Dostałem niezwykły prezent od mojej kochanej dziewczyny. Trafiła w sam środek mojego serca. Dostałem … aparat.
Piękną Yashice Mat-124G. W stanie idealnym. Nie wiem jak ona go zdobyła, ale jeszcze nikt nie sprawił mi tyle radości.
No to wziełem tą Yashice i porobiłem kilka fotek.

Day 1 of my day off, yet another day of just pretty much relaxing, went to Algonkian Park today and did my usual ritual of shooting over there, Loaded a Lomo Film on my Yashica GT 35 and set off to the Park, w/c is good it has 36 shots more that enough to realy shoot on film and pick what to frame, after wards went to target for film developing, just develop & put it in CD. I am realy looking forward on the images, i have ask for the 1hr service so i can have time and did some research around. Me & my mom are planning to buy a TV for xmas, i am looking forward in it on Black friday anway, went back over an hour later and Fark! my films is not yet on a CD!!! it was developed, for crying out loud the lady who was in the counter can’t even find it, i have to point it to her the film w/c was just hanging by the table sheeshh!! so fine, i will wait for it to be scanned w/c it did realy took that long, went to borders and sit there enjoy my Peppermint mocha trio all excited like a kid who was set free and went to the candy store, w/c in my case the drink, a public place w/c is Border’s (unfortunately the skinny Lady took the soft leathery couch 1st, i ended up in a chair in the center, but still fine) and there free wi-fi.

as soon as i have viewed the image.. yes! a perfect little thing for me, edited it in LR and… shit!? hold on!!  arrgg.. not scanned in high resolution!! dammit!! went back there told the guy about the scenario,  he seems like a nice guy, but i won’t let him pass in this.. he’s also dumb.

yes!! un-fucking-belivable same old highquality crap-work, i am already tired, sleepy and frustrated… *sigh what a very nice start to end finish for my day… Sunday, where “normal” working class people are prepping up for a Monday to friday grind and i am just unwinding up for my life.. and all they have to do is fuck-up my film scans.. nice, i had a very wonderful day again aside from the morning i woke up and in bed speaking to somebody, but yes! goodfucking day to me… ohh i have inserted some shots on that film roll…

I just realized that this is the first week is a LONG time that I haven’t had at least 3 posts.
Please forgive.

Anyway, here’s the new TLR I was telling you about. I’m hoping to do some stuff with it in the next week or so that I can share. Fingers crossed.

So. Update from the last post, the camera works! Whoo! Turns out I had the battery adapter in the wrong way. The finder is still really foggy, but I think I can clean that. Ah. Life is good again.

Except for the 2,000 words that are due in 12 hours. Dang school.

Rollout.

Something came in the mail… err… “post” today.

Things were going really well between us until I opened the battery compartment to put in a battery and found this:

Ah! Knife through the heart! I put the battery in anyway, hoping it would just ignore the ridiculous amount of corrosion that surrounded it, but no such luck. The camera simply doesn’t want anything to do with electricity at the moment.

Even if it had power, it would be a serious pain to focus. The rangefinder (focusing eyepiece) is way too fogged up to notice anything resembling an in-focus shot. Bah. Such is life. I’ll have to dig around and see if I can find anywhere that could give it a good cleaning and replace the crapped-out electronics, but I’m not entirely hopeful at the moment.

Besides those two issues, this thing is a beautiful little camera. It was made sometime between 1966 and 1968, so it’s a little on the old side. Everything about it is super smooth, even being 40 years old. It’s relatively small, but very solid. It feels just as good as it looks. I wouldn’t mind if Canon added a few pounds to its cameras to give them the same solidness that this little sucker has.

But of course, none of that changes the fact that right now, it doesn’t take pictures. Apparently film and I just weren’t meant to be…

I got a new camera the other day. It’s a replacement Yashica TLR for one that I have that doesn’t work.

The neat thing about it is the glow that the lens creates around figures in the image. Its previous owner hated this, which is why I have it. I figured the dreaminess was neat. I was right.

The first roll I ran through was to test the camera. The images haven’t had any real post processing done to them because I recently upgraded my work computer and I haven’t had a chance to install CS4 yet. But for those of you who’re curious, the film here is expired Kodak Ektachrome 160T, overexposed a stop. I can’t wait to try this with models!

A venit acum o saptamana tocmai din SUA, de pe ebay. A fost 7 dolari + taxe. L-am curatat, l-am sters, i-am bagat o baterie noua cu niste folie de aluminiu pentru contact. Mai trebuie sa-i schimb buretele din interior, ala care-l ferea de lumina. Oricum am bagat un Ilford 100 in el. Dupa ce voi trage tot filmul am sa-l desfac sa-i curat rangefinderul! Rezultatele in curand…

My wife and i have picked up a new hobby of scouring yard sales on the weekend. It fill the need of purchasing to feel better which is deeply ingrained from both our childhoods and is also a lot easier on our budget then buying DVD’s every week.(we were also running out of shelf space) Any ways I have been into antique cameras especially from the 50’s and 60’s I love the mechanical feel to them, they give of this feeling like a gun almost, when you crank the lever for the next frame. Something I can’t explain.
Last weekend i had my biggest score yet. I found a near mint Pentax K1000 body only for only a buck! yes $1.00. I was so pumped I couldn’t contain my self. a few months earlier I purchased 3 lenses of unknown origin at the local Flea market in Londonderry(right on route 102, go check it out it’s awesome!) one of them fit my new Pentax. Later in the day i also picked up a Canon AV-1 and a few weeks ago I purchased a Yashica electro. I will get some pictures up of them in the next few days and once I get a chance to play with them I’ll do a right up.

C’était séduisant sur le papier, mais en vrai c’est encore mieux, les bagues Novoflex sont tout simplement géniales. Moins chères que les bagues Lumix pour les montures Leica R et M … Mais surtout, elles ont la particularité d’avoir une bague de diaph manuel pour les optiques dernière génération qui en sont démunies.

La bague bleue dispose d’un ingénieux système ultra simple qui actionne la petite languette interne à l’optique qui permet normalement au boitier de piloter celui ci.

Du coup on peut utiliser les dernières optique, (Pentax et Nikkor pour ma part). Bon les râleurs vont encore râler, on n’a pas d’indication de diaph, on ne sait pas si on est à 2,8 ou à 4,5 ?! mais au final on s’en fout totalement car avec le viseur du GH1 on voit le résultat instantanément.

Bagues Novoflex sur GH1 pour optiques Nikkor, Pentax, Leica etc

J’apprécie  énormément ces accessoires, la qualité de fabrication est superbe et le prix reste contenu. Ils ont aussi une crosse d’épaule qui a l’air bien conçue et pas chère. Sans oublier un concept génial, le QadroPod ! c’est tellement génial que personne n’y avait pensé !

Seit ich sie mir zugelegt habe, ist meine Yashica T2 eigentlich überall und immer dabei. Da die Kamera hauptsächlich für Schnappschüsse, Parties und Begegnungen mit Robotern zum Einsatz kommt, sammelt sich so einiges auf einem Kleinbildfilm an. So sammeln sich also einige Themen auf 36 Negativen und daher habe ich beschlossen, dass es Zeit ist, “The Dailies” ins Leben zu rufen. Hier präsentiere ich alle paar Wochen die Highlights dieser Filme. Vielleicht gelingt es mir eine passende Onlinepräsentation zu gestalten.
Wenn ich nicht übertrieben motiviert bin, reicht ein Film etwa für einen Monat, also viel Spaß mit meinem September ( und ein paar Oktobertagen)

I am looking at a few cheap rangefinders and can’t decide the best one to get but this looks a good contender!. Rich vivid colours and hyper contrast pictures is what i’m after and what this delivers…

The original Electro came out in 1966 and with it a new type of rangefinder was born. At that time Yashica was a leading innovator in rangefinder development. The Electro was the first of its kind to use an all electronic, stepless shutter mechanism. The revolutionary shutter was powered by an electro-magnet and this is how the camera got its name and fame.

Don’t stop there! The Yashica Electro 35 is so much more than just an electro-magnet! It is one of the few compact, semi-automatic rangefinders which uses Aperture Priority. When you adjust the aperture, the camera automatically selects the correct shutter speed. This function means that you can keep control over the depth of field. The two warning lights alert you to slower speeds and overexposure. Not only that; it’s a speedy rascal with ia 45mm f-1.7 lens and it can flash sync at ALL shutter speeds.

Tricky lighting is no beef with the Electro’s in-built ATL (above the lens) metering. The Electro 35 was years ahead of the SLR with its reactive light meter system. As long as the shutter is open the metering mechanism keeps working. Turn the light on – the meter adjusts. Likewise when you suddenly go from light to dark – the meter reacts with you.

Focussing is its forte. The large, bright viewfinder sports a diamond-shaped rangefinder patch. All you have to do is twist the focus rings to match up the ghost image. Then the parallax compensation kicks in automatically to make sure your shot is as perfect as you want it to be!

Unge fotografer vil kanskje ikke dra kjensel på Yashica som kameramerke, mens fotografer som har holdt på sidens filmens tid vil nikke gjenkjennende til mange spennende modeller opp gjennom årene. Etter at de forsvant på 90 tallet har det vært stille, men nå er de i siget igjen, og prøver å kapre unge digitaliserte fotografer med sitt retro-look.

Med EZ F521  blir Yashica neste kameraprodusent som kaster seg på retrobølgen. EZ F521 er et digitalt kamera med en 43mm fast optikk påmontert med utseende i beste retrostil. Yashica EZ F521 har en 1/2.5″  5-megapikslers CMOS-sensor, en 2,4″ TFT LCD-skjerm, og som nevnt en 43mm f / 3,0 linse med to fokus innstillinger, 1,5 m til uendelig og “makro” innstilling for motiver mellom 20-40cm fra sensorenplan. Kameraets elektronikk sørger for lukkertider fra 1 / 2 sekund til 1 / 500 sekund, mens ISO-område er automatisk og ikke kan bruker kontrolleres. Kameraet går på 3 AA batterier, og lagrer bilder (og video i 640×480 oppløsning) på SD-og SDHC-kort. Jeg tviler på om EZ F521 blir å se i norske butikkhyller.

(1) walking down brick lane away from pam’s office, i was stopped by an eager couple. they asked me if i wanted to be in a fashion show…as a MODEL. not only is THAT ridic, but i was eating a piece of cake.

(2) i bought a GORG yashica rangefinder with a 1.7 lens from my new friend, ian.

(3) rediscovered my love for the kinks on the 91 to kings cross.

(4) enjoyed the most deliciously cold and crisp pink lady.

(5) pam saw pete doherty playing around on an accordian at spitalfields.
