’empereur céleste, chaque Soleil allait à son tour éclairer le monde

Vraiment, pour nos dix soleils , le monde était plus amusant que le lac Tanggu …

Mais ils ne pouvaient s’y rendre qu’une fois tous les dix jours

C’est insupportable de toujours rester ici , dit le premier soleil , et si à partir de demain nous allions jouer tous ensemble ?

- D’accord ! Répondirent en chœur les neuf autres soleils

Le lendemain , les dix soleils quittèrent le lac Tanggu au mépris des ordres de l’empereur céleste …

Lorsqu’un seul soleil apparaissait dans le ciel à l’aube , tout était normal

Mais lorsque ce jour-là , les dix soleils se levèrent simultanément , ils dégagèrent une chaleur torride : tous les cours d’eau furent asséchés , les champs brûlés se crevassèrent , les arbres et les céréales se desséchèrent et les hommes durent se réfugier dans des grottes , n’osant plus en sortir

Les dix Soleils continuèrent à s’amuser comme si de rien n’était

L’Empereur Yao , qui régnait à cette époque sur la Chine , habitait une chaumière et menait la vie simple et sobre du peuple

Ayant à cœur les intérêts de son peuple , il demanda aux soleils de se retirer immédiatement , au risque d’anéantir toutes les espèces vivantes sur terre , mais les soleils n’en eurent cure et continuèrent à s’amuser

L’Empereur Yao fut obligé d’intercéder pour son peuple auprès de l’empereur céleste

En apprenant que les dix soleils avaient transgressé ses ordres , l’empereur céleste se mit dans une colère noire

Il fit appeler Yi , l’archer céleste

- Les fils de Xihe ont trahi leur serment , lui dit-il

- Ils sont sortis tous ensemble, causant de graves sécheresses

- Voici un arc rouge et un carquois de dix flèches blanches

- Va et chatie-les comme il se doit !

Obtempérant à l’ordre de l’empereur céleste , Yi prit son arc et ses flèches et descendit immédiatement sur Terre

Les souffrances du peuple écrasé par la chaleur des soleils l’affligèrent beaucoup

Il leva la tête , défia du regard les dix soleils et sans dire un mot , saisit son arc et le banda

La flèche partit comme une étoile filante

Une violente déflagration se répercuta dans le ciel , le Soleil touché par la flèche de Yi , se changea en une boule de feu et tomba

Les autres prirent la fuite

Mais Yi visa le deuxième Soleil , puis le troisième , le quatrième , etc …

Ils tombèrent l’un après l’autre

A chaque fois qu’un soleil était touché , il en tombait un corbeau noir à 3 pattes

Au moment où il retirait la dixième flèche de son carquois , l’empereur Yao retint son bras :

- Arrête ! lui dit-il , tous les êtres vivants ne peuvent vivre ni se multiplier sans soleil

- Epargne le dernier

Yi acquiesça en silence

Après avoir fait disparaître les neuf soleils , la température redevint normale

Les hommes purent alors sortir de leurs abris , labourer la terre , moissonner , chasser , réparer et construire leurs maisons

Ils menaient à nouveau un vie paisible.

Sa mission accomplie , Yi s’apprêta à retourner au ciel

Mais, pleins de gratitude , les hommes le retinrent auprès d’eux et émirent l’espoir qu’il restât quelques jours de plus sur Terre

Les asiates après la défaite de Chiyou , avaient fait un traité de territorialité avec les atlantes : chacun devait rester chez soi

Les atlantes , comme d‘habitude n’ont pas respecté le traité …

Ils sont venus avec leurs vaisseaux aériens de combat , et ont fait des dégâts considérables avec leurs canons laser pour conquérir les territoires asiates

Ils savaient que l’armement qui pouvait les vaincre , était resté dans l’espace , dans les vaisseaux asiates

Ils ne s’attendaient pas à une communication aussi rapide entre les bases terrestres de Yao et les bases spatiales de Huangdi

Huangdi a donc envoyé Yi avec ses missiles pour détruire les vaisseaux atlantes …

Mais cette nouvelle guerre , nucléaire cette fois ci , a anéanti définitivement et pour des milliers d’années , les vallées fertiles du Gobi …

Les kelts au Gobi

Bien que très détaillées dans leurs descriptions , les guerres du Gobi , ne comportent pas d’allusions à des attaques nucléaires ou aériennes avant l’arrivée des 10 soleils et l’intervention de Yi …

Aussi , il y a de bonnes chances pour que les guerriers de la civilisation de Shu , aux emblèmes des kelts , voir livre premier 5 ème partie chapitre 28 , soient les renforts demandés et accordés par les kelts aux tokhariens , atlantes comme eux et adversaire des édenistes

Cela explique l’intervention tardive des moyens aériens , mais aussi la présence des symboles kelts au Xinjiang

Il est probable que cette alliance des kelts et des tokhariens au Gobi soit un échange de moyens et de troupes pour étoffer l’armée kelte en guerre contre Atlantide …

Les légendes de l’île blanche du Gobi

Les mélanides habitants du Gobi , possédaient de grandes connaissances techniques et notamment le système métrique

Ces connaissances leur auraient été révélées par des hommes venus du ciel en vaisseau spatial …

Ils seraient arrivés dans l’île blanche de la mer de Gobi

Ce serait le mont Atis enneigé , à 600 km au nord-est du Lob-Nor , dans le Djasactou-khan

De cette région , aujourd’hui désertique , émigrèrent jadis des peuples en possession d’une science révolutionnaire

En 1938 , l’archéologue chinois Tschi Pu Tei découvrit , dans des grottes de Baian Kara Ula , à la frontière de la Chine et du Tibet , des chambres funéraires dans lesquelles il y des petits squelettes avec un crâne très développé

Sur les parois de ces grottes , il vit des peintures représentant des êtres coiffés de casques ronds

On y voyait aussi les étoiles , le soleil et la lune

716 assiettes ou disques en granit de 2 cm d’épaisseur y ont été trouvés

Les disques sont percés au centre avec une double rainure qui rejoint le bord en décrivant une spirale

Les archéologues chinois pensaient qu’autrefois dans cette région avaient vécu les tribus des dropas et des khams

Selon les anthropologues , ces tribus étaient ne mesuraient en moyenne que 1,30 m

En 1962 , le Pr Tsum Um Nui , de l’Académie de préhistoire de Pékin , put déchiffrer une partie des inscriptions contenues dans les rainures :
Les inscriptions sur les assiettes de pierre nous font remonter de 12000 ans en arrière et leurs auteurs nous apprennent qu’une partie de leur peuple fut jeté sur la troisième planète de notre système

Mais ses engins de vols – c’est une traduction fidèle des hiéroglyphes – ne furent plus assez puissants pour repartir de ce monde

Les naufragés auraient été anéantis dans les montagnes reculées et difficilement accessibles Ils n’auraient pas eu le moyen et les possibilités de construire de nouveaux engins aériens
Les créatures jetées sur la Terre racontent également qu’elles ont essayé de s’entendre avec les habitants des montagnes mais que ceux-ci les ont pourchassés et massacrés

La conclusion du récit est presque textuellement :

Les femmes , les enfants , les hommes se cachèrent dans les grottes jusqu’au lever du soleil

Puis ils crurent au signal et virent que cette fois les autres étaient venus avec des intentions pacifiques

Le canular des dropas
Tout porte à croire que cette jolie histoire des dropas ne soit qu’un canular :

Absence de rapports officiels des soi-disantes missions …

Impossibilité de tracer une vie officielle des professeurs Tschi Pu Tei et Tsum Um Nui …

Impossibilité de voir ou toucher un des fameux disques , dont il y en avait tout de même 716 exemplaires …

En fait la plupart des auteurs qui ont véhiculé cette histoire , ont avoué l’avoir fait sans en vérifier l’authenticité et en plus l’ont embellie de leurs commentaires …

Like I said in my previous post, I watched Honor To Us All. Because of that, I stumbled across I’ll Make A Man Out Of You. Anyway, the part that I found interesting was when Shang took out the weights, put them on Yao, and said that the weights represented strength and determination. He also said that both strength and determination were needed to reach the arrow, or in reality, your goals. Personally, I find it to be true because if you don’t have the strength and determination, you won’t be able to do what you want. Case in point would be Elle from Legally Blonde. When Warner didn’t think Elle was spending her time well by being at Harvard, Elle went onto study harder in her classes.

Another MJ blog, but this time it is the other famous MJ- – “the greatest basketball player that ever played the game”- jersey number 23 Michael Jordan. Like the other MJ(Michael Jackson), Michael Jordan was just great, phenomenal, probably the most popular basketball player that ever played, he is and will always be the number 1 player of all time in basketball history. How did Jordan become number 1?? Actually to tell you honestly, his being number 1 is really debatable, why?? Statistically he is not number 1, here are the facts; Kareem Abdul Jabbar scored most points than Jordan (Jordan is number 3 on the scoring list), Bill Russel has more championships than Jordan (Russel has 11, Jordan has 6), Wilt Chamberlain scored the most points in a game (Wilt scored 100, Jordan scored 69- – Kobe scored 81). I can still name other statistical data that says that MJ may not be the greatest player but it will be lengthy.

What made MJ that great? Statistics says that he isn’t, but what made people label him “the greatest”? I have a rough answer to that….

Michael Jordan acted globally.

Wikinomics by Tapscott and Williams says that in order to be successful “think globally, act globally” and MJ did just that, maybe he have read the Wikinomics(haha!) or someone had given him advice that he should do just that, but truly he is a perfect example of “think globally, act globally”, let me share with you my thoughts on him.

Michael Jordan’s entrance to the NBA in 1984 was not really a headliner unlike the entrance of Lebron in 2006 and Yao Ming in 2003, because  thinking MJ was just “another athletic, good player”, he wasn’t even the first pick of that 1984 draft . He came to the NBA at a time where the hype of the Magic vs. Bird(lakers vs. Celtics) was at its peak, where Julius Erving is making waves for his hang time and dunking. But as the games goes by, MJ was slowly but surely making a mark in the basketball business.. He was slowly making his own “mark”, he was becoming the next big thing, next to Erving, Bird and Magic. But Mj didn’t stop just becoming the “next big thing”, he surely made himself the BIGESST THING that ever happened to basketball. He revolutionized the game, he put something that of his own to his game. Like what we have discussed last meeting in our orcom 152 class about “acting globally”… putting your own mark/style on you world class brand, MJ did just that. He is a world-class talent, but he put something in his game that other “world-class basketball players” didn’t do. Let me enumerate it to you; 1. MJ was the first to use baggy shorts(shorts before was really short) 2. He was probably the 1st player to use “wrist bands” as a fashion statement 3. He was the first to use basketball shoes, designed and named  after him(the jordan brand shoes..he made nike popular!) 4. He added “grace and style” to the game (making him the basketball player with the most number of endorsements) 5. He popularized game winning shots 6. He is probably the only player during his time to wear jersey number 23  and oh yes he made that number popular!really popular!…  andthe list goes on and on of what MJ did …

MJ tapped the untapped, MJ put something of his own in his game, MJ flew above every basketball player in the world, MJ made a mark,

thinking and acting globally like MJ-23.
